LaserKing Elon Musk Smoking Weed On Joe Rogan Experience - Unisex T-Shirt Black
I ordered this shirt for my brother as a Christmas present. The shipping got here in plenty of time, although it's important to note that the seller has the manufacturer ship the products, not seller directly. The quality of the shirt is great although it is a little bit larger than I expected. Overall, really good buy!

I love this show. I had no clue what to expect going into it, but this guy is funny. Each dollop of snark and vitriol is backed up with evidence and humor. Don't take it too seriously - just enjoy the ride.
Funko Marvel: Avengers 2 - Thor Bobble Head Action Figure
Funko Marvel: Avengers 2 - Thor Bobble Head Action Figure
We love our funko pops in our house and have recently started on our Avengers collection. Thor has great detail on him and the paint work was spot on true to his character. I do wish that he wasn't a bobble head as with kids around our bobble heads seen to be getting stretched out springs and wonky necks. As usual with amazon prime it was quick next day delivery and well packaged which is always a bonus.
The Calhouns: Catherine, Amanda and Lilah
The Calhouns: Catherine, Amanda and Lilah
The three stories revolve around 3 of 4 sisters who are trying to solve the mystery of some missing family emeralds. Each sisters story while revolving around the emeralds that belonged to their great-grandmother ends up finding the man of their dreams while looking for the emeralds at the same time that a jewel theif is also trying to find the emeralds. A little intrigue, a little mystery and a little romance equals some great reading. You will not want to put the book down.
Island Zero
Island Zero
I could go either way in rating this one, so here:

- IF you did not need anyone to explain what went down in Oceans 12 the first time viewing and love intelligent suspense thrillers, this is not going to satisfy. This is no Usual Suspects. Neither is it Jaws.

- I think the writer/director must have thought he left the end on a cliffhanger, but by the time the end came, we really didn't care what would happen ultimately. We assumed the worst.

- The script is a bit lame, ie. characters say things for the sole purpose of giving the viewer information, and a lot of times it feels forced or unnatural. ie. "And the generator only lasts two days, right? After that we are all going to be in the dark." (Um: Not if you have ever seen Survivor. Ever thought of anticipating two days from now now? And getting a fire going now? Shouldn't be hard with those homes and stores stocked with stuff. O wait. There is a plot reason the entire island of folks cannot start building a fire to save on the generator.)

- It is slow moving.

Oddly enough, I didn't mind the amateur acting so much as the script with its loopholes (if you think you are ever going to get any kind of interesting or solid explanation... none is really offered. I read that some of the actors were locals from the filming location, and I actually enjoyed that the folks felt "real" in a real way, ie. real folks who may not be the greatest actors, but the dialects and ways are interesting enough to carry the roles.

It takes some kind of gumption to cut a creature feature without going the route of any kind of intelligent context, why it is killing people, where it came from, etc. But a lot of creature features do get away with asking the viewer to simply accept something is out there and it is killing people and will we get away alive. If this is your kind of film, then have at it.
The Gaze of the Gazelle: The story of a generation
The Gaze of the Gazelle: The story of a generation
Heroes still exist. Myths are alive and playing out every day in this world. And we who have the immense privilege of freedom to speak out, read what we choose, travel where we want, wear what we wish, and pursue our dreams... we need to read this book and realise that even now, within 5 years of 2020 BCE, generations of human beings don't have the freedoms we take for granted, and young people are paying with their lives, trying to gain them!

And unless we find the courage that this Iranian author/publisher/doctor has demonstrated - living the heroic myth of his namesake and paying with the loss of the homeland he loves - more generations will live under the shadow of violence, suppression, fear, and death. If that can happen in Iran, it can happen anywhere. Despite superficial differences (the US president of the moment is anything but religious, though seeking the power of a god), the parallels between Iran's fundamentalist regime and current developments in the USA are blatant and chilling.

