Explosive Growth: A Few Things I Learned While Growing to 100 Million Users and Losing $78 Million: Ultimate Startup Playbook in Entrepreneurship, Business Strategy, Online Marketing, Leadership & PR
Do you like extremely specific sports analogies applied to business practices? What about the ego of a hedge fund manager for 300 pages? How about a book written by a guy who started a software company with no software background and not the slightest idea how to do it?

Well then, this is your book! Filled with tasty morsels of insights and ideas (like having a company massage day ... really page 206, right before the awe-inspiring unique suggestion of something called a "company newsletter" - groundbreaking stuff here!)

The author also namedrops a bunch of recommended books, all by authors who happened to be living, giving public speeches, and promoting themselves ... I'm sure he wasn't expecting any kickback in the process ... no, not from a wall street hedge fund manager, that's not something he'd do. But don't expect any unique titles to hit this list. It's the usual suspects, Eric Ries, Peter Theil ... it'd be like going to a sci-fi conference and recommending Isaac Asimov to everyone ... gee thanks ...

The one nice thing about this book (which is why it's a two star review!) is that since the text is so vapid of insight and depth, you can quite literally read it like some top graduate from Evelyn Wood's speed reading course. Don't worry, you're missing anything by going too fast, he'll repeat it again in 5 pages.

But really, don't worry about it ... it's like 12 bucks ... won't be the worst 12 bucks you ever spent. Besides, he's not a bad author, the text actually is quite readable and there isn't much New Yorker style needlessly long stories without getting to the point.

Not the worst the book I've read this year (and I'm writing this in February) but certainly not 5-star awesome, would read again!!!
Steve Jobs. La biografía
Steve Jobs.

English:

If you ever used an Apple product, I’m sure you've been charmed with its easy use, simple design and premium materials. Steve Jobs was an inveterate perfectionist, he was capable of starting a project from scratch, just because some detail wasn't as he intended to. He felt the need to have absolute control of his products, from design to manufacturing, this to make sure the user gets the best experience when using them.

Walter Isaacson made a great job, but i think in some aspects he could of have done better. Just to mention some of them, he barely talked about his wife's life and about the decease. But in general it's a great reading, I recommend it, even if you're not interested in Apple products, because in some way it's about personal growth. After being fired from the company he created, he didn't give up, he continued trying to leave a mark on this world, creating a new company (Next) and making new products, and then working with Pixar, taking the animation industry to another level.

In general, I don't rate it with 5 stars because of the Spanish version, this translation is horrible. First, because it was translated to the Spanish talked in Spain, like it was specifically translated for them, using words hard to understand, even after consulting with the dictionary. I have always said products should be consumed in the original language, in this case I regret for not buying the English version.

In short, I do recommend the book and even though you might feel overwhelmed for its volume (700 pages in the Spanish version), this is a must-read for everyone who feels attraction for Apple products and Steve Jobs.
Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different: A Biography
Steve Jobs: The Man Who Thought Different: A Biography
I liked this unauthorised biography of Steve Jobs. I liked the unauthorised biography of Susan Boyle by Alice Montgomery too. I also read Susan Boyle's autobiography, which I enjoyed as well. Somehow these two unauthorised biographies held more allure for me. The Steve Jobs book was an interesting read. I thought at the beginning the author was anti Steve Jobs, but that impression went away as I progressed through the book. I have a lot of sympathy for the late Jobs, and understand that to lead is often not easy. He could see what was required and went for it. I admire the man. You can't please all the people all of the time? Many who worked for him recognised the need for this sometimes aggressive approach, but wouldn't have had it any other way in retrospect. The cover picture was an attractive feature, enticing me to buy. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Steve Jobs, or if you're just curious. In my opinion it's worth the read.
The Contrarian's Guide to Leadership
The Contrarian's Guide to Leadership
I first heard about this book in Bill Hybels "Courageous Leadership." Hybels requires all of his leaders in his church to first read this book. Surprisingly this book is not based on Christian leadership. The main idea behind the book is that Sample takes ideas that are commonly thought of as a leaders best practices and show why leaders should do just the opposite. (Contrarian definition: a person who opposes or rejects popular opinion) I had no idea what a contrarian was before reading this book, but learned alot of valuable ideals.

This book really challenged me to think outside the box. As the title says, the topics covered in this book usually go against what everyone holds as a leaders best practices. In each chapter I had to think about what was being covered and why it made sense to go against the popular belief besides what Sample was simply writing about. I did not want to just take him at his word, but challenged myself to see why his points either made sense, or did not at all. I highly recommend this book to stretch your mind in leadership practices. Very early on in the book Sample challenges the reader to make a hypothetical decision that no-one ever would want to have to make, but it sets the tone for the book for getting the reader out of their current mold and challenging why they think that way.

This book also has alot of practical applications and is not just all theory and thought. I tend to learn through example and find it easier to connect with a book that has practical implications rather than be just about theory. This book has a good mix and Sample makes sure to have practicality in all of his chapters and topics.

Some of my favorite quotes from the book:
"... the leader's role is to be sufficiently broad so as to be able to integrate the advice of several experts into a coherent course of action."
- Showed me that a leader does not have to be the know-all in all particular fields that they observe, that is what the experts are for. The leader just needs to have experts in specific areas that they trust and have the ability to gather all the information and formulate an appropriate plan.

"..., an effective leader must sell himself first and his vision or policies second."
- A leader must have followers, if not they are not a leader. If a leader does not first sell themselves and show others why they should follow, then the leader has no chance of getting people on board to follow their vision. So when being a leader you need to make sure those you lead trust you as a person before they trust your vision.

"If you leave a white post alone it will soon be a black post. If you particularly want it to be white you must be always painting it again." (Quote from G.K. Chesterton)
- A simple thought but can be applied to alot of places in life. As with leadership and inspiring others to a vision, eventually excitement will wane. Thus everything will take continued work. You are either improving or degrading, no staying the same.

