The Great American Dividend Machine: How an Outsider Became the Undisputed Champ of Wall Street
The Great American Dividend Machine: How an Outsider Became the Undisputed Champ of Wall Street
While I can't say that this book was a complete waste of my time and money, it was close enough.

Bill Spetrino does a good job in the beginning of the book telling a story about his childhood and how he had to learn to be creative to make money and basically think outside of the box to set yourself apart of the pack. His stories about how he learned to be a professional gambler are good too and he uses these examples in his book to tell the story of how he figured out how to be a great investor. However, outside of his childhood stories, he does very little in the way of passing on how he learned to be a great dividend investor and how and when he picks his stocks. If anything a lot of the 'advice' he does give is very surface level and if you've read any other books on investing or dividend investing you'll find that what he gives you is VERY surface level and for what you pay for the book pretty disappointing.

What really is the "icing on the cake" is the fact that he uses the book to ADVERTISE and PUSH for you, the reader to subscribe to his newsletter. He even uses phrases like "for six cents an hour let me do the work for you...", "Money Back Guaranteed if you don't like it..." and other things that advertisers of advisory services and newsletter do to get people to buy their services. I'd be Okay with this IF I didn't pay for the book that was supposed to help me be a better investor. Instead I paid for a short story about Bill's life, surface level analysis "skills", and for him to tell me to subscribe to his newsletter. Anyone who gave this book more than two stars has either never read or looked into fundamental or technical analysis or is a paid shill.

I read "Dividend Growth Machine" by Nathan Winklepleck recently. While it was not an all comprehensive book on dividend investing (Nathan even points it out in his book), there's more information that I found useful and actionable than Bill's book. Also, Nathan gives a list of other books suggests that might be worth his reader's time, but he doesn't shill any of them or flat-out says to buy something from them, or him.
The Richest Man in Babylon
The Richest Man in Babylon
First off, this was probably the 20th book about (finance, getting rich, making $, etc) I read. For my adult life I struggled with $, debt, bills, etc.
While the info contained within this book certainly is no secret, the story spoke to me in a way that nothing else had. Maybe it was the context, language, or the historical time tested theory, I'm not sure but whatever it was, it resonated.
I started reading this book a few years ago in a hotel room on Christmas eve.
Something about the stories, lessons, and history really spoke to me. I made a commitment and the following year saw me get out of the hamster wheel of debt that I'd been running in since I was 18.... And establish a respectable savings.
Some won't appreciate the stories, some may dismiss the lessons as "common sense" (despite the fact that they aren't applying them and are broke.)
Other stories, lessons, formats, may speak better to you.... That's fine.
But for me,
This book along with the millionaire mind are head and shoulders the two books that have made the biggest impact on me.
Art & Science of Value Investing: Invest Like Billionaire Warren Buffett
Art & Science of Value Investing: Invest Like Billionaire Warren Buffett
My review...by Robert W. Johns.

I purchased this on kindle and it arrived on my device without any problem...

This book was fun and informative. I bought this to see how Mr Thompson thinks, as the
are few books available which are actually written by individuals working in Value investment
based money management, running other peoples money as such.

I have been a value investor for five years full time and was looking for something to fill some gaps
and as a reference point. This book simply delivers, the section on discounted cash flows would be
invaluable to someone just starting out in qualitative analysis and understanding future business cash flows.

Scott writes with a relaxed and honest candor, never becoming pretentious or overbearing. It is evident he
has a genuine passion for Value investing and this shows in the highly complementary description he gives
of famous Value investors.

These kind of things are what got me into this industry, the is a considerable amount of kindness, honesty
and integrity found in the famous past, present professional practitioners of this investment approach. No doubt
many other such individuals will be the same in the future. There's a good introduction to Scott's influences and sets
a nice theme for the book.

Sometimes even those with an excellent memory can benefit from reading what they may have forgotten in time and
this book is one of those great reference guides to keep you mind sharp. The author has an MBA and in many countries
it can be difficult to hold a relevant MBA and be a value investor just down to the practicality's of it all. Therefore his line
of thinking has been of a benefit to me.

All in all i definitely picked up a few golden nuggets throughout the text and some insights making the purchase worth while.
Most of the big ideas are well represented here and beginners would do well to read this book before the classics to get
a good framework for how the goal posts have changed with market efficiency.

This reviewer would be happy to see this text in a university coarse. Although
such a coarse would undoubtedly require more material. Value investing cant be taught in a
day but you can get the bug that fast!.

I had heard of Philip L. Carret, but not in detail. There is a section with a transcript on his personality and style. This was
the highlight of the book for me as he had an incredible money management record and i am interesting in learning more.

So i have withheld one star as customary for me. I only give 5 stars to a few people and those people are Ben Graham
, Charlie Munger and of coarse Warren Buffett. My only criticism is that the book contains many quotes. Who actually originally
said some of these things first i believe may have been in some instances lost to the hands of time. I may well be wrong
and this is simply nitpicking.

