El fin del poder: Cómo el poder ya no es lo que era [The End of Power: How Power Is No Longer What It Was]

Today and Tomorrow - Special Edition of Ford's 1926 Classic
Today and Tomorrow - Special Edition of Ford's 1926 Classic
I have been working in the field of 'lean' process improvement for a few years now. Like many other I was led to believe that it all started in Japan in the 1950's. Wrong! The roots of the Toyota Production System were in the Ford Production System - so why isn't this fact broadcast by the very business academics and 'lean consultants' who peddle their wares in the marketplace? Why isn't this book required reading for EVERY employee, employer and MBA student? Perhaps because Henry Ford achieved his success without the help of legal and financial departments full of expensive overhead - corporate lawyers and accountants! In fact he actively eliminated them from his businesses! Ford's dream was to create a form of transport that anyone could afford - for example the workers in his factories - because this would free people from a hand-to-mouth existence and release their time to reinvest in developing themselves and supporting their families and communities. Ford was a social engineer as much as a mechanical and process engineer - his goal was to reduce poverty. To achieve his vision Ford focussed on the process of manufacture; he empowered employees by creating a new organisational model - a context that insisted on industry, innovation and creativity from everyone. Contrary to the stories told later, he paid all workers a higher than average minimum wage; he only allowed employees to work 8 hours per day; and he expected a good day's work in return for a fair day's wage. Ford insisted on discipline and set clear expectations. Only those prepared to work in this way were welcome: trade unions were not required because the vision of the employer and employee were aligned. In reading the account of his philosphy in his own words I became aware of how much the stories I had heard of Henry Ford had been distorted; I was struck by how relevant the lessons are today; and I felt annoyed that it has taken me so long to discover this fascinating book! So I'm doing my bit to spread the word! Simon Dodds
The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 (2LP)
The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 (2LP)
You don't really need me to tell you about Aretha or her music – she provided a large part of the soundtrack to most of our lives, and you should already be familiar with many of the tracks included on this new double CD collection. Although released in September 2018, a month after her passing, this release was not actually intended as a memorial set but was planned much earlier in the year – the booklet notes were actually written back in May. However, Aretha Franklin - The Atlantic Singles Collection 1967-1970 does now make a fine tribute to an outstanding artist and covers what many would consider to be her her golden era. As others have mentioned what we have on this new CD double disc set are the mono singles masters of this material, and these are the versions we would have heard on the radio back at the time, rather than the stereo album mixes. The mono mixes pack a lot more power and will blast out of the centre of your stereo speakers when you crank up the volume. “Auntie” Aretha and “Uncle” Otis were great favourites of DJ Johnnie Walker back in his Radio Caroline days and he played them both very regularly on his evening shows – great stuff! This CD version of the singles collection is currently just under a tenner from Amazon and if you buy direct from Amazon – rather than from one of their third-party sellers – you will also get the MP3 album AutoRipped to your Amazon Music Library so you can play it today! This is certainly a five star release for music, presentation and value – so if you only want to buy one CD collection to remember Aretha Franklin then make it this one – I'm sure a more comprehensive memorial tribute is currently being planned but for now this is my favourite.
Disney Songs The Satchmo Way [VINYL]
Disney Songs The Satchmo Way [VINYL]
Louis Armstrong is someone I admire for doing what they did consistently. Thus, if you are at all familiar with Satchmo, you have a good idea what this album is all about. There are those who view Armstrong's later years as a time of commercial submission, yet from my perspective, he elevated all the material that he recorded. This set of Disney tunes is no different. I bought it for my toddler son, so that he would be exposed to music of quality, but that would also appeal to him; however, I have no qualms listening to it on my own. My favorite is Louis' take on "Chim Chim Cheree", followed by "The Bare Necessities". If you have kids, make sure they hear this recording!
Basin Street Blues
Basin Street Blues
Many critics believe Louis Armstrong's best work was limited to the innovative 1920s recordings with the Hot Fives and Hot Sevens. This recording shows that decades later, in 1956 and 1957, he was still a phenomenal live entertainer.

Louis is joined on stage by the All Stars, originally formed in 1947, with an ever changing lineup that at the time of these recordings consisted of Trummy Young on trombone, Ed Hall on clarinet, Billy Kyle on piano, Dale Jones on bass and Barrett Deems on drums.

The disc is set up to sound like it was a recording of a concert one night--although it is a compilation recorded over several nights. It opens with Armstrong's signature tune When It's Sleepy Time Down South, after which Louis does his traditional audience greeting. Then the band swings through some of the old favorites, including Indiana, a roaring version of Basin Street Blues, the finely played Struttin' with Some Barbecue, the nostalgic Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans, the upbeat On the Sunny Side of the Street, and the classic When the Saints Go Marching In.

While Armstrong's years of helping to create a new American art form may have long passed, his trumpet playing and singing were never more able to please a crowd. His years of nonstop touring during this period helped cement his reputation as genius and American icon.