Brown Girl, Brownstones
Brown Girl, Brownstones
Despite the fact that I had read almost every book in my high school library ...read secondary grammar school in the UK, by the time I left, I did not find this book until I was an undergraduate at 19 at Bristol U.
As a child of a bajan mother and a biafran father it spoke to many of my questions about identity as a Bajarian born in Britain, ntyen raised in Lagos,Enugu Umahia and Shepherd's Bush ! As the eldest of four siblings , I understood the fierce pride and love with which my mother carried us solo into our lives ,following our separation from our father during and after the Biafran war.
I love Paule Marshall's rich layered complex writing and the many places in which both Silla, the mother character and Selena, the young protaganists stories echo my own. The discovery of racism and its impact on Selena is one of the most poignant I have ever read. I now llive and work in and around present day Fulton St and Brooklyn so that too makes me love the book.

I am sharing this novel with my husband and my teenage daughter that they may better understand the kind of forces that shaped me.
Best of Jimi Hendrix
Best of Jimi Hendrix
Hendrix and thermodynamics: There's a principle of thermodynamics, goes something like, in a closed system, when you add heat to the system, you merely raise the level of the existing microstates. If you add work to the system, you increase the number of available microstates. When Jimi Hendrix played his Stratocaster, which was and is notorious for going out of tune, he never actually played out of tune, in other words, added work to the system. In one of the later recordings, he breaks a string and continues to play in tune. However, at the Monterey Pop Festival, when he smashed the guitar into pieces and lit it on fire, was he adding heat? I know it may be a bit abstruse, but that's a little physics joke. . .
Real Bob Dylan
Real Bob Dylan
This covers Dylan's music from his first album (released in 1962) to the late nineteen eighties. There are tracks from all the studio albums and it is roughly chronological.

It is a good representation of Dylan's career up to the album Oh Mercy although he has produced much great work since. There are some obvious omissions such as Blowin' in the Wind and Subteranean Homesick Blues but Dylan has produced so many great songs no Dylan fan will be happy with any compilation and those new Dylan's music can rest assured there are many more great songs to discover.

My main criticism is that there are no sleeve notes and the re is nothing to tell you which album the songs come from so it is a bit confusing. But for those wanting to discover Bob Dylan this is a good choice.
Data Structures and Abstractions with Java (5th Edition) (What's New in Computer Science)
Data Structures and Abstractions with Java (5th Edition) (What's New in Computer Science)
I'm about half way through this textbook and it's further than I've gotten in any of the other oft recommended data structures textbooks. Which, in my opinion, is a great endorsement of this textbook's style and content.

This book bridges the gap nicely from a second semester Java course into the higher level data structures and algorithms classes. You need to have a firm grasp of Java OOP principles, (things like inheritance, generics, and interfaces) but you don't need to be a master of these topics.

This book also includes a gentle introduction to big-O analysis and sets the stage for thoughtful data structure design and usage with care for security and what seems like robust programming practices. Where other books may include sloppy and/or dangerous style, this author's coding style is one that I'm happy to emulate at least for the remainder of the book.

I will say that this book is not a comprehensive algorithm textbook but as far as nailing down the theory and design of abstract data types and data structures, I feel invigorated by the examples and practice problems in this book. I'm glad my class requires this text and I look forward to furthering my study with the other more revered Algorithms books once I've become a little more mature in my baseline understanding, which this book seems to be solidifying nicely.

Brown Sugar Lip Scrub by Tree Hut Sugarlips Lip Care | 0.34oz Jar | Organic Shea Butter and Raw Sugar Scrub Ultra-Hydrating Lip Exfoliator
I really wanted to like this product. I really did but after three uses, it just sits on my dresser collecting dust. On my first try, the product came out SUPER oily and goopy and was unappealing to apply to my lips. The sugar was too coarse and not as fine as I would like it to be for a sugar lip scrub. The scent is amazing and of course, it tastes good but that's not what I purchased it for. I purchased it to scrub away dry skin from my lips and it didn't do that. The sugar is too coarse and large to be effective and the actual product way too oily to be of any good. I tried it again another day, maybe thinking that I did it wrong? How in the world can I use lip scrub wrong but maybe I did but trust me, it isn't user error. It is product failure. Save your money and get a better product that isn't as oily, greasy and super coarse.
AIMS 300 Watt, 600 Watt Peak, Pure Sine DC to AC Power Inverter, USB Port, Cables Included - Non UL Listed
AIMS 300 Watt, 600 Watt Peak, Pure Sine DC to AC Power Inverter, USB Port, Cables Included - Non UL Listed
Really great small pure sine wave inverter. I am using it almost everyday on the back patio in a DIY-made ammo box solar generator (see attached picture). I bought this in April, 2017 and it gets used quite a bit to power a small HDTV, speaker, coax amp, etc. I checked the "pure sine wave" with my oscilloscope and it appears on freq with some minor dwells in the waveform. Pk-pk was about 320v (340v is ideal). Not a big deal. From what I measured...looked alright, but not as good as my Outback Power PSW 3,500w inverter or Go Power 1,500w PSW inverter or utility power. Did the "fan" test. With modified sine wave inverters...my shop fan "groans" and sounds pissed-off. I plugged the 100w AC fan into this AIMS...sounds good.

DISKLIKES: 1) Mounting? No screw eyelets or way to mount. I had to use Velcro in my ammo can and stick this inverter to the side. It works, but not ideal. 2) banana plugs for DC power input. Why not regular screw posts eyelets like on other products? I had to buy 90-deg banana plugs to make this work.

OVERALL: Does the job well but needs an update...needs a mounting solution and the banana plug inputs are just a plain stupid idea. They'll work but stick out too far and have the propensity to break off if not careful

UPDATE: March 18, 2018 - Still working great! Solid little inverter.

