Node.js for .NET Developers (Developer Reference)
Node.js for .NET Developers (Developer Reference)
The book is written by an experienced developer but it is full of errors. For example, instead of passing "sql" as the parameter in Chapter 6, the author says that the parameter is "request". Similarly, there are many more programming errors in this book. Did someone review it before putting it on sale?

I am still giving a 2-star because I was able to learn something regarding Node.js. However, Microsoft charged $20.00 for a 80-page book. This is not worth the price.
Earl Nightingale Reads Think and Grow Rich
Earl Nightingale Reads Think and Grow Rich
It's pretty much difficult for me to write the reviews of all-time best-selling books, classics. While reading the book, I didn't feel like checking out if he wrote the truth or not because what matters is the power of conviction, power of thinking, and that is what the author wants from his readers.

Think and Grow Rich is a weird book I ended up liking, just not for the reasons intended by the author. The language of Hill's book is very much like the polite business writing Carnigie and it is endearing and friendly enough that I was willing to fight it through to the end. The first part of his book seems perfectly rational. The rest is just strange enough to get a kick out of.

Some of the principles, values added in this book are astonishing. I don't know how much they will help one in becoming rich, and wealthier. But then there is no loss in trying these principles, activities. There is no problem in thinking that you are rich and you want to become richer, that you're wealthy and you want to become wealthier, that you're smart and you want to become smarter.

Napolean Hill, again and again, tells you to focus on thinking, thinking positive, thinking big and that is how this book lures the readers to do the actions that the author wanted to.

The crux of the book is that successful people think differently than the rest of us, and if we want to be successful, we need to learn to think like them. Fair enough. Hill, having spent a career studying successful people, then prescribes steps to learn to think like the successful. Develop desire, faith, and work at obtaining a specific knowledge. Get together with like-minded individuals and discuss your dealings with them in what he calls a Maser Mind Group. It all sounded pretty straight forward. It sounds like a good plan. Then he gets into how to develop faith.

There are a couple of more dubious but harmless ideas in this book. Hats, and men's fear of judgement, makes many men bald. Men are afraid of criticism, so they go along with the trend to wear hats. Many of these hats are too tight. They cut off circulation to the scalp thereby causing baldness. I am bald but I don’t think I ever wore hat!
The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 (2LP)
The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 (2LP)
You don't really need me to tell you about Aretha or her music – she provided a large part of the soundtrack to most of our lives, and you should already be familiar with many of the tracks included on this new double CD collection. Although released in September 2018, a month after her passing, this release was not actually intended as a memorial set but was planned much earlier in the year – the booklet notes were actually written back in May. However, Aretha Franklin - The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 does now make a fine tribute to an outstanding artist and covers what many would consider to be her her golden era. As others have mentioned what we have on this new CD double disc set are the mono singles masters of this material, and these are the versions we would have heard on the radio back at the time, rather than the stereo album mixes. The mono mixes pack a lot more power and will blast out of the centre of your stereo speakers when you crank up the volume. “Auntie” Aretha and “Uncle” Otis were great favourites of DJ Johnnie Walker back in his Radio Caroline days and he played them both very regularly on his evening shows – great stuff! This CD version of the singles collection is currently just under a tenner from Amazon and if you buy direct from Amazon – rather than from one of their third-party sellers – you will also get the MP3 album AutoRipped to your Amazon Music Library so you can play it today! This is certainly a five star release for music, presentation and value – so if you only want to buy one CD collection to remember Aretha Franklin then make it this one – I'm sure a more comprehensive memorial tribute is currently being planned but for now this is my favourite.
Danny Kaye & Louis Armstrong / The Five Pennies
Danny Kaye & Louis Armstrong / The Five Pennies
Warning --under no circumstances buy this new reissue of this classic gorgeous soundtrack. The one which has just come out with "original recording" is the one I am talking about on Hallmark. Dont buy it. Its improperly recorded on a very cheap label. This is not the proper soundtrack that came out with notes and perfectly remixed about five or six years ago on CD, this is a bargain basement version and its AWFUL. I would send it back and ask for my money back from Amazon except for the cheap cost its not worth it. Anyone who knows this soundtrack and listens to it will know what I mean. It is 3 MINUTES LONGER than the original CD release for good reason, all the tracks have been slightly slowed down.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????? I have never come across anything like this before. Danny Kaye sounds totally different. Also the music all sounds slightly off pitch as a result. If Amazon is concerned and serious about their customers or what they sell, they will take it off the market immediately. Go for the original recording, it should not even be on this page with the letters from customers as they are all based on the earlier version. Believe me, DO NOT BUY IT

California Costumes Men's George Washington/Thomas Jefferson/Alexander Hamilton/Colonial Costume
My son wanted me to make him a Hamilton costume for Halloween with 3 days notice! Nope, not happening, but I found this on Amazon, and the reviews sounded promising. It smelled a little strange when we first opened it, but we hung it up and aired it out, and it worked great! It was comfortable and fit with a little room to spare (he is 5'9" and about 115 pounds - we got a small, even though extra-small was recommended, but he's fine with having it a little looser).

