The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience
The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs: How to Be Insanely Great in Front of Any Audience
Are you a salesman who likes to pitch a "story" about your company in the first five minutes of meeting a new prospect? Have you ever been annoyed when the "product marketing geek" hands you back your PowerPoint with about 20 extra "bullet points"? Have you ever felt crestfallen when the VP of Sales hands you a 35-page PowerPoint on the way into your sales meeting and asks you to deliver it in 20 minutes? Have you ever cringed when one of your colleagues reads the slides on the screen and turns her back to the audience, in order to see the words better? Have you ever fallen asleep during a presentation conducted in the dark of night required for a projector to work? Have you ever felt physically ill at the prospect of being invited to watch someone else's PowerPoint?

If you have answered, "Yes", to any of these questions, then this book is for you. This book vindicates your feeling that there is a better way to conduct sales meetings, to craft PowerPoint presentations, and to use the technology towards the purpose for which it was designed. Granted, this is not the only book that makes this claim - and it does seem that there is a cottage industry among "communications consultants" who have written similar books - but this is clearly the best one I've read.

And, this is for two reasons I think: First, Gallo focuses on one person's presentation style - Steve Jobs - on whom we can all agree that he is a master of this game. And, second, Gallo has done the hard work of identifying and outlining what makes Jobs' presentations really work. Jobs creates a storyline, treats the presentation as theater, and enacts it as performance.

With Gallo as a guide - and his suggestion that we all study Jobs's presentations available on YouTube - we are encouraged to have the courage to give better presentations and to stand up to our colleagues and superiors who insist on giving the same old boring PowerPoint presentation, because "it is what it is."

The only reason that I didn't give this book a 5-star rating is that Gallo suggests that we, like Jobs, create drama in our presentations by offering a foil or enemy, like Jobs does with Microsoft. I have always felt that this was hokey and unnecessary, and although I'm a Mac enthusiast, I wish Apple would stop doing this. If you can get past this minor criticism, you will rate this a 5-star book for yourself.
How to Think Like Steve Jobs
How to Think Like Steve Jobs
And always produce and market unconventional products of superior design and quality. That, in essence, is what this compact, simply-phrased and written book is about. It is essentially an outline of Jobs’s blueprint for his commercial success. It consists of short, unnumbered chapters subtitled with quotations from Jobs applicable to the topic of each chapter. The author distilled lessons Jobs learned, concepts he initiated, and the business tactics he developed from a limited number of in-depth reference sources which he briefly mentions absent a bibliography. Each chapter, brings out something unique about Jobs, and is supported by a limited number of examples. If you want to bypass the long, heavily-detailed books written about Jobs, you might want to consider this book to grasp Jobs’ outlook of his business life quickly.

Plaintiff in Chief: A Portrait of Donald Trump in 3,500 Lawsuits
Plaintiff in Chief: A Portrait of Donald Trump in 3,500 Lawsuits
I came to Plaintiff in Chief with high curiosity. I have followed its author, Jim Zirin, through his writings in Forbes, The Los Angeles Times and The Washington Times and through his television program. I have always regarded Jim as brilliant. His distinguished career as an attorney bears out that judgment, as does the quality of Plaintiff in Chief. In the first place, this is an assiduously researched book. The sheer volume of information, fact and detail, is almost overwhelming. The context provided for understanding and appreciating the information is impeccable. Jim writes in extraordinarily clear prose, making legal concepts easy to understand and the facts of the veritable blizzard of Trump lawsuits—those he has filed and those brought against him—embarrassingly clear.

It is not uncommon to say that someone is, “a fabulous character.” Often this is praise, at other times awed disbelief that such a personality can actually carry on in normal society. If, like many, you have thought that Donald Trump is, “a fabulous character,” you may well come away from Plaintiff in Chief realizing that you did not know the half of it.

Jim Zirin has constructed his portrait of Mr. Trump around the man’s extraordinary history in litigation. He develops the portrait in nine titled chapters that take the reader through the background of Mr. Trump’s family, his first lawsuit, and his move from “the provinces” (my term) to the “big time”—ie. from practicing real estate in Queens, Staten Island and Brooklyn, to breaking out in Manhattan. This move was fateful, as it resulted in Mr. Trump’s meeting Roy Cohn, who became his litigation and strategy guru and, to a notable degree, guiding light. It also produced a veritable carnival of questionable maneuvering, financing, mob interactions and shoddy business practices that left either Mr. Trump or his erstwhile business partners or service providers with ample reason to sue. The suits usually sought damages or other sanctions for Mr. Trump’s allegedly improper conduct. Mr. Trump’s actions were often pre-emptive blandishments, or counter suits intended to intimidate or to head off the outraged claims of an adversary possibly unable to sustain prolonged legal battle. There are chapters on Mr. Trump’s Atlantic City/ casino phase, with its rich harvest of bankruptcy and other filings, his use of litigation to protect the Trump brand, his adventures and misadventures with women, the fraud of Trump University and a closing word.

