Louis Armstrong - Greatest Hits
Louis Armstrong - Greatest Hits
Louis Armstrong - Greatest Hits put out by RCA Victor gives us a solid assortment of numbers by the immortal Louis Armstrong. The sound quality is really rather good; and the artwork is excellent.

The track set opens with "Sugar" performed by Louis Armstrong & His Hot Seven band. The quality of the sound surprises me considering the age of the recording. Louis sings this to perfection and beyond; and his buddies play so well. I think "Sugar" makes a great starting track for this album. "St. Louis Blues" does have a bit of surface noise; but it doesn't interfere with the sound of the music. Louis wails out great and this number really jams! The trumpet playing Louis adds to "St. Louis Blues" really impresses me--but, then again, was there ever a time when Louis Armstrong disappointed anyone?

"I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues" features some more great singing by the great Louis Armstrong; and the melody is beautiful. The brass enhances the number so well; and this number holds its own effortlessly. "I Gotta Right To Sing The Blues" is definitely a highlight of this CD. Listen also for "Ain't Misbehavin';" this W.C. Handy number sparkles like gold when Louis and his buddies perform this flawlessly. Together Louis and his band bat "Ain't Misbehavin'" straight out of the ballpark! It's an awesome number that I always liked because it's so playful.

"Mood Indigo" is a more recent recording that features Louis squarely in the spotlight--and this comes off without a hitch! There's a beautiful arrangement for the flute that rounds out the musical arrangement very nicely. I love how Louis sings those lyrics for "Mood Indigo."

"My One And Only Love" again places Louis in the spotlight; and the lush musical arrangement works wonders for this ballad. Louis delivers this love song with panache and it's a very memorable tune. The CD also ends very nicely with Louis on "What A Wonderful World." This rendition of "What a Wonderful World" has a spoken introduction; and this ballad was easily a huge hit for Louis in the later years of his career. It's a very sweet, optimistic ballad; and it leaves you wanting more. Don't be surprised if you find yourself pushing the "play" button on your CD player to listen to this one all over again!

Louis Armstrong fans will appreciate this album without any doubt; and people who like classic jazz vocals and even classic pop vocals will love this CD, too.
The Bootleg Volume 6: Bob Dylan Live 1964 - Concert At Philharmonic Hall
The Bootleg Volume 6: Bob Dylan Live 1964 - Concert At Philharmonic Hall

Tropical Gift Set of 6 Premium Grade Fragrance Oils - Coconut Cream, Bay Rum, Pina Colada, Tahitian Vanilla, Ocean Breeze, Pineapple - 10Ml - Scented Oils
Husband and I had high hopes for this set of fragrances. The Coconut Cream, Pina Colada and Tahitian Vanilla from this set were really nice. We didn't like the Bay Rum at all. To us the Bay Rum smelled pretty bad. We expected the Ocean Breeze to have a light clean fragrance, but it was a bit of a let down. Not what we expected. Kinda smelly in a bad way. The pineapple isn't what you would expect either. When I think pineapple I think fresh cut. Doesn't smell anything like fresh cut pineapple. Hard to describe, but this one was not a favorite, although I usually love pineapple fragrances. It could have smelled like a pineapple lotion like you'd get on a beach, I would've been happy with that too. But it doesn't smell like that either. Kind of like old canned pineapple that's gone rotten is what it smells like. So from what you pay for, we only like three out of six. Not the greatest value for $17. This being the second collection of fragrances from this company I have bought, I think I like the Sweet collection a bit better. Bubble Gum, Orange Creamsicle, Peaches & Cream, Oatmeal Cookie Dough and Chocolate were all nice but we hated the Blue Cotton Candy and beg that NO ONE ever wears that fragrance in public, please! If you have to buy just one fragrance from each of these sets. I would say the Orange Creamsicle from the Sweet collection, easily. Smells just like orange ice cream. And the Pina Colada from the Tropical set. If you're buying two, go with just the Sweet set and get Peaches and Cream as well as Orange Creamsicle. All four of us love it, even my boys. There is a strawberry by PnJ Trading we all agree is a must-have. We all four love that one.

COOLA Organic Sunless Tan Express Body Mousse Self Tanner, Piña Colada, 7 Fl Oz
I don't use Sunless often, but get really pasty legs in the Winter. I like coola's firming lotion more because it feels thicker and like i get better coverage, but I tried the mousse this past Spring and really found it easy to use and gave me great color. Again, I was going from pasty to needing color, so it worked fantastic for me.

