Angular Projects: Build nine real-world applications from scratch using Angular 8 and TypeScript
Angular Projects: Build nine real-world applications from scratch using Angular 8 and TypeScript
First of all I waited nearly two months to receive this book, issues with seller, no shipment tracking, delayed delivery etc. Nonetheless, let's get to the actual review.

I was so much looking forward to a book that focuses on Angular projects and actually building real and useful apps. I had looked at other books but specifically picked this one for that reason.

I started with the first chapter/project in the book and after getting half way through, my code was broken and the app would not compile. After some searching I was able to resolve a few smaller issues but then I continued to run into issues. The chapter started out well, showing you complete snippets of code denoting where and what has changed. Then they started to become more scarce showing only isolated changes without showing how to fix address these other issues that were arising. An example is adding a form and then not showing that you need to add the FormsModule to your imports in app.module.ts.

Anyhow, I thought I wasn't focused and might have missed something as I tried to just go through the code snippets without reading verbatim, line by line.

I then decided to attempt it a second time, to better understand the concepts, and to perhaps catch something I may have missed in not reading. After another frustrating attempt I was unable to finish the chapter as I ran again into same issues without any fix or even mention of changes that needed to be made to allow the project to continue to compile successfully.

I then after a few days break, decided to go back and try it again a 3rd time, being very detail-oriented and paying close attention, reading and understanding each sentence and change only to find the same issue. This time I thought, well, maybe in the next section they'll discuss how to resolve this issue so I pressed on adding more and more code changes without the app being able to compile successfully and thus, not test or see what I was doing and why. After finishing the chapter and getting to the summary page, I was so frustrated that I decided to come here and write this review.

Considering this is Packt Publishing and not an independent, I am very disappointed in the quality of their work, the seller, the overall time I took to receive the material, and the fact that there are not even any footnotes or amendments to the book highlighting/correcting errors/omissions.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend to anyone to spend the $40 on this book. Save your money, and watch a few YouTube tutorials on-line.

I will definitely request a refund but I'm not sure if I will get one.
The 100 Best Stocks to Buy in 2020
The 100 Best Stocks to Buy in 2020
I'm deeply disappointed that they've gutted this book series.

Gone are all the charts at the beginning that highlighted certain segments of the market. Gone is all the analysis at the beginning of the book that helped contextualize all their picks. Gone is all the explanations for why they picked 17 new stocks this year.

And most importantly, they don't say how their picks matched up to the success of the S&P 500 last year, which was the benchmark they measured themselves against every single year. With the intellectual dishonesty of refusing to compare their picks to the broader index, it reinforces that they are very poor stock pickers, and I shouldn't spend my money on their book, because I'd earn more investing in an index.

This book has been reduced to a glorified blog post. I will never buy it again.
University Of Michigan Vault Wolverine Winter Warm Slouchy Beanie
University Of Michigan Vault Wolverine Winter Warm Slouchy Beanie
The item I received looked nothing like what I ordered. It said it was a warm knit beanie, but it is made of t shirt material. The stitching is poor quality and there is a peice of fabric sticking out of one seam. The mascot in the picture is large and nearly covers the whole beanie, but what I received had a very small mascot on it that looks ridiculous. It is very poor quality and not as pictured. Very unsatisfied!!!
The Essential Aretha Franklin
The Essential Aretha Franklin
I know it is popular to diss this era in Franklin's career---too young, wrong material, too much pop, not enough soul. Well, some of that critique is certainly right in the sense that here she often (not always!) sounds more like a mainstream singer who sometimes adds a bit of soul to spice things up than the no-holds-barred soul singer she became. There are certainly some songs that lean to soul (like "Just for a Thrill"), but for the most part this is often a more sedate collection, a little more classic mainstream and softer jazzy stuff than what would follow. That's fine with me, frankly. If the energy of later years is sometimes missing, so, too, mostly, are some tendencies to overindulge riffs and screeches. The bottom line: she does this more classic material exceptionally well. If it isn't the material you want in your personal taste, so be it. If it wasn't what she preferred to sing, so be it. But on its own, it works great. Take it for what it is and enjoy.
Avengers Marvel Black Panther 6"-Scale Marvel Super Hero Action Figure Toy
Avengers Marvel Black Panther 6"-Scale Marvel Super Hero Action Figure Toy
From our 11 year old: This is a very good action figure. It looks realistic and not cheap. The knees and elbows bend very well. The weapon is fun to play with when he is fighting other guys. I bought this with my own money so I was very glad it wasn't very expensive. Some of them are very expensive. This looks very realistic but not for a lot of money so I think it is five stars. My little brother also says it is a very cool figure.
Mr. Murder
Mr. Murder
I am starting to get the impression that Dean Koontz is capable of making even the most mundane things in life interesting. Not that this book is mundane, but some of the more boring details of the book are even made interesting by his writing style. As in a lot of his books, there is an unrealistic premise that is very important to the story. To me, this is what makes it more intriguing since it takes it one step further than your basic thriller novel.