One comes away from Plaintiff in Chief shaking his head. How can a man of such character and ethics have not only become wealthy beyond most measure, but also risen to claim the highest office in our democracy? As one who appreciates certain of the president’s accomplishments, I feel cheated that his character is not worthy of the good he has occasionally done. It is clear that Mr. Zirin is appalled by Mr. Trump—but he maintains a low-key tone throughout the book. Knowing what he knows both as an attorney and as the prodigious researcher of this effort, that is an accomplishment.

Don’t miss this one. As reader, you get to sit in a comfortable chair and listen to the clear, modest, educated, experienced—and polite—voice of a very smart man. As a citizen, you gain a most unusual understanding of our 45th president.
A Mind at Play: How Claude Shannon Invented the Information Age
A Mind at Play: How Claude Shannon Invented the Information Age
For years, I have been reading references to Claude Shannon because of his involvement in so many critical developments in science, communications, Bell Labs, and even the stock market. About his sense of humor or his riding a unicycle through Bell Labs – while juggling (a favorite hobby). And about his groundbreaking, earth-shaking realization that all communication, from voice to music to documents to photos – is all data and could be treated the same way. Without this insight, I could not post this review today. But there was no way to get my fill of Claude Shannon – no biographies or documentaries of an American genius who lived until 2001! A Mind At Play begins to fill this yawning gap (and it seems a documentary is finally in the works as well).

Shannon was a natural. He simply did. Whatever caught his eye. He invented machines all his life, designed them, machined them, theorized their optimization, and cleared the air on numerous topics that concerned them. His great gift to us was his reductionism. He could look at a problem and strip away the redundancies, the tangents, the superfluities – and the noise. Especially the noise. The bare core that was left was now addressable and solvable. With that, he could add back the other factors as needed. It made his solutions elegant. This clarity of vision is dispiritingly rare. That a man of his many other abilities had it has benefitted the world disproportionately.

He was in it for the intellectual challenge. While other scientists won Nobel Prizes, fame, fortune, privilege and rank, Shannon shunned the limelight and kept working (and playing). “Down to Earth” doesn’t begin to describe him. His toy room served him to the end. He hated speeches, and preferred playing the clarinet (or chess) to lecturing. This was in no way a stock-standard scientist. His brilliance was evident to everyone throughout his long life. And he worked with all of the most brilliant.

My favorite story in the book is when his young daughter brought out a package of toothpicks and dropped them all over the wood plank floor. Rather than scold her or instruct her to clean it right up, Shannon observed: ”You know, you could calculate the value of pi from that.” I also liked the index finger he installed in the basement toy room. When his wife wanted him to come upstairs, she pulled the cord in the kitchen and the finger curled upward. This man makes for a fascinating biography.

Among his great discoveries was how to eliminate noise. Noise in the transmission of data corrupts it, making the message incomplete, wrong or unintelligible. Shannon broke down elements to their smallest, and assigned them numeric labels. If you gave (say) a letter a two digit equivalent, you would get a wrong letter if one of the digits was blurred by noise. By giving them longer strings of digits, they could tolerate noise and still be correct at the receiving end. This sort of outside the box thinking revolutionized countless industries.

We owe Claude Shannon a lot, and Soni & Goodman’s book takes a big first step in paying that debt.

Isopure Zero Carb Unflavored 25g Protein, 100% Whey Protein Isolate, Keto Friendly Protein Powder, No Added Colors/Flavors/Sweeteners, GMO Free, 3 Pound (Packaging May Vary)
I went from using hemp protein powder to using this, so clearly, there was a big difference on its impact in my smoothies. Hemp protein powder is very earthy and takes over everything, whereas this one allows me to at least taste the berries. However, "unflavoured" shouldn't make you assume you don't taste it. It will come through unless you use a small amount. My husband says it tastes like typical protein powder whereas I find it gives a very pronounced, slightly-strange dairy flavour to the smoothie. Is it gross? No, but you can certainly taste it. Would I drink it alone with water? No, probably not.
I appreciate the ingredient list being very minimal (that being the whole reason I bought it), and the photo on Amazon is exactly what you get. It comes with a scoop in the packaging. As someone not very experienced with protein powders, I still have some exploring to do, but this is not a bad choice.

The stylus wore out very quickly. Only used for about two weeks and then the stylus became useless. The pen also stuck in the writing position so now all it is good for is writing. If you are looking for something cute to put in your pencil holder then this will be fine. If you actually want a pen/stylus combination that works, then pass on this item.

Note, I have used more than one of these and have not gotten more than two weeks use out of any of them.
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
Diary Of A Wimpy Kid
I've never written a review on amazon before but we typically purchase our videos rather than rent. Being prime members, we love amazon and we purchased this video to watch with our 3 kids as a family thinking it was similar to the books. Even my kids were unimpressed and as parents, we were outright sickened. For fellow Christians, there is a somewhat scary scene for sensitive young audience members that talks about a haunted wood of devil worshipers on halloween. In addition, there is reference to a pornographic magazine 3 times throughout the film. The entire film is full of crude remarks and misguided behavior. Parents seem to be uninvolved and the main character continues to make poor choices until the very end. My kids thankfully overlooked some of the inappropriate scenes due to their age. We are not by any means prudish and are pretty flexible with what we watch but this film contained not only unnecessary behaviors and weird, gross material but overall was plain slow and boring. My kids were bored as well and fell asleep. I continued to watching it hoping it may get better or have some good message righting all the wrongs and lessons to be learned but sadly this one missed the mark. Wish I could return it for a refund. Definitely disappointed I purchased this.
Green Lantern (2011)
Green Lantern (2011)
The Green Lantern got panned by the critics when it came out. Ryan Reynolds who played the Lantern said he didn’t like the movie either and made a small jab at it in the first Deadpool. Given how bad the subsequent DC films were however, maybe it needs to be re-evaluated.

