The Warren Buffett Shareholder: Stories from Inside the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
The Warren Buffett Shareholder: Stories from Inside the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
I have gone to the meeting for the past 5 years, but missed this one. After getting over my initial FOMO, I was delighted to find out that this book would arrive just in time for me to enjoy while I watched the webcast of the meeting.

And then I REALLY had FOMO.

Cunningham/Cuba do a phenomenal job of curating and arranging these perspectives to imitate the environment of the meeting and surrounding weekend events, and will really make it feel like you're there. If you don't go, you'll really wish to be a part of the events/networking/ethos.

One thing that I was very impressed with was a constant theme of humility. These are accounts from some of the most studied scholars and biggest names in investing and finance, and there was a constant sense of respect and lifelong learning. In Cunningham's forward, he speaks about "coaching" the essayists not to use the regular tropes-- "woodstock of capitalism," etc-- Cunningham's guidance REALLY made the difference when it came to these essays. I was afraid they would get repetitive, especially having been to Omaha a couple of times myself, but no, each essay was extremely enthralling to the very end.
Amazon Income: How Anyone of Any Age, Location, and/or Background Can Build a Highly Profitable Online Business With Amazon
Amazon Income: How Anyone of Any Age, Location, and/or Background Can Build a Highly Profitable Online Business With Amazon
Very well done overview of all different aspects to make money online with Amazon. I was surprised by how many money making methods it covered. Some of the information is already out of date because things change very quickly on the river. However, basic information stays the same. And one of the best features of this book is it gives you just enough information to get started. Most online sellers will tell you that learning from your own experiences (mistakes) is part of the job. I consider this book a great reference tool.
The Startup Owner's Manual: The Step-By-Step Guide for Building a Great Company (DIATEINO)
The Startup Owner's Manual: The Step-By-Step Guide for Building a Great Company (DIATEINO)
This is an incredible resource for how to get a startup up and running. I've been searching for a how-to guide for years and this was the first that gave a complete roadmap (and many, many, many checklists!). It is information heavy, much like a textbook. And it won't handhold you through certain sections, assuming you have an understanding of basic business practices, management, leadership, securing financing, marketing, etc. But it will show you when and how differently you may implement those tools within the startup timeline.

Unfortunately I have to knock it for half a star because of one nagging issue: the publishers did a bad job with the formatting in the book, and that could make it a difficult read -- or at least awkward -- despite the trove of information it contains. It's like someone who designed PowerPoint presentations for a living decided to layout a book that way. So there are a lot of bullets where there could be a different style of callout and the headers for sections aren't consistent. For instance, the author mentions a list of four elements he'll review in more detail. Then each element will have it's own titled paragraph/passage that isn't numbered. But then the next passage after all four has the same style also--wait, is that five elements? Let me go back and check... For an already info heavy book, it makes for awkward reading. Also, I'm not a fan of the switching to semi-bold, san-serif type when mentioning elements solely for digital, but with a black and white book, you can't do something like change the page color.

If v2 of this book was in color, with better and consistent formatting, sidebars for interesting facts, and different page colors to differentiate between, physical, digital, physical/digital, I'd give it SIX STARS!

Elon Musk Young Readers Edition
Elon Musk Young Readers Edition
Do not get dismayed by the title "Young Readers' Edition". I did that at first and bought this book for my 12-year-old brother who recently started making friends with books (thanks to Narendra Modi's Exam Warriors). So I bought it for my brother, but I read the first chapter and I found myself hooked on to this book. The conclusion was me and my brother fighting like Spartans on who gets to read this.

Coming on to the book. It starts by telling you the story of a random boy from South Africa and how he ends up building billion-dollar empires. It's inspiring. Musk went through a lot of bullying and troubled time during his school, he read a lot of books and that's how he became what he is. The book perfectly summarises that. The story has been written in a very entertaining way. I actually like Ashlee's this book more than the original "Elon Musk: How the Billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is Shaping Our Future", specifically the way in which this book is written is appreciable.

