This book is not worth the read as it is another book that provides limited information. For $0 dollars you can find the same information by searching on google. The author provides extremely bare bones basic knowledge. He emphasizes the fact that dividends are great passive income but provides no information for picking stocks. While the information is basic the author does not outline basic fundamentals associated with picking dividend stocks. The entire book involves picking stocks off of the dividend aristocrats list but provides not fundamental analysis for analyzing and picking these stock. Just telling people not to seek or chase high yields is common sense. But the other does not outline the most basic concepts such as payout ratios and cash flow. This is a boring read that will not increase your knowledge of investing.

I purchased this book thinking that there might be some content of interest to a person when considering investing in stocks for their dividend yield. Unfortunately, what I found was some extremely basic investment advice that was simplified to the point of being misleading (e.g., attributing dividend returns to the growth in value of a portfolio that was almost certainly driven quite substantially by capital appreciation). There was almost no discussion at all of portfolio construction beyond picking either an ETF or a handful of the "dividend aristocrats". The author explains some basic investing concepts like dollar cost averaging, but there is nothing in this book which makes it worth the price tag. The Investopedia page on "Introduction to Dividends" actually contains more information about how dividends work than this book. If your investing knowledge is at the level where this book is actually helpful for you, you would be better served with a general book on investing rather than one targeted specifically toward dividend stocks.

On top of all this, the author uses large font with lots of white space on the page in order to inflate the page count (as well as a large section full of ads for other books). It took me about 30-45 minutes to read through the whole thing, and I'm usually a slow reader.

The book reads like a booklet. The statements are not false, but the book does not provide enough depth to give would be investors enough confidence to start investing without fear. The book is also too brief to properly build the case for dividend investing.
I'd recommend reading Smart Investors Keep It Simple: Investing in dividend stocks for passive income Kindle Edition
by Giovanni Rigters as a better alternative to those new to investing.

This book had a lot of good information about dividend investing. The author listed several companies that paid out dividends, and he gave strategies for what to do when the market was down (buy stock instead of selling, and don't panic). Dividend investing is a good way to build wealth over the years.

Matthew gives sound advice in his book, and I intend to follow it. Great book, and I highly recommend it.

I loved reading his book. It is exactly the book I want to give to my grandsons. One just graduated from high school and one graduated from college. They both had jobs this summer and and I tried to impress on each of them to pay themselves first and invest as time is on their side to becoming a millionaire some day. This book will give them the tools they need to get started.

I learned a lot about dividend stocks in this very informative and easy to read book by Matthew Kratter. He writes in a language that is easy to understand for a person like me that are not educated or very well informed in the language of finance (there is a small language barrier also but he manages to bridge that too). Due to the information from this book I have managed to choose stocks that are solid companies that pay out a nice amount of cash every quarter. Thank you Matt, keep writing, I will keep reading! :-)

This is an excellent book. Very easy to read and understand. Matthew R. Kratter explains things so a beginner can understand. Highly recommend this book.

This book is quite simple to understand. Among all the stock's investment, high dividend stock's investment is probably the only easy and low risk way to get returns. Timing makes all the difference.

A very simple guide to Dividend Investing. The bias is for the American stock market, but many of the ideas are also applicable to trading on the LSE. Whilst this is a slim volume, it is also informative. Recommended.

Thank you Matthew for another incredible book - You confirmed my strategy. Set it and forget it - buy great companies with a long history of dividends and raises. Imagine not having to ask your boss for a raise ? This strategy takes out all the stress and anxiety of news and bear / bull market noise. One thing to note - I combined my learning from another one of Matthews books on Momentum stocks. In one account, I have FANG stocks. When they each have a profit , I sell the profit only and purchase shares of dividend paying companies. I do this regularly. I use growth / momentum stocks as an ATM to secure my retirement. Keep on writing you are a true mentor. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

it was the last book available, read it on a plane, took me 1hr from start to end, the author was straight forward a lot of good inside and approaches, happy with content and purchase. I am new to the world of investments, knew a bit of info prior to purchase but the book just reinforce what I already knew. Give me the confidence to continue with what I am doing. Thanks for sharing your past experiences with me.