The Songs of Bob Dylan: From 1966 Through 1975
The Songs of Bob Dylan: From 1966 Through 1975
As far as I have found, this is the most comprehensive collection of sheet music for Dylan songs that is around. From 'Blonde on Blonde' to 'Blood on the Tracks', this book includes every song the casual fan will know, and probably some more as well as it also contains many outtakes that were later published on the Bootleg Series, such as 'Abandoned Love' and 'She's your lover now'. They are all solid transcriptions as well, often a combination of a left hand bass line and a right hand melody with some chordal accompiniment underneath. Intros and recurring riffs are also included for most of the songs. There is only one complaint I have, and it is hardly worth mentioning, but a couple of songs, especially those from BooT, are transcribed in a wrong key, more specifically in D instead of in E. It's not too difficult to transpose it though, if you want to play along with the record.

Other than that it's the best choice for Dylan sheet music that's around, and if you also get a book like "More Classic Dylan" (containing the two albums directly before this book and two later albums) you're all set.
Positively Bob: Willie Nile Sings Bob Dylan
Positively Bob: Willie Nile Sings Bob Dylan
1 first encountered Willie Nile in 1981 when I bought his lp Golden Down. The album quickly became
a favourite which I listened to over and over again. Then somehow I lost touch with him and his music.
It was only lately that i discovered that I still had his lp in my collection and realized
with regret that I had neglected his music for much too long. So I checked out what he was recording now
and noticed that his latest cd was a compilation of some of Bob Dylan's signature songs. Being a long
time fan of Dylan I decided to purchase it right away. I received it all the way from England yesterday
and have so far listened to it twice. I am at a loss for words to describe how Willie Niles's renditions
of Bob Dylan's songs absolutely blew me away. If you like Bob Dylan I would highly recommend that you
purchase Willie Niles's Positively Bob cd. You will not be sorry. I'm going to try to get the lps/cds
that he's recorded since Golden Down.

AIMS 300 Watt, 600 Watt Peak, Pure Sine DC to AC Power Inverter, USB Port, Cables Included - Non UL Listed
Really great small pure sine wave inverter. I am using it almost everyday on the back patio in a DIY-made ammo box solar generator (see attached picture). I bought this in April, 2017 and it gets used quite a bit to power a small HDTV, speaker, coax amp, etc. I checked the "pure sine wave" with my oscilloscope and it appears on freq with some minor dwells in the waveform. Pk-pk was about 320v (340v is ideal). Not a big deal. From what I measured...looked alright, but not as good as my Outback Power PSW 3,500w inverter or Go Power 1,500w PSW inverter or utility power. Did the "fan" test. With modified sine wave inverters...my shop fan "groans" and sounds pissed-off. I plugged the 100w AC fan into this AIMS...sounds good.

DISKLIKES: 1) Mounting? No screw eyelets or way to mount. I had to use Velcro in my ammo can and stick this inverter to the side. It works, but not ideal. 2) banana plugs for DC power input. Why not regular screw posts eyelets like on other products? I had to buy 90-deg banana plugs to make this work.

OVERALL: Does the job well but needs an update...needs a mounting solution and the banana plug inputs are just a plain stupid idea. They'll work but stick out too far and have the propensity to break off if not careful

UPDATE: March 18, 2018 - Still working great! Solid little inverter.

UPDATE: June 5, 2018 - Still working 24/7 in my ammo box solar generator. This is the 180w PSW inverter model with the banana clip 12v inputs. Did some measuring...gonna order the 300w version to see if I can fit it in an ammo box. If not, no big deal...will stow it in my truck.
Marvel Avengers Thanos Gauntlet Lamp - Six Light Up Infinity Gems 8" Desk Lamp
Marvel Avengers Thanos Gauntlet Lamp - Six Light Up Infinity Gems 8" Desk Lamp
The only reason I’m giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I feel that for the price I just wish it were a little bigger. When I first opened it I was disappointed because it seemed small and when you pressed the “try me” button it wasn’t very bright so I almost immediately wanted to return it. Luckily my husband suggested opening it and putting batteries in and it actually was much brighter. My son loves it and it does give off enough light for a night light. The blue glow in the pictures are lights my son has under his loft bed but you can clearly see how bright this light is. All in all we’re happy with the purchase.
Wolverine Men's W03122 Durashock SR Boot, Brown, 11.5 W US
Wolverine Men's W03122 Durashock SR Boot, Brown, 11.5 W US
I've worn these boots on job sites for 7 years. They are affordable, lightweight, with a durable exterior that will last 12 to 18 months depending on your particular job. Soft leather makes for no break in required. The most comfortable work shoe I've ever owned. Laces are excellent and lock tight when tied. No need to double knot or retie the shoes during the day. I walked a lot on my projects and the durashock soles kept my feet from injury and pain. I use a very good insole from New Balance which helped. 12 hours a day many times 6 days a week, year in and year out. I would highly recommend these boots.
Red Dawn (2012)
Red Dawn (2012)
It was fairly well done from a somewhat different perspective than the original, different location, different invaders, a more urban environment, same character names but different life experiences -- the rebel leader was an active-duty Marine home on leave, for example, instead of a high school senior. I enjoyed it, though there are a few glitches in the storyline, things happening without explanation, some things happening with explanations that didn't make sense. I didn't feel it was a cohesive as the original, but it wasn't entirely falling apart, either. One problem I had was that the North Korean invaders were vicious, as they would be expected to be, but not very aggressive in their pursuit of the rebels. One scene had them hiding out in a forest ditch while the NOKO captain and a few soldiers stood nearby with a bullhorn having the rebel family members talk to them with the bullhorn. I found that unrealistic; if the NOKO captain thought the rebels were within range of the bullhorn he would have had a squad or two of troops establish a perimeter around them and close in. But the movie seemed to have a lot more action than the original, and the action was believable.
Diary of a Badman
Diary of a Badman
I stumbled across this movie in my quest to find a decent thriller. I took a chance on this, with anticipation that it was going to be a typical gangster movie. What made it different was the cultural twist that gave a peek into the Jamaican gangster life which has never been depicted like this onscreen. BUT the main reason to watch this is the excellent story. The lady cop is far deeper than the typical cop lady/gangster with a gun stereotype. Her acting is superb as she brings the tension and emotional confusion of the position she is in. One of the best cop thrillers on Amazon bar none. Check it out!!!
Kraft Easy Mac Triple Cheese Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (2.05 oz Cups, 6 Packs of 4)
Kraft Easy Mac Triple Cheese Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (2.05 oz Cups, 6 Packs of 4)
I was so fortunate to have ordered this package of 6 4-packs just before they went out of stock. My boys (2 and 4) eat these nearly every day. Now I can't find them in stock online or in the store.