Little Trees Car Air Freshener | Hanging Tree Provides Long Lasting Scent for Auto or Home | Piña Colada, 6-Packs (4 Count)
What started as a positive, fulfilling relationship turned into a grown man living alone; what was a camping van soon turned into a commuter/domicile/nervous breakdown mobile. Living alone is pretty tough, especially when all you have are the smells of your own funk, the road, and yesterday's take-away to fill the void. I tried many things to cover the stench of my solitude, to include candles, spray products, cleaners, and those gel cups. What I guess I figured out is that no product will cover my own disappointment.

But then on a stop for a shower at a Midwest truck scale, I saw this scent of Little Trees. Reminds me of those happier days. Far before the divorce, and even further from the legal issues. It was the smell of childhood: freedom, innocence, genuine sugary happiness. The sheer excitement I would get running towards oddly-colored carbs. The genuine relationship with my father as I was held in loving embrace, even with the dusty shards of candy draping on his shoulders through the cacophony.

I can relive those moments with the large pack (24) of these Little Trees. Like most things in live they are temporal. But if temporary happiness at such a low cost brings back good memories, why not try it out. I can hang a few of these in my close quarters and at least remember a time when things were simpler. When tears and sadness were resolved so easily.
Captain America: Civil War [Blu-ray 3D] [2016]
Captain America: Civil War [Blu-ray 3D] [2016]
The original Civil War Marvel comic series was one of the most famous milestones in that comic lines history. It pitted virtually the whole pantheon of Marvel characters against one another...and some didn't make it.
This film is supposed to be the equivalent in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...it nearly is. The main difference being, not all of the characters are in the MCU. So with those limitations, it is a pretty fundamental milestone in the MCU timeline and sets up the upcoming Infinity War films well.
Without providing too many spoilers, essentially we have our favourite heroes (with a couple of exceptions, as they are otherwise occupied) having to chose what side to be on, when a superhero 'Control Act' is passed. Friends become enemies, with the flames stirred up by a bad guy in the background.
New characters appear (the excellent Black Panther and finally, Spiderman thanks to the Sony agreement with Disney) and are portrayed well by the respective actors.
Is this the best Avengers movie? Ironically it is actually a Captain America movie by name but is really an Avengers movie. But still the answer is no, but it is close.
All in all, this is up there with the best of the MCU films so far released. It is not a fun movie like the Guardian movies and Thor:Ragnorok but it is a important part of the overall story and a great action movie with the usual excellent characterisations from the cast.

I love the feel and the design of it. It is sturdy (not for swinging and tossing the shield around of course). The handles' material feels a bit cheap, but there is still a grip for the hands and arm. My only concern is the sight of tape on the four edges where the source of the straps begin. That's where you see the tape, and notice the plastic hooks holding the straps by a clip, each. But for what reason? If it was placed there so precisely I'm concerned to remove it and leave it at that. Nonetheless, it is perfect for display. I'd say that if you want it for display... BUY IT! If you want it for Cosplay... go for the more expensive one from Marvel (not the metal one that $300, but the other plastic one that keeps shuffling from $100-$200).

Husband loved them at first, but after about a month and a half, of wearing and washing them, the bottoms started to wear extra thin and get holes. Expected the material to be more durable and last longer. Wasted money.
Deadpool Classic, Vol. 3
Deadpool Classic, Vol. 3
Covering issues #9-17 of Joe Kelly's famous Deadpool run and a throwback to the classic Amazing Spider-Man #47 for referencing purposes, this third installment of the Classic series jumps right in on the action. Wade has a run-in with the oddball team "The Lightning Rods" but not before defeated the just-as-odd Deathtrap at his own game! Then, after a wonderfully-wrong teleporter malfunction, Deadpool and Blind Al are tossed into a 60s Spider-Man comic and, without completely $*@^ing up the timeline, Deadpool must pretend to be the nerdy Peter Parker and get back to the present with his Aunt May look-alike before anyone finds out! Then, back in present-day, he has a showdown with T-Ray that leaves him broken, physically and mentally and Typhoid Mary and the severe lack of Siryn make it all worse! Finally, Deadpool finds he's the chosen one and is taken to a secret lair within LL&L to fulfill his destiny!