How to Think Like Steve Jobs
How to Think Like Steve Jobs
And always produce and market unconventional products of superior design and quality. That, in essence, is what this compact, simply-phrased and written book is about. It is essentially an outline of Jobs’s blueprint for his commercial success. It consists of short, unnumbered chapters subtitled with quotations from Jobs applicable to the topic of each chapter. The author distilled lessons Jobs learned, concepts he initiated, and the business tactics he developed from a limited number of in-depth reference sources which he briefly mentions absent a bibliography. Each chapter, brings out something unique about Jobs, and is supported by a limited number of examples. If you want to bypass the long, heavily-detailed books written about Jobs, you might want to consider this book to grasp Jobs’ outlook of his business life quickly.

Business Biographies and Memoirs: 6 Manuscripts: Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Jack Ma, Richard Branson
I grew up in southern Illinois and some of my fondest memories was going to Busch Stadium and watching the Cardinals. The Busch family were icons during that time (1960s). One was always impressed with their immense wealth, excentricities, and flaws. William Knoedelseder does and excellent job chronicalling their beginning throughout their take over by In- Ben. He gives a great deal of information in a compelling manner.

There is information about Prohibition, the company's direction and excesses, personal failings and monumental egos. There are enough details to keep anyone's interest. He does an excellent job painting all of the principal players. He paints them warts and all but he also has a warmth for most of them. If you want specific information about the inner workings of the family - it's there. (In fact, you may need a score card of all the children from multiple marriages, cousins, and nephews.)

Is it just me, or are Rick Steves wonderful books losing a little. I swear there was a time when he gave precise directions for getting to, in, through, and out of airline terminals, railroad stations, etc. And to have committed more ink to getting into and out of the related urban centers. My latest round of these books all seem to have dispensed with that information -- and it was useful.
Invisible Branson: Definitive Guide to Becoming a Business Rock Star
Invisible Branson: Definitive Guide to Becoming a Business Rock Star
The Invisible Branson was a timely book. I simply couldn't put it down.
It dissects Richard Branson strategies from a learning and educational perspective rather than just telling the reader how great Branson is -- a subject adequately covered elsewhere.
What makes this book unique is the diversity of the authors' backgrounds and experience: a blend of eastern Buddhism, advertising and marketing knowhow coupled with true understanding of how the mind works.
The Invisible Branson certainly fills a need for the entrepreneur who wants to create a brand for themselves in their own right without sounding like some sort of egomaniac. It also highlights the important difference between empty style and solid substance.
What appealed to me is the way the authors have gone to extreme lengths to explain that the key to earning the status of a business 'rock star' like Branson is about building your reputation on solid core values consistent with the real you.
It is about far more than strutting about and feeding the ego; it is about running your enterprise so well that you outstrip your competition as a matter of course. Branson, like him or not, has done just that and The Invisible Branson analyses his unique approach in a way you can learn from and above all, apply to your own situation.
The information in The Invisible Branson is presented in a deceptively easy read that is enjoyable and easy to understand and digest. It's invaluable to business owners and managers. It definitely hit the right chords with me.
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President - Updated and Expanded with New Essays
The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President - Updated and Expanded with New Essays
This is one of the best reads i’ve had all year, for it paints an in depth picture of the pathology that afflicts our current Preidient, as described by a panel of psychiatrists and psychologists meeting at a Yale symposium. Indeed, I made a list of the personality disorders described for him and keep in on my phone; it’s a wonderful reference guide to explain the truly screwed up behavior Trump shows daily. Much of it is expected “e.g malignant narcissism” but also much to me is new (e.g “a present hedonist” who cares not what came before, or what will come after, but only about what’s happening now and how it affects him.)

The rap on the book comes from academic physicians who cite the Goldwater rule, which says you shouldn’t diagnose a person’s pathology unless you’ve examined them directly. I’m an academic and can assure you otherwise. The contributors in the book take that argument on directly, and carefully qualify their diagnoses based upon the behavior they see from afar. They also argue that Trump is the most powerful person in the world with his finger on the nuclear button...understanding his pathology “trumps” all other concerns.

History will reference this book when it analyzes Trump’s personality, pathology, and performance. I recommend it enthusiastically.

You can't see the Disco ball he's pointing to, yet we know it's there.
You can't hear what he's saying; surely though, he's lying.
He's a notch more orange in real life, but it's got to be hard to match that orange for this price.
He's as full of it as a Christmas turkey, but striving to release all that pent up stuffing- as is readily evident. He's just so
dang bloated, it'll take a while. The disco floor will suffer, as the disco ball will need cleaning; those accessories, alas, not included, but hopefully coming soon. Haven't shook the hair, no safety measures in place yet. -5 Orange Stars-

I'm a big fan of Dylan's newer recordings, especially "Love and Theft" and "Modern Times" so an album of outtakes and live recordings from that last twenty years is for me. Favourite track has to be the live version of High Water - almost worth it just for that. This is a must buy for fans of Dylan's later years.

G Fuel Bahama Mama Tub (40 Servings) Elite Energy and Endurance Formula 9.8 oz. Inspired by Roman Atwood
I'll start by saying that I deal with shift change a lot and G Fuel has been a game-changer for me. Not only with how much better it makes me feel after a shift change, but my physical performance has never been better at work. Not only that but it's a cost-effective way for me to do so. Because I use this a few times a week I try to mix up my flavors now and then. Not all the flavors are great. As an example Cotton Candy was my 2nd G Fuel Tub I ordered and it almost caused me to never try any other flavors again it was so bad. G Fuel seems to have three distinct characteristics when it comes to flavor,1 the flavor itself, 2 bitterness, 3 vitamin flavor (like the chewable Flintstone kind). This is how they rank for me.