The story focuses upon Hal (Reynolds) being picked to be the Green Lantern. He has to take on an alien known as Parallax that harnesses the power of fear. He infects a scientist named Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard). At the same time Parallax itself is heading towards the home planet of the Green Lantern Corps.

Hammond may look goofy as the villain with his head swelling up to a huge size, but the story provided him with good motivation. He was a genius in his field, and yet felt slighted by everyone. His resentment fueled his actions. On the other hand when he gets the huge head some people act like there’s nothing the matter with him. That’s a bad bit of writing.

Some criticized the film for having too much CGI including the Green Lantern’s costume. That might not have been needed but the rest is fine. The Green Lantern turns his thoughts into reality using his ring and there is no way else to create that other than computer graphics. There was also a crack in the Green Lantern corps that created added tension.

Making a comparison today The Green Lantern really is better than almost all the DC releases.

This is my favorite monopoly so far. Probably ever!
If I could rate this 20 stars I would ! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

There is a spot in the board called (low blow) when you land here, you now have the chance to steal a deed card (property) from one player, its a cool spot to land on if you need to complete a set and someone else has the deed card you need, or just useful if you’re trying to keep someone from completing a set. But whatch out though, its not so funny once someone else lands there and steals your deed cards lol

There is also an other spot on the board called (cheap shot) when you land here, the player with the least amount of money has to pay you $100! You can see how this is useful right? Well, if you’re going broke here’s $100 for you ☺️

These two spots in the board make the game super fun and not to mention when you collect the money once you land on free parking, players will have to “pay the pool” if landed on that space, money that has been paid to the pool will be placed at the center of the board and collected by the player who lands on free parking.

Such fun twist to the game. If you’re not a fan of monopoly because of the long hours it takes to play, this game will make time fly!

The longest game we have played with this board was 8 hours and i’m telling you we didnt even notice it felt like 30 minutes to us 😂

One Piece, Vol. 36 (36)
One Piece, Vol. 36 (36)
One Piece used to be published in Brazil and I used to buy every single booklet here. It was available in a different format, as half a tankobon once a month. We would never reach Japan, though it was still published faster than the US (while we were close to ending Skypiea, you were still in Alabasta). But then, the publisher started showing signs of weakness - the production values dropped and delays were frequent. And finally, at the 70th booklet (Vol. 35 of the original together with 69), they dropped One Piece and out of the manga business altogether (they now only publish very cheap manhwa).

Thankfully, that coincided with Viz Media's plans of catching up with Japan - and so I decided that I couldn't drop One Piece at where it stopped (I just saw Usopp fight Luffy and leave the crew, for God's sake!). It wouldn't be cheap, I'd have to pay in full and wait a month for it to arrive. But at last it did, and as I read it, the conclusion couldn't be more evident: after all this years, and even with the price increase, One Piece is still worth it.

Water Seven is proving out to be the best and most eventful One Piece arc so far. It has always been a story of friendship, strength and willpower, but here is where all of those things are put to the test. It's particularly satisfying for those of us who have followed it for years. But if you haven't read One Piece yet: you have the privilege of seeing this arc unfold without having to wait. Don't miss it! I guarantee you it is well worth your time and effort.

Tuesday, December 27, 2011, from my blogspot.. Aleph, by Paulo Coelho
When you read Coehlo, you go on a soul journey. This is not one of his best books, in my estimation, but I stuck with it, and came away with the best way to describe life to young people who are still learning.the hard way. His analogy of a train is a wonderful way to describe to young people the way life is.

Imagine life as a train and a train car you are riding in, any time you want to change that car, it is within you to be able to get up and walk into the next car, and the next car and so on. What a good way to say it! You can choose your car, your travel mates, etc. Books like this , which cause us to examine our lives are a wonderful way to relax and try to understand the why and what of life. They often help you to analyze what is happening and why you are bringing sad events into your life, that you can control by your choices.

Can we all go on a long journey in real life and discover the answers to our questions, I think not. The train trip is also an analogy of life itself, as a long journey, that leads us to meet people, and someone in that crowd of people, if we give him or her time to know us , has answers for our soul, if we want to stop and try to discover , try to understand, etc. How often will any of us ever get this opportunity? Maybe never in this life time, and then maybe through introspection you realize that someone was a motivator in your life, sacrificing his or her own life to give you a lesson that awakens your soul. Maybe this is hard to understand, but I tried in my book to say this, under cover of stories from different people, about events that happened in their lives.

So, if you want to spend some time with your soul try a little Coelho.