These issues all make for some really good reading and Joe Kelly's writing shines here with some quirky crap that only Deadpool's pie-hole can spew. McGuinness and Denton start off the book with their art that we all know and love and Pete Woods continuing and the genius behind the Romita-clone Spider-Man issue! McDaniel also contributes in a more realistic tone that works well for the later issues. There's also the original Spider-Man issue thrown in to catch newer readers up on the issue 11 references. Issue 11 in particular was done very well as to copy the look Romita had to make it look like Deadpool really was in the 60s fighting Kraven! Overall, this was a nice collection of issues and the Spider-Man issue made it all that much better! Definitely one to get!
Doctor Strange/Punisher: Magic Bullets (Doctor Strange / The Punisher)
Doctor Strange/Punisher: Magic Bullets (Doctor Strange / The Punisher)
I couldn’t believe it when I heard there was going to be a Doctor Strange and Punisher team up. I can’t think of many other team ups that would be so amusing and confusing at the same time (ok, I probably could if I put some effort into it, but that’s not the point). Doctor Strange/Punisher: Magic Bullets is intense at times, crazy at times, and at other points downright silly. If you’re a fan of either, or ideally both, you’ll probably enjoy this quick four issue story.
I mentioned that this would be a good read for Doctor Strange or Punisher fans. I happen to be a fan of both, so you can imagine how much I squeed when I found out about this. I’ll admit right off the bat that the art style was better suited for Doctor Strange than for Punisher, but I can also see why finding a compromise may have been difficult.
There are a couple of things worth knowing, for those that don’t follow both characters. Doctor Strange no longer has access to an insane amount of magic. About a year ago (in real life, possibly less in comic life) an alien that hated magic came to earth and basically attacked everyone and everything with magic. We’re still seeing the effects of this, as made obvious by the fact that Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme (and thus literally the strongest magic user on the planet) pretty much has to rely on artifacts to get the job done. Now I personally loved seeing more of the fallout for this, as I really enjoyed that plotline. It was interesting seeing Doctor Strange try to find a way to help the Punisher while also doing it in a manner that the Punisher wouldn’t outright reject.
The other thing one must absolutely remember about the Punisher: he will not pull punches. Frankly (no pun intended) I don’t think he’s capable of it. He’ll allow innocents to live (as evidenced by the fact that he actually wanted to save the victimized monsters in this situation) but has zero tolerance for bad guys and their bull. Admittedly this is probably the least graphic comic I’ve seen about Frank Castle, so there’s that.
There were lots of little things I really liked about this comic. Like the Phantom Eagle references, those were pretty interesting (as was how they found it). The icing on the cake was Doctor Strange making Castle talk to the plane to repair itself. There were so many little events that really let the character’s personalities shine through; Doctor Strange stopping mid-fight to save a woman from bleeding out; Castle being constantly annoyed by Doctor Strange’s refusal to kill unless absolutely necessary (their idea of necessary clearly differs).
I’m so very tempted to keep listing all the parts that I loved, but I really shouldn’t give all the best parts away. Let’s just say that I left out a couple of the particularly funny points. There’s also a moment where the Punisher’s brutality shines through, right at the end. You’ll know it when you see it.
I’m actually a bit sad that this will probably be only one volume; though it’s better to end it early than force it to continue. I really enjoyed seeing the two characters interact, even though that was mostly bickering. Overall I really enjoyed the team up!
The One for the Mojave Kid - Lonigan - War Party (Dramatized)
The One for the Mojave Kid - Lonigan - War Party (Dramatized)
There are three discs. One for each short story. Each disc, short story, takes about an hour to play.

One for the Mojave kid is about a young man arriving in a small town and making the place his home. It's a five star story.

Lonigan is a short story about a silly dimwitted woman. Lonigan shows up in the last five minutes. I didn't like the female character so I give this story one star.

War Party was okay so I give it three stars.

The average for the three stories is three stars, which is what I give this three hour collection of shorts.