Beyond the rich Persian legacy of myth, poetry, art, and culture that are familiar to most "westerners," and beyond the news headlines I rarely pay attention to because they seem too far removed from my reality to be believable; I previously knew virtually nothing about the day to day lives of Iranians from the 1960's to the present day. I didn't even know any reason to want to find out. This book changed all that. There, but for the accident of birthplace go I, go any of us! And faced with the choices this young Iranian confronted, would I or any of us who take freedom for granted, have the conscience or courage to put our lives on the line for the ideals of justice and freedom that we are so used to that we hardly even think about them?

Honestly and beautifully written, this memoir of one young man and a whole generation reaches out and grabs the reader by the heart and the mind. Strongly recommended for an unforgettable reading experience, and a powerful antidote to complacency!
Alex Cross, Run
Alex Cross, Run
I love all J.P. books. This book showed another facet in Alex Cross and in the final two chapters makes you wonder if he and Bree are headed for a huge change I'm their lives.
The Cross family has taken on a troubled foster child, Ava, who is jaded and emotionally scarred from her upbringing and gives the family an insight into a "defiant" teen. While the family has gone through many things over the course of years their kids, due to their upbringing, have been relatively consistent in their behavior and while Nana Mama is a wise wise lady, even this girl is a little immune to her attempts. Just as you sense a "revelation" in this teen that there really are people out there who will genuinely care for her things out of her control escalate beyond her control.

Alex is under attack in the media by a blogger out to make his and his family and career miserable. Alex works hard to prove this man false as he fights to clear his name and experiences the feeling of frustration as his own co-workers are forced to detain and arrest him as this blogger creatively makes his life miserable and leaves him under the scrutiny of the Internal Affairs Dept.

I try very hard in my reviews not to give any spoilers that will ruin your desire to read the book, so I will leave it as this.

Patterson is an author who I never have a second thought about pre-ordering any book he writes or co-authors as I have never been disappointed. The only honest thing I have a hard time with is by having "Cross" in most of the newer titles and being such a prolific author I am always afraid I have missed a book somewhere, and while almost all can be read as a "stand-alone" I want to keep the stories in order. I almost wish rather than publication date that somewhere on the info given that the books were numbered.

Enjoyable at any rate. Happy reading.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Pop-Up Book. Roald Dahl
I like pop-up books and have amassed quite a few (even know the names off by heart of some of the best artists), having a kid gives me the excuse I needed to buy them! This is a beautiful book with lovely pop-ups and pull outs and one my son is not allowed to look at alone (sorry kid). This is the kind of book you really don't want trashed, this is the kind of book you want to pass on down the family. It is lovely and pretty and a joy to read.

The Timeless Writings of C.s. Lewis, the Pilgrim's Progress; Christian Reflections; and God in the D
The Timeless Writings of C.s. Lewis, the Pilgrim's Progress; Christian Reflections; and God in the D
"The Pilgrim's Regress" comes with the illustrations by Michael Hague, and the "afterward" to the third edition (which is a preface in the paperbacks I have seen). It does not have the brief explanatory guides which come at the beginning of each chapter of those paperbacks. (Some would say that we are better off without them, at least for the first reading.)

"Christian Reflections" is a relatively early collection of papers by Lewis, and it includes the helpful preface by Walter Hooper. It should be good for those who have not yet read many of his papers. I like it as well as any collection I have seen.

"God in the Dock" brings together a selection of essays and other short pieces by Lewis, again with an introduction by Hooper. These are not all as carefully considered as those in Christian Reflections.

There is a great deal of material in this volume --good material to be sure-- but the sheer quantity means that the pages are full, and the typeface is not as large as I would have liked in my old age.
The Chase
The Chase
I liked some of the characters and despised the Cromwells. There is a lot of action, happening back in 1906. A car race. A train race. I enjoyed that. But I found some of the terminology beyond my experience and education. I had to look up many words and when I have to stop and determine a word meaning, it slows me down, and I lose my place.
This is my first Clive Cussler book. I finally finished it, and the next book looks intriguing, so I believe I'll just jump in again with his next book ,The Wrecker, and see what happens.
This book kept you holding on the arm of the chair, or grinding your teeth together
An edit: Shortly after Isaac's agent Irvine dies, his other agent becomes Conrad. His name is actually Curtis. This misidentification runs through several pages, a couple of chapters. It confused me for several minutes trying to remember when Conrad came on board. Anyway maybe that could be cleaned up so there wouldn't be so much confusion.
I am looking forward to the next Clive Cussler even though I have to keep a dictionary close by. My congratulations to the author.