UPDATE: June 5, 2018 - Still working 24/7 in my ammo box solar generator. This is the 180w PSW inverter model with the banana clip 12v inputs. Did some measuring...gonna order the 300w version to see if I can fit it in an ammo box. If not, no big deal...will stow it in my truck.
BLU Advance S5 HD – Unlocked Single Sim Smartphone, 16GB+1GB RAM -Black
BLU Advance S5 HD – Unlocked Single Sim Smartphone, 16GB+1GB RAM -Black
I got this for my girlfriend who's been using an iPhone 5S in part out of simplicity (smaller size/familiarity) and in part out of frugality (a new high end phone costs $$$).

We just transferred her SIM card over today. The battery was decently charged when we powered on the phone. The phone started up quickly and moved very well. I was apprehensive about the Android Go Edition, but it feels just like any other Android build. The screen is vibrant and the sound is decent. Downloading apps is very straightforward as with other Android devices. I ran into an issue where the Play Store got hung up, so I killed it through the Phone Settings > Apps > Google Play Store > Storage > Clear Data. Once I started the app again, it ran just fine. One unfortunate thing: I found out that the Wi-Fi card unfortunately isn't dual band (doesn't support 5 GHz Wi-Fi band).

The layout of the phone is a little strange, but it doesn't render the phone unusable. Both micro USB and AUX port are on the top of the phone. Volume and lock buttons are both to the right of the screen. Popping off the back cover involves sliding a fingernail or card through the slit near the front side of the phone (which is never mentioned in the instructions).

I hope it lasts my girlfriend at least a year. It sure looks like it can.
Jordan Spizike Men's Shoes
Jordan Spizike Men's Shoes
The workmanship on the shoe is poorly made, it had extra strings and material hanging out. The Plastic shoe pieces were discolored, faded and scratched. I was extremely disappointed with the overall look of the shoe. The colors were very dull and faded as well.
JBL CS762 6-1/2" 135W Coaxial Car Audio Loudspeaker Set of 2
JBL CS762 6-1/2" 135W Coaxial Car Audio Loudspeaker Set of 2
At this price range I did not expect amazing quality and sound but these really left me disappointed.
I used to be in the car audio 12v installation business from about 2002 to 2010. I have always been a big fan of JBL so when I needed an inexpensive set of 6.5" speakers for a project I didn't think twice about ordering these.
Sound quality is a 3 out of 10. The highs are tinny and mids are almost non existent. I wont say anything about lows as I don't expect big lows from 6.5"s in an enclosed enclosure. I tried these with both a high end Pioneer/Carrozzeria head unit and from an ARC Audio amp and was not impressed with either.
As much as I would love to complain about the underwhelming sound quality I have to be fair because at this price point I wasn't expecting much but what bothered me the most is the overall quality of these speakers. The cone on one speaker came with a crack which I had to super glue. On the other speaker the speaker terminals were super brittle and I managed to brake one with very little pressure when pushing in the spade terminal.
I would not recommend these even at the price. :(
These were used in sealed custom door panel pods. Power came from a Pioneer/Carrozzeria head unit but also tried them with an Arc Audio 160W x 4 RMS amp at 4 ohm which supposedly match the power handling of the speakers quite well.
Carhartt Men's Signature Sleeve Logo Long Sleeve T-Shirt
Carhartt Men's Signature Sleeve Logo Long Sleeve T-Shirt
I needed a good work shirt and after hearing so much good about Carhartt from people over the years I thought I would give them a try. I was really disappointed when I received the shirts I had ordered and tried them on. The shirts were so itchy and nothing like the softness people had told me about when they referred to Carhartt shirts. My skin felt as though I was getting a rash from whatever kind of material they used to make the shirts. I then came to find out that Carhartt shirts were being made in Haiti and not America anymore and it was no longer an American company. Some might say it doesn't make that much difference things being made in other countries but, try one of these shirts on and tell me you wouldn't have wanted a more quality type shirt to wear made with better materials here in America. I'll definitely be returning the shirts I ordered. Save your money don't buy these shirts. You won't get the quality of an item you would've expected from the Carhartt.

DAGUA Eco-friendly Bamboo Toothbrush with Charcoal Bristles BPA-free in ecofriendly packing (soft bristles - 1 count)
I got my Dagua toothbrushes last night and I must say I’m in love! The packaging is adorable, the bristles feel amazing when I brushed my teeth last night and this morning. I bought them in an attempt to make less of an impact on earth with everyday products. I bought a few for myself, friends and family to motivate them to go green with everyday products. Also, the price is really good for the product you get. I definitely recommend this brand!
Wolverine (Marvel Animated Series)
Wolverine (Marvel Animated Series)
This is the Wolverine from the comics. I read the comic this anime was based on; the subtle points of the story line were taken out in favour of more action scenes. Even that is ok, with me because that fits in with Wolverine's character completely. The animation is great and fits the mood and theme of the series. The only things (I am being really nit-picky here), I did not like was the way Wolverine was drawn he look too lean and tall. I can understand why this was done probably to make him look more like Huge Jackman. Whereas in the comics he is more stocky even short and muscular. The other thing is Wolverine voice (in the English dub) makes him sound too young, and does not seem to go with his more gruff language. This can still be explained because of his healing factor he vocal cords stay the same as his appearance.

The story 10 years ago Wolverine and his girlfriend (Mariko Yashida) are attacked on a boat. Wolverine put up a good fight despite being shot by hundreds of rounds of machine gun fire. By the end of the fight most of the attackers are dead, but Mariko is missing. 10 year later a Japanese officer and (friend of Logan), come to America to tell Wolverine Mariko has been found. Also she is the daughter of Japanese Kingpin Shingen Yashida. Shingen is forcing her to marry the criminal king of the lawless, pirate island of Madripoor. This is so Shingen can expand his criminal empire. Wolverine attacks Shingen in his fortress/home slashes his way through Shingen's men till he reaches Shingen himself. Pretty short for a series huh, wrong Shingen is a master swordsman. He hand Wolverine probably the worst beating I have ever seen. Every one of his blows is a killing stroke the perfect representation of the of his art no unnecessary movement. The trouble is he cannot kill Logan. With his healing factor Logan simply has to take the pain and out last him till he can get a killing shot. The duel is settled with outside interference from Mariko's fiancé who hits Logan with a drugged dart. The series is Wolverine chasing Mariko to get her back. With many road block in the way some henchmen some super powered, and in some cases a whole island against him. He picks up some allies along the way like Yuriko. Yuriko want revenge against Shingen for killing her parents. Yuriko must shop in the same place as the Black Widow. Same jumpsuit with the zipper stuck half way down. No compaints from me.

