Mastering TypeScript - Second Edition
Mastering TypeScript - Second Edition
This is a fantastic book.

When I was told that I needed to learn about TypeScript to fit into a new team at a client,
I purchased this book and spent around two weeks after hours working through the chapters and samples.

I found the flow of the book to be at a good pace, each chapter building on the knowledge learned from previous ones.
Coming from a C# background, and understanding object oriented principles, picking up TypeScript felt natural.

When I eventually joined the team, I was quite surprised at how much in-depth knowledge I had
compared to the existing team members. Where I felt comfortable writing basic things like declaration files, generics and promises,
most of the other members still did not fully grasp the concepts, and were still battling by learning through trial and error.

As a new team member, I thought that I would need to spend quite some time learning from everyone else, until my
knowledge had grown to their level. What I found, however was quite the opposite.

With the knowledge and techniques that I had learnt, I was able to contribute to the team's velocity very quickly.
I was also able to identify opportunities for re-factoring, and suggest to the team better ways of tackling difficult problems.

To me, the real strength of this book was the author's coverage of different frameworks. By working through and understanding
how the same concepts are implemented in each of them, I gained a broader view of the strengths and weaknesses of each. This
helped the team in identifying and selecting the right framework for each of our projects.

As a consultant, I am expected to be able to walk into a new customer, join a new project, and hit the ground running.
This book gave me all the knowledge I needed to do exactly that.

Mustard Seed Faith: Mountain-Moving Ideas to Change Your Life by Changing the Lives of Others
Mustard Seed Faith: Mountain-Moving Ideas to Change Your Life by Changing the Lives of Others
This book is thoughtful and evocative . As a friend of the author , I would love to give it 5 stars but I have to apply the iceberg principle which says that 90% is never seen . Eric's vision of the world we need to improve is flawed only in so far as thinking that so many people don't feel the same way he does . Perhaps it is my naivete that leads me to believe that most people are not ships of war but rather ships without rudders . To that extent , Eric offers beautiful and constructive ideas on how to help people find their rudder by reflecting the love of Christ in our own behavior . I hope that most people are not motivated by self aggrandizement but rather , they are fearful of the pain of rejection . We can all share Eric's hope but not if we think so many people are hopeless . Jesus taught us to leave the 99 to search for the one . I hope that everyone reading this book feels moved to touch at least one life and plant a mustard seed of hope in the life of another soul for hope is the seed from which faith grows .

Unusual. I enjoyed the originality of this short story. A thought-provoking and amusing read. I will never look at a vegetable patch - or flat leafed parsley - the same way again.

Urban Outlaw: Dirt Don’t Slow You Down

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
The Power of Your Subconscious Mind
This is not the first book, titled with this name, I have read.

I have one by another author in a hard back cover, given to me by a close friend,  Randy Brantley, RIP,  35 years ago.

This book saved my life, after my wife left me and I was devastated with grief for years.

This basically covers the same principle, of how to heal  yourself. To achieve and overcome the goals you are looking for in life.

If you are in a tough spot in your life. Take this book, really study it,  follow and practice, every night, it's true meaning of what you have read.

It will help you to rethink and look back on your life, if you have many obsticles, keeping you from being a normal human being.  Wondering what is my purpose in life, why am I still here.  After 70 years, it will help you to think, it is possible to start your life over, a new beginning.

Apply these principles and you can over come all your obsticles.

I did, where I thought, I would not survive. 35 years later, here I am,  much stronger than I ever was. By practicing what this book teaches. You will never forget what you have learned.

It will be instilled, programed into your mind, to never repeat the same mistakes you made in your past life.

Only you can be in control of your life, nobody can do it for you. You can choose to fight or give up.
You have to "Force and Apply yourself" in your daily routine, to restructure your mind, in how you think.

Then you will have found the true meaning in how to succeed and survive in this new crazy world.

I am living proof, from all the 30 plus tragedies in my life, I should not be alive today.

As you get older in life, people slow down, doctors put you on all kinds of meds, a new med to treat the symtoms from another med. This programs you to think you need these to survive.

Actually you are gradually and slowly dying, (Dieing vs. Dying) laying around getting fat, no energy to accomplish anything meaningful in your life. I am proof, for 5 years, I was slowly dying, I had plenty of medical reasons for this.

"I became a diebetic in 2013, on meds for one year, medication started to shut down my kidney's, had to get off them, went on natural diet control, no sugars or any food that makes sugar, pasta, carbs. Still doing diet conto after 4 years, diabetes is under control.

I developed congestive heart failer in 2013, was on heart medication, muscle relaxers. (2016, after 3 years, no more heart failer, it went away,  doctors are baffled, have no explanation why, never have seen a reversal like mine).