Hunting Lost Mines By Helicopter: Adventure in the American Desert
Interesting book. I would have preferred a 'pinch' more insight into the Lost Dutchman legend, but perhaps that is being unfair. Most of us interested in this topic could not afford the expense of helicopter-camping ... although if we could, we certainly would have explored more of the semi-inaccessible places.
adidas Women's Ultraboost 20 Running Shoe
adidas Women's Ultraboost 20 Running Shoe
I am an avid Adidas running shoe wearer and the new Ultraboost 20 fully met my expectations. My first impressions after testing the shoes is that they are nicely constructed, perform very well, and are extremely comfortable, with significantly increased stability when compared to Ultraboost 19. I love the comfort of the 19s, but they tend to be much looser. Ultraboost 20 still have the sock feel, while there is stronger support and stability, especially in the arch and heel areas, which runners with flat feet like myself will appreciate. These are true to size, but if you're new to Adidas, you'll likely want to go half a size smaller. Adidas shoes tend to run big. I'm usually 7-7.5 in other brands, but always 6.5 in Adidas, with a few exceptions such as Ultraboost X LTD and Adizero, which I found be be quite narrower than other models. Note that Ultraboost 20 may feel very tight at first, because of their firmer construction, but they loosen up after a few runs. Still, if you like to wear thick socks and have some room, I'd recommend to go a size up. The style is also quite impressive.

Mein allerschönstes Wörterbuch
Classic Richard Scarry pictures in a host of various settings (fire station, family home, kitchen, farm, etc) which identify objects in a fun and colorful manner. My children choose this book for their nap time book and love to point out whichever picture I am saying in German. Or, sometimes I ask, "What's that?... in German, please" and they love to see who can say it first. Does a great job of assigning "a" and "the" in masculine and feminine forms for each noun; ie: ein Hahn, a rooster; eine Henne, a hen.

Heir to Murder (The Adair Affairs Book 1847)
Heir to Murder (The Adair Affairs Book 1847)
The reading order of the series is as follows:

“The Adair Legacy” (published 2014)

Her Secret, His Duty by Carla Cassidy
Executive Protection by Jennifer Morey
Special Ops Rendezvous by Karen Anders
Secret Service Rescue by Elle James

And then comes:

“The Adair Affairs” (published 2015)

Carrying His Secret by Marie Ferrarella
The Marine’s Temptation by Jennifer Morey
Secret Agent Boyfriend by Addison Fox
Heir to Murder by Elle James

Read the books in the above-mentioned order, and you are good to go!

Needless to say, as all the books in both the series come under the Mills & Boon imprint of ‘Romantic Suspense’, all of the above have tons of suspenseful action! Published a year apart, you can draw parallels between the books of the two series. There are many similarities in their storylines, and it surprised me a lot as nowhere it is given that there is any link between the two series, and I myself stumbled upon them almost a year apart! Thankfully, I had read ‘The Adair Legacy’ first; otherwise, it would have been a bit of a spoiler.

I love the way Kate’s character has been written and also how beautifully it has shaped up over the course of the 8 books. While all other characters are flitting in and out, she is the only constant. Even if briefly, she appears in all the books and makes her appearance count (always the ‘matchmaker’)! Also, being the former vice-president, you almost don’t expect the homey atmosphere of ‘Winston Estate’ which welcomes you to the books, especially in ‘The Adair Legacy’ series.

Both the series are the individual stories of three brothers and their sister, with the only exception being the sister’s daughter replacing her in ‘The Adair Legacy’ (which makes Kate a Grandma!)

Her Secret, His Duty (by Carla Cassidy)
(The Adair Legacy #1)
What I felt about this one is that it could have had a bit more romance. And the same goes for:
Carrying His Secret (by Marie Ferrarella)
(The Adair Affairs #5)
Appearing under the category of ‘Romantic Suspense’ these two appeared to have missed the romance a little.
Similarities: Both are classic M&B ‘secret’ pregnancy tropes with the eldest sons (Trey and Whit) heading their respective businesses while the female protagonists (Debra and Elizabeth) work for one of their parents (part office romance).

Executive Protection (by Jennifer Morey)
(The Adair Legacy #2)
And
The Marine’s Temptation (again, by Jennifer Morey)
(The Adair Affairs #6)
Similarities: The first one above has the lady convincing the man about falling in love while the second one is vice-versa. But of course, it is only if you narrow it down to that; otherwise, both the books are great to read.

Now’s where the order is getting a bit muddled, as far as similarities are concerned.
Special Ops Rendezvous (by Karen Anders)
(The Adair Legacy #3)
Secret Service Rescue (by Elle James)
(The Adair Legacy #4)
And
Secret Agent Boyfriend (Addison Fox)
(The Adair Affairs #7)
Heir to Murder (by Elle James)
(The Adair Affairs #8)
Similarities: While #4 and #7 have secret agents (Daniel and Derek) acting out as boyfriends to their respective female protagonists (Shelby and Landry) as a ruse for investigative purposes, #4 and #8 are all about long-lost identities (of Shelby and Jackson).

While the first series deals almost entirely with an ‘attempt to murder’, the second series deals with an ‘actual’ murder.

And one thing which is common to all of them is that ‘someone is always trying to kill someone’, so definitely suspenseful!