However, with all the positives, there are still some annoying flaws in the story. The worst of these being the typical, but unrealistic way the lead female character is written. Koontz seems to make the romantic interest character in the image of the perfect, supportive, brilliant, over competent and beautiful stereotype. I guess if I were reading a romance I would like this, but in these types of stories it just becomes an obstacle to the rest of the story. I would be tempted to skip sections of the book just to get past it, but would end up reading it to make sure I did not miss something important.

And in this particular story, he takes this character a step further into goofiness. Without any more explanation than that she had taken a little training, the psychologist wife of the main character turns out to be G.I. Jane as well. Somehow she is not only all that is listed above, but also pretty freaking tactical and proficient when it comes to firearms usage. She approaches situations with the knowhow and ability of a Navy Seal, and pretty much was the protector of he family. Realistically, simply using a shotgun can be very difficult and unnerving for anyone who does not shoot them a lot, yet she handles it like Rambo despite the huge difference in size and experience. But if you can turn a blind eye to that, it is overall pretty good and does have a bit of a surprise at the end.
Time Was: Time and Again, Book 1
Time Was: Time and Again, Book 1
I was expecting more of a speculative fiction/sci-fi story. This was more of a straight out romance. The characters were likable, and the writing smooth and polished, as I have come to expect from reading her stories written as J.D. Robb.
I now see that this is the inception of at least a two book series. I will try to find more featuring Libby and Caleb.
A Little Fate
A Little Fate
I'm as hardened a reader as the next, but sometimes life throws one a curve and you just want to curl up with something magical which will be uplifting and *happy*. Not only are these stories uplifting and happy but they are written with wonderful language. I am so sick of the word "fisted" in chic lit ("he fisted his hands in her hair".....it is halfway between fight night and school yard brawls...........THAT is modern romance? ugh)..............this is softer, dreamier and perfect for winter's end. I wish we had more of these out of time, out of space ADULT fairy tales.
Phil Wire (Lucky Luke)
Phil Wire (Lucky Luke)
Cinebook is now getting around to translating some of the earliest pre-Goscinny Lucky Luke books from the 1950s and even before that, though the rather primitive nature of these first volumes makes many of them curiosities rather than must-have items. This one isn't bad, largely because the character of 'Phil Defer' (in the original French) is visually striking and the gags and action are engaging, if surprisingly violent. Couldn't a more creative translation of the villain's name be found? (The original puns on the French for 'barbed wire,' while 'Phil Wire' doesn't really mean anything...)
Zane Grey's Wild West: A Study of 31 Novels
Zane Grey's Wild West: A Study of 31 Novels
I just received my copy yesterday, and have not completed reading it, but I just had to let those who may be interested, that this is a book well worth the price if you are at all interested in Zane Grey and his work. My only wish is: Will Mr. Friesen go ahead and do the rest of the novels? I sure hope he does. My only quibble with the book is his selectiion of novels he does critique. But as he says in the preface: "once one gets beyond a dozen or so obvious choices, gradations in literary worth become debatable....Also, personal taste becomes a factor..." One glaring omission is The Heritage of the Desert which was the first "true" western Zane Grey wrote after traveling out there to see the land for himself in 1907 with Buffalo Jones. Yet, that is my opinion. Otherwise, I congratulate Mr. Friesen on such a wonderful addition to my Zane Grey library, and I think to anyone else's. Anything to keep Zane Grey in the public eye is important. He is still the greatest western novelist of all time!. December 28,I have completed reading the book, and my opinion has not changed in the least. But in re-reading my review I noticed I did not describe how or what Mr. Friesen did in the way of literary discussion. Basically what he does in this book is tell you the story line of each novel, quite in detail, from beginning to end; and relates where Zane Grey most likely received the opinion he is expressing in his work. The most likely candidates are Wordsworth, and Thoreau, with a touch of Darwin when it comes to the "survival of the fittest" and the fact environment affects the characters. There are some references to Zane Grey's personal life, and an extensive bibliography of books referenced in this work, and also a thorough index to help you locate what you might want to know.