Bleach (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 18: Includes vols. 52, 53 & 54 (18)
I love Bleach and the Fullbring arc is one my favorite arcs. 3 in 1 is good if you’re collecting and want to catch up in a series. (I finished Bleach Manga via online and this and the 3 in 1 volume before are my only physical copies of the Bleach manga btw) Here are my pros and cons for 3 in 1 volumes.

Pros
- Cheaper in price
- More content
- Better cover artworks (From what I saw)
- Best way to collect and have a whole series

Cons
- Each page is very thin so you gotta be careful when flipping pages
- Lower quality paper
- Harder to read compared to single volume
- Spine can crease more
Anne Rice's, Lives of Mayfair Witches, 3 Books: Lasher / Taltos / The Witching Hour
Anne Rice's, Lives of Mayfair Witches, 3 Books: Lasher / Taltos / The Witching Hour
Giving only one star because the Witching Hour book fell completely apart. The story was excellent. I love Ann Rice. I have ordered many of her books on Amazon. I’m not complaining, but I’m extremely gentle and light handed with all my possessions. But The Witching Hour completely fell apart. The front cover came off, pages upon pages from inside fell out and the back cover came off with a few more pages came out. I purchased all three books. “The Witching Hour, Lasher and Taltos” spending almost $50.00 dollars. Now I’m not rich and I like to keep my books in well condition. I’m very upset. I feel you should send me free of charge a new book on the “The Witching Hour”. Thank you
A Time to Die
A Time to Die
i have read most of Wilbur Smiths novels featuring the Courtney family of South Africa and found them to be terrific five star novels but this one fell a little shy of that for me. But that being said this book is very well written as always and is a total action thriller with a linear plot that just does not express the passion of previous books.

The story begins when Sean Courtney, big game hunter, leads a safari in search of a trophy elephant that is the lifetime goal of Ricardo Montero the hunter, accompanied by his daughter Claudia who is totally repulsed by his desire to harvest the magnificent animal. The hunt consumes about the first two hundred pages of the book and ends in an extraordinary climax that is astounding. Unfortunately the hunt drags on and on and becomes quite tedious to follow.

Upon return to camp Sean discovers that in his absence Claudia has been captured by the Renamo rebel forces led by the truly evil General China who are trying to retake their country of Mozambique held by the Frelemo government army. Sean catches up with the general and he is forced into an agreement to carry on a mission in order save the life of Claudia. What follows is an exciting journey that is bogged down with endless nighttime treks through the forest that despite being part of the story become redundant. The author does a wonderful job of describing the blood lust and savagery that exists along with the tribalism in modern Africa that continues to plague the African continent. There are many passages that are brutal but well done as usual by the author.

Overall this is a very good adventure story but I found the relationship between Claudia and Sean to be to melodramatic and the feats of Sean approaching super hero level at times. Still a worthwhile read although I found the ending disappointing.
The Greatest Enemy
The Greatest Enemy
HMS Terrapin is a veteran of World War II and is about to be decommissioned and turned over to the navy of a newly independent asian nation. The crew know it is the end of the line for the ship and are eager to get off of her and back to the real Royal Navy. They are simply marking time until the day arrives when the white ensign is lowered for the last time.

Then along comes a new commanding officer who has other ideas about what the mission of the ship will be. Until she decommissions he is determined that she will be a vital ship of the Royal Navy. He has a new executive officer who has arrived under a cloud due to an incident in his last ship. The new captain is a driven man who wants to use TERRAPIN as a stepping stone in his own career advancement. The new captain orders the ship's crew to get her back into condition for action at a moment's notice. The crew is baffled by the new captain - can't he see that the ship only has a few months left? seems to be in everyone's mind - in the crew's mess as well as the wardroom.