He was so excited to wear it trick-or-treating with his little brother, and again at high school today for "Throw Back Thursday" day!

The fabric isn't too stiff, but still holds it shape. Great details (buttons, etc.) The pants are a simple elastic waisted pant, the coat/shirt frontgoes on in one piece like a shirt, the cravat just connects with velcro like a collar, and the "boots" are just slip on fake fronts that you put on under your own pair of black shoes (he used his marching band shoes - jazz shoes or matte dress shoes would also work.

It was hot and humid on Halloween, but he said the fabric wasn't overly hot.

OUTSTANDING ALBUM!! A+++ I put this album in the stereo the very evening I got home and received it--I couldn't wait to hear it--but basically I was just curious (I didn't listen to the samples before I got it). But the surprise I got was something like the following metaphoric comparison: I was prepared to get a ride in a car and see new scenery on the next street, but instead I got into a supersonic jet and took off in a very rapid and steep ascent!!!! WHEEE!! Up and away--WHAT A THRILL!!! Oh my God!!! What an album!! I had to grab tissues to wipe my moist eyes I was so moved and happy! An almost 50 year old Bob Dylan executes an over the top super performance in this exceptionally rich and sophisticated mood evoking album--his voice is perfect. Right away in Political World during the first stanza and during the crescendo, you can hear that he sings it to PERFECTION--going softly or delicately on some words and even his signature hillbilly twang that he invented long ago is evident on some words he sings that make this song among others a symphony of sound. And listen to the AWESOME LYRICS to Political World!

The tune itself to Political World is not complicated, but the arrangement, the lyrics and the way Bob sings it makes it complex and sophisticated--very much so. The arrangements are so very sophisticated in the other songs AS WELL. Everything is Broken is super (available in The Essential Bob Dylan). Man in the Long Black Coat is drop-to-my-knees-I-surrender F A B U L O U S with Bob's deep voice in this one--it is a richly mysterious, somewhat meloncholic song, the "heart stopping" What Was It You Wanted has a VERY STIRRING DYLAN HARMONICA and guitar, Ring Them Bells is very deep. This man is so unbelievably talented, I can't get over it!!! THIS ALBUM IS A MUST BUY!!! So many times before I've said: "Bob, you are TOO good!!!!" This is another album I was saying the same thing!!!--over and over and over. The lyrics to the songs in this album are very good. Altogether between the sound, the tunes, the arrangements, the lyrics and the way Bob sings them, most of these songs are absolutely over the top outstanding!! Okay, you may always find some song that you just don't care for on any one album--that's almost a given, but I can't get over the quality of this album, and I can't wait to go home in the evening or wait till the weekend to play my favorites over and over again. I will never get tired of this album.

These songs are powerful, richly complex and VERY sophisticated starting with the super "Political World." I thought I had heard all Bob's best by now and I was absolutely amazed to hear all these superb songs. I can't tell you how enthusiastic I am with this album. Hey, my excuse for not having this album before is that I got stuck in Europe for much of the time after graduating (my choice), and I got tangled up with the locals, but if you were here all the time and knew Bob Dylan from the 60's, you surely have missed out on a real treasure of an album! He's come a long way baby!!!

PS: Hot Note: After doing this review, I opened The Rough Guide to Bob Dylan that I have at home and in the section right before "Not Dark Yet" they mentioned that "Man in the Long Black Coat" was WRITTEN IN THE STUDIO AND EXECUTED all in ONE take. Another book said he wrote it "QUICKLY" right in the studio. I find that absolutely remarkable to say the least--absolutely mind blowing! Also listen carefully to "Most of the Time" because the music in the background is super.

B O O M!!!!!

A great Crayola product! The sheets of paper are thick enough for markers to not bleed all over your table, and the pictures are big enough for little hands to color with no difficulty. The stickers are a great addition.

Make note: the sheets are loose.. what looks like a coloring book cover is really a folder, basically. This isn’t a big deal for us, but if I hand the entire thing to my kids, I will have coloring sheets all over the floor.

Would recommend for Baby Shark fans!