Carina Gardner's Simply Modern Patchwork Quilts: 12 Posy Garden Quilts and Sewing Projects for the Beginning Quilter
I love, love Carina's new fabric line and have seen many of her projects floating around IG and on blog posts... so I was pretty excited to be able to get a book with the patterns, for when I am ready to dive in.Unfortunately I am disappointed and sure glad I did not spend more. There are not enough photos of the completed projects, and the instructions are not as clear as I am used to. I am an advanced sewist; I'll be able to figure it out when the time comes but I'd say this is not for a beginner or someone that prefers a lot of description/details.
Always With Love
Always With Love
So far I only read the fist story and it seems a bit cheesy to me. Jessica seems like an inmature girl and Brodie seems like an overbearing tyrant that comes across as more future abuser than sexy take charge. The book is ok if you just want some mindless reading and not have to think too much.
Roald Dahl's Little Library
Roald Dahl's Little Library
love the author but book is too small to be labled a board book- too small for children to hold and too small for adult to use as a read aloud. The illustrations are cute but again too small- produce larger format as most typical board books. This is 3.5 by 4 inches- very tiny.
Be warned before ordering.
Zane Grey Combo #3: The Rustlers of Pecos County/The Last of the Plainsmen/To the Last Man (Zane Grey Omnibus) (Volume 3)
Zane Grey Combo #3: The Rustlers of Pecos County/The Last of the Plainsmen/To the Last Man (Zane Grey Omnibus) (Volume 3)
The Rustlers of Pecos County: Written earlier in his career, and in first person, this story about the Texas Rangers is typical "western" material. Having said that, I by no means mean this is inferior stuff, but you can see, if you are a devotee of Zane Grey that this book was a model for many of the more famous works that came later, making him famous. Many of his books are interconnected with scenes and prologues that are in other stories--provided you have read them all, and have a good memory. The one thing Zane Grey did not do well, in my opinion, is tell a fiction story well in 1st person. His fishing books, and camp and trail books are superbly told this way, but his fiction lacks something when he uses this literary device. This is still a good enough book to buy and read, so if you don't have it, get it, and enjoy. The Last of the Plainsmen: When Zane Grey met Buffalo Jones in New York City in 1908 Zane Grey instinctively knew he had met someone special. And the two men remained friends until Jones' death many years later. This book recounts only a small portion of the plainsman's life, but what is provided relates to us the life of an adventurer, an empire builder, and a conservationalist. Included are stories of the man's trying to rope lions in the Grand Canyon and to his attempt to preserve the last of the buffalo from extinction, after once having slaughtered them to provide meat for the railroad workers. When this book was first published it did not receive very good reviews, but has since been praised for Zane Grey's prose and narrative skills. Furthermore, the people Zane Grey met on this trip with Jones led directly to his creation of such great novels as Heritage of the Desert and Riders of the Purple Sage and set the stage for his entire career. Without this trip and the writing of this book there might not have been a Zane Grey as we know him today. It all began here. To the Last Man: The Graham-Tewskbury feud on which this story is based is as legendary out West as the Hatfield-McCoy feud is back East. Zane Grey, of course, adds his own twist to the facts, but over-all this is probably the most accurate accounting there will ever be, as Zane Grey was able to talk to old-timers who were still living and had gone through the feud. The one scene with the hogs is the one most readers will never forget, and is based on fact. The "Romeo and Juliet" part is consistent with other romances written by Grey, and has to be in the story line to make it historical romance, which is what he considered himself to be writing---not westerns! In fact, the word, or term, "western" was not even coined until around 1930. By then Zane Grey had been writing this kind of stories for 20 years. We do an injustice to him when we say, "oh, the writer of westerns" when his name is mentioned.
J.R.R. Tolkien: The Making of a Legend
J.R.R. Tolkien: The Making of a Legend

Am Anfang ist zu Tolkien zu lesen: „This is the story of an intensely private, brilliant, and eccentric professor in a specialist university discipline whose imagination was in touch with our basic hunger for stories that, like all stories that have stood out and survived over the ages, nourish the spirit.”

Über sein berühmtes Werk “Herr der Ringe” wird angefügt: “ Behind the depths and richness of The Lord of the Rings is over fifty years of creation accompanying the languages, history, peoples, and geography of Middle-earth, with a consistent mythology and body of legends inspired by a formidable knowledge of early northwest European history and culture.”

She thought of my languages as a useless frivolity taking up time that could be better spent in studying.” (386)
• Was Untätigkeit für den Studenten Tolkien hiess: “’(I)dleness’ in his case meant private and unaided studies in Gothic, Anglo-Saxon and Welsh.” (490)
• Über sein geistliches Befinden zu Studentenzeiten: “Deep down, he had insecurities about faith. The previous year he had lapsed in his Christian disciplines. He was increasingly feeling that many of his friends … were losing moral commitment and steadfastness in favour of shallow frivolity.” (878)
• Über seine T. C. B. S. Treffen (mit drei Freunden aus der Highschool-Zeit): “Whenever they met together they felt ‘four times the intellectual size’ … It was then that he decided he was a poet. He regarded the weekend ‘as a turning point in his creative life’.” (1061ff)
• Die durch Jugend und Kriegserfahrung erodierte Widerstandsfähigkeit: “The loss of his parents, and other setbacks of his childhood and youth, had perhaps eroded the natural resilience of his nature, making him particularly vulnerable to the horrors he experienced at the Somme, including the loss of two of his closest friends.” (1339)
I do not remember a single word he said but at a certain point he recited, and magnificently, a long passage of Beowulf.” (1760)
• Ferien in der Familie als Stabilisator: “Family outings, and summer seaside holidays, were important, it seems, to Tolkien’s stability.” 2176
• Tolkien war Privatmann: “Tolkien was an intensely private man, though selectively clubbable. He deeply valued and needed friendship.” 2205
• Freundschaft zu Lewis: “For complex reasons, the friendship between Tolkien and C.S. Lewis cooled somewhat, starting in the war years, though this chilling has sometimes been exaggerated.” (2603)
• Altersjahre: “Tolkien was not the kind of person to receive confidence and energy from celebrity.” (2841)