Differences from the comic, after losing to Shingen Wolverine does not go through any more training except killing a whole load of human road blocks. Yuriko acts a lot older then her comic counterpart. She is not the adrenaline junky and prefers tactics over Wolverine's bull in a china shop approach. Mariko is the ultimate damsel in distress she does not even put up a fight or say anything in her private moments she seems have a recurring theme of "oh Logan. What have I done to you"? However the plentiful action scenes make up for all this. They also add nicely add in one of Wolverines forgotten powers. His strength obviously he is not in the same league are the Thing or even Spider-man (even though everyone seem to forget Spider-man how strong Spider-man is he could lift 10 tonnes people 15 after the other) but he is a touch above Captain America. There are any examples of this in the series, it though it was well used.

This is a great DVD and you get Wolverine doing what he does best, and surviving everything that is thrown at him. If you are a fan of Wolverine movie or especially comics watch this it is great. If there is a season 2 one word please Sabertooth!!!!
Hotel for Dogs
Hotel for Dogs
"Hotel for Dogs" is an absolute winner for kids and adults who love dogs (me). Two children lose their parents and end up in dubious foster care with irresponsible adults. They secretly acquire a dog and to avoid a dog-catcher the dog finds safety inside a dilapidated former hotel, teaming up with the two other dog residents. The kids, and friends they meet, conspire to turn the hotel into a haven for stray dogs and this is where the movie takes an extraordinary and interesting twist.

One of the children is an engineering genius. He devises all kinds of machines to make the dogs happy and lessen the children's workload. For example, food is automatically poured into bowls and delivered down a long dining room table to each dog. A fire hydrant appears when a pad is pushed and afterwards, the hydrant is automatically cleaned. The dogs experience riding in something that looks like the front seat of a car, with wind blowing at them and films of the outdoors shown on the screen, giving the illusion that they are speeding in the country. There are way too many clever things that the "kids" arrange for the dogs to describe here, Suffice it to say they are ingenious and absorbing in themselves. The dogs are filled with different personalities, and take star turns.

If you are looking for upbeat family entertainment, this is a sure-fire hit.
Marvel Legends Series 9 (Galactus Series) Action Figure - 1st Appearance Gray Hulk
Marvel Legends Series 9 (Galactus Series) Action Figure - 1st Appearance Gray Hulk
This is an exceptional Hulk figure. The sculpt is new and the articulation is quite good for an action figure of this size. And, it is a BIG figure! He's just as big as the Juggernaut figure from Series 6. All the joints were tight and well concealed. The paint job is OK, but the darker shaded areas are done with green rather than a darker grey color. I would think that if an action figure is going to be called "1st Appearance Grey Hulk", they would use shades of grey to color it. Maybe not. Whatever, I guess. This figure comes with the very first issue of the Incredible Hulk where Hulk is actually grey instead of green. Kind of cool. This figure is part of the Galactus Series (or Series 9). Which means that instead of getting a wall mountable display base, you get a piece of Galactus' huge 16 inch body. I know that the Amazon.com picture shows him with a display base, but you don't get one. This is where that "our prodcuts may differ from what is shown on the package" statement comes in. When you get all 7 figures in this series, the pieces can be joined together to make the 8th figure in the series--Galactus, Devourer of Worlds and arch nemesis of the Fantastic Four. A shrewd marketing technique by ToyBiz. Everyone will surely buy all the figures in order to get Galactus. He truly does look amazing when he is assembled. There is also a green, variant version of this figure available that is also very nice, but also very hard to find. He comes with a different head sculpt and the classic, purple pants. If you can find him, great! If you can't, don't worry about it. This grey version is just as good and is very durable. I highly recommend this figure and would definitely buy another if I had to. He is well stocked, so finding him will not be a problem. An excellent buy for the money.
Taggart: A Novel
Taggart: A Novel
Louis, again his prose of the Old West seems to coincide with how the true West seemed to truly be, a rough and ready time of the development of this country! How much, only history itself makes his works of fiction and true description of the lands throughout this country are clearly location that Mr. L'Amour has visited to make his writings so real and understanding of the times! May all who knew him personally, and those who loves to read his stories feel exactly like I feel, blessed to know a true writer of the Old West!! He is truly blessed is all!

Astérix - Astérix en Corse - n°20 (Une Aventvre D'Asterix) (French Edition)
I added this one to my collection and must say that, while it's fun to read, it doesn't measure up to the best of the creators' work. If you're just getting started, I'd suggest buying one (or more) of the other books in the series that predate Goscinny's death. My own favorites are Asterix et Cleopatre, --chez les Helvetes, --et le Chaudron, and Le Combat des Chefs, although there are several others I like nearly as much. These are politically-incorrect humor at its finest. Who knows how long they will remain available?
Santa In Montana (Calder Book 11)
Santa In Montana (Calder Book 11)
THis is the last book, the 15th, in the Calder series.. It is a great ending that ties up all the loose ends and lets us know where every relationship stands and the happy ending for Larego and Jessie finally comes after 20 plus years. Ths is a story of a saga that starts in 1870's with Chase Benteen Calder at the head of a cattle drive of long horns from TX with one hugh long horn at the head of the herd 4 times back and forth to gain enough cattle to populate the 600 sq miles of this Triple C ranch. Many generations are encompassed in this series with drama, love, murders, conspiracies and just good story telling. It took me many months to track all the books down (since I need Large Print) where they fit into the series, because Janet Daily wrote many books in between the ones in the Calder series. That was my summer. It 's a great read, every book individually, and then putting them all together , WOW.