154 Minute Version 2015 Release
How disappointing that one waits 15 years for the first official dvd release and it the short version of this epic drama.
Badly edited and missing integral scenes since its original 1966 Release . The original version ran for 189 minutes and was more complete and flowed better.
The film itself is good but could have been very good . It's beautifully filmed , evocative of the period and with an excellent central performance by 'Max Von Sydow' in one of his first international english speaking roles.
I felt that 'Julie Andrews' , however , was somewhat miscast in a sombre dramatic role.
Richard Harris plays , well....Richard Harris really , as a rowdy and bitter Sea Boat Captain.
The supporting cast includes 'Carroll O'Connor' and a young 'Gene Hackman'.
Overall it's a good watch but the full version would have garnished it an extra star.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Special Edition)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Special Edition)
This is the third copy of this movie that I have bought from Amazon. It stops playing around the part where Harry is having dreams about the door at the Department of Mysteries. Even trying to go to the Screen Selection Menu didn't help because the disc won't play anything past that one scene. I bought all of the Harry Potter DVDs from Amazon, and this is the only one I have had to replace. And it doesn't matter if it's fullscreen or widescreen; they both stop playing. I know FOR A FACT that it isn't my player. The DVDs this movie is being putting on are defective. DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE FROM AMAZON!
Dragon Strike Game: Dragon with Motorized Neck Sweepin' Action; Ages 6 and Up
Dragon Strike Game: Dragon with Motorized Neck Sweepin' Action; Ages 6 and Up
This game is very simple, and not exactly the type of game you'd probably want for endless hours of entertainment, especially for anyone teenager age or older. If you're looking for a short 20 minute game to play with your kids ages 4-9 or so, this game is fantastic! It's simple enough for young kids to play, and they absolutely love the large moving dragon, and how it swings around and knocks the gems off of your character as you run thru the cave.

Out of all the kids games we have (cooties, ants in the pants, break the ice, etc.), when we ask the young kids which game they want to play, they pick this one 9 out of 10 times. That's really all I need to know to tell me that this is worth having, and a great gift for young kids.

I've had absolutely no problems with the dragon breaking, either. We use rechargeable batteries in it, and it works without a problem.
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (English Subtitled)
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (English Subtitled)
Writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay's beloved fictional Bengali detective, Byomkesh Bakshy, has been adapted to cinema so many times, what's one more for the road? Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is director Dibakar Banerjee's baby, and it's mostly an engrossing if leisurely watch. In inhabiting the celebrated "satyanweshi" (translation: seeker of truth), as Byomkesh was wont to style himself, actor Sushant Singh Rajput affects Byomkesh's trademark unibrow look. Genetics had already given him the lean and lanky build.

