Practical Angular 2
Practical Angular 2
Buffett and Beyond: Uncovering the Secret Ratio for Superior Stock Selection
Buffett and Beyond: Uncovering the Secret Ratio for Superior Stock Selection
A lot of the free financial websites only supply people with 5 Years of History for Book Value, Net Income, Share Count and Dividend. The Morningstar website can supply 10 years.

Since the technique uses as much history as possible to adjust the book from an initial accounting book value, people using this technique will end up with very different clean surplus ROE ration if they have 10 years of history versus 5 years.

The author claims that the clean surplus ROE produces better results for stock picking than the Accounting ROE. The tables in the book showed the clean surplus ROE for his stock examples, but it would have been nice to show the traditional accounting ROE in the table as well as the Dupont ROE ratio which uses a different formula which is the profit margin multiplied by asset turnover multiplied by the financial leverage..

The example portfolios were 8 stocks versus the DOW. I would have liked to have seen the results of four 8 stock portfolios selected thus:
- 8 Best Clean Surplus ROE (using 10 years of data)
- 8 Best Clean Surplus ROE (using 5 years of data)
- 8 Best Accounting ROE (using 5 years of data)
- 8 Best Dupont ROE (using 5 years of Data).

The Author said the 8 stocks with the Clean Surplus ROE outperformed the DOW, certainly, but would a selection of the top accounting ROE or Dupont ROE resulted in a similar portfolio of stocks ? Stocks with a high clean surplus ROE also tend to have a high accounting ROE so someone can easily end up with the same stocks using the accounting ROE. It's hard to know without a comparison of the 4 different ROE

One other aspect which I wonder about is buybacks. The author adjusts the oldest book value with retained earnings but buybacks is an outflow of money from the enterprise. So following buybacks, remaining share holders have a bigger piece of a poorer company. Is there an adjustment which must be made with buybacks or alternative with share dilution via the emission of new stocks ? There was very little said about buybacks.

Live in Paris
Live in Paris
Was waiting to see this program for a while! At Last... I seen this. It was what I was expecting.

First, the video footage and quality is not the best, but it was filmed years and years and years ago, and filmed probably not on top equiptment and cameras, but, the show was about one hour and a half.

The songs kept on going, and they were very well done live by Cyndi! The songs mostly consisted of "True Colors" album songs, but this tour was of the "True Colors" era, so can't complain. And in between the songs, Cyndi talked to introduce the next coming song to sing, and not much, as she probably was a little quiet or not too much in to talking publicly, but when she did, she cracked me up in bits! When she was having fun, she giggled and smiled and talked! It was fun to watch.

Although, the price might be high, I was aware also... this show is pretty "rare", and to the average Cyndi Fan, (Us Cyndi Fans, are not just ... Fans, we know we are Cyndi F A N S!, we know what grade quality fans we are!) (You got to be a Cyndi Fan to understand it!) But, if you are a cyndi Fan, go for it and you will enjoy it watching after watching! I guarantee it.
Java 8 Lambdas: Functional Programming For The Masses
Java 8 Lambdas: Functional Programming For The Masses

KIDS 100% Natural Organic Healthy Roll On Deodorant for Children Healing Detox Aluminum-Free Carcinogen Free Certified Vegan Paleo Keto Rollon non-toxic no chemicals
Thank goodness my husband and I tried this before we put it on the kids. As soon as we got it out of the package I rubbed a small amount of the inner side of my forearm. Threw me off at first because it’s a yellow color, so I immediately got a wet paper towel and wiped it off. Then about 15 seconds later my arm started to sting and the stinging got worse until I washed my arm off with soap and water! I thought maybe my skin was just sensitive to it, so I rubbed a little on my husbands inner forearm. He is a thick skinned, work outside in all the elements kind of guy, and he said it started to sting his arm too!

I’m grateful we did not attempt on the kids first and burn their poop little underarms. We are returning this promptly.

We also ordered a crystal active deodorant stone and that has no burn, leaves no residue or discoloration, and is completely odorless. It’s worked on myself and the kids without and negative side effects. Highly recommend.

Bottom line: DO NOT BUY THIS DEODORANT!!!
Tower of Glass
Tower of Glass
Robert Silverberg's Tower of Glass envisions a future where artificial humans are produced (through some undefined genetic engineering steps; keeping in mind that this was the pre-cloning days for science). This led to a 2nd class, property status for the "vat" borne (as distinct from womb borne) with a further subdivision in terms of intellectual capacity with alphas, betas, and gammas. As their numbers grew, a quasi-religion among the vat-borne developed worshiping their creator (the richest man in the world as a result of his business in artificial humans) as well as a nascent political movement working for full citizenship. Against this backdrop, the "creator" is working on a project, the tower of glass, to communicate with an alien intelligence that has been beaming inscrutable messages to Earth.

Silverberg utilizes the recently (at the time) "cracking" of the genetic code to posit the possibility of building a designer human from which all the political, sociological, and philosophical angles evolve. At the same time, he injects simple, but undeniable transmissions from an alien intelligence, but without meaning as the mode of first contact and adds the use of exotic matter to create the potential for instantaneous communications. Finally, he crafts the feasibility of exchanging consciousness with another human being as a form of entertainment.