His executive officer is caught in the middle. He tries to keep peace in the wardroom and the rest of the ship. He points out to the captain that several of his actions are potentially leading to trouble but the captain is determined and he is the captain.

A new medical officer joins the ship and some of the questions about the captain's actions are answered. The captain had suffered a nervous breakdown and was given the ship as means of keeping him out of trouble until he could quiety be retired but this wasn't how the captain saw the assingment.

He has mutinous officers as well as some who come to respect him if not his ideas. He demands that the supply officer stand bridge watches and drive the ship and he becomes a competent officer of the watch as time progresses.

The climax is one that could be seen developing through the book - at least a clash with another ship at some point, and it finally happens. It leads to the death of the captain and something of a eulogy for him at the court of inquiry into what happened.

This was written at at time when the US was heavily involved in Vietnam and the Royal Navy was beginning the final winding down of its major presence in Asia. A US naval officer had been removed from his command (which was an old WWII veteran ship soon to be disposed of) after reports from his officers inicated his was not following proper rules and regulations in the running of the ship and taking questionable actions in the pursuit of the enemy off the coast of Vietnam.

Now (2009) it is a good time to re-read this book in light of expansion of regional navies - India, China, Japan and Korea, to name a few. The activities of these navies as they assume more of a regional influence is a good counter-point to the events that Reeman is writing about in the late 1960s-early 1970s.

Reeman's book looks at the incident using the Royal Navy. He has an excellent group of charecters in his book and at the end of it, you might have a more sympathetic understanding of the captain. I felt is was a fine book and I've read it on numerous occassions since the first time I saw it.

Now (2013) we see China and Japan facing off over a cluster of uninhabited islands with daily confrontations between ships of the respective Coast Guards while Japan and The Republic of Korea spar diplomatically over the Dakto Islands. Reeman was certainly writing fiction that has turned into reality.

Summary & Study Guide The Glass Bead Game by Hermann Hesse
As a study guide, this did not help at all and I was sorry that I did not just buy the whole book.If you have not read the book, the study guide makes little sense. Since this is a philosophical treatise, it would pay the rader to read the whole thing.
Hawaii: A Novel
Hawaii: A Novel
This was one of Michener’s first long sagas about a single place. Hawaii is worth the treatment, a crossroads of the Pacific almost impossibly reached by Polynesians, who then lived undisturbed for nearly a millennium until Westerners landed. It then became a crossroads for Chinese, Japanese and other East Asians as well.

MIchener has so much to work with:

— The beautiful and relaxed Polynesian cultures, with their generosity, expansive notions of family, and habitation of a tropical paradise that once allowed them to live easy;
— The American missionaries, New England Congregationalists of deeply Calvinist bent, appalled by the Hawaiians’ paganism and sexual mores, and deeply determined to convert and Westernize them;
— The Chinese, strongly traditional, wily and entrepreneurial, and deeply rooted in their culture; — The Japanese, disciplined and dutiful, deeply rooted in their culture like the other groups, but more nationalistic about their rising homeland.

The story of how these groups collide, and the unique blended culture they form, is a kaleidoscope of wonderfully told events. The harrowing voyage of the first Samoans, losers in a religious war. The equally harrowing voyage of the first missionaries in cramped sailing ships around Cape Horn. Measles that kills off many natives in the early years. An epidemic that rips through the Chinese community, causing authorities to burn it down. Pearl Harbor. The Americans’ successful plot to overthrow Hawaii’s monarchy and annex it into the United States. The deeply conflicted position of Hawaii’s Japanese, whose sons become a legendary battalion fighting in Europe to prove their Americanism, as the U.S. fights the Japanese in the Pacific and interns many Japanese in detention camps. Hawaii’s drive to statehood.