My 4 year old is very picky about new things he will try and which foods he will eat, but this is one of his favorites! It's convenient for me as well, although I prepare it a bit differently. I add water and microwave 3 minutes, mix in the cheese, then I put it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes to cool it down as it's too warm right out of the microwave and my kids want to eat it as soon as possible.
Child's Play (1988)
Child's Play (1988)
I wrote many reviews on this movie because it never fails to be the ultimate classic that will go down in history as the clever unforgettable supernatural suspense chiller. It is ideal if you are not into gore but more into the creepiness.
The parents at the time secretly love this flick so their child would calm their greed for toys.

I saw the commercials of the very first Child's play Movie and I remember them completely - the stunning special effects of the doll creeping with the mechanical head turning right around and the isolated kid, was later called Andy hollering for his Mother. I was nine years old at that time.
I saw that movie on tape at 13 many years ago (under aged- naughty me!!) but could not wait to see it. Chucky was now the first Boogyman I ever watched.
Brad Dourif whom I known from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest, Blue Velvet, Fatal Beauty, Dune and many countless films as I got older- he is one of the most finest performers I have ever seen, with his magnetic charisma and those huge wildly intense blue eyes to match, he is crazy handsome in this movie, and his outburst rage that even real life Serial Murderers exhibit is brilliant. Dourif hits the big time as Charles 'chucky' Lee Ray, the Voodoo practising Serial killer of Chicago who was gunned down in a toy store by bewildered Detective Norris (Sarandon)and betrayed by his partner-in-crime Eddie Caputo.
Charles made a promise that he will get revenge on the ones that 'done him in' and found a Good Guy doll to exchange his soul whispered a Voodoo incantation in the name of 'Damballah Wedo' (a west African, and Haitian Snake God), lighting struck the toy shop and the police found Ray dead - bet they thought it was over and celebrated by munching on Bear claws and donuts collections- RIGHT? Nope Wrong.
In comes along little Andy Barclay - sweet Darling' angel, but he whines about wanting the latest craze - em yes! you guessed it - and you know that he is gonna get what he wants alright! unfortunately Karen Barclay (Hicks) buys the 'special' doll at cheapo bargain from a Homeless Guy. At least she does not have to worry about batteries because the doll is 'more alive' than expected, with a diminutive height and Brad Dourif's inimitable Booming voice. And ratty Auntie Maggie (Peterson) gets it, and takes a dive from the forty storey building. and then it is Eddie's turn to be shish kabab in a exploding House!
The body counts are rising, and the truth about Charles Lee Ray is mounting but more unbelievers are added to the equation. Until they see Chucky 'is alive' and eat their words (or die so to speak).
It is a Scary movie, with great scenes of Chicago, and Chucky has a vehement vengeance and will not stop at nothing with its perished body ashed from flames and blue eyes peering out creeping towards Andy makes you feel like a kid wanting to cry out to your Ma. what a Nightmarish Film - unmissable, this cool movie deserves praise.
I don't care what people say.

Hail Chucky!
Powder Blue
Powder Blue
Very good film. A character driven, story driven and seamless presentation of four (or five) people's struggle with loneliness, depression, despair and dysmorphia. Jessica Biel is an underrated actress. This movie is uplifted by Biel's intensity in this role. Someone mentioned that this is a "campy" movie, and that is most apparent in the scene at the hospital with her terminal son's doctor, but somehow it doesn't detract and sort of lightens the mood of the film a bit. Her athleticism is on display too as a pole dancer. She's got skills. Otherwise, this is a somber and dark themed movie.