Phoenix, Vol. 9: Strange Beings/Life
Phoenix Volume 9 is as good as the other volumes he wrote/drew. I am a big fan of his and have read every single book he's made. I really love his artwork and the storylines are excellent.

As stated in the description, there are 2 stories in this volume. One is about cloning which was real intersting and a fun read! The second story is about a healer who heals people to atone for the murder of her father. These two stories are slow moving allowing you to savor the story as you read it.

I liked both stories equally and the two stories are well told. It's amazing how he comes up with stories that you don't read anywhere else. Very unique stories that makes you want more! I read this book in one day. (if you have the time) Be sure to read his other volumes and his Buddha series. They're all excellent. I can't say which books were better. The only thing I didn't care for of his was the Astro Boy manga series.

Well worth the price!
Smith of Wootton Major
Smith of Wootton Major
This is one of my favorite Tolkien books. It is a wonderful tale of adventure and creativity that's waiting deep inside us. Of course, in the story it is "set free" by a specific gift at a birthday party. In the past I've used that story (as a piano teacher) to share an abbreviated version for a beginning piano student, telling him/her that ..."When you learn a piece of music that you love", I'll help you learn how to memorize it. When you have a favorite piece of music memorized, it's yours for life. You can play it without having the printed copy of the music with you." That's what I did as a child and teenager. ... Oh, and I'd put an extra star on the page of whatever music they memorized. For younger students, I'd put one symbolically on his/her forehead -- just like in the story. Being creative is a wonderful thing, regardless of our age.

BEDAZZLED: STEPHENIE MEYER AND THE TWILIGHT PHENOMENON
BEDAZZLED: STEPHENIE MEYER AND THE TWILIGHT PHENOMENON
Bedazzled by George Beahm and other guest writers is a wonderful compliment to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight Saga. As an accompaniment, this book works to provide insights into the various elements, characters and ideas of Stephenie's work. The book is separated into six parts, detailing everything from travel tips for Twilighters, conventions, where to find signed cast photos, to personal insights into each character's psyche. It also deals with facts about Stephenie, her own reading recommendations and inspirations, as well as some interesting parodies, tips for aspiring writers, not to mention the in-depth information about each book. It also includes information on Stephenie's wonderful website and the wonders that can be discovered there.

The book includes a lot of interesting information including perspectives from fans; particular favourites of mine were the fan's list of why we love Edward Cullen and the section 'Tell tale signs you've been smitten by Twilight', which was particularly interesting - and I found each fact to be correct about my reading experience --I guarantee that any Twilighter obsessed with the books will find themselves agreeing with most of the facts, but it's a relief to see there are others like there just like us, they just get to write about it! The insights into Bella and Edward are wonderful too.

Simply put and in summation, this book is wonderful, humorous, a scintillating read and no Twilight Saga fan's shelf is complete without this!

The writing is intelligent, well-thought out and thorough and I honestly can't give the book enough praise. Highly recommended!

Andrew Neiderman's DUPLICATES is a nightmarish journey of a family loosing it's identity, a what-if type of a novel that disturbs no matter how fluff the result is. As always the author doesn't waste any time with an overlong plot. He takes the reader right into the action without stops to the final showdown. Recommended.-----Martin Boucher
Back to the Stone Age
Back to the Stone Age
Even though it was clear by the time ERB wrote this, the Pellucidar books were starting to falter, I greatly enjoyed this book. I have a few reasons for this: One, Von Horst (or Von) is a likeable hero who isn't quite as gratuitously stupid as some of Burroughs' other heroes. For another, I just liked the spunky, matter-of-fact heroine, La-ja. She's easily one of ERB's best heroines despite being cast in the standard mold of such a character. While parts of the book seemed overdone (ie, the Mammoth Men portion), others were quite appealing(the Gorbuses, Von's living death in the trodon cave). For me then this was a satisfying read that more than paid off when in the end Von finally fought Gaz. Surely not among ERB's best but definitely far above his worst.

An engaging story with a good message for young children. My 3 year old adored this book and asked for it constantly in the run up to Christmas. So much so that we bought the other books in the series as a Christmas gift for her.

Harry Potter Hufflepuff Crest Official Drinks Coaster Protective Melamine Cover with Cork Base, Multi-Colour, 10 x 10 cm
I used to leave tea and ribena stains all over Mum's favourite coffee table. I was always getting told off and Mum often got very angry at me and would shout... sometimes quite loudly at me. It was quite scary. But now I have a Hufflepuff drinks coaster which must have cast a magic spell on my Mum ("Grumbleless Noangrymum" or something) because she has never cursed me since. OK, I did once get a spaghetti sauce stain on the sofa after football practice and she went ballistic, but at least now when I drink she is much calmer. It's quite impressive the positive affect it has had on her.

Verizon Cell Phone Signal Booster 4G LTE Band 13 700Mhz Verizon Cell Signal Booster Repeater Antenna Boost Mobile Phones Data+Voice Verizon Signal Booster for Home Home/Office Covers 2000 sq.ft
I did a lot of research before purchasing this particular device. It arrived in the mail really quickly and securely packaged. Instructions were poorly written but still pretty clear on how to use.
I am using this in my shop which is in the middle of no where. Prior to this I was 1x / no signal inside and if i was standing outside i would get 2 if the wind was blowing right and i stood on one foot with a tin foil hat. After mounting and connecting all the pieces I now enjoy 4g lte full bars. This is only rated for approx 1500 - 2000 sq ft of coverage, but as i am in a warehouse with no walls it covers all 5000 sq ft of my work area and since its mounted near a window i even get full strength outside (when i am on near that window).
You get 50 feet of Coax cable to run from the antenna to the repeater. Honestly needs to be more, like 100 feet. Cause if I was in a house, by the time I mounted it and ran the wire so it was hidden you wouldn't be able to get any usable length out of it.
My advice, check what band you are using and triple check it. Purchase one that works for that band and enjoy.
Only thing i am disappointed on is the price. If I were to piece it all together I could have saved myself approx. $50. but I didnt want to go through all that and bought the whole kit. I guess that's the price you pay for convenience.
Bora Portamate PM-3500-Industrial Strength Universal Rolling Mobile Base That Makes Your Heaviest Power Tools Easy to Move
Bora Portamate PM-3500-Industrial Strength Universal Rolling Mobile Base That Makes Your Heaviest Power Tools Easy to Move
I needed a strong, sturdy and steady mobile base for my Nova drill press. I was looking for something that would move easily yet support it's ~260 pounds and still be rock solid while in use; which is a tall order considering its six feet tall with a high center of gravity. This base delivers on all these points. The yellow levers easily lift the weight of the drill press off the floor through their foot activated cam action.
An important caveat is the minimum dimensions that are given as 18.25 x 23.5. Each dimension is possible but not both at the same time. This is due to the rails needing to occupy the same space within the corner pieces as their orthogonal counterparts. Thus, to achieve these dimensions, I had to cut an inch off each end of the front and rear rails; see pic. Otherwise, the assembly was quite easy, the threads were all well cut and weren't fouled with powder coating, as many tend to be.