Overall, this was an ambitious and forward thinking conceptual piece for its time.
The Courageous Captain America (Marvel: Captain America) (Little Golden Book)
The Courageous Captain America (Marvel: Captain America) (Little Golden Book)
This is utterly inappropriate for young readers. Besides being poorly written, it is nothing but a propaganda machine for the armed forces at war and an absolute disgrace to them as well. Its reference to Pearl Harbor, (so relevant to Little Golden Books readership) with headline WAR prominently displayed, followed by tanks, helmeted soldiers and explosions with no context whatsoever suggest nothing less than fascism. The assumption that America is might, ergo it must be right, is a disgrace to country founded on the rule of law.
Wolverine Men's W05484 Durbin Boot
Wolverine Men's W05484 Durbin Boot
Husband has been wearing this particular Wolverine boot for about 3 years. He suffers from pretty severe right ankle injury with subsequent surgery involving screws and other hardware. As a result, finding a boot that meets his work standards in construction while maintaining proper fit and comfort is very difficult. Most work boots are far too stiff and restrictive and cause him great pain. This boot is soft and flexible and comes up to the ankle with just the right amount of support. These have the "broken in" feel almost immediately. They last him fairly well and are warm and truly wateproof. As long as they keep making this particular model, we will keep buying them. The cost on amazon is fair.

The Unworthy Thor
The Unworthy Thor

Somewhat a little bigger than expected. No, it's NOT plastic. This cutter is made a heavy duty and
very well built instrument. It actually cuts the pizza all the way through and DOESN'T leave some
of the slices sticking together. The cutting wheel doesn't wobble and feel loose, it is tight with a safe
solid handle and makes cutting the size slices that you desire perfect.

This cutter is easy to clean by hand or you can throw it in the dishwasher. I have had this cutter a couple

Premium Natural Wood Pizza Peel 12 inch, Large Pizza Paddle Spatula, Cutting Board for Baking Homemade Pizza and Bread - Set of 2
Premium Natural Wood Pizza Peel 12 inch, Large Pizza Paddle Spatula, Cutting Board for Baking Homemade Pizza and Bread - Set of 2
Upon receipt is looks nice and shaped well. Though not sure how long it will last. The construction of this 5 layered (not solid) 1/4" plywood/pine with the beveled front edge (you an easily see places where food will get stuck between layers when "scooping" pizza). All in all, this can be be easily made DIY if you have time and saw. Having worked with wood for years, be careful about putting it under water to for any length of time. Remember raw wood (yes raw) is like a sponge and the surface will roughen up. Cleaning should be done with a mild damp cloth and dried quickly. Occasionally you may still need to re-sand to avoid tiny wood splints in your food. All in all, I'll probably use this as a presentation tray (crackers, cheese, simple tray, etc.), not for oily pizza's or the like, unless you have lined this with foil or parchment paper. Else bacteria/mold/etc can form considering you can't wash this with soap and water.
Recommendation: If intended for pizza, get the metal bladed peel. For presentation or as a tray, this will do great (its nice looking).
Truth or Dare (Fear Street, No. 28)
Truth or Dare (Fear Street, No. 28)
And we have another typical Fear Street book with crappy characters being crappy and the ending coming out of nowhere with a barely strung-together plot. How surprising. I think for the last bit of Summer of Cheese I’m going to stay away from Fear Street. It’s getting far too redundant and annoying.

So you have a bunch of teenagers going to use a rich chick’s parents’ ski house for a few days and they end up getting snowed in. To pass the time they play Truth or Dare and it riles some feathers that cause one of the residents to go off the rocker and start killing people. That’s one hell of a game.

You have more characters who don’t have any general concern for the world around them so they’re crappy to each other, don’t have much concern for each other beyond what it would serve them. So when people start dying or getting hurt it’s brushed off fairly easily. Not surprising. So I couldn’t get behind any of them although I will say the protagonist (whose name escapes me, it’s not Dara) was okay but she’s really just a conduit for the story. She didn’t have a whole ton of personality of her own.

When weird things started happening I didn’t really care. Everyone was already back-biting and getting snippy with each other so why should I? When the plot finally resolved the culprit was pretty out of nowhere. I mean, I guess a connection could be made but the way the plot was written it was never intoned that this person could be committing these crimes so, like a lot of Fear Street books the ending was like, ‘oh, by the way, it was this person that you’d never suspect because there wasn’t any reason for you to suspect them.’

I’m coming to the conclusion that these books really don’t stand the test of time. It doesn’t necessarily seem like a market thing because Fear Street books are pretty much alone in the crappy characters being crappy to each other arena. So I think it was just Stine’s style when it came to writing YA. This kind of thing doesn’t show in his Goosebumps books and I haven’t read any of his adult novels. So I think it was just a thing that sold. With the new Fear Street I don’t find that level of character crap so I think it was updated somewhat for the current market while keeping its original creep factor. These old ones, though, the market just can’t bear them anymore. They’re far too lacking in depth for today’s teen.

The Stolen Prince: Gannibal, Adopted Son of Peter the Great, Great-Grandfather of Alexander Pushkin, and Europe's First Black Intellectual
The Stolen Prince: Gannibal, Adopted Son of Peter the Great, Great-Grandfather of Alexander Pushkin, and Europe's First Black Intellectual
An African man in Russia? Sounds far fetched but it's true Abram Petrovich Gannibal was one such man who came from slavery to preeminence in 17th century Russia. This novel attempts to find exactly where this enigmatic man came from and how he became a favorite of Tsar Peter the Great. Using clues from Gannibals letters, which reveal him to have an elusive personality, and accounts from poet Alexander Pushkin's Eugene Onegin, which are a more fiction than fact, the author attempts to track Gannibals journey from his African homeland, through the Ottoman Empire and finally to Russia. Along the way a cast of other colorful charactes reveal themselves and some are most beneficial to Gannibal. After gainig Peter the Great's favor Gannibal is educated in Paris and becomes an accomplished mathmetician, draftsman, and even pyrotechnic engineer. Yet as time passes and new rulers come to the throne Gannibal soons finds himself out of favor. Nonetheless his heritage should not be forgotten and is dully laid out in this novel. And it is still not forgotten interestingly enough in the Mountbatten family of Great Britain who have a line of descent from Gannibal.
The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon [L'Amour's Original Text]
The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon [L'Amour's Original Text]
First began reading Louis' over fifty years ago as an adjunct to young boy books. Thought that I had read everything he scribbled, but recently found this as a Kindle offering while surfing and didn't recall it as ever being in my library. I had to download it. First, there has never been a more readable writer than Louis; he presents a good drama and always starts his stories with an attention grabbing opening sentence. If you like an oater, there is none better than Louis to take you back to the the West and provide a romantic glimpse to the frontier and the people and characters that opened it up and made the the American West. Peach Meadow is not his best, but who cares? It is readable, gives good heroic characters, and passes a couple of hours very pleasantly.