"Powder Blue" is about people (mostly sinners) struggling to recover from loss of a loved one - the ephemeral nature of life and happiness. Clearly, one can't move forward, while clinging to a dead past. Move on with life, you're not dead yet.

Biel's made a couple of great film choices where she plays strong independent women (The Tall Man and Bleeding Heart). She was good as a mother who commits a seemingly senseless murder in The Sinner (series). Although, this is probably meant to be an ensemble piece, other actors seem to play a supporting role. She definitely held your attention. What is it with Forrest Whitaker and transvestites? It felt at times like a reprise of his role in The Crying Game. Sanaa Latham was in a cameo role as his dead wife. She looked gorgeous, as usual. Ray Liotta played another tortured soul searching for redemption. A lot of interesting characters and cameos from Patrick Swayze, Khris Khristopherson, and Eddie Redmayne was likable in the role of the shy and asthmatic young mortician.

Nora Roberts' Time Duology (Time Travel Series)
Nora Roberts' Time Duology (Time Travel Series)
Nora Roberts is a skillful and amiable writer of novels that take you into a charming setting and display the course of a romance in that setting. The setting is a rustic country cabin, lovingly described, and the heroines of both books are sisters. The first book was somewhat enjoyable, with an inadvertently-time-traveling hero rescued by an intrepid, capable woman. They slowly fall in love... well, I don't want to spoil the ending if you can't guess it. The second book, I actively disliked because instead of two interesting people reluctantly falling in love, it told the story of two angry people barely restraining themselves from smacking each other but meanwhile somewhat overwhelmed by tides of lust. That may be just the thing for some readers but I didn't enjoy it.

My favorite Nora Roberts so far is her series of books about four best friends who together make a business for planning weddings. So don't buy this book, I recommend, but go find those four.
Delphi Collected Works of Alexander Pushkin (Illustrated)
Delphi Collected Works of Alexander Pushkin (Illustrated)
This was my first time reading Pushkin. I selected this Kindle edition for the cost, for a three session reading circle class. I was a little disappointed to discover that at least one of the short stories, The Queen of Spades, was severely edited. It was missing long, descriptive passages of the ball (dance), and the conversation between two of the main protagonists. The basic action components were retained, but much of the art was stripped away, like a Reader's Digest Condensed Book. Have not read all the included works yet; several of the other stories seemed fine. So, caveat emptor! And request to Delphi - please research your republic domain translations and make sure you are providing full works, or provide a disclaimer for buyers.
This Calder Sky
This Calder Sky
This book is one of twelve in the Calder Series. I absolutely love them and re-read them every 2 years. You must start with book 1, and then they have books 2 and 3 marked wrong, you must read book 3 first, then book 2. If you read them in sequence, you follow the Calder family through many generations, but I forgot how many just now. In every book I find myself totally involved in the family, I cry in the hard times, and laugh in the good times. It's so true to life from beginning to end. I hope Janet Dailey will continue with the story line. I would recommend this book but suggest you start with book 1 so you know who people are and it will make more sense.
Dr. Slump, Vol. 18: Final Volume! (18)
Dr. Slump, Vol. 18: Final Volume! (18)
The ultimate(last) volume in the Dr. Slump series finds the cast enduring once again the authors whims and lack of story ideas. The volume wraps up with a multi chapter 2nd Grand Prix, with the winner taking over as mayor of Penguin village.
It may have been noted in other manga that, during the translation to English, the publishing houses have altered the art and dialogue due to political correctness running amok. This volume has proven to be no exception. An under age drinking/smoking scene was altered to candy cigarettes and soda. In another story, in the original manga, some cast members were put into "Blackface" makeup. For this translation, the art was altered to give the appearance of cat whiskers, ears and noses.
I don't read Japanese, so I can't verify the accuracy of the translation.
Overall I'm pleased that VIZ has published all 18 volumes, but I value faithfulness to the original art/dialogue over PC.
The West Point Story
The West Point Story
“The West Point Story” is the weakest of the early Warner Brothers musicals featuring Doris Day. This is not to say it’s bad or that fans shouldn’t see it, but that it’s simply not on par with the others. It lacks the charm of “Tea for Two” and “Romance On the High Seas” and even the humor of a relative lightweight like “It’s a Great Feeling”. And this is despite a great cast of top studio players like James Cagney and Virginia Mayo and up and comers like Gordon MacRae, Gene Nelson and Day herself (who gets only third-billing here). The cast is the reason to see this film, for they all do their best with weak material.