Werkhinweise

• Tolkien und die Hobbits: “Like Hobbits he relished gardens, trees, and farmlands that were not mechanized. He too smoked a pipe and liked his food plain. … In the drab mid twentieth century when the popularity of his stories exploded, he dared to wear ornamental waistcoats. He was fond of mushrooms fresh from the field and liked expressing his very basic sense of humour, which some found tiresome. He also recorded that as an adult, he went to bed late and, if he could, got up late. Like Hobbits, he travelled little.” (191; Kindle-Positionen)
• Sein Gefühl für spezielle Orte: “He had an acute sense of place that matched his sensitivity to languages. Throughout his life, his experiences – often quite ordinary – constantly were to feed into his imagination, and thence into his fiction. He had the remarkable gift of being able to capture the quality of a landscape or even of a particular language in a way that his readers could experience.” (683)
• Wie seine Kriegserfahrung (1. Weltkrieg) sein Schreiben beeinflusste: “Death was not a reality that he could escape from; it would be a theme that haunted his fiction.” (918)
• Der Platz der Mythologie: “the history and mythology serves as background, but with alluring references, creating perspective and depths.” (1429)
• Tolkiens Arbeit für ein Lexikon schärfte seinen Sinn für die Bedeutung von Worten: “(T)he contemplation of an individual word can be the starting point for an adventure in imagination…” (1512)
• Ein Gefühl für die Schönheit des alten Englisch: “Tolkien had a remarkable ear for the vocal beauty of the Old English and Middle English originals, a beauty that he could transpose into modern English.” (1637)
• Über den Zusammenhang von Literatur- und Sprachwissenschaft: “One of the brilliant but cryptic insights he expressed was: ‘To ask what is the origins of stories… is to ask what is the origin of language and of the mind.’” (2278)
• Tolkiens Anliegen zur Rehabilitierung von Märchen: “The goal of the lecture was to rehabilitate for adults the idea of the fairy story, which had been relegated to children’s literature, and also to rehabilitate fantasy in general.” (2320)
• Parallelen zum Krieg: ”Tolkien saw the Second World War, like the battle of the Ring, as a war of the machine.” (2520)
• Alles gegeben: “He had given of himself in writing The Lord of the Rings. ‘It is,’ he said, ‘written in my life-blood, such as that is, thick or thin; and I can no other.’” (2662)

Fazit

„Inside it, what he relates is ‘true’: it accords with the laws of that world.”

My grandson gave me this book because he was certain I would "love it." And I did. I loved the character, Squirrel. The author captured the fear and the hunger and the loneliness of a feral dog. I would have preferred fewer adverbs and all the 'could see, could hear, could smell' comments, but will still strongly recommend this book for children. Wonderful descriptions. Was pulled into the story immediately and was pleased by the ending.

Yeah, I seriously bought this set and a couple weeks later bought it a second time and only realized it when the intended recipient of the item mentioned how much they were loving the set. Whoops!
Amazon returns at a local Whole Foods was incredibly fast, I was thrilled to see the associate scan the item hand me a slip as evidence that I'd returned the item and then pack the box enjoy much larger box to be returned to Amazon in one large drop shipment, cutting down on unnecessary packaging and hopefully environmental impact.
About the set, it's great, the dragon is the selling point for us and it doesn't so if you're considering it is definitely say it's a worthwhile buy... Just maybe make sure you didn't already purchase it first.

Rubie's Costume Co - Harry Potter Hermione's Wand
Plastic wand, exactly what I was expecting to get.

I read the reviews and honestly couldn't believe some of them that I was reading! So much negativity.

I couldn't justify spending over $15 on a wand my 10 year old was going to use once and then forget about. I wanted something cheap for a night of Trick-or-treating. Something that I didnt care if she didnt take care of it.
This wand was perfect! Under $10 and she was very happy with it. It also is now sitting forgotten in a bag and she hasnt thought about it since Halloween as I expected she would do.
It came on time, and not as big or grotesque as other reviews make it sound.

Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince Top Trumps Card Game
I had previously ordered the trivia version of the Top Trumps Harry Potter and it was fun (though the questions are exact duplicates of the Trivial Pursuit Harry Potter) I thought that this would be the same, with the questions being related to just this movie. Instead, it's like a version of the card game War, but with completely subjective ratings of the different characters traits (magic level, courage and cunning) and other useless information (wand length, etc) It is in no way an educational or trivia game and the criteria for winning/losing is is the creator's opinion of how brave (magical, etc) each character is - it's not based on information from the books or movies .

Harry Potter 2018 Wall Calendar
Our daughter moved and suddenly found herself without a calendar for the last half of the year. She could not find one locally, so she was really happy when I ordered this one for her. She is a through and through Harry Potter fan. The pages are good quality and the pictures are great. She loves it.

Funko Rock Candy Lord of The Rings Eowyn Action Figure

USB Microphone with Studio Headphone Set 192KHz/24Bit Zero Latency Monitoring MAONO AU-PM401H Computer Condenser Cardioid Mic with Mute Button for Podcasting, Gaming, YouTube, Streaming
I really like this configuration of the package as it has everything that I need.

Microphone stand/arm, shock mount, mic guard, foam, and even a monitoring headset!
As the microphone has the direct monitoring output, hearing and monitoring your voice is really useful.
You can hear the raw sound that has not been processed by your computer. Judging the sound, volume, and the noise level is much easier this way.
I can quickly check, and take it off from the mic to start my recording.

Upon sound checking, the headset doesn't have much of characteristic in the sound. Which is a good thing for monitoring sound. The foam is a bit hard and stiff, keeps other noises out. The cup is on the small side, and barely clears my ears. I think people with larger ears may have problem as a over-the-ear headset.

Not particularly an issue, as this is such a great deal for its price.

The arm and shock mount setup allows the mic to be pushed aside when not being used, and pulled whenever I am starting to record. The actual mic quality is something you can expect from this price point.
The mic is very sensitive. Picks up all sounds around. The manual mute button can be used to stop the input.
I think this would be useful when you are on a conference call or voice chat, but it makes a loud click noise when it is pressed.

Overall, a great set for you to start of recording and even monitor your sound.
Power Rangers Lightning Collection Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger 6-Inch Premium Collectible Action Figure Toy with Accessories
Power Rangers Lightning Collection Mighty Morphin Blue Ranger 6-Inch Premium Collectible Action Figure Toy with Accessories
Hasbro has been killing it with these Lightning Collection releases. They've been in the game a long time, and bring all their modern stylings to the forefront, here. Minor paint slop, and the occasional backwards foot aside (these are mass-market toys, after all) Blue Ranger Billy Cranston is represented here better than he ever has been. The look is just right, almost perfect, and absolutely iconic, anyway. The sculpt is mostly a reuse of the other male Rangers, which is just fine, and has all the modern articulation that you'd expect including the ever-important butterfly shoulders for martial artists. The accessories are a solid selection featuring extra hands, effects pieces and weapons in multiple configurations. The packaging is a super clean window box design with the requisite Ranger drawn on the side and a nice flat sided rectangle perfect for storage if one wanted. I'm trying to be brief, I'm promise , but in the interest of fairness and really just being picky, I can say that it would be nice if the blade blaster also came in a folded up configuration, the silver break between the top of the helmet and the visor is a little too prominent, and, really, the soles of all of their boots could be black but these are knit picks for sure, and I am consistently floored by each new release. (Will you look at that head sculpt with the glasses?! Just ZLOOK at it. My goodness.) To sum it up, this is the best representation of Billy yet, and on the whole, I think the Rangers are in good hands with Hasbro. Buy this if it's your bag. You won't be disappointed at the MSRP of 20 buck, or even a SLIGHT markup.

Multi USB 8-Port Smart Fast Desktop Hub Wall Charger Charging Station Quick Charge 3.0 USB Type C Port With LED Display Compatible with Apple Samsung Android Smart Phone, Tablet, Nintendo Switch Games
A bit of documentation re: what the display is telling us would have been nice, however the device's operation is pretty straightforward.

As stated in the headline I have been running it 24/7 since received on 3/2/2020. Generally at not more than 50% of rated capacity¹; it runs quite cool--a cool temperature, not "wicked awesome cool" (though it's not far from that either).

