I had to use my plan because I dropped my phone and jammed the volume down button. I received an Amazon gift card for the purchase price, BUT Asurion informed me that my plan was cancelled. Meaning that it is a "one time use" plan. That is NOT what is advertised, and NOT what I purchased. The contract says it will REPAIR or replace...NOT one time replacement only. I paid for two years of protection, NOT one time use. I am quite sure that the phone I returned will be repaired and sold again, so I should only be dinged for the cost of repair, NOT the total purchase price.

I purchased a renewed Samsung Galaxy S-7 in September 2019 and purchased the two year insurance. There was a problem with the phone in December 2019. I tried to make a claim informing the Asurion insurance that the phone was no longer accepting a charge and would no longer turn on for service. Asurion insisted that I send the phone to Samsung for warranty service. Samsung received the phone and determined that it was not a warranty issue but impact damage with a repair cost of $70.34 before proceeding. Asurion refused to reimburse for the repair instead claiming that though impact damage is covered, they could not reimburse me for the cost and that I would have to have Samsung return the phone to me and then put another claim in to Asurion so that I could send the phone to Asurion. This is unacceptable. Asurion tried to avoid the insurance coverage by having me send the phone to Samsung. Now, I am faced with being without a phone for additional time. (I.e. the initial claim December 2nd (lots of on the phone/website hassle with both Asurion and Samsung); mail off to Samsung was December 4th; information regarding damage from Samsung December 10th; and now waiting for Samsung to send the phone back so that I can re-claim to Asurion.) Who knows how much longer this process is going to take. I don't believe that purchasers of insurance would expect to have such a long process for the repair/replacement of their cell phone. The insurance is an illusion.

Instead of being told I will be receiving a replacement phone I get this response, 'Once we receive and examine your product, we'll send the eGift card reimbursement to the same email address. You should receive an email containing your eGift card reimbursement information within 3 business days from when we receive your malfunctioning product. " How does an eGift card help someone purchase and use a new phone if its conditional on when a product is received? How many people have a spare phone to use until you receive your eGift card? How many people have an additional $200 or more to buy a phone until you receive your eGift Card which is only available for purchases on Amazon? Also, it's only good for a one time use. Once it's used you will need to buy a new plan even if its the same exact product. If your ok with this spend an additional $30 on a product that only has a one time use...

There is a copay first, they are not that great as a warranty for accident. You pay for their protection and when it breaks you have to pay for their service to fix it.

If I could give zero I would. Today is October 3rd. I first placed a claim for my cell phone on September 18th and it is still not resolved. I have called 4 different times and given either wrong or incorrect information. What makes it worse, I placed a claim with SquareTrade for my son's iPad today and got it resolved with an email conformation email in just minutes. I Amazon does not offer SquareTrade in future I will not buy the product with Asurion.

This plan does not at all protect your phone. The rules in agreement are that for a certain price phone there is a certain price it will pay you. For my 70$ phone I was provided with 14$ upon complete damage.