I can’t figure why Warner Brothers seemed to not care too much about this film after committing some of its top talent for the project including director Roy Del Ruth who had done major musicals like “Broadway Melody of 1936” and “The Desert Song”. First of all, why is it in black and white? Of course there were many great black and white musicals but this was no longer the ‘30s or ‘40s. By 1950 musicals and lighter fare were expected to be in color while black and white was used for darker and more serious films. It looks like an attempt to save money, but why? In a similar vein, the West Point location is not well-used and it’s clear from the unconvincing rear screen projection that the cast was never there. This could have been a very colorful romp in a unique setting.

Then there’s the plot, silly, improbable and absurd even for a musical. One never holds up high standards of reality with movie musicals, but the possibility of any of the events and character choices ever being remotely real doesn’t exist. The dialogue is okay, but the rest doesn’t hold water. Cagney, playing Broadway director Bix Bixby, is a fish out-of-water at West Point, but this potential source of comedy is only briefly alluded to. Doris Day is practically a guest star who doesn’t appear until almost halfway in and then seems to just occasionally drop by.

The songs, by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn are slight and forgettable. Styne tended to save his best work for his Broadway musicals (“Gypsy”, “Bells Are Ringing”, “Funny Girl”). The songs here he could have dashed off in half an hour. He wrote “It’s Magic” for Day in “Romance On the High Seas” but here her most memorable tune is “10,432 Sheep”. Gene Nelson, who jumped on top of pianos and danced up bannisters in other musicals with Day is given some basic dance steps with a cane and little else. Gordon MacRae’s love song, “You Love Me” is nice while it lasts but that isn’t very long.

Cagney makes out best here, but Cagney was Cagney, taking command of any scene with a blink of an eye. He’s the principal character, on screen most of the time and is perfect as a conniving and irascible director given to sudden bouts of temper. Because of his perfection in gangster roles, some people forget he could dance up a storm. The studios liked to keep their actors in one type of role, and even Bogart and Gable were originally cast only in thug roles until the public responded more to them than to the blandly handsome actors the studio heads preferred as leading men. At least he had “Shanghai Lil” in “Footlight Parade” and his Oscar-winning performance in “Yankee Doodle Dandy”. I wish he had had these roles more often.

He is assisted by the beautiful Virginia Mayo and she gives one of her best performances here in a wise-cracking, comic role as Cagney’s sweetheart. It’s funny to see them as a romantic couple when their previous film had been the classic “White Heat” in which Mayo played the dissolute girlfriend to Cagney’s terrifyingly psychotic gangster, Cody Jarrett. Mayo could be really lively as she was here and in “Working Her Way Through College” but often, because of her looks, was given only decorative roles. There’s also a very early appearance by Alan Hale Jr. (later “The Skipper” in “Gilligan’s Island”) in a fairly substantial secondary role as a cadet.

All in all, it’s an okay film but with this cast it should have been so much better. Fans of Cagney and Day should see it but there are many better films with them for anyone interested in seeing either one. We can be most thankful to this film because it was from working with Day that Cagney recommended her to MGM to play Ruth Etting in the studio’s upcoming film, “Love Me or Leave Me”. Not only is this the only other film with the two stars together, but a powerful musical drama that is not to be missed.
Code to Zero
Code to Zero
I have read a number of Ken Follett's books but wouldn't describe myself as a Follett Fanatic, so this isn't one of those it's-by-Ken-Follett-so-it's-5-stars reviews; no it's five stars from me because irrespective of who wrote it "Code to Zero" is a great thriller.

Yes it's lightweight, yes there isn't a huge amount of character development, yes it may not be historically accurate, yes some of the language and attitudes may not be reflective of the time, yes you may have to suspend your belief at the speed at which Luke rediscovers himself, and yes there's sex; but so what, this is a great story, there are twists and turns, the structure with flashbacks that counter-point the real-time action builds the tension, and end-to-end it's told at a fast moving breathless pace: in short it's a real couldn't-put-down-page-turner.

But then reading the other reviews it seems to me that there are two schools of Ken Follett, on one hand there are the heavier historical trilogies, and on the other the modern lighter fast paced thrillers; "Code to Zero" whilst not contemporary is modern and is very much in the latter category. So read only if you enjoyed "Night Over Water" or "Whiteout", but perhaps not if you're looking for another "Pillars of the Earth".
Can This Be Christmas?
Can This Be Christmas?
This is a simple story plainly told that is warm and fun to read. A group of folks stranded in a train station on Christmas Eve find ways to bless the rotten luck that they have encountered by this storm, and they were all able to help each other with attitude adjustments all around, and you simply have to rejoice at the goodness that is within us all. I liked the characters and enjoyed the read. Not too deep, but who needs a philosophy lesson in every book? This is a good one to read in one evening in front of a nice fire while enjoying a glass of wine.

JOJO S - STEEL BALL RUN T01 (DEL.SHONEN) (French Edition)
(FOR ENGLISH READERS- THIS BOOK IS IN FRENCH)
There shouldn't be anything against the comic itself, Araki doesn't disappoint with the bizarre adventure, however this isn't the best way of consuming it. For some reason (Might have something to do with copyright or the louvre?) parts after three haven't been published in English yet. While we wait for the translation to come out, we can use this to learn French, look at the pretty artwork or keep for a collection...if you really want to.
Dr. Eighth (Doctor Who / Roger Hargreaves)
Dr. Eighth (Doctor Who / Roger Hargreaves)
The fun merging of the two enjoyable franchises continues with a further four Doctors be given the Mr. Men treatment.