They rank in this order

1. Bahama Mama (good flavor, no bitterness, no vitamin taste)
2. Strawberry Banana (good flavor, no bitterness, no vitamin taste)
3. Rainbow Sherbet (good flavor, very slight bitterness, no vitamin taste)
4. Strawberry Kiwi (good flavor, no bitterness, slight vitamin taste)
5. PewdiePie Lingonberry (good flavor, moderate bitterness, slight vitamin taste, very sour unlike lingonberries )
6. Cotton Candy ( okay flavor, overpowering bitterness, strong vitamin taste)
Angry Video Game Nerd
Angry Video Game Nerd
As a big fan of AVGN who has missed out on the previously-released DVDs, I was glad I waited and was able to get this collection on Blu-Ray!

Let me just get some technical stuff out of the way right up front since it is important: While this is a Blu-Ray disc, the content is all in 480i Standard Definition. These are not HD, they're not even standard DVD quality (480p). They're also presented in "Full Screen" (4:3, black bars on the sides). It's not until the very final episode that the video format was switched to widescreen (16:9) and 720p.
The discs are region free according to the boxart. There are individual chapters for each episode and a play all option. There are no subtitles on the disc.
The reason these are on a Blu-Ray disc is that they can hold so much space. Disc 1 has 19 hours of episodes on it! Also keep in mind these were filmed for the web years ago in standard definition, so there is no HD version of a lot of this content.
The set comes on 2 pressed Blu-Ray discs (not BD-R's)

The Blu-Ray itself boots up instantly to the menu.
No waiting through company logos, just right to the menu screen. Awesome.
Options on the main menu are Play-All, Episode Select (8 per screen -- I wish they would have upped this number as you need to scroll through pages and pages to get to the later episodes) and Commentaries.

As of this review, there are 137 episodes of AVGN -- this Blu-Ray contains the first 100. I believe this is the first 6 or so previously-released DVDs combined onto a blu-ray set. There are a few more recent volumes out there and I hope they later get combined into a 2nd Blu-Ray set since the quality is higher. Maybe a new set containing episodes 101-150? I'd love to see it.

CONTENT: If you're looking at this set, you know who the Angry VideoGame Nerd is. This is the same content online, just packed onto a Blu-Ray set and loaded with extras.

CHANGES: Some content has been removed (for legal purposes?) -- games that previously had movie footage (such as AVGN #6: Back to the Future) have the movie footage removed. It's pretty seamless, but the review is more entertaining/flows better with the footage in-place.

VIDEO: As mentioned, episodes 1-99 are in 480i, episode 100 is in 720p. These are typically lower-budget DVD quality, but that's exactly how these were filmed. The video quality (especially on the early episodes) are higher-quality than the same videos on youtube. Game footage if where you notice issues the most -- these appear to be recorded on VHS, transferred to a computer for editing and then produced for the web. I won't mark the set down for these issues as that's how they're filmed and it's the best they've looked. Just don't go in expecting a Blu-Ray looking set.
Some of the extras are also in 720p (disc 2) but the quality seems to be high-compressed for online rather than a disc, so the quality still isn't too great.

Extras:
Disc 1 contains 5 commentaries:
AVGN #24 (Spider-Man), #31 (Bugs Bunnys Birthday Blowout), #87 (Ninja Gaiden), #92 (Game-Glitches) and #100 (R.O.B. the Robot)

Disc 2 is loaded with special features. I've heard there are 7 hours worth and I believe that. The "Special Features" option has 6 pages of extras
Some of these are a little weird like the "Piece of Meat" britney spears music video cover with AVGN cameos ;)
Unfortunately there is no Play-All option on the extras. You can only view 1 extra at a time before it takes you back to the main menu and you need to navigate through the 6 pages of extras to find where you left off.
Hey James! You know what's BS? When a Blu-Ray disc is loaded with a hundred extras and you have to go through the list after each one to find the next one!

Also on disc 2 are a set of outtakes (19 of them, WITH a play-all option) - these run about an hour and 20 minutes total.

OVERALL: If you own the earlier DVD sets, you don't really need this unless you want all of the content on 1 disc. As far as I can tell, this content is all from the first 6 DVDs with no new extras added. Quality is also the same (except for a couple of the 720p pieces). The big benefit here is to get this set as a collection. 1 disc, 19 hours of AVGN.. and then another disc full of extras. Hard to go wrong with that. For that, I give it 5 stars.
The quality is iffy but it's also the best these have ever looked, so I can't blame them for that. It makes sense to load up a Blu-Ray (50GB) with content when a DVD is so limited (4.5 to 9GB).

As a big fan of the series who missed the earlier DVD Releases, I'm glad to have this. I wish they would've gone past episode 100 with this (since those are out on home-video) but I won't fault them for it. 100 episodes is a nice round number.
Reykjavik-Rotterdam
Reykjavik-Rotterdam
This is the Icelandic film that garnered so much deserved attention when it first hit the screens back in 2008. It stars Baltasar Kormakur as Kristofer, he is working as a low paid security guard. This is after he lost his job on the ships due to alcohol smuggling. Iceland has stupidly high tax on alcohol and so there are big bucks to be made in smuggling it in. He has done time for his crime but took the rap for his co smugglers, this includes best mate Steingrimur. He is also married to his ex wife, but Steingrimur seems very keen to help in their hour of need, probably too helpful.