Naruto: Naruto's Story--Family Day (Naruto Novels)

THEE BRON Girl's Toddler/Little Kid Classic Sandals Flat Shoes
Just for reference my daughter is 2 and wears a size 7 in shoes. However the size 7 sandals she currently wears were being outgrown. There were many mixed reviews about this sandal in regards to size. So I just stuck her her current size and they fit perfectly with a little run for growth. The straps are Velcro and the bucket is just decor.
If your daughter has wide feet as mine this is the sandal for her! They are padded and very cute!

The Guns of Navarone/Force 10 from Navarone (Cinema Classics)
The Guns of Navarone/Force 10 from Navarone (Cinema Classics)
Thriller writer Alistair MacLean hit the big time with "The Guns of Navarone," his second novel, in 1957. It was made into a very successful movie with Gregory Peck, Anthony Quinn, and David Niven in the starring roles. The idea of the secret commando team consisting of a number of specialized operatives (Cpt. Mallory -- rock climber extraordinaire; Andrea -- incredibly strong, lethal fighter; Cpl. Miller -- explosives expert; Petty Ofc. Brown -- engineer and radio expert; Lt. Stevens -- rock climber) with a suicidal mission was duplicated in numerous incarnations ranging from "The Dirty Dozen" to "Mission: Impossible" (the TV series).
"The Guns of Navarone" is a fantastic adventure/war novel. It's tight and tense throughout, and there's an edge to it that is missing from a number of MacLean's later works. It comes across as more realistic than the fun to read "Where Eagles Dare."
The basic plot of "Guns" is that the, during World War II, the Germans have recaptured from the Allies a number of Greek islands; the last one left will be taken over soon, dooming over 1000 Allied soldiers. The British would evacuate the soliders, except they can't get through a channel covered by the Guns of Navarone. All previous aerial attacks on the guns have failed. So Mallory and company are sent on a mission to approach the island of Navarone by boat, climb a sheer wall face, infiltrate the German fortress, and blow up the guns.
"Force 10" is the sequel to "Guns," written eleven years later. It picks up from the ending of the movie, not the novel, so characters who were in the book but not the movie disappear. This time, there's another mission, and Mallory, Andrea, and Miller are paired with three young soldiers who are more eager and less experienced. It too has an edginess to it, but it's not as thrilling as "Guns."
Note that the movie version of "Force 10" starring Harrison Ford, Robert Shaw, and Edward Fox is based on the book in name only (well, except for one fight scene, sort of). Andrea isn't even in the movie. So don't expect the book to be anything like the movie. (Which may be good or bad depending on what you thought of the movie.)
In sum, these are prime examples of MacLean working at his peak. You can't go wrong here.

Denim and Diamonds: A Novel (Debbie Macomber Classics)
Denim and Diamonds: A Novel (Debbie Macomber Classics)
I never expect anything less than wonderful when it's a Debbie Macomber book. Letty has been gone for nine years. She returns with her five year old daughter and a heart problem. Chase, the man she left behind, is full of resentment. It's time to mend fences and repair bridges. Great characters. I loved it.

I'm thinking that the people who gave this book 1 star must be Danielle Steele and Nora Roberts, or some other genius writer. Maybe Leonardo DaVinci, or William Shakespeare.
Tarzan & Janine (Texas Billionaires Club Book 1)
Tarzan & Janine (Texas Billionaires Club Book 1)
Elle James - Tarzan & Janine (Texas Billionaires Club Series - Book 1)

This new series is truly one of the best Laugh-out-Loud Romantic books I have read. The series is about four (4) College buddies (Tanner Peschke, Jesse Jordan, Rip O'Rourke, and Gage Jenkins) who committed to each other that they would become billionaires by the time they were thirty (30). These Billionaires do not advertise their wealth, not even their families. Now that they have achieved that goal, they agreed to find the right woman and start a family.

The first novel focuses on Tanner Peschke has a soft spot for women. He wants to protect them, give them a car almost free, which includes young to the elderly. He just has a sweet spot for them. Even though he is a billionaire and his father doesn't have this knowledge, he works alone beside him, and the Peschke used car dealership. His father wants to retire and gives Tanner three (3) months to prove he has what it takes to take over the dealership.

Tanner does the commercials for the dealership. After he is responsible for Janine Davis is fired from her current position, Tanner hired her to do the ads with him. You will LOL when the commercials are all based around Jungle Theme, from Monkeys, Python Snakes, and Camels. Janine wore a barely-there jungle outfit while each animal almost took her apart. The audience thought it was all part of the commercial, and they both became local stardom.