This one sees the Eighth Doctor having to deal with a sequence of problems including a rogue computer, a spaceship in peril and a dispute between alien species (all things that the Doctor is more than used to dealing with). It packs a fair bit into such a small story.

I wasn’t so sure on the portrayal of the Doctor in this one. But then the Eighth Doctor hasn’t got so many distinctive characteristics to latch onto and his portrayal does seem to waver between the different media (even his two television appearances). It doesn’t help that unlike the other Dr. Men books the caricature doesn’t really have the appearance of the Eighth Doctor so much.

It is interesting to note that this story merges ‘classic’ and ‘new Who’ by featuring the new version of the Silurians with the Sea Devils.

I love the foil look of the Ravenclaw logo on these pants. I own three other pairs of 'claw lounge pants with different style logo and/or font, and these are every bit as comfortable & high quality as the rest. They are a bit longer than expected: I'm 6'1", 210lbs, & typically wear an XL in lounge pants... a L would've fit better in these particular ones. Still, I highly recommend them!
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Sony PSP
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Sony PSP
I own both the PSP and the Nintendo DS and I bought the PSP version of this game because of the bigger screen. But it's very hard to control the characters with the PSP and I think using the DS's stylus would be much better. I thought that the game was defective because I couldn't move a crate using the directional buttons, until I accidentally pressed two buttons at the same time.

The game is also very dark, even on the brightest setting, and the instructions are practically non-existent. You also can't save manually and the game only saves at the end of a level.

So far it seems like a children's game (I'm an adult). The "Simon Says" minigame only consisted of four colors to duplicate one time. Mine were green, green, blue, blue. And Harry has to run around collecting "studs" which are the game's money. So far the quests are stupid and simple, like saying "Hello" to three people that are right there in the room with you. Big deal.

I'm from the old school of DOS adventure games for the PC. How I wish that LucasArts would make their Monkey Island games for these handheld platforms. Those are what games should be like.
Insomma, dicreto

The First Years Portable Peace Travel Sound Machine, Multi Colored
I had the “first edition” when my now 7 year old was a baby. I liked that it plugged into the wall and also that the sounds mimic the womb. Worked like a charm. The new version is cheap. The sound clarity and quality even when it is working is poor compared to the original machine which we keep in our other child’s room. After about a half hour of continuous use it makes a strange interference screeching noise that it definitely is not intended to make. We have to return it because the interference noise makes it unusable. Disappointed.
Warner Home Video - Games LEGO Dimensions, A Team Fun Pack B.A. Baracus - Not Machine Specific
Warner Home Video - Games LEGO Dimensions, A Team Fun Pack B.A. Baracus - Not Machine Specific
An amazing purchase for your LEGO Dimensions game.

This is a fun pack, so you'll get B.A. Baracus as a playable character, as well as his iconic van. B.A.'s minifig is exclusive to this pack and he comes with an awesome mohawk piece that is also currently exclusive, so there's value there if you're just into the physical LEGO bricks.

B.A. is a fun character in-game. He has super strength, silver LEGO blowup, fix-it, as well as an exclusive ability called "A-Team Master Build," which is used for building up new vehicles from other small heaps of parts in some of the newer year 2 worlds and levels. However, B.A. isn't the only character included in this pack. After roaming around the A-Team adventure world, you'll eventually be able to switch between the other members of the A-Team (Hannibal, Face, and Murdock). While they don't speak and don't have as many abilities as B.A., it's still a nice touch if you're a fan of those other characters.

B.A.'s van is standard as far as vehicles go - though its level 3 build (the Pain Plane) can fly, which is always nice when roaming around adventure worlds.

Speaking of adventure worlds, this pack is currently the only way to gain access to the A-Team adventure world. And let me just say: its amazing. So amazing that I love it and I've never even see a single episode of the 80s show! But, it's inspired me to check it out after all these years, which I think means this pack will probably be even more loved by people who've actually watched the show, and it also shows just how much love TT Games has poured into the year 2 franchises. It makes me giddy thinking that a parent who grew up with the A-Team can buy this pack and sit down and play Dimensions with their kids and share their childhood with them, whether they're playing in the A-Team world or Adventure Time or Ninjago or whatever else. The A-Team may seem like an incredibly odd choice but it's brilliant.

I think this pack is a must buy if you own LEGO Dimensions and are looking for a fun pack. B.A. is a useful character, the world he comes with is amazing... the only downside I can think of is that B.A. is sadly not voiced by Mr. T, but rather a "sound-alike" which honestly doesn't sound that much like B.A. Baracus. Nonetheless, I can't recommend this pack enough.