Special Mention: Be sure not to miss Elle James’ books as both of the titles will send you on a roller-coaster ride of nail-gripping action. (I am writing this while searching for more Elle James books. I have fallen in love with her writing!)

Boggled your brains? Well, read it out and then you will know!

Female Force #9 Stephenie Meyer
Female Force #9 Stephenie Meyer
Let's be honest here: Stephenie Meyer has had a pretty boring life. She basically got married, had kids, and wrote a fantasy series about sparkly vampires.

So needless to say -- with no scandals, divorces, addictions, adventures or the like -- "Female Force Bestsellers: Stephenie Meyer" is a pretty boring experience. But it's not just boring. It's surreally bad and poorly done, with ghastly art, a breathlessly dramatic style and a horrendously contrived framing device wrapped around a thoroughly unexciting life story.

According to the author Ryan Burton, Meyer was an oh-so-special and down-to-earth girl ("It seemed as though every OTHER girl was... DIFFERENT"), and of course way smarter than her peers (both in high school and college, she alone is raising her hand). She went to Brigham Young University in Utah, and a spider got eaten by a vampire. Whoops, that was the framing narrative, so forget about that.

Anyway, she met some guy she had once shared a sandbox with, and they got married in less than a year. Three kids later, Stephenie had a dream about spying on a thuggish-looking vampire trying to make out with some blonde chick in a field (and she frankly looks like a dream voyeur spying on teenagers). She constructed a story around that dream, and ended up selling it -- and of course, it became a megahit and was adapted into a movie, took the world by storm, blah blah blah.

Because the unadorned life story of Meyer would take up about five pages, Burton frames it: A shark-mouthed Dracula living in a cliche Transylvanian castle (complete with graveyard and howling wolf), who is apparently telling Meyer's life story to a gang of grunting naked nosferatu. Not only is this hilariously cheesy, but it provides the unintentional message that Meyer is carrying out the will of evil monsters.

The biography oozes along at a glacial pace, with two whole pages devoted to shopping the manuscript around. The most mundane facts are written in a breathlessly melodramatic style ("Stephenie was 21 when she married Christian... also known as PANCHO") with lots of details that only her most fanatical fans would care about (who cares where the name "Stephenie" came from?). There's even a transparent attempt to equate Meyer with her self-insert Bella Swan (oh, how different and smart she is!).

And the artwork is simply ghastly -- Meyers has an evil grin, sinister eyebrows, freakishly tiny hands, and she looks EXACTLY the same from the age of four onward. Her husband's head looks like a mediocre Picasso work, and the Twilight fans appear to be a bunch of large-breasted grannies, mad-eyed adolescents and... coffee shop singers? And as the final hilarious conceit, it's sprinkled with topographic maps, and a bizarre page in which UTAH appears in the palm of Meyer's hand.

In short, the art makes the entire comic seem like a Stephenie Meyers acid trip. The funniest part is that they don't even get Meyer's characters right -- both Bella and Edward are washed-out blondes with wormlike lips, and Edward has spiky little fangs. Wha?

"Female Force Bestellers: Stephenie Meyer" reads like a bad drug trip, with spider-chomping vampires, horrendous art and lots of surreal extras. Good for a laugh, but nothing else.

CliffsNotes on Nicholas Sparks' A Walk to Remember (Cliff Notes)
I was excited to get THE CLIFFSNOTES and begin reading it after finishing the novel, A WALK TO REMEMBER. It wasn't exactly what I thought it would be but found it helpful just the same. I was hoping for more of an outline of the novel from the author. It did give a complete description of the entire story though it was not in Sparks' perspective. The section that I got the most from was towards the end, The Character Analyses, and the section on, Critical Essays.
Little Miss Twins (Mr. Men and Little Miss)
Little Miss Twins (Mr. Men and Little Miss)
I bought this book for my twin babies who love to read. I read some of the other reviews of this book, which is why I am compelled to write my own. Some of the writing is a little awkward to an adult, yes, but I remembered loving this series when I was young (that's why I bought it), and my 15 mo old girls love it. They really love it. It's certainly not too long for their attention span. I've noticed people tend to give up if they read a book once to their kids & it doesn't hold their attention. - I do not let that be a sticking point for my trying a book. The book we purchased is very small & it's paperback, so our copy has seen better days at this point, but it has held up surprisingly well despite it. Plus, it provides an opportunity to teach the girls how to treat/handle books.
The SPECTRE Trilogy: Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice (James Bond - Extended)
The SPECTRE Trilogy: Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, You Only Live Twice (James Bond - Extended)
As my Kindle library replaces my hard-copies (when all books can be "large type" books, I know where my tired old eyes will be!) this was a tremendous addition. From SPECTRE's introduction (Special Executive for Counterintelligence, Revenge and Extortion - and I didn't need to look it up... Anyone recall what UNCLE stood for?) in Thunderball, easily one of Fleming's best novels, through the attack on Piz Gloria and the death of Tracy (sorry...) to the final battle in which the Blofelds lose their lives but Bond his mind, reading these three at a single go is the best immersion into Bond Land one can desire. Let's face it, Man With the Golden Gun, Spy Who Loved Me, even Moonraker is showing creaky age. And Live and Let Die, in the unexpurgated, has almost come back around the other side as an example of 'incidental and institutional racism" but as a thriller, it doesn't hold a candle to these masterworks.
Harry Potter Gryffindor House Color and Crest Striped Acrylic Scarf
Harry Potter Gryffindor House Color and Crest Striped Acrylic Scarf
Initially I bought this for my son's Halloween costume but it is long enough even for me to wear so I use it for everyday these days. Super soft, long and in great quality. Everyone who sees it instantly recognize it. Have been wearing it for many days now and it still soft as ever with no pilling. Recommended!
The Magical Harry Potter Cookbook: 45 Mouthwatering and Exquisite Recipes from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
The Magical Harry Potter Cookbook: 45 Mouthwatering and Exquisite Recipes from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter
Awe full rip off do not buy!
This was an A4 size book which was clearly a black and white photocopy of a MUCH smaller book, then stretched to make it A4 size. The pictures were really blocky and in some cases unrecognisable. The recipes were dire and had hardly any resemblance to Harry Potter. Sent back for full refund. I’m surprised the publisher hasn’t been Sued by WB as it doesn’t say it’s unofficial on the book and is a really bad representation of the Harry Potter brand. This would be highly disappointing to get for yourself or to receive as a gift.
LEGO City Town 60099 Advent Calendar Building Kit(Discontinued by manufacturer)
LEGO City Town 60099 Advent Calendar Building Kit(Discontinued by manufacturer)
I bought this for my six-year-old son and he opened it each night in December with his dad.