We meet fascinating and unforgettable characters. Bold sailors, daring traders, shrewd peasants, pioneering entrepreneurs, dying lepers, rich landowners, Hawaiian royals, beachboy gigolos, and an American gentry divided between paternalistic caretakers, ruthless business leaders and those grown soft and decadent.

The missionaries’ descendants - mostly white but with some intermarriage with the Hawaiians’ - dominate the islands’ commerce and agriculture. They need the Asians for their labor, the native Hawaiians not being terribly industrious, but wish the former would go home after saving some money. Schools and public office are barred to their children.

The first generations of immigrants aren’t that interested in full equality; they want to work, save money, get by, make their way, maybe send money home, maybe return there themselves. Their children and grandchildren, though, resent being second-class citizens.

Michener’s “Hawaii” has been required reading for a long time for those from or visiting the Hawaiian Islands, a place totally worthy of a saga like this.
Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)
Harry Potter Paperback Box Set (Books 1-7)
Stunning Hardback Collection

As for the books being hardback vs paperback debate. This set that I am reviewing (the set in this picture ISBN:9781408856789) are indeed the hardback as stated in the listing. I would encourage you just to read the description of what you are ordering and check the ISBN for details.

The art work on the covers of the Red Collection is beautiful. The hardback also has golden inlay stars on the actual cover on all the books as well as golden inlay writing on the Spine.

I got this set in the mail yesterday and stayed up way to late last night reading. :) I am an almost 37 year old adult and I am over the moon in love with the beauty of these books. I actually ordered this hardback set as a Birthday gift to myself from myself. I never read the books growing up but always enjoy the movies and watch them often with my kids. I highly recommend this version set to anyone who appreciates lovely art work on covers.
Harry Potter: The Dark Arts (Tiny Book)
Harry Potter: The Dark Arts (Tiny Book)
I preordered this tiny book for my sons Christmas pile and it came this morning. I knew it was going to be tiny but even still, I was really amused and surprised at just how tiny it is! The photo shows best how it looks in my hand.
The book itself is in the cutest little slip case, just as good quality as a full sized one.
The book is also really good quality. I can read the pages (only with my specs on!) and see the illustrations. It’s all very sharp and clear which makes the size even more amazing.
I’m really tickled with this gem, my son will love it and it’ll be fantastic with the rest of the odds and bods I’ve gathered. It won’t take up much display space either!

Editing to say I see other reviewers are complaining about how small this book is but the size is clearly stated. Always check the measurements, folks. 😉
Harry Potter 1art1 Framed Collector Poster - Ticket London to Hogwarts (16 x 12 inches)
Harry Potter 1art1 Framed Collector Poster - Ticket London to Hogwarts (16 x 12 inches)
First of: Allow me to say that in overall I am quite satisfied. Now. I wasn't really when I first got the package in the mail, simply because it wasn't what I was expecting (perhaps those were off).
The picture the seller shows is already grainy; well so is the ticket, just a little bit. It's not replica-worthy sharp, nor are there golden elements on there that shine like in the movie.

I must say once you get over that inital shock you appreciate the frame it's in with the 2-color background which makes it feel like a more premium product (mine even came with a licensing stamp). So in overall: good product, I'm very happy with it, though I'm not sure if I would recommend it
Charlie Countryman [Blu-ray]
Charlie Countryman [Blu-ray]
Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban [PB,2001]
Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban [PB,2001]
Harry Potter Deluxe Quidditch Robe, Medium (Size 8-10)
Harry Potter Deluxe Quidditch Robe, Medium (Size 8-10)
It was $27.85 and was delivered in less than 24 hours...there are no house elves making this somewhere when the order is placed. I thought the material would be different based on the picture (the description could have ABSOLUTELY described it correctly, but based on the picture I was surprised). The stitching was bunched throughout the garment on the yellow ribbon. The back slit was just sergered and not a "finished" look, and the transfer on the back of the robe was already thin in spots as though it was done quickly... BECAUSE IT WAS (: HOWEVER, my son loved it, it will suit absolutely suit our purposes, and we need it for ONLY one night. Would I have paid more than $15 in the store, nope....am I going to shut my yap and make due because it's done and my kid likes it....SURE AM! If you are looking for "high quality" this simply is not it, but it is great for what it is.
The Big Switch: The War That Came Early, Book Three
The Big Switch: The War That Came Early, Book Three
Harry Turtledove has proven time and again that he's a really great storyteller, especially when it comes to working with history. Though he's written straight historical novels like Fort Pillow and (as H N Turteltaub), the Hellenic Traders series, he's best known for writing alternate history novels which frequently expand into massive series.