I like how light weight, breathable and so many different uses. I got my package, opened it and my grandsons rushed me and grabbed their picks first! I'm especially happy with the fact nobody will get theirs mixed up! It's so versatile. I wore mine to the market and when I got back in my car I pull it straight up and used it as a scrunchie! I'm always laying my mask down and forgetting where I placed it. Not with this one. I wrapped it on my wrist! Very convenient to have. There's also an extra plus, my glasses don't fog up and my ears don't hurt from having that irritating strap that interferes with my glasses!!
Teach Your Class Off: The Real Rap Guide to Teaching
Teach Your Class Off: The Real Rap Guide to Teaching
Before this book, there was a YouTube channel.
Last year, I applied to substitute teach at my children's elementary school. I'd stayed at home with them for so many years, and needed to have the same hours and stay connected to them in some way. The issue wasn't getting the job. My problem was I was completely overwhelmed with the thought of being in charge of a classroom full of tiny humans. I managed to keep my own kids alive, but other people's? I thought to myself, okay, I need to research this. I watched countless dry, impersonal videos of classroom procedures, boring mustachioed men wearing 80's eyewear describing in monotone the importance of schedules and lesson planning...and then the holy grails of videos popped up.
It was CJ Reynold's face with colorful titles, and I believe the first video I watched was on Classroom Management. Oh my gosh guys, I literally wrote notes. I went down the rabbit hole and violently jabbed SUBSCRIBE. I cracked up. This dude was legit. See, I have a very similar sense of humor as Mr Reynolds. Humor is how I cope. Initially, that caught my attention. And then the message he was sending absorbed, and I remember my mouth falling open and thinking, "This is it. I had it all wrong before."
It was a few key points that you'll find in this amazing book so perfectly written in his "voice", that made me the rising star sub, who then got an interview, who then became a SPED paraprofessional, who now is going to the next leadership meeting as Lead Para this week. CJ explains the necessity of building relationships with students. That is so on point. Go on the OFFENSE, not the defense guys. Kids already have their backs up with authority figures. He explains ways to sprinkle magic and humor into everyday lessons. He'll show you that the best way to "discipline" troublemakers, is to CARE. Care about these kids, and want nothing but success and the best for them.
His videos and this book will turn the coin over and show you the other face of teaching. Teaching with love, and heart, turning it up to 11, making school as fun as you can because everyone knows school sucks. With the help of this book, you'll make a difference in these kid's lives, and I'm sooo grateful I clicked on that video a year ago. Because making a difference is what it's all about. Thank you Mr Reynolds (or Hip-Mr. Roger, as I think of you), thanks for all your time and effort to spread the love and the messages we all need to hear.

Power Strip,QOLIXM Surge Protector with 6 AC Outlets & 8 USB Ports (5V/10A),1625W/13A,6 Feet Long Extension Cord for Multiple Devices Smartphone Tablet Laptop Computer
This is a definite must product to have if you want a decent surge protector with multiple plugs as well as EIGHT USB charging ports. First thing I will note about this product is that it does not have too much space for power bricks on this. So if you happen to have a huge power brick you want to plug into this., I would recommend not getting this as there is not much space to be plugging those in. That being said it can handle up to six plug in devices at once and it protects your devices in case of overload. It has a good amount of length from the actual device which is nice. You do not have to worry about it being too short. What is nice is that there are holes that you can screw this surge protector into the wall or at the bottom of your desk easily. It is great for hiding cables. This is a great surge protector to have if you happen to have a lot of USB powered device. I have things like my fire stick and my hdmi splitter. The unfortunate part is that it cannot power the fire stick. It does not have the same output as the firestick power brick. It can however power pretty much anything else from chromecast to charging your phone. This does not support fast charging unfortunately but still gives a decent charging time. There were not issues on charging my ipads nor having all the USB ports being used. It all charged the same. With this surge protector, you are not have to look for additional USB ports to plug into. It also makes it very easy to organize your cables a bit easier. You are not having random USB cables trying to plug into random spots or even a USB hub. It can power up to six devices which makes it ideal for your TV or computer setup and having eight usb ports just make it great for all your smaller electronics. This can power my NES classic and raspberry pi without any issues. I normally would use this for my TV setup as there are several things that need power and this makes quick work of that. What is nice is that I can easily mount this against the wall so it hides well behind the television. The overall design is nice but it definitely does not give a ton of room for those devices with power brick plugs at the end of them. They will take up more than three spots even depending on the size of the brick. The plugs inside are very study so you do not have to worry about any cable easily being pulled out. The USB ports are not fast charging though so if you are planning to use this for tablet and phone charging be aware of that. That being said it does have enough power to keep a fire stick on without issue. It does not generate too much eat but keep it in open air if possible. Overall this is a good surge protector to have. You get a TON of plugs and USB ports so you do not have to worry about running out of ports. Be aware to not overload the surge protector and I think this is great device to have.
Yo Gabba Gabba Season 2
Yo Gabba Gabba Season 2
My toddler loves Yo! He isn't allowed to watch too much TV but we have GROWN to love this show and are okay with him watching it. Although repetitive, I love the music in this show. I hear my son singing along and he has started to dance along as well. We fell in love when we saw the celebrity cameos like Elija Wood and Hector Jimenez teach some silly dance moves and when there were guest bands like MGMT and the Shins. The characters are a little annoying but will grow on you but they have some killer dance moves so it makes it fun to watch. I like that there is not very much contention if any. Other kids shows seem a lot more about conflict but YO is just great lessons taught with music and laughter. They teach kids not to bite or throw things at their friends as well as tolerance for differences and to eat your veggies. My son is really understanding what is taught, when he throws things we just sing the "dont throw things at your friends song" and it TOTALLY WORKS. Overall an awesome show! My mother in law thinks it bizzare but the music coupled with a great message makes this a 5 star show!