In 2013, My Urologist discovered, I lost 50% of my kidney''s, on way to complete failer. I No longer had the urge to urinate, went 2 or 3 times a day. (I  cured this problem, Started Cordycepts Sinenis) after 3rd month, my kidneys are normal, now have to urinate 6 to 7 times a day, some days cannot almost hold it.)

Around 2015, my sleep apnea,  developed into severe Central Sleep Apnea, stopped breathing 117 times per hour, my brain stopped telling my lungs to breath, was on a ASV breathing machine, with oxygen, (no longer on oxygen or ASV machine, I moved to lower elevation.

I was determined not to live this way, I cured my problem myself, basically, after all this, I finally put all the pieces together, elevation was causing much of my problems)

I lost all my teeth, 19 pulled In one procedure,  now have recent dentures with implants, that hurt, they don't fit, cannot eat or wear them, am fighting to have them redone, Brighter Way Dental, refuses to call me back and set appointment to redo my dentures. Totally ignororing me, they refused to respond to at least 8 calls.

My feet started to swell up like a ballon, 2 emergency rooms, more meds to reduce swelling and pain, barely worked.  (I have cured this problem, with "Cordycepts Sinenis" extract, by Mental Refreshment, purple color bottle, purchased on Amazon, started in April, 2018, take 2 capsules a day, introduced to me by my temp landlord, he cured his kidney failer, he was on diolosis, had 15% kidney's left, off diolosis after 10 days on Cordycepts). Google this fantastic Cordycepts, it is a 4000 year old ancient rememdy, found in Tibet.

You are being programed to think, these meds are a necessity in your life to stay alive. Yes some are, but you need to find out why or what the problem is, that is causing you to take meds. Find that problem, do something to  fix it.

Do you believe that is really the truth, doctors are only treating, not curing. I believe the elderly are being slowing killed off, by brainwashing patients with treatments only, not curing you of your problems. Reprogram your mind to think clearly, then do something to change it. Read this book, to learn how to change your life.

I Turned 70 this year, I  feel like I am starting my life over. I think and feel like I am 40 years old. I am off 95% of my medications, from as many as 17 a day, I was taking over the last 15 years

I am now  planing on what I am going to do for the next 30 years.   My mother turns 95 today, Sunday 9-23-2018, she still lives alone, able to fend for herself.

By refecting back what I learned from this book, it helps me to think clearly, what I need to do next.

I moved to another city, purchased another home, remodeling it completely throuhout. I feel and have 300% more energy from just last year, in Nov, 2017 to this date. I was sick and tired of being treated, with no effort by doctors to find my problems to cure me of everyrhing.

Cherish this book or others like it, use it as your daily bible, you will discover a new beginning in your life.

Only you can make it happen, you are now in control of your life, ready for a new beginning. I lost sight of this book for years since 1983, Buying this book again, it reminded me of my old book, what I had learned.

I failed to practice what I learned, I let my doctors control me, this book woke me up again. I no longer trust any doctor, they are not about a cure, only a treatment, for finacial reasons.

Least not forget, we were not put on this earth, to think only about ourself. We must be ready to help and fight for others who no longer can fight for themself.

If you get to my stage in life, think about this book.  My goal is to always help others who need it, give back, be greatfull we are alive to help others and how life has been good to us.

This country was built on these principles, fighting for others and our children, be willing to die for this cause.

"For mankind to give up fighting for others and  your country,  We Then Loose All Humanity in ourselves"

This is currently happening in our Country, I am afraid for the future survival of this nation. Wake up, Do your part.

AIMS 5000 Watt 24 Volt Power Inverter
AIMS 5000 Watt 24 Volt Power Inverter
I've been using this for about two weeks. I had returned an Energizer 4000 watt that was having trouble. This inverter is proving to be well worth the money. I have ran the washing machine, side by side fridge, 1100 watt microwave, Oster's largest oven, 5 gal. shop vac, drip coffee pot, large screen TV and entertainment center, sodium vapor security lights, ceiling fans with CF bulbs, hair dryer, windows AC unit, and my 220v 1hp sta-rite well pump (converted to 110v). As much as it will run, it won't power my Kuerig coffee pot. The pot won't even turn on with the inverter. I have one 4' florescent that lights dimly with it and one sodium vapor light that won't come on with it. Thats to be expected since there are some things that won't work right with a modified sine wave inverter. My computer is connected to a pure sine wave UPS so the UPS does not like the inverter. I have ran several things at once and my fridge pretty much stays on it as well as one security light and overhead fans. Update: 08-22-2015 Tech support gave me a few suggestions to try concerning the coffee pot not working. That didn't work and they could not explain why it wouldn't work. Since the overhead fans whine and some lights won't work, I've decided to go with the AIMS pure sine wave. After all being said, this inverter is a very good one if you don't mind modified sine wave.

Original Brush - Biodegradable Toothbrushes With A Built In Tongue Brush & Soft Biodegradable Bristles. 4 Pack of Zero-Waste, Compostable Tooth Brushes.
Pros:
- Very stylish and photogenic
- black bristles don’t stain or discolor easily.