Buy it if you seek inspiration from this guy. Lord Elon Musk of Mars will inspire you, your kids, your siblings, everyone who reads this. It can be a life-changer for some readers. You'll be amazed by his determination and ambition.
Secret Gardeners: Britain's Creatives Reveal Their Private Sanctuaries
Secret Gardeners: Britain's Creatives Reveal Their Private Sanctuaries
This is a sumptuous volume for the coffee table and a high-quality product. Why then did it leave me feeling so non-plussed? I suppose because it resembles the approach taken in "Through the Key Hole". A peek into the horticultural lives of the rich and famous. in this sense, of course, sodding Chris Evans and Sting have lovely gardens. The latter probably sits outside eating miso soup, shredded vegetable salad with Tahini dressing and practices his tantric sex on the lawn. Perhaps I am doing these various celebs down but how much love, as opposed to money, has gone into these gorgeous gardens? Indeed, compared with the recent volume by Monty Don "Down to Earth" this book is a bit of froth while Monty's is the full cappuccino. One exception is that I really liked Ozzy Osbournes stately pile. Surprisingly good taste abounds and the phone box in the garden is inspirational. Wonder if he knows where the mower is kept?

Fletcher Henderson and Louis Armstrong 1924-1925
Fletcher Henderson and Louis Armstrong 1924-1925
This is the Musical Heritage Society re-issue of the Timeless of Holland product (available at another entry on Amazon);I snatched it up cheap in a used CD bin down in Chicago, seeing the magic words "John R. T. Davies" on the back cover. I didn't realize that it was an "edited" (leaving out the cuss words) product until I got home. I'm entirely opposed to meddling with history, and was surprised that the great late Davies would have truck with such business. However, I have to say that I've enjoyed listening to this CD. Not only am I surprised that even Davies could extract this kind of listenability from those old acoustic 78's, but I'm amazed that even the great Armstrong was this great this early. These records precede the Hot Fives and Hot Sevens, yet I seem to hear a greater incisiveness, clarity and force than I hear in the first year or so of the Chicago recordings. The radically different arrangements, and presumably, the gentle leadership of Henderson, seem to elicit something still only latent in Louis.

As I say, I'm opposed to cutting and editing and re-writing history, and I agree with everything the previous reviewer said along these lines. In theory, anyway. However, at this stage in Henderson's progress, it was tempting. Davies and company (Dutch jazz enthusiasts working for Timeless) did in fact let several of the records run in toto, and you'll see that the band hadn't gotten very far yet. Coleman Hawkins, though notable, was not yet the great soloist he would become, and in fact is outclassed, to my ears, by the trombonist Charlie Green. And the arrangements, well, I guess I'd have to say most are somewhat banal. Even Don Redman doesn't really shine yet. Compare them to the arrangements Henderson was using later in the Twenties; what a difference. Yes, Louis is the center of attention here. And this CD seems to be more available than the full three-CD Timeless release, or the King Jazz issues (now based in Italy? a label that Mezz Mezrow once had something to do with, if that's any recommendation).

In any event, whatever we may think of this present-day restoration of the music, it seems to me that the music itself represents the birth of the African American jazz mainstream: the collision of black New Orleans music with black East Coast pop music. If you've heard the early King Oliver sides, and even the Red Onion Jazz Babies 78's (recorded right before Louis' trip to New York), you'll hear something very different on these records. The dynamism of the Fletcher Henderson recordings equals, nearly, the Jelly Roll Morton sides of the next year, and if they're aesthetically less striking, they offer a road forward that Morton's best records, innately conservative as they were, did not.
Side Tracks
Side Tracks
This collection is for fans only. It' a great import-only compilation, mainly of the unreleased tracks that were originally featured on Biograph. For good measure, Sony Japan threw in the unreleased tracks from Greatest Hits Vol. 2 and the single tracks George Jackson (available nowhere else, as far as I know), Series Of Dreams from Greatest Hits Vol. 3 & Things Have Changed (from Essential Bob Dylan and The Wonder Boys soundtrack). It also comes with a booklet of lyrics, in Japanese & English.
The only downsides: The CD artwork seems to have been created for the LP format, as it breaks the tracks out into Side 1, Side 2, Side 3, etc. And it's literally unreadable without a magnifying glass, and I mean beyond the usual CD-size font. Too bad because the package is really nice. The Groom Still Waiting at the Altar should have been included, as that was on Biograph-only, until it was subsequently added to the CD of Shot of Love. Also, the version of Dignity included in this set is not the 'single' version from Greatest Hits Vol 3, mixed by Brendan O'Brien; it's either a different mix or a different take altogether.
All that said, it's still a terrific comp for the completists among us. Like me. Worth the dough.
Bob Dylan - Really Easy Piano
Bob Dylan - Really Easy Piano
Four stars for moment. Up date now below
Looks OK but the first song I went to play Lay Lady Lay is in the wrong key being C major the Dylan original version is in B minor I have needed to edit all the written music to the correct key.
The C Major version does not sound right at all.
I am hoping this is the only song scored in the incorrect Key .
Further to the above I have now discovered a Byrds cover was released in C major in playing along with the byrds track in C major the song does sound right , however I wish the score was written in the original Dylan key
Singer & the Song
Singer & the Song
My husband and I both like Dylan and Cash, so I thought this would be a fun CD to have, and maybe bring on a road trip. And there are definitely some good tunes on it, cleverly arraged. But WOW, the sound quality/production value of the Dylan tunes is just beyond low quality! They don't even sound professionally recorded, while the Cash tracks absolutely do. I am not a singer nor a musician nor a sound engineer... in fact, I don't even have a very good "ear" for things like pitch, tone, clarity, etc. But even I could tell that something was "wrong" with Dylan's tracks. I've been listening to Dylan since I was a kid. I have never once thought his harmonica sounded shrill until I heard this CD. Is it possible these recordings are just so old that he didn't play as well back then? Maybe. But that wouldn't explain the other problems with his tracks on this CD... his voice literally fades in and out, to where you can barely hear him at times, and the recording sounds fuzzy and "warped" or warbly (sorry I don't know the technical term for that) in places, like an old cassette that got left in the sun or fell into a pool or something. Not a pleasant auditory experience. I'm not sure how or why Dylan would have released these thoroughly unpolished tunes for public consumption. As is, they sure don't do any justice to his immense talent and legacy. I'm returning it, even though it was cheap.