Recognition for Janine was great because she had dreams of going to Hollywood and becoming the next hot star. As Tanner and Janine continued, their attraction hotter than ever. Just when they both were going to declare their feelings, Janine gets the call from Hollywood, and she will be leaving.

Will they get their HEA since Tanner must prove, to his father, he can run the dealership. Find out, get your copy today.
Shock (Spanish Edition)
Shock (Spanish Edition)
One-third of the way through this book, I was laughing at the juvenile dialogue between the two Harvard idiots who, after answering an ad and donating their eggs for $90,000, never once suspected the eggs might be used in sinister and nightmarish ways.

Two years later, the Harvard chicks, while still exchanging the same dimwitted dialogue with each other, decide to seek out the children they believe were produced from their eggs. They don ridiculous masquerade, sneak into the highly-guarded Wingate Infertility Clinic, get hired under phony names and fool everyone they meet into thinking they are just regular employees doing their jobs. When it becomes apparent that their lives are at risk, they continue to dig for facts and evidence - an action not plausible for these two immature characters.

As soon as the discussion of pigs came up I knew the plot's course and the reason for the dingbat eggs. I did not, however, guess the crippled ending of this failed novel. Could a sequel be in the wind? God, spare us the misery if it is.

It's one thing to suspend belief, but Robin Cook hanged belief by its neck and strangled it to death. Shock is a pitiful waste of one's time, and it's insulting to the author's fan base. I'm not convinced that Cook actually wrote this mess. If he did, he's slipping. Maybe it's time for him to retire thy pen, and don thy reading glasses instead.
Alice in Space: The Sideways Victorian World of Lewis Carroll (Carpenter Lectures)
Alice in Space: The Sideways Victorian World of Lewis Carroll (Carpenter Lectures)
This truly remarkable book is a guided tour of the Alice books as enjoyable and enlightening as the books themselves--and that is saying a great deal. Gillian Beer is a master of English prose, it's a delight simply to read her as she demonstrates anew the immense resources of meaning and music of our language. Her particular concern in the book is to explore the intellectual background of the Alice books: what was Lewis Carroll reading, with whom was he in conversation, what cultural currents touched him and discreetly entered the books? Beyond that, Prof. Beer renews our appreciation for the wise and funny--and often moving--conversations and situations that Alice moves through. A masterwork.
For Your Eyes Only, and Other Stories (James Bond series, Book 8)
For Your Eyes Only, and Other Stories (James Bond series, Book 8)
Published in 1960, this collection of short stories was the eighth print outing for Ian Fleming's superspy James Bond. By using a short story format Fleming was forced to write pithier, faster tales than a full length novel, but was also free to experiment a little with his story telling and tell stories that would just not sit comfortably within the usual Bond milieu. For my money it is one of Fleming's best pieces of writing. Story by story:

From a view to a kill - This is a `straight' Bond adventure, a fast paced thrilling ride from start to finish, with a lot of incident packed into it. The tale opens dramatically with the murder of a dispatch rider in France. Bond is sent in to try and find the killer, and soon is onto a hitherto unseen trail due to an old maxim of M's. There is an interesting investigation and the tales ends with a thrilling action set piece.

For your eyes only - The tale opens with the brutal murder of an elderly couple in Jamaica. Bond is dispatched by M to avenge the murder, as it turns out the couple were old friends of M. The meeting between M and Bond is superb, and starts a running theme throughout the story of the morality of Bond's actions, and the weight that is sometimes on M's shoulders. There is a vividly drawn section with Bond closing in on his prey, and a tensely written and thrilling final shootout. It's the best of the `straight' adventures here.

Quantum of solace - Don't worry, this bears no resemblance to the film, it is much much better. This is the first of the tales here in which Fleming tries to do something different. Bond is attending a dull dinner party, after it ahs finished hi host starts to tell him a story about one of the hosts old friends, his emotional shortcomings and the break-up of his marriage. It's a clever piece of writing, managing to bring this every day tale into the Bond Milieu, and showing Bond's more human side as he reacts to the tale. Fleming in previous books had a really vivid prose style that he used to great effect to describe physical situations, here he uses it to similarly good effect to describe the emotional situation as he dissects the marriage. It's a superb piece of writing.

Risico - Another straight Bond adventure in which he is sent off to Italy to deal with a smuggling ring. After his initial contact with an informant he sets off to kill Enrico Columbo, who he has been told is the head of the racket. But after a dramatic scene, Columbo captures Bond and in a well written meeting the two men become friends. Columco tells Bond that he has been set up by the informer, adn they set off together to deal with the real villain in another excellently portrayed shootout.

The Hildebrand rarity - The second experimental tale here. Bond is travelling on a yacht with a tycoon and his wife. The tycoon is a bully, and regularly beats his wife. He is also searching for a rare fish, the Hildebrand rarity of the title. After finding and killing the fish, he is later found dead himself. After an internal debate, Bond sets the scene to make it look like an accident rather than murder, so as to save himself from being embroiled in a murder investigation, and because he feels sorry for the wife. This is another tale that focuses on Bond's human side, and looks at his attitude to death and morality.

The book is worth 5 stars.