The War that Came Early: The Big Switch, is the third in a series where World War II, well, comes early. For those not up on the series, it starts when France, the Soviet Union and the United Kingdom stand up to Germany after the invasion of Czechoslovakia in 1938 rather than waiting until the invasion of Poland in 1939. The result is that the war begins before both sides are really ready.

This leads to a very different sort of war than what we're used to. Fascists and Republicans continue to fight in Spain, Germany faces off against the UK and France (which does not fall as it did in our world), while also invading the Low Countries, Denmark and Norway, Japan invades Siberia and lays siege to Vladivostok, and Poland allies with Germany against Russia, leaving Germany no place to build their planned extermination camps. Something that would be hard to do anyhow, since Poland isn't interested in killing off their Jews. And through it all the United States sides on the sidelines and waits...

As this book begins, it is 1940 and we get updated on the various characters from the previous books. These include an American civilian stuck in Stockholm, a British soldier on an island off Norway, a Russian pilot from the Caucasus, a Czech fighting in the French army, an American Jew fighting in Spain, a German panzer soldier, as Jewish woman living in Germany, an American Marine in Shanghai, a Japanese soldier in Siberia and others. Like any Turtledove book, there's no shortage of viewpoint characters.

Some of these characters and their stories are more interesting than others. My favorite thus far is Peggy, the American woman who just wants to get home after getting stuck in Europe far longer than she'd expected. Others, like the German panzer soldier and the Japanese soldier, are less interesting and I didn't care nearly as much for their stories.

And that's something of a failing for the series as a whole. While I didn't care about or for every character in the Worldwar or Timeline 191 series, I did at least find almost all of them interesting. It helped that, especially with the Timeline 191 series, I had quite a lot of time to get to know them, both in and out of combat. Even by the end of this book, which is, as I mentioned, third in the series, I don't feel that I know all the characters nearly as well as I should, though one that should make some readers happy is that we don't get nearly as much detail about the characters sex lives as we did with some of Turtledoves's other works (something I never had a problem with, but I understand why people don't much care for Mark Twain slash fiction).

On the other hand, Turtledove has done an excellent job of overcoming one of the serious problems with Timeline 191, and that's the predictability. In that series, we knew pretty much from the start of the Great War where things were going to go, and there wasn't a single really major surprise.

In this series, however, things aren't nearly so predictable, and the surprises are many, including the fate of one of England's most well-known politicians and the "big switch" that gets mentioned in the title.

Ultimately this book, and this series, are an interesting read with a good premise, and even if the characters aren't what I want them to be, I really do look forward to seeing what happens with them, even if I have to wait another year to do so.
Wandl the Invader
Wandl the Invader
A continuation of a previous sci-fi story. This tale gets pretty exciting at times. An explanation of the characters leads the reader to recognize them as the story proceeds. A great tribute to the author who passed away in 1957 after writing a series of sci-fi tales.. If you like to read science fiction in the old way, you will enjoy reading this story.

We have been using Tmob prepaid minutes you buy in block of 1000 minutes (not the newer $3 a month) for many years.
It has been lasting less and less time between refills and they don't provide a way to see where the minutes go, so the whole thing was feeling increasingly sketchy.

After quite a bit of research I decided to ignore all the horror stories about Mint(mostly regarding activation issues) and give it a shot. I was set to order this from Mint but on their website you pay this price + taxes and fees and it takes 2-4 days delivery so I ordered here.