Piña Colada Scent Professional Air Freshener Pads - Remove The Worst Smells with These Heavy Duty Pads (60 Pads Per Pack) (Piña Colada Scent)
I felt I needed to write my experience with this product to give customers more information to make a decision. I was excited I had found a cinnamon scented auto air freshener that some people gave good reviews. I could not give this a good review. I opened the package and took one out and it smelled somewhat strong. I put in my car with windows up and used the car later on. I could not even smell any cinnamon at all. I only smelled the bad smell I was trying to get rid of. I would not recommend this product at all, it is total waste of money and time. I am returning this item in search of a product that really works.

Original Retro Brand NCAA Face Covering Gaiters 2 Pack
This is tighter because of the fabric. Most of these "gator" type masks are stretchy material. This one is also printed on only one side so you cannot wasily fold it over on itself to make it dual layer. I still wear it, but it lacks the convenience of the stretcher ones that can be two-plied.

I bought this case for my galaxy buds live before I got my galaxy buds live. Yes, I just looked at the pictures they showed and I decided to buy it. But after I installed this case for the galaxy buds live that I just arrived, it proved that I did not buy it wrong. First of all, this case is very cute, and secondly it fits my galaxy buds live perfectly. It looks sturdy and feels good! I would recommend it!
Value Series Pizza Screen Combo Deal - 10", 12", 14" and 16"
Value Series Pizza Screen Combo Deal - 10", 12", 14" and 16"
I usually don't write a review until I have used the product a number of times. Well, all I can say about this item is I wish I had it a long time ago. After struggling at times when trying to get the pizza off of the peel ( even have teflon peel ) on to a stone in the oven, I have found that the use of the screen was the tool that was missing. I first came across the screens when I ordered a pizza and later told the place that this was the best that I had since the crust was done just right, but there was a pattern on the back. I later found that they occasionaly use the screens instead of directly on the oven. After this, I looked for the screens on Amazon and came across this assorted package. After properly seasoning the screens, it was just a matter of spraying them with oil, placing the dough on top ( of course, roll it out first before placing ) and then all of the toppings. Then, no stone required, just place it on a lower oven rack. The pizza comes out perfect and no sticking. I highly recommend these screens for anyone attempting to make their own pizza.
One Piece: Season 1, Fourth Voyage
One Piece: Season 1, Fourth Voyage
First I will talk about the DVDs then I will go on to talk about how well I felt about the service to be.

This DVD contains the end of the Arlong arc (episode 31-45) possibly the most popular and in my own opinion the best arc in the East blue saga, also this set contains the whole of the Lougetown arc not forgetting the Buggy side story arc. To start with I will talk about the end of the Arlong arc, the reasons why I think that the Arlong arc r so good is because all the characters and the plot develop, also there is a really evil villain that in my opinion was needed to make One Piece change from a great story to a brilliant one, don't get me wrong I liked the previous villains such as Kuro and especially Buggy but I just think that Arlong was on a whole different level of evil.