This unabridged audio reading from Samuel West really does the book justice. He really does very little with his voice, yet manages to distinguish a host of characters. He also has a real pace for the rhythm of the stories, building up the tension in the thrilling sequences, and giving a very sympathetic reading in the softer tales. It comes on 6 discs in a spindle case, and clock in at 6 hours 20 minutes. It's superb, 5 stars.
The Broken Vase (Tecumseh Fox Book 3)
The Broken Vase (Tecumseh Fox Book 3)
Tecumseh Fox is not NERO Wolfe or Archie Goodwin, but a fairly good combination of the two. Yes, the NERO Wolfe mysteries area good deal better, but I suspect that, had he continued the series Fox would have developed a stable of supporting players that would have helped to flesh him out.
It is a good stand-alone mystery. Should keep you guessing. In my opinion Stout could have made the phone book ( remember them?) Interesting.
Mary Higgins Clark: You Belong to Me
Mary Higgins Clark: You Belong to Me
Of all the Mary Higgins Clark movies, this is my favorite. I have not read the book, so I don't know if there are differences. I remembered this movie from a long time ago, but was looking under the wrong actress and finally found it on Amazon Prime. I couldn't remember the name, but remembered the song which makes the movie very intriguing and a clever plot. All of the characters have a certain "grace" to them, even though there are still some stereotypes like cops that won't listen, etc. The murders are not shown full-blown, but unfortunately the near to the end scenes to me are way overdone and violent and detracts from what was a graceful subtlety--rather like Misery or What Lies Beneath, very suspenseful, but then all hell breaks loose? I usually like more than a hint of romance between lead characters, so some might be disappointed about that, but overall this to me is a movie that you will be drawn to watch again and again. Again, I am not quite sure why. Have a look and see if you agree.
Desire for Revenge & A Debt Paid in Passion: Billionaire Romances
Desire for Revenge & A Debt Paid in Passion: Billionaire Romances
In reviewing this document prior to purchase, it wasn't clear this was a reprint from 1985. The story was dated and not up to current romance expectations for todays romance reader. Paying $3.99 for a reprint of an outdated romance was a major rip-off. I will not be looking to purchase Harlequin from Amazon anymore - easier and cheaper to get current releases at a used-book store.

Harry Potter Poster Wall Art Set ~ Mounted Harry Potter Print (8" x 11") (Harry Potter Room Decor) (Gryffindor Lion)
This set comes with a the decal sticker and the wooden picture. That's it.
The 75pc Harry Potter temporary tattoos were NOT included. The Fantastic Beast bookmark was NOT included. The picture is good quality, happy with the wooden picture. The decal has a nice print. The two both equal the $10 asking price, so I'm not mad but disappointed by not getting all 4 as advertised. Maybe you'll have better luck?
Enesco The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Gringotts Vault Coin Bank, 6.26 Inch, Multicolor
Enesco The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Gringotts Vault Coin Bank, 6.26 Inch, Multicolor
I got my order today. First thing I want to point out, it came in just the box. As in the actual Harry Potter box with a shipping label sticker on it.

But for the actual product itself I gave it 5 stars! The price is more than reasonable. The paint and shape is well done and detailed, but it is Enesco so I’m not surprised. I find it a little hard to open the bottom door where you get your money out, but that could be just me.

The front measures about 6 in x 6.5 in and 5.5 in front to back. I thought it would be smaller, but I like the actual size. I highly recommend this product for all HP fans/potterheads. For the price I did not expect the quality I was getting.
Jay Franco Harry Potter Classic Crest Kids Bath/Pool/Beach Towel, Absorbent Fade Resistant Cotton, Measures 28 inch x 58 inch, Dark Blue
Jay Franco Harry Potter Classic Crest Kids Bath/Pool/Beach Towel, Absorbent Fade Resistant Cotton, Measures 28 inch x 58 inch, Dark Blue
At $18 for a small Halo towel, I expected better material, more absorbancy etc.
It is a very rough and thin towel that is not very large.

Love the idea and it does work as a towel, hence the 3 stars, but outside of this I do not recommend it unless you are a huge Halo fan (or fan of one of their other towel designs.)

Kids were excited, but it is not their favorite towel to use due to its rough/thin/tiny nature.
ALLYDREW Fashionable Plaid Infinity Circle Scarf Long Plaid Winter Scarf
ALLYDREW Fashionable Plaid Infinity Circle Scarf Long Plaid Winter Scarf
The hat is a tad thinner than the ones I bought at Walmart but it's what I would call passable.
I thought the scarf was more like cotton but it's more like a wool blend, so even better.
I prefer a smaller scarf that isn't too bulky and this is in the middle so that's acceptable.
All in all it's a good buy and you won't be disappointed. I wish they would make them in more colors and I would definitely order again.

Bonne lecture.
To the Edge of the World
To the Edge of the World
I don't know whether to thank or admonish Wired magazine for recommending this book. With the recent celebration of Darwin's 200th birthday, I've spent many nights up too late, reading this book for the last month. It's a HUGE tome, so be prepared to read it with some sort of support. With some esoteric language of the times and lots of nautical descriptions, I was sometimes confused by what was going on. Regardless, I think this is one of the best books I've ever read! I was saddened to have finished it.

It's "historical-fiction," with liberties taken to fill in facts, but it gives an insightful look at some many aspects of "modern, civilized society" in the period of 1827 to 1867, or thereabouts. This book is about FitzRoy, with Darwin as another character, although prominent. The topics covered in no particular order, but all intriguing, include naval history, geology, biology, geography, religion, sociology, society and culture, language, discovery, meteorology, politics, and some more topics I'm sure I missed.

This book should be republished and broken up into smaller volumes, already done, but include more maps, drawings, pictures, and a glossary...an "illustrated" version, for those of us who wanted to know more than just the text. I'm sorry that Mr. Thompson has passed, as I would have loved to have read more of his work.

It was very easy to install & adorable! However, I am disappointed in myself for not doing my research on this product. I didnt know it was old time wind up kind. Therefore, it only plays for a small amount of time.