While most bases advertise support weights that are ridiculously higher than they can obviously support, this base probably comes close to its advertised 1500 pound limit. The substandard packaging mentioned in other reviews is entirely accurate; the packing consists of little more than enclosing the pieces in very thin bubble-wrap sleeves and tossing the pieces in a cardboard box. Thankfully, mine arrived without any cosmetic damage, but certainly only due to luck.

Our 22 month old grandson yells “crayon, crayon, crayon“ every time he comes to visit. He rushes to his little easel desk and starts rattling off the color of each crayon. We bought this coloring book because, in addition to learning his colors, he is also enthusiastically learning, shapes, numbers, and letters. It is a great, fun way of reinforcing all of this knowledge he is absorbing so quickly. No screen or batteries required!

This pan is listed at 18" in diameter. In fact it is designed to fit an 18" pizza pie with 1/2 inch away from the edge all way round making it a 19" pie tin.I placed the tin in the oven and attempted to close the door, the door did not close all the way. This means that although you can fit an 18" pizza pie in the oven to keep it warm, which it will do nicely due to the fact that the opening allows for the surface of the pie to have airflow to keep it from overcrisping, bit that you will not be able to actually cook a pizza on it without somehow blocking the drafty section around the door. The quality of gauge and the form of this tin is excellent despite. It will make a wonderfull serving dish for pizza pies that you order from a restaurant, with a way to keep it nicely hot.Cleans easily.Stores easily.Good display tray.If you can live with the fact that this tin will not fit in most standard size ovens then this is the tray for you,and well worth the price.

Zenspirations (R) Coloring Book Expressions of Faith: Create, Color, Pattern, Play! (Design Originals) 32 Faithful, Affirming Designs You Can Customize, with Artistic Advice from Creator Joanne Fink
“Expressions of Faith” is exactly that – many beautiful sayings and Biblical quotes that express one's faith. There are 32 designs in this coloring book and, for me, it is quite different from other coloring books I have had in the past. The artist, Joanne Fink, has provided designs which she intends for the colorist to add elements to which will enhance the design and make it personal.

She provides drawing lessons over the first few pages of the book to show how to add your own details in drawing first and then to color second. She also provides examples from various colorists/artists who have taken her drawing and made them so different, it is hard to believe they started from the same point. I am deeply appreciative of these lessons as I have not tried this before. Seeing the variety and how beautiful each turned out, I will certainly use this coloring book to try out this new skill. Some of the pictures I will include will show how different the finished designs look from one another.

The book itself is quite nice. It is printed on a good weight paper in a bright white. While the instruction pages are printed on both sides, the designs are printed on only one side (back left blank) and the pages are perforated for easy removal from the book. If you prefer to leave your pages in the book, I have tested pencils and gel pens with no problems but you may want to put a piece of cardstock or heavyweight paper below your work if you are using markers in case they seep through.

While I color to relieve stress and anxiety at the end of the day, coloring in this book gives me the opportunity to think about my faith and to allow it to give me purpose. The book provides me both relaxation and inspiration which is a wonderful way to end my day.
12pcs Bandanas 22 X 22 Inch 100% Cotton Novelty Double Sided Print Paisley Cowboy Bandana Party Favor Scarf Headband Handkerchiefs
12pcs Bandanas 22 X 22 Inch 100% Cotton Novelty Double Sided Print Paisley Cowboy Bandana Party Favor Scarf Headband Handkerchiefs
The 12 pack of Bandanas you get comes in assorted colors. I received 12 different colors. All the bandanas are double sided with the pattern being on both sides. The hem on the edges is sewn nicely and is straight and there were no flaws with those at all. These are suppose to measure 22" x 22". However, I measured a few different ones and they do range a bit different in size. Some I measured were only 20 1/2", 21" and 22" so I would say they're close, give or take an inch. These are 100% cotton so they may shrink a little when washed. Since I did my video, I have washed them and they did shrink a little, but very minimal. When I measured them after washing and drying, they were about 1" smaller than what they were prior to washing. I dried them on low temperature in the dryer too. Otherwise, they held up well through washing them. Overall, these are a nice set of bandanas and you get quite the variety of colors which were all nice. At around $1.00 each at the time of my review, they are a good deal.
I received this product at no cost in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation for a positive review was provided. All of my reviews are based 100% off of my experience with the product and I never guarantee a positive review.