Cons:
- Non-laminated wood means that your toothbrush is porous and retains fluid. Not something you want from a cheap object to clean a septic part of the body. The damp brush (even if lightly dried) can accumulate all sorts of cultures inside of its saturated skin before you put it back in your mouth
- Solid, blocky design can be uncomfortable in your mouth
- Bristles break off easy and you’ll be spitting them out even in the first few days.
- Splinters. You rub up against the wood enough and it chafes into an edged thorn that will stab at your cheeks and gums.
- Pick up more functional brushes for cheaper at any store
The Shot
The Shot
I have always adored Russian literature, but, for some reason, I have never read anything by Pushkin (1799-1837). Obviously, his best known work is Eugine Onegin, but I could not resist trying this short story on kindle (especially as it is currently available free). The story has been given a modern translation, designed so the reader can understand references without checking footnotes. I suspect this will understandably divide opinions, but it does make the story accessible to those who might want to try Pushkin’s work, but not know where to begin.

Our narrator is an army officer, stationed at a remote village. There is little to do there and so, although there is an older man who is sarcastic and ill tempered, the officers all attend his open table. The man, named Silvio by our narrator, is obviously a very impressive fellow and so there is much astonishment when, after an argument at cards, he does not demand the satisfaction of a duel. This obviously harms his reputation, but Silvio explains his reasons and there is, of course, a twist to the tale. A very enjoyable story and beautifully written.
Clifton Chronicles (7 Book Series)
Clifton Chronicles (7 Book Series)
I FEEL taken advantage of, a victim of commercialization--- I bought a book-- was right in the midst of a huge explosion and the book ended. I chatted to Amazon thinking the download was faulty but oh no...it was fine. The author and his agent decided that In order to know what happened to the people I invested about 6 hours in, I would have to buy the next book.
and so I did.
and what happened? the people in the explosion and the end of the story took barely a few pages. I am not going to invest much in these books-- they insult me.

I am sorry..I feel cheated. I did not like it. I hope that BOOKS don't make me a victim again.
Little Miss Twins (Mr. Men and Little Miss)
Little Miss Twins (Mr. Men and Little Miss)
I bought this book for my twin babies who love to read. I read some of the other reviews of this book, which is why I am compelled to write my own. Some of the writing is a little awkward to an adult, yes, but I remembered loving this series when I was young (that's why I bought it), and my 15 mo old girls love it. They really love it. It's certainly not too long for their attention span. I've noticed people tend to give up if they read a book once to their kids & it doesn't hold their attention. - I do not let that be a sticking point for my trying a book. The book we purchased is very small & it's paperback, so our copy has seen better days at this point, but it has held up surprisingly well despite it. Plus, it provides an opportunity to teach the girls how to treat/handle books.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Enchanted Postcard Book
It's a pretty good postcard book, but the lenticular cards that i got it for, are not so great. I don't wanna see a blurry 5 minute clip from the movie. I think the best kind of lenticulars are the ones that just look three dimensional, and these kinda don't

PopSockets: PopGrip with Swappable Top for Phones & Tablets - Harry Potter - Deathly Hallows Gloss

Harry Potter Gryffindor Friends Soft Doll - HARRY
I had this same doll when I was in fourth grade (2001) and my mom had given it to me for my birthday. That same year in 2001, during christmas time our teacher told us we had to bring a gift to do an exchange in class, and since we were low income I had to use this doll to put as a gift! I was so sad!! I loved it so much, anyway, the lame gift I got as a return was a $1 dollar wallet you get at a swap meet. I wish I never had given it :(

BCBGMax Azria Women's Anaya Woven Tie Back Ruffle Dress
Great color. I really can't believe this dress cost what it does. Way too high. It is not a quality fabric. It was shipped stuffed in a bag so completely wrinkled all over. Couldn't really tell if it looked great or not. Wouldn't spend this amount for this dress.

Blanket scarves are the hottest trend right now, so I purchased this in the color camel because I just love the threads of red and green for the Christmas season. The colors are EXACTLY as shown in the images. This scarf is beautiful! Straight out of the package, it was very staticky however, I followed the instructions and washed it in cold water on gentle. I put it in the dryer on delicate with a fabric softener for just a few minutes to help get the static out and then air dried. I have had no issues with lint or fuzzies sticking to clothes as others described. I suggest washing before wear to eliminate those problems. I purchased a cream colored cable knit sweater to wear with it and the outfit came together beautifully! I did a quick google search on how to tie blanket scarves and watched a few videos and now have at least 10 different ways to wear this scarf. I am thrilled with my purchase and will be ordering more colors!

UPDATE: I ordered this scarf in a few more colors! Still no issues with static or fuzzies on any of the scarves that I ordered. . Washing it before wear must be the trick!