Anyway money is tight and so Kristofer gets cajoled into doing one more job by Steingrimur, so with the money in place and a willing crew he sets off. Problem is Steingrimur has his fingers in a lot of pies and interests in Kristofer that go beyond his smuggling capabilities. Meanwhile Kris and co get sidelined in Rotterdam with a very unsavoury character indeed and all merry hell kicks off.

This is the most expensive film ever from Iceland and it does show, it is well directed, acted, shot and perfectly paced for that thriller atmosphere that can either make or break a film. It has been remade in the US as `Contraband' starring Mark Wahlberg, but Baltasar Kormakur directs it.

This is high octane, gripping, violent and actually funny on more than one occasion; so an all round ruddy treat. I have not seen the remake but as this was so good I will give it a whirl. There are enough twists to keep you guessing right up until the end, and yet this is one that you will get more out of on subsequent viewings as there is just so much packed in. If this is what Iceland can do then I wish them every success - in Icelandic, Dutch and some English, and a fair bit of cuss words this is one for action thriller fans and anyone who likes World cinema. Seriously if this is what Iceland is like no wonder so many mums go there!

Man and the Wasp" - nun mal vergebens. Was man hier gezeigt bekommt, entspricht quietschbuntem und jugendfreiem Popcorn-Kino.

I'm sure some will dismiss this remarkably energetic film as flawed & dated, particularly younger viewers accustomed to CGI animation—and that's understandable for anyone coming to it cold. Not only is it from an earlier era of animation, it's from a very different mindset indeed, one that didn't mind a little sloppiness & trippiness if it made for a more dynamic film. In other words, this is definitely pre-geek, with the latter's emphasis on everything fitting together perfectly & sticking to an established formula.

Well, WIZARDS is its own thing, and all the better for it. It's an attempt at fantasy with more adult themes, delving into some darker territory, with its countercultural vibe that's deeply anti-war, anti-authority, anti-conformity … and it pretty much succeeds on its own very personal terms. It's clearly the vision of creator Ralph Bakshi, not a production by committee via demographics & merchandising potential. And again, all the better for it!

If the basic fantasy trope is familiar—twin brothers, one good, one evil—it's done with exuberance & panache, utilizing a wide range of animation techniques & solid voice talent. The depiction of evil is blatant, but with good reason: this far future is the result of nuclear war in our own time, and it's the revived propaganda & ideology of Nazism that drives the mutant forces of Black Wolf. While the story is meant to be enjoyed as story, it's grounded in the concerns of one who grew up in the 1950s & 1960s … and those concerns haven't gone away, as sadly shown by current events.

Does everything work? Not everything, as the budget ran out toward the end & corners had to be cut—as would happen again with Bakshi's film of the first half of THE LORD OF THE RINGS, crippling it & preventing the second half from being made as well. For some, the dark humor & irreverent moments may not fit their notions of what a fantasy film should be. But all of this is a matter of individual taste, after all.

Final thoughts? Flaws & all, this is something distinctive, not mass-produced: and it deserves to be seen by anyone who likes fantasy & animation. Just put aside contemporary preconceptions & meet it on its own terms. You just might find yourself succumbing to its acid-tinged charms—recommended!

I loved that I didn't have to get a whole body costume for this that was hot and complex. I went to an outdoor Trunk or Treat that was blazing hot, so I just wore a short sleeve black tee shirt underneath and was very comfortable! Then actual Halloween was pretty cold, so I wore a long sleeve black sweater underneath. Loved the versatility! The bow/fur piece has loops that you can use to attach to the buttons of a button-up shirt, but since I didn't want to wear that, I had to use safety pins. I wish there was a better option, like maybe a ribbon to go around the neck?

Great Russian Short Stories (Dover Thrift Editions)
Great Russian Short Stories (Dover Thrift Editions)
This is a nice, cheap collection of Russian stories by a wide range of authors from the 19th and early 20th century, including some very nice tales by authors who are less famous (Garshin, Andreyev, Kuprin), in addition to gems by the well-known masters (Pushkin, Gogol, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Chekhov.) I would especially recommend "The Queen of Spades", a Pushkin ghost story that was turned into the great opera "Pique Dame" by Tchaikovsky, but one I've seldom seen anthologized.

One problem: I found no information in the book about who translated the stories. There are some pretty bad translations in the public domain, especially by Constance Garnett, which were written long ago (under madly intense deadlines in Garnett's case) with stiff, Victorian dialogue and known to contain inaccuracies. So one should not get this book unless one needs a copy -- any copy -- of the stories in the list, many of which can be obtained for free from Project Gutenberg (Gutenberg.org), where the translator is at least usually listed (again, avoid translations by Garnett, and stick with Maude if possible.) And if money is no object up to $10-$15, then one should seek out more modern translations, which tend to be not only more readable, but also more accurate.