As for the battle I think that this is the first time we really see Luffy acting serious and thoughtful in and out of battle. Luffy and Arlong's fight was alright, but it did seem to drag a little so I would say that Usopp's was my favourite as it was well done and great to see him in another light. Zoro and Sanji's were also good, but there was nothing great and I would probably say that Sanji's was better even thought I prefer Zoro as a character.

All the characters seemed to develop in this arc, from Usopp being brave and fighting the mermen even though he is out matched, Zoro fighting even thought he is still wounded and nearly dead from his fight with Mihawk, thinking about it I would say that Sanji didn't really develop much but that was properly because of the last arc was about him. The biggest character development comes from Nami. At first I and most people thought her to be just greedy thief, cheater and bossy girl, but here we see that there's more to it than meets the eye.

Now on to the main villain, Arlong such a great villain simply because there are no way you can justify him or his actions. I loved Buggy but let's face it he is just a messed up clown, where as Arlong is just pure evil.

Episodes 46 and 47 is the Buggy Side Story, there really isn't much to these to episode over then Buggy gather gathering his crew to seek revenge on Luffy in Loguetown. I found these episodes pretty good, there were several humorous scenes, and by all means they weren't boring and it was I nice break after the intense arc we just went though.

Now on to the Loguetown Arc (episodes 48-53) I really liked this arc because each episode focuses on a single character. I would say that episode 48 is Luffy's episode in which he frantically seeks to find the platform where Gold Roger was executed. Episode 49 is Zoro's episode in which we see him getting a new katana. Episode 50 was Usopp's. Episode 51 was based around Sanji entering a cooking. Episodes 52 and 53 are where the fun begins we get to see Buggy and his crew as they finally attack the Straw Hats and prepare to execute Luffy, Luffy battles Captain Smoker and we are introduced to the mysterious character Dragon.

All in all i really liked this set probably more than the last one it was great, as for the condition of it and the service, I thought that they where both great and as advertised. Once again it is over to discs and in a slim pack case.
A Prison Diary
A Prison Diary
As a fan of Jeffrey Archer's novels, I was intrigued to learn of his time in prison. I am a die-hard audio book addict, so I was delighted to find this in audio book format. The narrator does an excellent job, and overall adds to book's persona.

The book details the first few weeks Archer spent in Belmarsh prison, while waiting transfer to his assigned prison. The tone of the book is very matter-of-fact and reads like he is reciting his schedule. What makes it interesting is that it is his schedule of his prison routine.

Much is made over the fact that Belmarsh is a top security prison, home to serious criminals such as murderers and rapists. But on the whole, Archer is well treated by both the prison personnel and the inmates. He is even able to maintain his usual writing schedule. The biggest hardships appear to be the food and being confined to his cell for 22 hours per day.

Overall, it is an interesting peek into one person's experience in prison. I would be interested in reading the other two books in the series, and hope they become available in audiobook format.
15th Affair (Women's Murder Club)
15th Affair (Women's Murder Club)
I chose 4 rather than 5 stars for several reasons: it earned at least 4 stars because of so much action - including shooting to kill - almost from the beginning of the book; however, it didn't get 5 stars because so many people were involved at the beginning that it was hard to get their names and how they fit in. What made if most difficult at the beginning is that the primary character, a young woman and homicide Sargent named Lindsay Conklin, spoke directly to the reader, making "I" statements, but the people she spoke with often didn't reciprocate and tell us her name! Lindsay has a baby at home along with a housekeeper during the day. Early on Lindsay realizes that inexplicably, she hasn't seen her husband Joe, whom she loves, for a few days, even tho often enough they work such different hours that they just meet briefly. When the days pass into a week and still Joe hasn't responded to any of Lindsay's texts or phone messages, she becomes very worried. She and we readers begin to what's going on: was their marriage a farce or is he get killed or imprisoned?
Thankfully, this book had short chapters, so I had a chance to breathe and momentarily relax. Even though I couldn't always understand or picture exactly what was happening or why I relished reading this. Occasionally there were also some really good sentences; for example "Muller was watching me like a cat at the window that's spotted a bird".