New Apple iPhone 11 (128GB) - (Product) RED
The iPhone design is good and the camera quality is awesome. You can also take pictures in wide angles and the image quality is awesome.

Phone got delivered at 9am on 28th September (I pre-order it on 27th September at 3am in the morning), I got my phone before the delivery date with nice and secured packaging.

The overall look of the phone is premium and face unlocking is fast. I grabbed this phone with HDFC 6K Instant Discount Offer at Just 64K (128 GB Variant).

Cons:

1. The phone is great but if you use "in the box" accessories like "EarPods with Lighting Connector", then you might feel a little pain in your ears.

2. The phone comes with 5W charger which charge your phone slowly. I recommend you to prefer using 18W charger.

Well, I've never tried the iPhone before and I'm using this for the first time (Yes, I'm already using other apple products like MacBook Air & Pro).

But the product is great and I'm just lovin it.
YAHEETECH Computer Chair Ergonomic Office Chair Mid-Back Desk Chair w/Armrest and Swivel Casters - Black
YAHEETECH Computer Chair Ergonomic Office Chair Mid-Back Desk Chair w/Armrest and Swivel Casters - Black
Well, the chair broke again in the same exact spot. I emailed the company again 2 weeks before the 6 month mark. No Response. I have been emailing them every 2 days for the past two weeks. No response from YaheeTech at all! They don't have a phone number anywhere. Since I need a chair with a back (I have a history of back pain) I had to purchase another chair and made sure it was not from YAHEETECH!!!! They are a company that does not stand behind their products. *** I have emailed them to ask how long the warranty was from when I got the chair. I still have no idea. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM YAHEETECH. YOU CAN FIND BETTER PRODUCTS FOR THE SAME PRICE OR LOWER!!!!

(Original Review)
I have used this chair for about 2.5 months. Easy to assemble. I can sit in it working for 8 hours a day.

The chair made a lot of loud squeaks whenever I moved. It was bugging the hell out of me. Finally, when it seemed to be getting louder and louder, I took some white lithium grease and sprayed anything that moved. The chair has not made a sound in two months.

Last week, I guess I leaned back a little too quickly and the left back support bar snapped in half. I emailed Yaheetech, explained what happened, and asked how long the warranty was... they got back to me the next day which was good because of the time difference and language barrier. Any time they sent an email it was 24 hours later. They asked me for some more info, I emailed the info, they asked what part I needed, and they sent the parts list for the chair. I emailed them that I needed the Back of the chair. Then they asked me for the Amazon order details. I emailed them again and told them that I sent the info in the first email but gave the details again. They emailed back on Thursday, "Really sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. We'll send the replacement parts to the same address and update the tracking number for you ASAP. "
Chicco Caddy Hook On Chair, New Red
Chicco Caddy Hook On Chair, New Red
They ask for the comfort rating... that is silly since I can't sit in it and my 7 month old daughter cant speak and tell me if it is. That aside, it is easy to assemble and mount to you dining room table. It is sturdy and a good value for the money. The only negative is there is way too much room in it. How fat do they think babies are? We had to stuff towels all around my daughter to keep her centered. Now that she is older and has better balance she pulls her legs out and wants to stand in it. There is just too much room in this and doubt I would buy it knowing what I know now. It isn't bad, I would just look for one with a smaller baby compartment.

PURITIX HAP450 Air Purifier, H13 True HEPA Home Air Purifiers, Air Cleaner with Sleep Mode for Bedroom Office Allergies Pets Hair Smoke Dust
I'm pretty impressed so far with this air purifier. I bought it to use in our living room in order to get better and cleaner air circulation and so far it's been fantastic. It really does eliminate odors quickly and provides a fresh smell in the air. I found it super easy to setup, basically just plug it in and turn it on. It's got a ton of great features including a sleep mode that makes it run really quiet. The auto feature is also great and I've been using it while we are out of the house to automatically run for a few hours before we are back.

We also own a smaller air purifier, about 1/3rd of the size as this, but it just doesn't circulate enough air. With the size of this air purifier I'm finding a world of a difference in how much more powerful it is and the difference in air quality. It also looks aesthetically pleasing with the white/blue design. If your planning on getting an air purifier for a larger area in your home I would definitely recommend something this size!