E` piaciuto veramente molto anche a mia figlia. Praticamente introvabile da altre parti. Consegna perfetta e nei tempi previsti. Essendo un film molto vecchio la qualita` della pellicola non e` confrontabile con la definizione dei film attuali.
Champion Men's Graphic Powerblend Fleece Hoodie Script Sweatshirt
Champion Men's Graphic Powerblend Fleece Hoodie Script Sweatshirt
Nice, true to size, so this may seem a little big for some ... I was a little shocked. It's not an athletic fit, but more so a classic hoodie fit, meaning it's slightly baggier in the torso, so for a more shapely fit, may want to size down... esp if you run between sizes. Washing and drying did not shrink it much, so don't rely on that. I got the orangish/red and it's very very soft and a good weight. Not cheap feeling or light. What I would consider 'standard' but even better because the quality of the cotton is right.
The Holiday [Blu-ray]
The Holiday [Blu-ray]
'The Holiday' is one of the films I love to watch whenever I feel the need for some cheering up. It has so many scenes that just make me smile or chuckle out loud that I find I soon forget whatever was getting me down. Who can not but smile at Kate Winslet's reaction when first exploring the house where she is staying in Los Angeles, or Cameron Diaz navigating a snowy lane in England wearing high heeled shoes and dragging a suitcase, or her driving a mini on the 'wrong' side of the road? I even enjoy noticing some of the unintentional continuity weaknesses in the film such as the variability of the snowy conditions in the scenes set in England (which are even more variable than what we would normally expect from the English climate! ).
Another factor that makes this film so appealing and uplifting has to be the music, from the melodic score by Hans Zimmer and the wide range of individual hit songs (or snippets of hit songs) that pepper the film by such artists as James Taylor & Aretha Franklin (to name just a couple).
While the film has a terrific cast of actors, the stand out actor for me is Eli Wallach, whose performance as an elderly retired screen writer is beautifully understated and endearing.
So, if you have never seen this film and you are someone who enjoys romantic comedies, then my advice would be to watch it now (rather than waiting for Christmas to watch it), and if you have seen it before then why not give it another viewing and let it provide you with a couple of hours of lighthearted humour and romance.
Tincoco Air Purifier for Home Allergies and Pets Hair with H11 True HEPA Filter Quiet Air Cleaner for Asthma, Smokers, Remove 99.98% of Odors, Dust, Pollen, Perfect for Bedroom - Oly3
Tincoco Air Purifier for Home Allergies and Pets Hair with H11 True HEPA Filter Quiet Air Cleaner for Asthma, Smokers, Remove 99.98% of Odors, Dust, Pollen, Perfect for Bedroom - Oly3
I’ve owned three air purifiers in my lifetime, a Winix, a Honeywell, and this Tincoco OLY-3. Despite having the lowest listed power of the three and being half as expensive, this Tincoco is by far the most effective of the three. I live in an older house that was built in the 1960s, and dust is a big problem. It gets everywhere, I vacuum my bedroom several times a week, but there’s just no getting ahead of it. Every 24 hours, every tabletop is covered in a thin layer of dust, even though the windows and doors are closed almost all day and night. I’m afraid to turn on a night light or a flashlight in the dark because then I can see the omnipresent particles floating through the air and it’s just soul-crushing that despite all the steps I’ve taken, the problem continues. Buy hardwood floors, just say no to carpeting. This is the first air purifier that actually makes a marked difference in terms of dealing with the dust that plagues me so. Unlike my previous two purifiers, I can actually see the dust being sucked in through the device and into the filter, which is very satisfying. With the other two purifiers, I just sort of assumed they were helping even though they didn’t seem to be taking in any dust particles, though I have to say the Winix does a great job of improving the air quality. Tincoco has it right in terms of their engineering with the 360-degree intake. Most other purifiers on the market are designed so that they only take in air from the front, which effectively decreases their performance by 300%. I was looking for a purifier that I could set on a tabletop as I’ve read that placing your purifier above the floor improves performance. I still have the larger Winix running day/night so I felt this smaller unit would do just fine. The lack of a sensor doesn’t bother me at all. It’s a niche feature that isn’t worth paying for in my opinion. If you’re investing in an air purifier, your air quality is poor, why on earth would you need a red light to tell you so? I was hesitant to buy this device because of the complaints of a “chemical,” or “plastic-like,” odor that emanated from it. I have an acute sense of smell and mine has no odor whatsoever. Perhaps that was an issue that was corrected. On top of being extremely effective, this air purifier is far more compact and attractive than any other I’ve owned. It’s modern-looking and could fit in with just about any decor and is so lightweight and compact that I have it on my nightstand. I keep it on the highest of three settings to get the maximum CADR and it’s relatively quiet. I find the white noise at night to be relaxing and it actually blocks out noises that would otherwise wake me up. I’ll never buy an air purifier from another company, and you shouldn’t either.