Focalmotors Baby Wooden Mobile Hanger,Mobile kit Crib,Mobile Hanging Frame Bed Toy Decoration DIY Crafts Photography Props Newborn Gift (Style-C)
I love the idea of this product and what it is intended for, the shipment is very simple with 6 dowels, a bored out sphere and a hook, but the dowels which are supposed to fit into the matching holes in the sphere fall out. The holes are too big and too shallow for them to stay in.

Customer service was kind enough to send a replacement but that one was even worse than the first one. I suppose one could add some padding but not worth the chance that they'll fall out once they're laden with objects.

C2G 27366 Micro USB Cable - USB 2.0 A Male to Micro-USB B Male Cable, Black (9.8 Feet, 3 Meters)
If you look at the larger add, the choke shows, but not in the smaller adverising photos nor does the description spell this out. Choke coil adds weight and bulk to the cable and makes it less desirable for charging smart phones as it adds additional stress to both the plug and phone's socket. I ordered two cables at the same time. This one and another from BuyCheapCables. That cable was half the price and DID NOT have the choke. It seems to work fine (it fits snugly) for charging but I haven't tried syncing yet.
The Car Thief
The Car Thief
I just finished reading this extraordinary book. My eyes are moist and I’m a bit angry. The book’s cover
denotes that it was written by V. Reed. What the hell? The author is Vicki Reed and she needs to step forward and claim her prize. Like the intrepid horses she muses about, who garner prestigious yellow ribbons – this book is a winner!
In The Car Thief, Reed creates the character of a young boy, Kelly, and chronicles his eventual and ominous journey through the juvenile justice system. Early on, I was struck by the clarity and realism of her prose. She didn’t make this kid up – he’s too real, as well as his host of supporting and non-supporting characters. In fact, I’ve decided to suspend lucid thought and have chosen to believe that Kelly, and the people who profoundly touched his life, do actually exist in some cosmic world suspended around us. I want to meet Sam someday, the grizzled correctional officer with a heart of gold and beguiling wit. I know he’s out there. He has to be! Then again, maybe he is. Maybe he’s in all of us who care passionately about kids and, in particular, those who have suffered the ravages of trauma. I thank God, and I’m not that religious, for astounding books like this that bring the Kellys and Sams to life and pound us over the head with the simple truth that life is all about meaningful and dare I say it: loving relationships. Please, read this book.

Love that this comes 3 to a set as I have 3 kids. The devices work great. Each takes 4 AAA batteries (recommend investing in rechargeable ones) and lasts a few days of near constant use. Longer once the novelty wears off.

PROs
- Set of 3 instead of standard 2. If one is off, the other two work fine by themselves.
- Work as soon as you put the battery in
- LOUD (I have the volume on the lowest setting for all of them)
- Lots of channels / subchannel combos to choose from so you can avoid cross traffic
- Has a FLASHLIGHT in each one - super handy for my kids who are scared of the dark.
-Can take the hits - my kids have dropped them repeatedly and the worst that has happened is the battery cover and some of the batteries pop off.

Things to be aware of:
- Easy to hit the scan button to change channels and it just rotates through, so you have to hit it at the exactly right time to get it back on the right channel. My kids sometimes hit it and it requires an adult to fix it.
-Even when the volume is all the way down, there is still super loud beeps before and after pressing the talk button. But this can be turned off by turning tones off. Use the manual to figure that process out.
-Teaching my kids they had to release the buttons after talking to be able to hear the other people took forever. But that was not the walkie talkies' fault.

Overall, quality product that my kids are getting a lot of use out of. Highly recommend.

Exploring Art: A Global, Thematic Approach
I bought the paperback version. The last sentence of the item's description was as follows: "Also available with the fifth edition, MindTap provides the ultimate personal learning experience through an interactive eBook, digital activities, author videos for each chapter, apps, and more."

Does this not imply that the access code is included with the paperback? Or am I just crazy? I gave 3 stars because it's a book and it does its job, but I was misled. I wish I had been given useful information.

Sleep Headphones,Bluetooth Sport Headband Wireless Music Sleeping Headphones with IPX6 Waterproof Speakers Long Time Play for Travel Office Workout Yoga (grey)
I was expecting an okay product when I ordered this, I ended up with something I really like a lot. I had no idea that you could get a product with such good sound quality for such a small price. On top of that, when you're lying on your side its perfectly comfortable to wear (which what my main wish). There is one down side; it smells like some toxic avenger level chemical insecticide when it's fresh out of the package. I fixed this my washing it in warm water for a couple of mins after removing the bluetooth module.

TLDR: Great product, but needs a wash before you wear it.