Needless to say, my lego-obsessed kid ADORED this concept for an advent calendar. He was so excited every night to open the next day. What I especially loved about this product was that it required some assembly each night - which meant that my husband and son would take time together to build and play each night. Sometimes it can be hard to fit in that play time in our busy lives and this was a fun way of ensuring that togetherness around the holidays!

The box unfolds with a play area that lays flat on the table and than the boxes are above. So as you assemble the people and parts of the city, you place them on the little play area/mat portion to enhance your imagination.

My only complaint with this product is that I wish there was a way to make it easier to keep the item for piece storage. Once you open a compartment, it can be difficult to put a piece back in the compartment because it falls into another day. It makes it inconvenient to keep the rather large and cumbersome box, even though I would like to keep it so he would still have the play area. This probably is not feasible for the price this is offered at, but I would be willing to pay more for such a feature.

Overall, this is a totally fun advent calendar for the lego lover in your life!

PlayTape in Red, Blue & Black Road 30 Feet by 2 Inches 3 Pack - Road Car Tape Great for Kids, Sticker Roll for Cars and Train Sets, Stick to Floors and Walls, Quick Cleanup, Children Toys Birthday
Update: we originally loved these tapes! Unfortunately, when we left the roads on our laminate wood floors for more than just a little bit (i.e. for a few days), our floors were ruined. We have tried adhesive remover, magic eraser, wd40, Murphy's oil...nothing works! I think the tape actually removed the laminate (as opposed to leaving adhesive). Miserable!

Original post:
So much fun! My 3 year old loved setting up his track all around the house, making intersections with the different colors. He loves playing with cars anyway, but this opened up some more imaginative play. It does tear easily enough (and straight) that he was able to rip it on his own when he decided the road was ready for a dead end. When we were done with that particular set up, they peeled off the floor with no problem!
Mystic India - An Incredible Journey of Inspiration
Mystic India - An Incredible Journey of Inspiration
I liked the beautiful cinnematography and the geographic overview of India, the many places visited in the film were some of the most beautiful and magnificent in India, the over all ideology of the boy's story to promote unity
in diversity, etc. Yoga and meditation, the Vedas were spoken of here and a main theme in the story (not the Vedas so much but mention of it as the foundation). But there at the end was the irony of the unity, non-discrimination, diversity ideal; a Hindu priest up on a terrace with thousands in front of him with no one woman in the thousands... while narrator speaks loftily with swelling music about unity, non-discrimination, diversity.
But overall, enjoyable film for anyone who loves to travel or loves India and a good story of someone breaking free from the norm and living from the heart and innocent wisdom.
Job Description Handbook, The
Job Description Handbook, The
An easy, uncomplicated read providing good input and worksheets for developing job descriptions. Does not cover in very much depth the physical demands and working conditions piece, which I was looking for. I work in an industry that employs a large variety of positions, indoors and outdoors, desk jobs and physically laborious jobs, and in various weather conditions, and we'd like to address physical demands for ADA purposes. This book seems more appropriate for companies whose jobs don't have such a variety of conditions. I did like, however, the simplicity in which it covered the other aspects of job descriptions.