It arrived the next day. Mint advises you watch their video about porting your number so I did but there wasn't really anything there new to me. If you have any concerns you should probably watch it.

Steps I took:
1: I logged in to Tmob and verified that the pin and pw and account information I had were all still accurate and working and wrote them down

2: Powered off the device and swapped out the sim cards.

3: Pulled up the Mint activation page on my laptop and filled in the activation code on the sim card.

4: Made sure to click "Keep my number" and then filled in the previously recorded information.

5: Received an activation complete message on screen with a warning that it could take up to 24 hours for the port to finish.

6:Powered up the phone, and instantly had welcome messages from Mint.

7: Sent a test text from google voice account on laptop, which was successful.

8: Followed the Mint instructions to set up mms texting.

I appreciate that if I had been on a different carrier it may have been different but for me this was incredibly smooth and easy.

Phone is working flawlessly and I no longer have to worry about each call and text consuming minutes. Oh and I have data now too.

I inflated 28 of these balloons before a New Years Eve party (plus one that was defective with a hole in it). Actually, I slightly overinflated these balloons. During the first 24 hours, a few popped, mostly ones placed directly below a heater vent. After that, only one more has popped and one mostly deflated. It is now February 9 and the remaining 21 still look the same as they did 40 days ago. They may last until next NYE.

The somewhat metallic look is very nice and they are beautiful balloons, but the durability is beyond belief.

UPDATE: It is now March 6th and all of the 21 balloons still look the same. They may have possibly lost a tiny bit of air, but I can't really tell for sure. They very well may last until next New Year.

FURTHER UPDATE: It is now April 11 and I can tell that the balloons have lost some air, but someone seeing them for the first time would think that they look very good. A friend suggested that I should have taken them to Costco tire center and filled them with nitrogen; they might last all year.

FINAL UPDATE: It is now October 2 and half of the balloons are still half inflated. Since I over inflated originally, they are still a decent size and look quite good. If you didn't know how large they were originally, you would be impressed. I'm assuming that some may still look good for their second New Year. I'm impressed.
King of India
King of India
"King of India" is an interesting documentary that follows the lives of a family of illiterate street performers in the busy city of Kolkata, India. There's the father, Ratan, mother Radha, and a bunch of children, both boys and girls of varying ages. The filmmaker had filmed this family over a period of six years, between the years 2002-2008, and I found the film to be quite engaging and interesting.

The lives of these street performers is not easy - they live day to day, and the parents depend on the younger children to perform and feed them, so the children naturally are kept out of school. This breeds a culture of illiteracy, and it is hard to imagine this way of life being sustained long-term, especially now in the era of globalization where the educated have better chances of becoming prosperous than the uneducated.

It was quite a revelation to see how young the children were when they were married off, typically in their teens, and that marriages had to be within the community of street performers. Children end up shouldering their parents' debts, continuing the tradition of street performing, and inducting the younger generation into the trade. Though the documentary focuses on one family and it's travails, I would have appreciated some statistics such as the percentage of active street performers still plying their trade in India, and if any of them left the profession in search of a better life, and also if there are any who have taken a different approach in terms of getting their children educated.

Té de hierbas
Té de hierbas
In Japan chrysanthemum is the flower of love while in France, at the beginning of november, we always put a chrysanthemum pot on the grave of our beloved to celebrate their memory and tell them how much we love and miss them. I love chrysanthemum and always buy a flower pot for my home. It is a beautiful flower, really. It is also very healthy to add water to chrysanthemum flowers (chrysanthemum indicum) to make a tea free of theina which will protect your heart and your immune system, and even reinforce your bones. This brand produces a very flavorful tea that is very affordable as it can be sometimes very expensive to buy, especially in Europe. This tea variety probably originates from the Song Chinese dynasty when China was the most advanced place in the world (Imagine that it was the High Middle Age in Europe...). Anyway this tea is full of antioxidants and good for your skin, your eyes, etc. NEVERTHELESS, if you are allergic to tea plants like daisies or ragweed do not drink this tea or ask your doctor for information.