Detektiv Conan 76

Unspoken Desire
Unspoken Desire
I have enjoyed Penny Jordan's books. This book, like all her others-depict stories of ordinary people believing in love and when love sometimes eludes them and how they find back the love.
Unspoken Desire is about Rebecca who fell in love with her second cousin, Frazer Aysgarth when she was eighteen but things turned sour when Frazer's younger brother,Rory had an affair with Frazer's fiancee and Rebecca became the scapegoat by letting Rory tell his brother that he and Rebecca were lovers. Rebecca sacrified herself because Rory made her believe that Frazer loved his fiancee and she wanted to protect him. Rebecca was subsequently banned from Aysgarth... Eight years later, when her Aunt Maud summoned her to assist her in taking care of Rory's twins at Aysgarth, Rebecca returned when she learned that Frazer was away. Frazer cancelled his tour and came back just in time to safe Rebecca from the weir pool where she thought that one of the twins fell in. When Rory came back for a visit, Frazer announced that he and Rebecca were engaged. Rory being jealous of Frazer tried to dig up the past but Rebecca could not tell Frazer the truth that she had never had a relationship with anyone, never mind Rory for fear the Frazer would want to know what prompted her sacrifice. When Frazer eavesdropped on Rebecca's argument with Rory, he learned the truth and revealed to Rebecca that Rory knew how he felt about Rebecca but he made Frazer believe that Rebecca had an affair with him and he let Rebecca believe thar Frazer loved someone else. All ends well in marriage... Penny Jordan is one of the most gifted writer of today and I will continue to read and enjoy her books.

Smashing It: Working Class Artists on Life, Art and Making It Happen
This book was so repetative. Some of the pieces where very interesting and engaging, sheading light and attention to the experience of being a working artist. However 50% of the articles where just people complaining without much original content, perhaps it was down to editors not looking it as a whole book.

The Greek Mythology in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"
This is a very organized and thorough comparison between aspects of Harry Potter and Greek mythology. The text is very understandable but with enough knowledge to move it beyond simplistic. The book is also organized well with ten classifications. A must for a true Harry Potter fan!

Supershieldz for Google Pixel Slate Tempered Glass Screen Protector, 0.33mm, Anti Scratch, Bubble Free
Supershieldz for Google Pixel Slate Tempered Glass Screen Protector, 0.33mm, Anti Scratch, Bubble Free
What an absolute waste of money.

Bought this for my Pixel Slate to protect my screen seeing as it's a high-usage touch screen device.

I'm a stickler for aesthetics and while this looks good, installs easily (if you follow the instructions, perfectly), is bubble free ... UNTIL you get to the edges!

No matter what you do almost the entire circumference does not sit flat or bond with the screen. Essentially the entire edge looks like one big bubble and makes the entire device look cheap and horrible.

Don't waste your money, just look after your device, keep the screen clean and you don't need to bring down it's aesthetics with one of these nasty things. If I was still inside my Amazon return period for this I would not hesitate to return it for a full refund!

I'd already built the set, but following the instructions it was quite straightforward to know what part of the build to remove and how to install the lights. Everything went together very nicely, love the purple hue of the 'spires' on the hut - both wife and daughter think it looks cool. The hardest part is connecting the lead to the 'hub', because they are small - but they have to be small. When finished everything looks quite clean and wires are easy to tuck out of sight!

I've had it a year now and only purchased 3 day passes worth because it's always SO Slow. I'm surprised they even charge for this slow of service and it doesn't matter where we're at. We can be someplace really busy or with virtually no-one around and cell towers in site and you still never get more that 1 Mbps download speeds, usually it's half of that. As I type this I'm within site of DFW airport and getting 490Kbps speeds.
Interesting that I can turn on my cell phone hotspot right next to this device and get 5 to 6 times faster Internet that way. The other issue is how close you need to be to connect at all to this device. If you're 50 feet away you might as well forget it. It's built in wifi signal is weak and, I tried connecting this to our portable router to improve the signal and this device broadcasts on a radio signal our modem can't connect to... must be 5g wifi only?
Last issue, half of the time we can't even get the device to communicate with its Home to activate so we spend more time messing with it than using it.
If you're US only, skip this thing and just go buy a real hotspot.
Beyond Collisions: How to build your entrepreneurial infrastructure (Changing the Economy) (Volume 1)
Beyond Collisions: How to build your entrepreneurial infrastructure (Changing the Economy) (Volume 1)
Anyone who is assisting entrepreneurs and building entrepreneurial communities should absorb this book. The best feature of Maria Meyers and KatePope Hodel’s book is, as the authors state, “it is about assembling the ingredients” for an entrepreneurial infrastructure “not baking the cake.” The book delivers effectively on this promise. Particular highlights for me include:

“The key point of difference between ecosystems and infrastructure is that ecosystems emerge, almost organically, from a number of different actions and activities. No organization or person “creates” an ecosystem. We can however, build an infrastructure that supports, encourages and sustains the elements that make up a healthy ecosystem.”