As the film opens, everyone in the neighborhood knows Byomkesh Bakshy, never mind that he's yet to make his mark. It's 1943 in Calcutta, a town imperiled daily by the great global war. At the India-Burma border, the Japanese army is itching to overrun Calcutta. Within the border, the downtrodden people chafe under their British overlords and hunker down when the air raid sirens wail away. Within the border, the Chinese Green Gang operates its opium dens. Lives are cheap.

Byomkesh Bakshy, poor fellow, is fresh out of college and doesn't present much in the way of prospects. His darling Leela has just rebuffed him to marry a well-established chemist. So why not take on that missing persons case he'd rejected earlier in the day? His client is Ajit Banerjee (Anand Tiwari) whose father vanished two months ago. Those aware of Byomkesh Bakshy's mythology recognize Ajit for the eventual sidekick he'd become to Byomkesh, and his Boswell, as well. For now, there is understated resentment between them. Maybe Byomkesh shouldn't have conjectured out loud that Ajit's dad may have run off with some wench. He may have deserved Ajit's resounding slap.

Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! is as slick a period production as any the mighty Yash Raj Films has taken on. I'm no historian of India, but seems to me that this movie, presenting an entirely impeccable mise en scène, captures the zeitgeist of pre-Independence Calcutta circa 1940s. I was instantly immersed in the tumult and grit and grime and disposition of 1943 Calcutta.

Why then ruin the ambiance with an unruly, anachronistic heavy metal soundtrack?

It's a tightly-woven mystery, but, omigosh, so many moving parts to it. You really have to pay attention. You must power thru the draggy bits. The plot observes the nucleus of how a whodunit is constructed. The dogged pursuit, the school of red herrings, the gathering of suspects in the drawing room for the grand denouement. For red-blooded viewers like you and me, the movie occasionally splatters blood on the screen, treats us to abrupt acts of savagery, lest we forget that war-torn Calcutta was far from a peaceful haven.

I wasn't sure what to make of our champion at first. He starts out not being so impressive. But, shortly after, he begins piecing things together, uttering these self-assured deductions, merely by having observed some minor detail or catching some person's throwaway remark. Byomkesh has enough of these eruptions of clarity that I got hooked into his character. He's a bold hombre, too. Seeking truths, he doesn't hesitate to impersonate a police officer. Later, he gets even bolder.

One think I wish that were done: I wish there'd been a definitive scene in which Byomkesh is tormented by the fact that it's his persistence that triggers the deaths of those around him. I think there were scenes that did touch on Byomkesh's feeling guilt, but they were more ambiguous than unequivocal. Hey, it would've been an interesting character note. I'm pretty sure he felt bad about it.

A sultry seductress. A terrifying bogeyman. A dangerous wartime conspiracy. Some fun with betel leaves. Blackmail! Disguises! Poisoning! Murder! A girl showing *gasp* forbidden skin! Death metal music! Thru it all, Byomkesh Bakshy presses on, unibrow furrowed mightily as he closes in on the culprit. If you relish Bollywood noir, if you prefer your Hindi cinema atmospheric and absent of musical interludes, if you get stoked when the hero stages a clever, last-minute bit of trickeration to nail a cunning arch-criminal... snag this movie. Divya Menon is simply lovely as Byomkesh's reticent love interest, but you know who should've played her? Kajol. Think about it. Never mind.

The battery life is good but doesn't contains a Fast Charger, even the storage is spacious. The Camera quality is fine and totally meets the expectation. The overall phone is nice but not strong enough to handle highly specified apps, like we can easily notice the lags while scrolling up/down in the YouTube trending and Instagram surfing threads. The frame rate has already been dropped. So, won't be able to access PUBG or COD not more than Low graphics and Medium FPS even the response is slower (as if playing Devil May Cry 4 in AMD Athlon processor attached PC)