OthoKing Charging Station Organizer,Fast Charging Station for Multiple Device 5-Port USB Bamboo Wood Charging Dock,Universal Apple Watch Phone Pad and Android Like Samsung Cell Phones & Tablets
Pro: 1) small footprint
2) easy setup
3) Can charge iPad Pro, iPhone XS, wireless earbuds, and Apple Watch4
4) Single location for all devices
Cons: None at this time.
Option: 1) DO NOT buy 8 inch or shorter USB cables. Any cable shorter than 10 inch makes it very difficult to connect your devices.
2) Should mention in product description that at least 10 inch or longer USB cables should be used.
3) Amazon implies others also bought the 8 inch USB cables but doesn't mention that the length may keep you from using the product properly.
4) Would be nice if an optional Apple Watch charging cable (10 inch) was available because it becomes very crowded (using all five USB ports) from a cable management perspective.
Noche más oscura Juego de miniaturas
Noche más oscura Juego de miniaturas
Purchased the "improved" second edition set and was very disappointed. These are perfect for immediate placement on a shelf, where they would remain untouched. These figures felt cheaply made and brittle. The faces of the figures were blank and undefined. Practically every character base (the piece they stand/pose on) was warped; thin and regular sunlight on a porch/stoop could melt these. Each figure who carried a weapon (sword, staff, etc), their item was bent or curled. Beware the marketing materials - they use design graphics (which look nice and sharp) to promote this product instead of *actual* photos (which would, I imagine, show the severe flaws of these figures). To the touch, the miniatures feel brittle and unusable. Compared to Reaper Minis or the D&D licensed products, these figures are underwhelming. On the other hand, if you are looking for unplayable miniatures and want to buy for display purposes *only*, I could see where this product could be a win for you. Painted professionally and left untouched behind thick glass, you may very well have something with potential here.

Elegear 2Pcs Cool Pillowcases for Hair and Skin, 2-in-1 Design Pillow Cases for Help Sleep With Japanese Cooling Fiber, Hypoallergenic and Breathable (Gray, 50x75cm)
Myself and my husband have used these pillowcases for a few nights now and it really does work, I usually wake in the night due to being too hot and since using the pillowcase I have slept much better and not felt as dehydrated in the mornings.
Arrived very promptly
And Packaged well.
I Washed them when received and couldn’t wait to put them on my pillow and use, they washed really well too!
The Material of pillowcase is really soft and silky to touch.
One side is very cooling (you can literally feel the coolness coming from it) to touch for warm evenings and the other is so soft and perfect for cooler nights.
I definitely recommend these pillowcases.
I can imagine in those hot nights in the summer that we get, these pillowcase’s will be amazing at keeping my head nice and cool.

BLU Vivo XL3 Plus - 6.0” HD+18:9 Display Smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon – Black
It's a pretty decent, smooth running phone once you change/limit permissions on apps and disable the Blu apps. Before doing so I had issues with the music and YouTube apps pausing randomly every few seconds, phone being laggy and camera only recording anywhere from 8-40 seconds at a time before automatically stopping. This was about three weeks in and I was looking at my data usage and noticed the Blu rewards app that I had never opened used 2.56gb of data so I disabled all Blu apps and limited permissions on every other app and now I have had no problems in the last week. The only app that wouldn't work after I limited location and the option to change server settings was the camera. Not happy about that but the factory camera app has some options I really like so I'm sticking with it for now. Other than that, I really like this phone.
*Update - so now the phone is lagging again, lags on screen up (about 2 seconds), lags on split screen etc so I think I'll try rooting and removing all the unused, preinstalled apps and will update after doing so...
Update#2 - cannot root without bricking the phone until the official build comes out... oh and now's there's an unwanted guest account on the phone that i cannot delete that has access to everything except actually using the phone. Do not recommend buying this phone, it's literally spyware. The guest even left me a message in my Amazon account through creating a new list... Super creepy stuff, I wouldn't buy it again if I knew what I know now. It works fine if you don't mind a Japanese person using it when you're not, I say this because there is also an unwanted Japanese keyboard on my phone! I've had it for nearly a year and the official build still isn't out and I can't afford to buy another phone atm so there's an idea of what I'm dealing with. Ridiculousness...

Chandrakala Women's Party Wear Bollywood Readymade Indian Style Saree Blouse Padded Brocade Choli (B106)
Chandrakala Women's Party Wear Bollywood Readymade Indian Style Saree Blouse Padded Brocade Choli (B106)
Other than being a tad small, the blouse was perfect. I ordered this to wear to a wedding ceremony that called for traditional Kerala attire. Having no experience with Indian attire of any sort, it was a bit daunting to have to take to the internet. I had visited a store, but everything I liked there was a bit on the heavy side and I wanted something lighter for Bali weather. This was perfect in weight and shape. It's extremely lightweight, and was comfortable to wear (it's got a little shape in the chest, but all of these do in some way). It DOES run small. In US sizes I'm a pretty safe medium (sometimes a small, depending). I ordered a Large in this, and it was still a little on the tight side. For a 34C, the chest in this was actually pretty good, the only issue being that it was quite tight in the underarms, and a little tight around the waist (I'm about a 6, with a true-waist measurement of 28", and slightly muscular arms/shoulders). I think if my arms were a little thinner and my waist an inch smaller, this would've been perfect. Luckily, it comes with a solid allowance that's very easy to take out. If you pull out the outermost side seam of the garment, you get an additional 1-2" on each side. There's an interior inner seam so that you could pull out the first one, and still have a finished garment-- just an expanded one. I didn't have time for a tailor, so I took the first seam out and quickly hand-stitched a new one to put it in the right place for me. Then I had zero issue with the sleeves and waist. If you're pretty thin in the arms and waist, and around a 34C this would be perfect. Expect to order 1 or 2 sizes up from what you normally wear, or buy it to fit the chest and take it out a little bit. It's a decent garment for the price-- some of the more involved ones I looked at in-store were $60-100, so this is a good value for the price if you're not looking to go ALL out.
Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair - High Back Desk Chair with Adjustable Lumbar Support & Thick Seat Cushion - 140°Reclining & Rocking Mesh Computer Chair with Adjustable Headrest, Armrest
Ticova Ergonomic Office Chair - High Back Desk Chair with Adjustable Lumbar Support & Thick Seat Cushion - 140°Reclining & Rocking Mesh Computer Chair with Adjustable Headrest, Armrest
 Nice chair worth buying

I have back pain and neck fatigue for long time due to my office job. I have tried many “ergonomic office chair” different designs. They are either not ergonomic at all or too expensive. I think Ticova’s chair is quite a good value deal. I really appreciate this chair, not only because of the outlook of this chair, but also due to its flexible and ergonomic design, which can fulfill all my needs.