Still, any differences in various translations will be slight, so this is a pretty good buy as a small gift for a casual fan of Russian Literature.
Red Monster (30 Caps) All Natural Energy & Performance
Red Monster (30 Caps) All Natural Energy & Performance
I'm sure you've read other reviews before reading mine to determine not only if the Red Monster pills are good, but also to determine if the 5 star reviews are legitimate. There is nothing I can say that will leave you convinced that this review is completely honest and legitimate. However, what I can tell you is that I have ordered this product numerous times. I don't know if you can see that next to my review aside from it being a verified purchase, but for this purchase, I ordered two boxes of 30 caps. These caps are not cheap at $4.67 per capsule. and my order cost me $280! I wouldn't drop that kind of money unless I had previously tried it and it had some benefits.

Speaking of benefits, these caps aren't as awesome as PT-141 (Google that), but they sure made a noticeable difference. At 46 years old, if I'm stressed and not super horny, they do give me a little extra boost. If I'm already horny, they made me hornier, harder, and as large as I have ever been. Now, I'm not small to begin with and my girlfriend is quite petite. The reason I tell you this is because the first time I used them, she warned me to never use them again because she thought they made me too big. Now, I may have been extra horny already that day and maybe I didn't warm her up enough, but she just shared that story when we were at an adult toy store today, which reminded me to write this review. I still take them and sometimes she doesn't notice and sometimes she questions whether I took one. They aren't cheap, but I have bought them many times and plan on getting them again.

I can't guarantee they will work for you because everyone is different. I think you should definitely notice a little difference after taking one. I don't think they will make you any bigger than what you have already been blessed with, but they did make me bigger in the sense that they have made me as hard as I have ever been on more than one occasion if I was really in the mood. They also typically make me a little hornier and harder than I would be given the same circumstances of stress, sleep, nutrition, mood, energy, etc.

If you do try them after reading my review, please post a comment and let me know they worked for you, as they may affect different people differently.
The Apocalypse Watch
The Apocalypse Watch
The Apocalypse watch is great!--to make fun of. In this yarn that drags us into the depths of a world in which the CIA HQ is sometimes in Langley, and sometimes in Britain, all armed guards are mentally retarded, the script is riddled with errors only a complete idiot could miss in the proofread, and there are enough continuity errors to make a mathemitician explode. The story has all of the feel of a perfectly good story that was spliced and the scenes played in random order right after another. For instance, one moment the new main character (you'll find out what i mean if you watch it) is crying, and the next moment he's doing his flashy-eyed-cute pose. Terrible. Now, my friend Quinn Woodhouse would like to give his opinion.

A movie where a main character can be replaced by his brother should be shot out of a cannon and punch the face of the moon. when you combine nazis with bad story, anything can happen. i would rate this film with a ten in make-fun-of-ability. this film also defies physics, where a person can drive a car from the czech republic to britain. (evidently there is a bridge connecting britain and the mainland). the axiom of crisis management is to never panic, and these people never do--even when they're being shot at.

Apollo's Song
Apollo's Song
SOME EARLY, BUT NOT LATER SPOILERS:
I must agree with Matthew Kirschenblatt--it's very good, but not Tezukas's best. The transition between episodes is not always smooth, nor are all episodes of equally high quality. I doubt that the translation is bad; Tezuka is capable of fantastic drawing--people's faces, architecture, nature, action--but his work is not uniformly great, and it isn't uniformly great in this manga.

After a hilarious, irreveverent, cynical prologue about human reproduction, we get into the story of Shogo Chikaishi, whose home life, from birth till 15, when the actual story starts, is a complete disaster: his mother has little time nor love to waste on him, being involved with a neverendieg series of lovers, all of whom she insists Shogo call "Papa." From as far back as he can remember, Shogo knows none of them are. One time, when Shogo spies on his mother and one of his "Papas" behind his mother's closed bedroom door, she beats him for it, and he says "Why did you have me anyway? I wish I'd never been born." His mother admits it was probably a mistake, and adds, "Well, that's what happns when men and women sleep together."

Something clicks in his mind, and he becomes a love-hater, growing physically sick and enraged when he sees people or animals about to make love. He kills many animals (fortunately no people), and through the police, arrives in a mental hopital, where a psychiatrist sets about curing his disease with electro-shock therapy. In his shock-induced dreams, he meets the Goddess of Love, who sentences him to wander endlessly, from life to life, always falling in love with the same girl, in different forms, but never being able to consummate this loove, because the death of one or the other of them intervenes. This is what creates the series of stories, some of which are touching, and some rather funny (Shogo, being an otherwise normal 15-year-old, has an amusing sense of humor himself). He learns to understand not only his own suffering, but that of others as well.

The sentence seems a bit stiff to me: you'd think the Goddes of Love would take his sad background into consideration!

It's a good read, and the prologue is priceless.
Bombers B-52 [VHS]
Bombers B-52 [VHS]
Again a movie I was brought up on, but this one is in a vivid color to bring the masses to the theater and away from the new invention the TV. Natalie Wood the heart throb of that time is lead in this film but Karl Malden gives a great performance as a very believable Master Sargent, Line Chief at Castle AFB, CA. On the other hand Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. as an USAF flyer is like John Travolta masquerading as a B 2 pilot in Broken Arrow! He does not make it and he does not fit the story! He does not have the look of Air Force never mind pilot. Additionally, for a pilot at that time to move from Tactical Air Command (TAC) to Strategic Air Command (SAC) would be sacrilegious and rare. This reveals problems understanding the USAF culture for the screen writer. Finally, the hair cut may be fine for a lawyer in “77 Sunset Strip” but not as an USAF Colonel. It would have been much better having the unaccredited Stewart Whitman who was flying co-pilot as the aircraft commanded in that part. At least he has a close credible look.
As a retired USAF officer who flew with SAC and worked in TAC I was very interested in viewing this film. I enjoyed the story and found it could be real but the above cast flaws and screen writing was disappointing. It appears this film was an introduction of The Superfortress B-52 to the American public and cold war-era preparedness to reassure the masses. Again, Warner Brothers injects its small screen stars into and a major motion picture to link the two media.
I very much enjoyed seeing my favorite USAF aircraft in the F-86 and B-47 in action and to see the B-52 in its original paint. A great American era long gone but as I remember it.