UNIONBAY Men's Survivor Iv Relaxed Fit Cargo Pant-Reg and Big and Tall Sizes
Even though there's currently pictures of a pair of theses pants on this page that feature Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets, the new version of the pants Amazon shipped to me did not feature the Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets. Although Amazon could easily fix the problem of the inaccurate pictures by replacing them with one that accurately reflects the new version of these pants, the problem still remains that Unionbay removed a useful feature when they decided to exclude the Velcro flaps that cover the small side pockets. It use to be that it was possible to put items I wanted to keep seperate from items in other pockets and dry from the rain in the small side pockets, now that the small side pockets no longer feature velcro flaps, that's really not possible and the small side pockets aren't as useful. If I had known Unionbay was planning the design change with the small side pockets, I would have purchased more pairs of the older style while they were still available. The material isn't too bad, I liked the fit and the look and the design of the older style of these cargo pants much better though. I also recently included pictures of what the small side pockets look like on the new version of these cargo pants, these are definitely open pockets and nothing like the ones in the original item photos.

CASEKOO Crystal Clear Compatible with iPhone 11 Pro Max Case, [Anti-Yellowing] Shockproof Protective Hybrid Phone Cases Slim Lightweight Cover (6.5 inch) 2019 - Crystal Clear
I've been looking for a clear as well as protective but not too bulky phone case, and now I've found it! Crystal clear, allowing me to show my iPhone in its originality and clarity. This case has extra raised lips to protect the screen and camera on my new iPhone. The new phone's camera is large, I'm worried about my expensive cameras can't get a good protection, but when I received this case, I don't worry it anymore. Because the raised lip at the four corners could avoid my phone contact with the flat directly. So my camera lens won't get scratch. Plus, the four corners of this case has soft bumper and airbag design, which looks very protective for the edge of the phone. It's also very easy to install. Overall, I'm happy to purchase such a good case.

The camera of my mobile is very poor and not worth a mobile costing Rs 20,000 ... Most pictures are blurred nd on zooming get pathetic.
I have visited customer care , Lakshmi nagar Delhi for samr two times when my phone was under gurantee .. The person on desk kept giving excuses that apko pic lena nh aata. Apka haanth hil jata hoga, dim light mein pic lete honge aap and so on... Now when i again showed my moble same customer care said mobile ka camera kharab hai , nearly 5000 lagenge over all... Such a pathetic service...

Update 6/5/2020
I stopped using it shortly after the reviews but since working from home during the pandemic I recently started using this charger and it’s surprisingly working just fine. It used to be very finicky. If I were to slightly move the charging would stop. That doesn’t happen anymore. I’m currently using it to write this review and it hasn’t disconnected once.

I would recommend this product now

Original review
Im VERY disappointed with this product. I’ve been using this charger for maybe a week and a half and it’s driving me INSANE. In the main photos they’re using for this product they show the black part bending... which is does have a little flexibility to it, but it will stop charging if you were to bend it like that. As I’ve sat VERY still at my desk writing this review with this charger plugged in it has disconnect and reconnected over 6 times. If I even think about moving it disconnects. I wanted to give this brand a try because I saw them advertised above the brand I normally buy, but that was a mistake.
Apple iPhone 7 (32GB) - Black
Apple iPhone 7 (32GB) - Black
Redmi phones cameras are great, of course iPhone is better but is the 6 more Redmi phones that I can get for 1 iPhone justifiable for such a difference in price? Well, absolutely yes.
iPhone camera is not just better, it is so much better than comparing them are like comparing a Alto with BMW, yes both have 4 wheels, both have AC, both can run at 100 kmph, but you know the difference.
The high price of iPhone is so justified by the sheer brilliance of camera it has. Sure it is just 12 MP, but the clarity, my o my!
Sure the battery is just about 2600 compared to 3500 of a Redmi, but it lasts longer than a Redmi.
I know I am comparing a low budget phone to a premium one, but there are so many people (I was one of them) who were not able to see the reason behind the steep price of iPhone.
I have been using a MacBook for 10 years and since my work depends on it, I need it, but a phone? Why? It is not a necessity like the laptop, it is just for calling and taking pics occasionally, and I have my SLR for photography.
But I was so wrong, an iPhone is an iPhone. Once you use it, there is no turning back.
My last iPhone was a 4S and then since I love buying phones every 6 months, I shifted to Android (Redmi, Samsung, Honor) to satiate my hunger for new phones. All these phones are superb, no doubt, but once you use the iPhone 7, you know that the difference between these phones and iPhone 6s has got much bigger because of the camera.
And features like Airdrop (100 pics transferred from the phone to Macbook within 4-5 seconds) are so good if you are using both iPhone and Macbook.
Bottom line, iPhone 7 has jumped a big leap from the 6s and the 8 is almost similar. The X is double the price of a 7, so probably all things taken in account, the iPhone 7 is the best value for money among all phones in India

UNITOPSCI Android 9.1 Car Stereo for Toyota RAV4 2007-2011 Navigation Stereo Double Din Car Radio 9'' HD Touch Screen 1G 16G GPS Navigation WiFi Bluetooth FM Radio USB Mirror Link + Backup Camera
I'm mostly an IPhone guy, so to buy an Android system, I had to do some research for features and compatibility before deciding on this unit. I was not disappointed at all.
Quality of this product is excellent, installation was plug and play on a 2010 Toyota RAV4. It litterally took me an hour to remove the old after market stereo which stopped working and install this new unit. Then I spent a little bit extra time to tidy thing up and secure the wires, harnesses and cables in place. I even hooked up my backup camera and it works great. The image looks much clearer and covers a larger space than my older screen.
The navigation app was OK, I downloaded some maps after connecting the stereo to WIFI. I also connected the unit to my iPhone, used tethering and was able to use google maps, Pandora and other apps with no issues.
Based on my initial experience, I give this unit 5 stars and strongly recommend it for this model vehicle. I will update my review in a couple of months after I had more time to play with this stereo.