Update: I broke this whilst washing it because I was a bit rough whilst straining the water from it. It lasted a total of 4 and a half months which isn't bad when you consider the fact that I run with it on 6 times a week and wash it after every run. On top of that I often sleep with it on if it's dry by the time I go to bed. I'm not mad that it broke, because it was entirely my bad, and when washing this product you should be careful not to pull the wires out of the speakers like I did. As a result of my experience with this product I bought 2 more - 1 for running 1 for sleeping. I genuinely love this product and am in the process of convincing all my friends they need to buy one.
New Apple iPhone 12 (64GB) - White
New Apple iPhone 12 (64GB) - White
Another beauty from Apple. I was upgraded from iPhone X and it was great experience with all the latest specs and flawlessly smooth. Thanks to all new A14 Bionic chip.
Build quality was great as always from Apple.
Phone feels light on hands due to aluminium body. I chose Blue colour because wanted to go for different colour than routine Black and white iPhones so initially I was bit skeptical but after seeing the phone in person I’m happy with the blue colour “ not bad at all and not too flashy”
Grip and feel perfect. Phone comes with iOS 14.1. Camera quality was excellent and sufficient as a normal user.
If you are from iOS ecosystem nothing will go wrong here.
There is nothing to question about the quality and interface from Apple ( it’s my personal opinion as a long time apple user)
As you all know iPhone 12 won’t comes with earphones and charging brick( adapter)
I bought separately 20w apple adapter from new Apple India online store for Rs.1900
I don’t judge here apple because of accessories removal and the price tag. I hope apple can justify this.
I only hope and wanted to see so badly Made in India IPhones so that we all can enjoy lower priced ( at least a better priced) iPhones in the future.
A big thanks to Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd and Amazon for delivering genuine iPhone as always in perfect condition. Delivered way before the promised date.
Update: (01/12/2020) After testing 25 days especially on battery life of this iPhone 12, results were amazing and I’m completely satisfied with the battery performance. On Moderate gaming, Moderate Video Content, heavy on calls and heavy on browsing this iPhone 12 battery life is sufficient for your regular Day.
My conclusion is definitely a better and improved battery performer than the previous iPhone model.
Thank you Apple India
Thank you Appario Retail Pvt. Ltd.
Thank you Amazon India.
( Note: charger brick was shown in my video was bought myself from Apple India online store because it won’t comes with the phone)
Best seller
Best seller
Pros:
1) Clean and bloatfree OxygenOS, which runs as smooth as they come.
2) AMOLED screen and 90Hz refresh rate really go along to make the display above average.
3) Battery life is decent and will last a day on normal usage.
4) Sound quality is good and modestly loud. (Drawback in Cons)
5) The design actually fits the hand well as it is shorter than usual on breadth, and a bit more on length, all the more better viewing experience.
6) Gaming performance is average. (Similar phones in this range have better gaming performances)
7) The phone looks and feels premium while using.
8) The alert slider makes it very convenient to switch between different modes.
9) Face Unlock is as fast as other OnePlus phones. (Very very fast)

Cons:
1) The camera is not as good as it was expected. The macro lens is pretty useless, and the main camera lacks depth and the colors aren't as vibrant as OnePlus 8. A bit too much of beautification was there in selfie shots. 4K video recording @ 60fps is absent but [email protected] performance is quite good. (The camera is better than most phones out there but it isn't what we were promised)
2) No headphone jack.
3) The mono speaker is on the bottom right of the phone, which tends to get covered by your hand while using. Also, being on just one side of the phone, the audio isn't as well delivered as it is on a stereo speaker.
4) No expandable memory slot.
5) The plastic frame (doesn't look like plastic but it is) is a worrying thing and makes the phone *comparatively* less durable.
6) Fingerprint scanner being under the screen isn't as quick as a traditional fingerprint scanner on the back.

Recommendation: If you're looking for a phone which delivers high performance and smooth interface for your daily use, go for it.
But if your prime purpose is gaming, there are better options available.
Also, if you're expecting flagship camera performance, you might want to consider other phones. (Pixel 4a is about to release, that's far better probably)

Update: Pixel 4a camera is surely much better that Nord's camera.
Oppo F17 (Classic Silver, 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage) with No Cost EMI/Additional Exchange Offers
Oppo F17 (Classic Silver, 6GB RAM, 128GB Storage) with No Cost EMI/Additional Exchange Offers
So it's been three days since I'm using this phone and I'm completely in love with it at the price I got.
1. Weight of the Phone is very less when compared to any phone in this segment and this matters a lot to me while carrying or casual music listening or any stuff.
2. Back leather type wrapper is really good and gives a premium feel.
3. UI is also good in terms of usage and mobile handling and compatibility
4. Camera is decent for video calls/ normal phots not that great especially for shotting long-distance objects/ sceneries. But this doesn't matter to me a lot. Come on use a professional camera if you want photography at peaks.
5. Design is excellent and it is the slimmest phone at 7.43mm
6. Build Material quality is good.
7. Sound is good but not that great for melodies or any songs please use earphones/headphones.
8. Display is really good and it's out of my expectation as I'm using Samsung AMOLED previously.
9. Processor is fast for general purpose and played COD and some other games at medium graphics didn't observe any lag.
10. Battery is okay and keeps you charged up for one day (General usage with low- medium gaming)
11. Software is fast and no clutter apps or extra apps.
Overall I would definitely recommend if someone wants a nice phone for general usage which looks classy.

AmazonCommercial Ergonomic High-Back Bonded Leather Executive Chair with Flip-Up Arms and Lumbar Support, Black
I have actually purchased 4 of these chairs just because of the comfort level of them. However, I am now noticing the first two (Black ones) I purchased is starting to bubble up and peel. Be very wary of everyday use, because apparently, the cover wears out quickly. I have never been so disappointed in a product or a company. Especially when they DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT! A chair should not be peeling like this at barely 4 months old. 1 was purchased November 14, 2019 and the other November 20, 2019. The first picture was when it started bubbling on February 18th, the 2nd picture is that bubble today. I have had to put tape on it to keep it from getting worse. Do yourself a favor DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN TO SIT IT IN REGULARLY!!!!!

TP-Link AC1750 Wireless Wi-Fi Gigabit Router (Archer C8)
My Linksys WRT54GS started to become flaky after over a decade of dedicated service. After reading a couple of trusted online product reviews, the TP-LINK C7 appeared to be the way to go. With the C8 since released, it seemed to be the natural progression in choice. Thus far, I have very little negative to say about this router.

Setup ---
There's pretty much four levels complexity to choose from: 1. Plug and play, using the WPS connection feature 2. A quick setup wizard that asks the pertinent questions and configures accordingly 3. The basic network settings tab that contains the commonly adjusted parameters and features and the 4. Advanced tab that lets the power user tweak their settings accordingly.