I have it stuck to the wall of my office (see photo )with that gray 3M double-sided tape (this stuff, https://www.amazon.com/3M-VHB-5952-Automotive-Industrial/dp/B00MAQBPEM, best there is).

I like it, highly recommended...

¹ -- as rule of thumb, for best performance and service life, electrical devices should not be run continuously at more than 80% of rated capacity.

So I bought these for my son who was deployed. Its important for him to change put his tooth brush often (good hygiene and all that good stuff). Also they move from place to place and then back when training so buying in bulk came in handy and is cost effective when constantly replacing ! At first my son said there were to many and what was he to do with them, then started to give them to his buddies that needed one. The next thing you know I had to order two more times. Good thing it was super fast shipping. Well worth the money and i recommend them to my other Blue Star moms !! More bang for our buck!!
Brochetas triple sabor de Good'n'Fun
Brochetas triple sabor de Good'n'Fun
2 stars because my dog likes the "kabob" part. All the other stars go away for deceptive marketing and being a danger to pets.
Good luck finding it on the package (it's stamped on with the expiration date) but these treats are made in China. I didn't even know because the company address printed on the package is in VA.
My spunky mini Dachshund hasn't been feeling well for about a week and I couldn't figure it out. We ran out of these treats two days ago and all of a sudden she's fine again. I pulled the package out of the trash and saw the China label.
While I think this company has good intentions, China uses Biodiesel compounds to make their glycerin, and those sources have been shown to be very toxic to humans and animals, even in small quantities. The contents alone should prevent the words "healthy, wholesome, etc" from being used on the package. But profits outweigh ethics.
Every dog is different and will be affected differently. I will not be purchasing these, or any treats containing this glycerin (diesel) again.
Water For Elephants
Water For Elephants
The book is better than the movie. The book has well developed characters. It's also has a rich, well developed, story line.. You feel the atmosphere and the grittiness of circus life. You get to know and feel about the characters in the story; beyond the main characters. . In the book, Marlena wasn't portrayed as some flirtatious vamp. Jacob was an innocent, but strong young man thrown into the circus by life circumstances, and you really get to know August as the truly sadistic person he was. Uncle Al, the owner of the circus was cut out all together.

Yes, you get to see some of the sadistic traits of August, but in watching the movie, you can kind of feel for the guy, too. It's not like he imagined his wife and Jacob's attraction. Marlena and Jacob were very obviously attracted to each other, and they were obvious about it. Marlena was flirtatious with Jacob. Their sexual attraction was there almost from the beginning. What man would be happy about his wife's flirtation with his employee and his employee's mutual attraction towards her? Sadistic though he was, I still could understand his anger at the situation. The situation actually gave some credibility to his anger...extreme though it was. His inability to express his feelings led to a lot of cat and mouse games between the characters. I didn't enjoy that. It lent an unnecessary darkness to this movie. The book was gritty and real, but not dark.

The movie wants to convince us that August is a sick, sub human being, and that's a lot of the focus of this movie, but it's wasn't firmly convincing, because of the way they chose to portray his wife's character and focus on her relationship with Jacob.

In the book, there was much more to Jacob's character than his interactions with August and Marlena. Marlena wasn't sending out mixed messages. Marlena wasn't a mixed up victim that needed to be saved by Jacob. She chose her life with August, had enough, and she just made a different choice for herself with Jacob, and you get it was her choice. In the book, Marlena was a stabilizer for August, until she had enough. Jacob was attracted to her from the start. Marlena was not. She came to know Jacob and then she came to love him. August was a sicko and there was no doubt about it. He was crazy way before Jacob came on the scene. You get this clearly. There is no conflict in the reader's emotions. His craziness was not jealously driven or really even directed towards Marlena, until he feared losing her. She was his savior, until she chose not to be. When August gets his due. You want to clap. In the book, you come to know and love Camel, Walter, Rosie, and you really get to know Jacob. You get a feel for the solidarity of the roustabouts and sub performers in the extremely hard working conditions, and the toughness of the people of that time period. You get a real feel of the class distinctions within circus life.

All that said, the movie is well acted. The average review is for the script, not the acting. This is not a true representation of the book at all. Water for Elephants is so much more than some damsel in distress love story, and her dark, creepy circus guy husband. If you like to read, get the book. You'll be drawn in and enjoy it. The books is so much richer.