Werde Amazon einschalten.

Gtracing Gaming Chair Racing Office Computer Ergonomic Video Game Chair Backrest and Seat Height Adjustable Swivel Recliner with Headrest and Lumbar Pillow Esports Chair (Red)
First off, I just want to say that this is a very good company. They have the best customer service that I have seen with any online company that I have ever dealt with. Other companies should take notes on how they should handle problems from this company. Now On to my review of this chair. I purchased the chair almost 5 months ago now and was pretty hyped about getting it. It is not very easy to find a chair for a larger person. I weigh 299 pounds and needed something that would support that. Some of the other office chairs I have had in the past said that they did support up to and over my weight and the gas cylinder would always give out. So far, I have not had any issues with it. Now I did have a few problems with the chair, and the company fixed the problem right away. The first was comfort. When I first got the chair, it was kind of stiff which is expected of a new chair. But the wings on the side of it would rub on my legs making it painful to sit in the chair for more than an hour. It seemed that the metal bars in it were too far pressed in. I contacted the company about it to see what they could do to fix the problem and they sent me out a cushion to help raise me above the cushion. That was good enough for me. Eventually I ended up not having to use the cushion. (I was working on losing weight.) They second problem happened with the wheel base. One of the supports that held the wheels in place had come apart. I contacted the company right away and sent them a picture of the problem and they sent me out a new base. Not the easiest to change out once you have set it in place. But after watching videos on YouTube I was able to get it replaced. Now 4 months later I did have another issue with the chair which actually happened to me 1 week ago now from this date. My arm rests were moving around a lot and I didn't understand why. So, I flipped the chair over to check and see if the screws had come loose. They were not loose at all. I then went ahead and took the arm rests off and as soon as I did I noticed a metal bar had fallen. I removed the felt that was hiding it and seen that the welds that held the bar in place had failed. I am not going to lie I was pretty bummed about it. I contacted the company and explained to them what happened, I sent in pictures to show the problem. They got back to me within hours of my complaint and sent me out another seat to replace the old one. I just got it 2 days ago and put it on and all is good again. Now one thing I noticed about the new chair seat is that the metal bars are not sticking in my side. Either I have lost weight (I have.) or they have fixed that problem. Either way I am completely happy. Now I am sure that there are other chairs out there that are a bit better in comfort but they also cost a lot more. This is a very nice chair for anyone looking to get a gaming office chair and not break the bank in the process. Just a few pros and cons about the chair.

Pros:
1. Great Customer Service from the company. They actually uphold a warranty.
2. Affordable price for a gaming office chair.
3. The recline feature comes in handy and is really nice.

Cons:
1. The arm rests should be a bit higher or be able to extend higher then what is allowed currently.
2. Not the most comfortable chair if you sit in it for extended times. More cushion could help this problem.

Overall, I am really happy with my purchase and would recommend and use this company again in the future. I hope that someone finds this review helpful when going to purchase a affordable office chair.

I’m going to get the cons out of the way first, the price and the noise. This baby is going to cost you $100+ give or take a coupon code, but if you’re like me and already spend a small fortune every year on allergy meds, swiffer dusters, and aerosol sprays, this will be a nice little investment. As for the noise, I’m not gonna hold back, it gets pretty loud. On low, you can still hear a clock ticking, medium, gives off a white noise level of hum, but high is pretty darn loud. If you want to drown out loud neighbors, then it’s a godsend.

Now onto the pros!

I’ve attached a pic of how much this beast filtered out of my tobacco smoke/ dog hair/ dust infested air, in TWO weeks. It pulled in stuffing from a room over! The noise on high might be grating, but it’s a small con knowing how much air it’s pulling.

The highlight that really sold me on this purifier, and I believe should be a fixture on all purifiers, is the light indicators. It is so satisfying, seeing the light turn from blue to red when my father lights up a cigarette. I could be sitting five feet away from him and only smell that stench for a small moment before it disappears. Besides the smell of smoke, I’ve become nose blind for years to the melody of different smells in my house whether from food to wet dog smell, but this thing has reset it. I can enjoy the smell of candles and incense without the lingering smell of tobacco in the air. It’s like a palate refresher to the nose!

So, if you have a smoker in your household, a pet that loves to shed, a dust prone house, or all three, buy it! Save up of you have to, it is worth every penny!

I love the black licorice from Darrell Lea, so I thought I’d buy this bundle and try the other flavors as well. The black and strawberry licorices were good but the mango and the fruit mix were... just oddly flavored, in my opinion. The mango tasted like plastic or chemicals or something I cannot put my finger on. Perhaps I got an “off” batch but I just cannot imagine who would enjoy that flavor. Once again, the black and strawberry licorices were very good and I would buy those flavors again.