I generally know what I'm doing when it comes to networking (while I don't work in I.T. it is an important aspect of my occupation). I was able to get this router setup, customized for my home network, in about 15 minutes. The UI is simple, intuitive and seems to be well thought out. For example, I didn't want to use the default 192.168.0.nnn subnet. After saving the change to the router's LAN address, it rebooted and the web scripting flawlessly reconnected my browser to the router at the new address. It's simple things like that which can make a deployment go that much easier.

To top this off, the start screen has a decent overview status of your network at a glance. You can see who or what is connected just by clicking on the representative network map.

I also updated the firmware, which was a fairly straightforward task. Recognizing the version with what was available on TP-Link's support site was a little confusing at first until I recognized that the date was encoded as the build number. After that point, it was a simple download and upload to make it happen. If you've already deployed your router, be sure to back up your configuration first, as it will get erased during the update. Restoring the configuration from a backup file is an easy process, too.

Network ---
The router delivers what is expected. As far as wireless goes, you get the whole alphabet soup of 802.11 variants on both bands. One of the selling points for me to choose the C8 over the C7 is that the C8 employs beamforming, essentially throwing the WiFi signal in the general direction of the devices using it. I did notice a marked improvement in signal strength and range over my previous WRT54GS performance.

I connected my 1TB Western Digital hard drive to the USB port and it was quickly recognized as a storage device. After a couple simple sharing parameters were set, I had network attached storage without the need to keep a PC running. As an added bonus, the router can function as an FTP server, making your storage device available from anywhere you can connect back. With the dynamic DNS support onboard (your choice of DynDNS or No-IP), not having a static IP address from your ISP isn't a problem.

There is a SPI firewall built-in, along with several configuration options. My only concern here is that it didn't play well with my FTP clients in active FTP mode. While passive FTP was the quick fix, further investigation is needed on what exactly needs to be changed to permit active FTP connections without exposing devices on the network.

Physical Form Factor ---
This is probably my only real contention for this router. What it does, it does well. How it resides on my desk, that leaves a lot to be desired. Honestly, I would have much preferred the form factor of the C7. Perhaps I'm partial that it has a similar footprint to my former WRT54GS, but there's also a lot of headaches with the C8's physical design, mainly it stands up on an angle with a narrow base. The height pretty much rules out putting this thing anywhere except on the top shelf. And no, there aren't any provisions to hang it on a wall (which would have been welcomed). It gets worse if you plan on using this router with more than one or two Ethernet ports. The cables tend to manhandle the router and want to tip it over. Maintaining it on its intended stand is a little bit of a challenge without securing the cables.

My other complaint is that there are no individual link LEDs for the Ethernet ports. Practically every other Ethernet-enabled device has a link LED of some form, and it's a simple yet important diagnostic tool for quick troubleshooting. While not a deal-breaker, it is a feature that I feel is a huge design omission.

Aside from the way it looks, this router is quite proficient in its intended functions, offering very fast transfer rates, a strong wireless signal, and a healthy array of network functions with an easy to use interface. I tend to think that the reviewers who picked TP-Link probably got it right. Thus far, I'm satisfied with my choice as well.

Pigeon by Stovekraft All in One Ceramic Super Cooker, 5 Liters, Black/Transparent
It's been hardly 6 months since i bought this cooker and experiencing a dangerous problem, steam passes through the side of the cooker. As a result whistle doesn't come on time and water evaporates. Took it to service center but no respite, was told I should close the lid properly. I requested to change the washer but they didn't. Finally i got the washer changed by myself, after few days again the same problem.

Reaching out to their customer care is another task, we can reach only through emails, Pigeon's parent brand is Stovekraft and they aren't on facebook or twitter even they lack a proper escalation team to handle issues. I doubt the credibility of the brand now. I have decided not to buy any thing from Pigeon as there products are "use and throw" after sales service is pathetic.

SilverOnyx Air Purifier for Home, True HEPA Filter, 3-Speed Portable, Air Cleaner with UV Light, for Allergies and Pets, Dust, Quiet Odor Eliminator for Bedroom - Large Room 400 sq ft Black
This product review is based on one month usage. First thing I like about this air purifier is its compact and portable. The next thing that attracts me is the touchscreen operation, it works like a charm. It has three speed levels and the noise level is very minute for the level 1, as the speed level increases the noise level is bit more like in other air purifiers. You need to increase the speed level by pressing the Air Flow button. There are 3 timer level settings and it works great as well. Once the purifier is ON, the light will turn on by default and there is a UV option as well. The only option this purifier should be having is the purifying indicator which can show the level of purity before and after the air purifier operation, probably with some color codes. Overall, I will recommend this product, worth the money.

I am in my 40's and still deal with breakouts a lot more often than I should have to. I see a dermatologist regularly, have tried just about everything from diet changes to cleansers to Proactiv, to prescriptions. Some would work for a little while and then stop. Proactiv made it worse. I have very sensitive skin and have to be careful what I use and eat. I gave up dairy a long time ago and have to watch my sugar intake. As soon as I started using this, I noticed a difference. I use this twice a day. It does have a strong smell (licorice and other herbal smells), which I acutally like. It also can sting/burn a bit, but for those of us who are looking for something that actually works, it's a good feeling. I waited about two months before posting a review to see if the results were consistent, and they are. I wish I had known about this years ago. Natural usually works best for me anyway. I also use the Republic of Tea's "Get Gorgeous" twice a day which helps with my overall skin clarity.