WATACHE for iPhone 12 Pro Max Screen Protector,[3 Pack][HD Clear][Bubble-Free][Anti-Scratch][Case Friendly] Tempered Glass Film with Alignment Case Frame for iPhone 12 Pro Max,Clear
This is the first time using a screen protector on one of my phones. I was looking for a tempered glass protector, without the notch cut out, and with the black outline. The instructions are hard to understand but the protector goes on perfectly. It comes with screen cleaners and an applicator guide. Once installed, it leaves room on the screen for a case, so its not covered completely.

I’m taking a couple stars off because the first protector broke on the first day after a small 1-2ft drop, and the second cracked somehow within a few weeks. The oleophobic coating also doesn’t last more than a month.
The Queen's Gambit: A Novel
The Queen's Gambit: A Novel
So, yes this is a book about chess. There is lots and lots of chess speak in it, lots of games and tournaments ,described in great detail from moves to strategies, lots of characters discussing chess when practicing. Its chess centric. Its also a bloody great read.

Set in the 50s/60s, its the story of Beth Harmon, orphaned at 8 years of age and sent to Mount Sterling Orphanage in Kentucky. The lucky ones eventually get adopted and shortly after arriving Beth hopes it happens to her soon. She doesnt like the orphanage or the staff. She feels alone. The orphanage has a policy of tranquilizing the kids twice a day and its not long before Beth becomes addicted, a trait that will follow here throughout the book as she battles later also with alcohol addiction.

When Beth one day is sent to the basement on an errand, she sees the janitor playing chess and she is immediately fascinated. As she watches she quickly begins to understand the workings of the game. When her visit becomes a regular thing she eventually persuades the janitor to teach and let her play chess and he soon realizes that she is a natural and that they have a potential genius on their hands.
Beth is eventually adopted but despite this, still feels completely alone and chess is her only escape, the one thing that she is really good at. Despite not having a chess board in her new home she plays games in her head. She has a natural gift to envisage a game and go through all the permutations of it.
Eventually Beth does get a board, scrapes the money together to start entering local tournaments and soon wipes all before her, becoming first state champion and then American champion.
The ultimate test is in Russia though, where all the best players are, that is her ultimate goal. Travel to Moscow and play the best to become world champion. Easier said than done, especially when her early addiction has stayed with her and she uses tranquilizers regularly to sleep and relieve stress.

This is for sure something different and may sound like you need an interest in chess to enjoy this but you really dont. I played chess in my youth but havent played in years and only played at a very basic level but I enjoyed this one immensely. Beth is the star of the show here, with chess as her vehicle. She nots a particularly likeable character. She is quite aloof, few friends and socially awkward, she comes across as extremely selfish at times but despite this you will be rooting for her throughout. Im still undecided whether her character traits are borne from nurture or nature. Either way she is a fascinating character.

This one did suck me in and I was lost in it all the way through. Some may find it to chess heavy for their tastes but I loved it. Highly recommended.
Big and Tall Office Chair 400lbs Cheap Desk Chair Mesh Computer Chair with Lumbar Support Wide Seat Adjust Arms Rolling Swivel High Back Task Executive Ergonomic Chair for Women Men,Black
Big and Tall Office Chair 400lbs Cheap Desk Chair Mesh Computer Chair with Lumbar Support Wide Seat Adjust Arms Rolling Swivel High Back Task Executive Ergonomic Chair for Women Men,Black
Version française en bas.

I have been looking for a cheap chair that was 400lb or more forever. My previous chair couldn't handle my weight anymore and the hydrolic system holding the chair up would just go straight to the floor either in seconds or instantly and I was fighting with it every second minutes. And then, I stumbled upon this one for sale for 188$CAD (excl. taxes) from a seller in Ontario.

The box it came in was half-opened - probably the reason why it was so cheap but i got no complains - but the content was brand new. My chair came with all the tools neessary but no instructions. So, I stumbled my way into assembling it alone. So, if you buy this and get no instructions like I did, start from the top and go toward the buttom. Please don't try to join the bottom and the top like I did, it's a pain in the butt alone. In other words, drop the hydrolic system, with the seat assembled over it, directly into the base for minimal effort.

Comfort-wise, I don't have anything to say. Yet. Because it has been only 2 days since I got it at the moment of writing this review. Hopefully the 400lb rating support is not a fluke and will hold my 350lb ass for years to come. And, at first look, it's very sturdy. It's comfortable, it goes high enough for me, the lambar support is great out of the box.

So, if you happen to be able to grab a deal on this chair, don't hesitate. But for 600$CAD? I don't know. There might be better quality chairs for 600$ especially if you are into leather (I am not).

P.S I don't know the MSRP for this chair. I left this review and this chair was now (minimum) 571$CAD+tax+shipping.

---------------