Stretch Head Wrap Scarf Head Wrap for women Turban Wrap Stretch Jersey Long Turban Head Wrap Tie 1 or 2
I totally expected jersey material, but I guess that others may have a very different definition of jersey fabric. I was hoping for a breathable fabric, that could be worn year round as a headwrap. These wraps are made of the durang grade polyester spandex like material that is hot to wear and it doesn’t breathe. In regards to quality, the edges are reinforced by a sewing machine, making the threads likely to break over time and lead to raveling of the fabric. As far as use, I can use them during cooler months to protect my hair from environmental concerns, but these appear to better suited to wear as a sleeping wrap or to layer over a better quality fabric to build a sculpted turban. I am disappointed but they aren’t worth the hassle of returning....meh:(
The Complete Adventures of Peter Rabbit
The Complete Adventures of Peter Rabbit
There are three stories in this book, the first of which is the Tale of Peter Rabbit. I think that this edition could be better organized, given its intended audience: First of all, you need to be able to read the table of contents to know where one story ends and the next begins. Also, the binding is very tight, making it difficult for the "baby-preschool" age group for which it is intended to flip through at the book independently. In my copy, at least, about half the story of Peter Rabbit is included a second time, presumably in error, after the third story. A small child might do better with a smaller, hardbound version.

The pictures are excellent and the stories fun. I like the literary clifford better than the animated one. The animated Clifford is too politically correct. But then again, I'm not 4 years old.
Rex Stout: A Majesty's Life-Millennium Edition
Rex Stout: A Majesty's Life-Millennium Edition
Rex Stout in his maturity was "a man of mythic dimensions." He helped enlighten America about the Nazi threat, fought racism and supported world government. You'll get all the details in this scholarly biography.

You'll also encounter interviews and vignettes that give an intimate picture of Rex Stout - demeanor, behavior and opinions. I was delighted to learn that he hid boxes of chocolates and that he built a special cabinet with one slide-out shelf per shirt to keep his shirts pristine. The comic poem Stout wrote (page 249) to defend his profession of "mystery monger" is a treat. And the many insights into the Wolfe-Archie dynamic were just what I wanted from this book.

But for a recreational reader like me, the book does have some slow-going passages. While Stout's first marriage goes by in a paragraph, his leadership of boards and committees merits long chapters. This is an authorized biography; achievements must be chronicled.

In any case, I found it fascinating that Wolfe, the most rational of detectives, came to Stout, the most rational of writers, as pure inspiration. Wolfe and Archie simply happened one day. After this spontaneous birth, plots came to Stout as he puttered around. He let his characters fill in the story, and he did no revisions. McAleer's portrayal of how Stout created the Wolfe series is a delight.

Mystery for Christmas and Other Stories: From Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine and Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine.
On a cold winter's night, if you'd like to read a charming short story by the fire and be taken back to a different time and a different place, then this is your book. Find out how and why someone would want to murder Santa. Find out why someone stole a child's favorite xmas teddy bear. Find out about the motive behind the New York xmas pickpockets. And find out the real meaning behind Christmas--and not what the fundamentalists would like you to believe. Anyway, take my word for it, this book has some excellent stories. After finishing it, I loaned it out to someone; I just hope they return it.

Mary Higgins Clark: I'll Be Seeing You
Mary Higgins Clark: I'll Be Seeing You
The book was much better in my opinion. The acting was atrocious. The "ranch" was a stucco house out in the middle of nowhere; one horse; and the "ranch" barns etc. only seen at the end of the movie. Very disjointed plot line, scenery, etc. The only reason I finished this one was because I had rented it; hoping it would get better. The MHC books are always easy to figure out, but they are an easy distraction from a stressful day. The movies seem to be a waste of time altogether.

Hogwarts Crest Counted Cross Stitch Kit, 14 Count White Aida, 10.3" x 12.2", 20 Colors
If you've never cross-stitched before, I'd avoid this product. The directions are easy to follow, but it's not for novices. It's best for those with experience as the fabric has NO PRINTING on it and requires you to follow their instructions to create.

For what you pay, the items that you receive are okay. The fabric is fine. There's enough floss in good colors. The needle is fine (though it should be packaged separately). There are directions.

There is no hoop. The fabric is not printed, so there's no easy guide to follow. The packaging is very flimsy paper bag - had to store the contents in a separate plastic bag to keep it all together. If it weren't for the convenience of having everything in one set, it's much cheaper to buy this pattern on Etsy and get the materials separate - less than $10 with ease. There are much better, much cheaper cross-stitch kits that come with everything and then some. This was not worth the price, but will be used.