After receiving the chair, I can’t wait to open the carton and start to assemble it. The first thing I noticed was the weight of the box, the box is very heavy, which gave me the impression of good quality. The carton is really hard and thick. You can see seller has put plenty effort on product protection.

Coming to the chair itself. I can adjust the height of the armrest, which is nice. The padding is thick and soft with concaved shape to fit your arm. The backrest is amazing, I can adjust it forward and backward by the twisting the knob behind the chair, it really fits my spine. Elastic and Comfortable! This chair can be tilted for almost 150 degrees I guess? I really like the big reclining angle! The rocking function is great as well!

The mesh is having good resilience and breathable. What’s more, the cushion is soft and dense, which provides me nice support. This is quite different with the thin seat cushion for office chairs I have tried before. I can even adjust the headrest’s height and angle to my most comfortable position.

This chair is also doing good at small parts. The casters are quite and smooth. And the chair leg is big and looks more heavy duty compared with other chairs. Safe is the number one issue for an office chair.

One drawback of this chair is the assembly time. It took more than half an hour for me to assemble the chair, even though the instruction is pretty straight forward. However, this is acceptable for such a nice chair. Just to remind you before purchase.

Conclusion
Pro:
1. Real ergonomic adjustable chair, almost every parts can be adjusted.
2. Comfortable lumbar, headrest and armrest design.
3. Looks good quality and durable

Con:
1. 30 MN+ assembly

In total, this chair is very suitable for officers like me. It is so comfortable that it worth my recommendation. I will update after longer time of use if you encounter any problems. So far so good.

Blueair Blue Pure 411 Air Purifier for home 3 Stage with Washable Pre-Filter, Particle, Carbon Filter, Captures Allergens, Viruses, Odors, Smoke, Mold, Dust, Germs, Pets, Smokers, Small Room
2-1-2019 Updated....I have been using the filter now for over a year and generally have been pleased with the results my only complaint is that occasionally the filters will have a very very strong chemical or manufacturing smell i’m not sure if this is because of a change in their supplier but when I order the filters again I will return them if they have the same smell. The odor dissipates within two to three days. The filter otherwise still works just as well as it did when I originally purchased it. I highly suggest getting on a subscriptionFor the filters as it lowers the cost but you be to the judge of that. Left at 4 stars pending next filter delivery.

1-8-2018 Ibought this filter based on the reviews of organizations and users alike, overall everyone was happy with varying levels of satisfaction. Here are the items that I have observed after one month of use. #1. The unit is very quiet and I was surprised upon opening it how simple the design is. It consists of the top fan assembly. The barrel filter with the activated charcoal filter inside and a simple frame that the filter is attached to with a cloth cover. Motor is connected by placing on top and turning a bit clockwise to lock the 2 together. #2 The entire unit is slightly larger than 2 gallon cubes of milk stacked one upon the other. (IE: It won't fit on a small nightstand or under a normal short bedside lamp. Also the unit should not be enclosed on a shelf as the air exhausts from the top and the intake is from the sides all around. I have mine on the floor beside the nightstand between the bed. #3. The outer cover actually acts as a pre-filter. Be prepared to do a quick hand wash of it every week (this will help your primary filter from being clogged with larger particles that can be caught in the fabric. My filter came with a blue and gray filter cover (the pre-filter) so I will trade then off every week and hand wash and hang dry the other one. #4. That being said there was some construction going on to a building next to ours and it smelled of burning and chemicals for just over a week. Afterward I looked at the filter (because I wash the outer filter every week.) and I saw honest truth to the filter being effective because the filter was extremely dirty. I tapped out the filter outside to remove some of the accumulated dust and debris. It still is working well. I expect I will have to replace it next month. But I would anticipate changing it out every three months because I do have strong allergies and my sleep has improved so much since it's use that it's a small price to pay. I will be getting a larger unit for the living area/office. Also happy to see that the replacement filters are not extremely expensive. I have seen some of the other mfr's filters that are 50+ for a filter for a unit that covers the same area and needed replaced every 3 to 6 months (which is what this says)

After a week of using it I questioned if it was doing any good. My roommate entered and commented how fresh the room smelled. So I started to think about when the last time I woke up in the middle of the night, which was a normal occurrence. Since I started using the unit I hadn't woke during that week. Also when I woke I felt much more rested. I have always had allergies and my roommates commented I would often snore loudly. Since I started using the filter constantly no snoring and have had a much more restful sleep. I have been very happy with this purchase. I will say that this unit is best for a Smaller room of up to 125 sq ft with standard 8' ceilings. aka 1000 cubic feet of space (LxWxH) which represents how much air the filter can process effectively. Beyond that it will be challenged to perform adequately. It is small enough that it could fit in a large suitcase and I would certainly take it if I were still traveling for work where I would spend a few weeks in a hotel room and then move to another location for another few weeks. A couple things to be aware of that I didn't initially understand.

This is our favorite Aussie style soft black licorice aside from the kind Trader Joe's used to carry in a plastic bin-style container. That one had a slightly less bitter taste and a slightly better texture. We've bought this brand three times so far, twice from Amazon and once from Raleys. This last batch of six bags all at once was the first truly fresh batch we've gotten. It's wetter and stickier than I'd prefer, but worth it, because it's the best flavor we've found since the TJs kind that they've discontinued. The single bag we got from Raleys was moderately fresh and we actually liked it better, because it was less wet and sticky. The other bag or two we got from Amazon was rock hard and a bit tough to chew. Overall that batch was a disappointment, but it the flavor made it still good enough to eat. We wish it had the twist texture instead of being smooth, especially because it is sticky. Overall we are still missing our original favorite, but this is a very close second. We don't like the other most popular brand at all. The texture of that one is too rubbery and the flavor is not complex like this one is. Darrell Lea makes a really good Aussie style soft licorice. We haven't yet tried any of their other candies.