The book clearly recognizes the challenge for all of us in building innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, namely “…entrepreneurs are interested in entrepreneurship …. Not terrible interested in the entrepreneurial infrastructure.” As stated “you need more than just entrepreneurs.”
What the book says directly and indirectly about leadership and champions, such as leaders standing in the background and letting others take the credit, deserves to be widely promoted.

The book will be a significant step towards meeting the needs of entrepreneurs for tools and insights into ‘what works’ and how to measure it so we can move towards the next objective of “baking the cake.”

My former go-to pen (and I am just a tad bit of a pen freak) was the Uniball .38 point which I bought at Staples. But my job changed and now getting to Staples is totally inconvenient for me. I looked on Amazon for them, but they weren't there. However, I saw these .3 tip pens by Pentel. I have .5 tip pens by Pentel that I love also, so decided to try these. I have a new love in pens!! The line is the perfect size, it's smooth, it doesn't skip. I am in love with this pen!!!

Carvapet 2 Pieces Soft Fluffy Faux Fur Chair Couch Cover Plush Sheepskin Area Rug Bedroom Living Room 2 x 3 Feet,Black/White
These 2 cute faux fur rugs add personality to my daughters’ rooms. They are fluffy and soft. I bought a faux fur rug from another brand for my son’s teepee as well, & it is not as fluffy / thick / soft. I did shake, fluff, & gently brush right out of the box. It seems like it would handle being laundered delicately. Perfect for kids since they are a bargain. I am considering more for my living area table & my office chair....

GMUDA Compatible with iPhone 12 Pro Max Case, Liquid Silicone Shockproof Drop Protection Cover for 6.7inch - Red
This iphone case is great. It has a great feel to it, and does not slip when holding it. The material is durable and does not scratch – it stays looking sleek. The volume and power button still click well while using it. It also looks beautiful and very clean, fitting around my phone with a perfect, snug fit. The case prevents the iphone from being damaged from drops. In addition, it feels good while I am holding it and does not slip from my hands. Overall, this is a great case, doing its job as protection for the iphone, while also looking great and sleek.
Mikrotik RB3011UIAS-RM RouterBOARD 10xGigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, LCD, RB3011
Mikrotik RB3011UIAS-RM RouterBOARD 10xGigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0, LCD, RB3011
I'm partner in a multi-national MSP, and have deployed hundreds of Mikrotik devices. In short, this is the best "bang-for-your-buck" router possible for a small-medium size business.

The RB3011 is an absolute monster router for the price. $170 for a 1U 10-port gigabit, SFP, and 6Gbps of WAN>LAN potential throughput. Though none of the ports can go faster than 1Gbps, the processing power is still there. When I ran a comparison of the specs between this and say, an equivalent Sonicwall (already lower-end gear), it's $170 for a RB3011-RM vs a $3,400 for a Sonicwall NSA 2600, more features too.

When you hold the device it feels like a prop, it's nearly empty since Mikrotik designs their equipment around CPU-based routing over dedicated hardware. It allows for the feature-set to be upgraded over time, increases reliability, and massively reduces cost. Though it's not uncommon for a switch to fail... and it's not impossible for a CPU to fail, when is the last time you've see a mid-range (non-server) CPU actually just completely die? Probably pretty rare. We have a few Mikrotik routers with over 3 years uptime, just cranking along without issues.

Another benefit -- everything is unlocked, no insane licensing fees like with Cisco gear! 50+ L2TP VPN users -- no problem! MPLS, Wireless Hotspot through the CAPsMAN Wireless Manager, Layer7 filtering. Mikrotik gives you all of the bells and whistles to work with, but no hand-holding -- you need to be familiar with network concepts and spend some time following their wiki. Mikrotik equipment is targeted at Wireless ISPs and networking professionals -- not for beginners to computers.

Good luck, have fun, for $170 it can't hurt to buy one and play with it a bit. Once you see the feature set for yourself, you'll likely be buying more of these.