This bag has almost everything required of a travel tote - multiple interior and exterior pockets, huge capacity, zip top, stability, durability. The major bone of contention is the handles - they are folded over/doubled and sewn at the top of handle where it sits on the shoulder. I really don't understand the purpose of this because now all the weight is concentrated in a smaller, harder surface area that is super uncomfortable on the shoulder. The search for the perfect tote continues...
Shop Fox D4666 Extreme-Duty Mobile Base
Shop Fox D4666 Extreme-Duty Mobile Base
I have updated my review from one star to five stars based on the great customer service I received from MaxTool regarding this purchase. They contacted me after seeing my one star review, and the manufacturer and MaxTool sent me a replacement mobile base. Below is my original one star review with the issues I encountered with this product.

The numerous five star reviews is what convinced me that this must be a good mobile base; not the one I got. There are so many issues with this base:
1. One stationary pad/leg came with a nut that was deformed at a significant angle, which prevented it from being used. The individual that assembled the nut on the threaded foot insert had to notice it was all screwed up, but since it wasn't going to be used in their shop obviously they didn't care enough to replace that $.25 part. I had to build up that area with washers since the nut was useless.
2. One of the frame inserts that operates the stationary pads was welded at an angle, which prevented one of the support legs from even going in the assembly. I had to use a punch to force the item in (of course it was too tight to move) and then use my mini sledge hammer to bend the welded insert so the leg would move freely.
3. The instructions clearly say to tighten all the bolts before putting your machinery on the mobile base. In theory this makes a lot of sense. However, the poor alignment/weld jobs means the frame is not square when you put the side rails in and tighten them down. My rear caster was off the ground almost an inch, which made the mobile cart useless as it wasn't stable. I ended up loosening everything up and placing my machinery on it and then tightened the bolts to try to make the base more stable. It worked somewhat, but this is a terrible mobile base. I have used other brands and never had this issue with them.

Save your money and don't waste your time on this inferior poorly fabricated mobile base. I will never buy another Shop Fox product again since they can't get something as simple as this correct...

Laguna Brass 3310CP/4010CP Mobile Home Two Handle Non-Metallic 8" Tub Shower Diverter with Shower Head/Arm/Flange Chrome Finish
My mother owns a modular pre fabricated home. Anyone that has any experience with these homes knows if you ever have any troubles its not as easy to repair things as a traditional stick built home. Her bathroom tub/shower faucet started to leak about 8 years into owning the home. I had a hard time finding replacement faucets that were this style. I do have to say this product was incredibly easy to install, requiring no hand tools and only a small amount of silicone to seal around the top. The problem i have is the quality of the parts. From what i examined the entire piece is plastic. I knew upon ordering that it was going to be that way i guess i was hoping for metal valves or something not so weak. I wish someone would make an all metal faucet in this style for a reasonable price. All in all i give the product an 8-10 year life span before a handle snaps off, or the valves leak.

Creative Economy Entrepreneurs: From Startup to Success: How Startups in the Creative Industries are Transforming the Global Economy
Too many talk about the importance of creativity, few do it, and even fewer grow a creative ecosystem and economy. The authors and founders of Creative Startups are doers in the creative economy. Through Creative Startups, over 450 jobs have been created across five global sites and over 90 startups. Within their experiences so far, nearly $50 million in investment capital has been raised to support the creative startups.

More than being instigators of creative economies and ecosystems, they lead by example in what they created and by sharing their lessons and insights in their book, Creative Economy Entrepreneurs. This book delivers many examples of entrepreneurs who tapped into their creative spirit and then gathered a diverse team to make it a reality. While some investors stay away from creative entrepreneurs, others realize less risk resides in the creative economy. The authors, Loy and Aageson, share why interconnectedness is essential to supporting the entrepreneurs and innovation. When a cluster builds around similar creative initiatives, momentum gains, even in tough economic situations. Supporting innovative clusters is one motivator and powerful example of the creative economy.

Creative Economy Entrepreneurs is much more than a guide or blueprint for developing and supporting innovation in different communities. It also shows the power of collaboration, partnerships, clusters, diversity, and more. Cities, universities, and others community developers can learn a great deal from Loy and Aageson in what they have shared in their book and in the work they have done.

I am giving this four stars because although it is very nice and very well made it is not actually pink like it shows in the pictures on Amazon. I bought it for my daughter's bedroom which is all pink and gray but it does not match any of the pink in my daughter's bedroom. It is a light coral color. I am posting a picture with this review that shows the light Coral rug up next to an actual pink blanket so you can tell the color difference.

When I ordered I was skeptical about the reviews and stars, However in all of amazon they are the only company to sell all 3 for an affordable price. The Instruction video is really what made me buy it, and honestly when I did the application myself I was not one bit disappointed it was super easy and I tapped the middle just as instructed and magic happened, front and camera were pure magic the back because it is not glass didn't have the same effect however one you use the scraper it was a success. HIGHLY RECOMENDABLE.
NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 MR1100 Mobile Hotspot Router for AT&T (Renewed)
NETGEAR Nighthawk M1 MR1100 Mobile Hotspot Router for AT&T (Renewed)
Product was easy to use.

Note that this did NOT come with the quick setup guide or install guide, but those are easy to find online.

The battery, back cover, and charge cable all appeared new.

The unit is used, but in good shape, and appears to be fully functional.

Note that I did not do my research; this uses a Micro SIM, and I had a Nano SIM. A quick trip to Dollar General for a $1 bring your own SIM package from one of the prepaid providers allowed me to use my existing SIM in the SIM slot.

Also, a bit of advice - take a pic of the info under the battery before you install the battery, so you don't have to take the battery out to get the wifi network password like I did. You'll need to be connected to the device by Wifi to do the setup, so you'll need the default network password. But if you forget - the device will draw power from the power cord with the battery out.

I paid a little more than I wanted to pay to upgrade my wireless, but without wired internet available to me, this is my best option.

I am using AT&T on an old unlimited plan that allows hotspot devices, so it's effective for us.

My signal strength is around -99dBm, and I'm getting around 45 Mbps Down and 8 Mbps up. I'm roughly 2.5 miles from the closest AT&T tower.

I stood this network up alongside my other device, the ZTE MF279, and it's showing -101 dBM, and around 18 Mbps Down, and 2 Mbps up - connected to the same network, plan, and tower.

So far, I am pleased. I also really like the form factor and sturdiness of the Nighthawk as compared to the MF279; it's more compact, and feels sturdier in hand than the other one - and it really holds the battery securely, which is nice when the device is actually MOBILE.

I'll update as I get more experience with it. I have bought the Netgear MIMO flat panel antenna to use with this device, if needed, as well as an external Yagi antenna; we'll see what improvement I am able to get...
Cisco CISCO1841 1841 Integrated Services Router
Cisco CISCO1841 1841 Integrated Services Router
Purchased two of these machines for our business that runs an 1841 on lease, as we are switching providers and must return it.

Delivery was on time, which is a plus, except the units came with rack mountable ears that don't actually fit the model (Our seller, RetroHardware Inc, gave us first generation 1841s which cannot be rack mounted without a tray).

On top of that, we got a router whose fan broke off its assembly that I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't inspect the machine after getting it. The fan is a 60mmx60mmx15mm with a 3 pin connector FYI for anyone wondering.

The free console cables are nice, I guess, but having to repair damaged equipment is a big no-no, along with having to replace the battery on the boards themselves.

Okaysou AirMic4S Medical Grade Air Purifier for Home Allergies and Pets, Smokers, Odors, Dust, Pollen,VOCs, 4 Optional HEPA H13 Filters, Air Purifiers Cleaner for Large Room Bedroom, 300 Sq. Ft.
I have absolutely no complaints about this air purifier!

A bit of backstory as to why I purchased it and what my needs were/are: We (2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 bunny - and yes, I'm allergic to her fur and hay!) closed on our new home (new construction) on May 4th, and between then and move-in day (May 30th), I was at the new house multiple times to assemble furniture or meet delivery persons, installers, vendors, etc. I am terribly allergic to dust, but my biggest downfall is any wood particles - even small amounts of sawdust, the minute amount that often is spread into the air while painting or assembling furniture or doing our punch-list items or even tracked in by workmen on their boots - can give me a terrible allergy and/or asthma attack, often lasting the entire day. After a few trips, with me only in the house a handful of hours or less, I kept having allergy attacks. I could only imagine how much worse it would get when we moved in and I was sleeping there all night! (I won't even mention the anxiety I was having about signing a mortgage on what I thought was my dream house if it turned out I was allergic to it! Literally had nightmares about hidden mold or Chinese drywalls, despite it passing multiple inspections!)

So I bought this, and it arrived the same day we moved in (so it wasn't running ahead of time). I almost bought a different model, which was more expensive but said it would work for a larger-size room. However, my thinking (and I could be wrong, but so far, seems to be correct) was that if this model purified all the air in a 300 sq. ft. room in 15 minutes, then it could do a larger sized room, just not as fast. My goal was to have this running 24/7, provided it's quiet enough (it is!), so I decided to save money and get this model. I have also had the ion air purifiers in the past and aside from getting more static electricity, saw no benefits to using them - I knew I needed something with a HEPA filter or similar.

So with that in mind, here's my review:
First of all, to be fair, I did not get the special "allergen" filter/filtration system. (When considering this model, I saw that they have specific filters - i.e., lots of pets, mold/mildew, smokers, etc.) I'm using what came with it, though when it's time to replace the filter, I might try it. Secondly, we don't have mold, mildew, or smoke, so I can't really comment on how effective it is with those particular allergens. What I can attest to is that I have not had an allergy attack since May 30th (over 6 weeks ago). I have continued the same prescription allergy treatments and nasal sprays I had prior to our move, when I was having allergy attacks after just a few hours at the new house.

The purifier stays in my Master bedroom, which has an attached bathroom and 2 closets, so really, it's working on about a 700 sq. ft. area (entire house is 2,200 sq. ft. over 2 floors, so when the door is open, maybe it's working on all air? *shrug*). It is VERY quiet, and I almost never notice it. I keep it on medium or high, 24/7, and the low setting is even quieter. I keep the blue "night light" (as I call it) feature off, and the brightness from the buttons alone is strong enough that I put it in a corner - to guide me when I get up in the night to use the bathroom (no need to turn on lights), but blocked from my line of vision. To be fair, the wireless signal extender in my room has a stronger light from the power button, so really, I'm probably nitpicking over something so minor that most wouldn't even think to mention it.

In sum, I'm not a scientist testing my air, so I can't prove how effective or efficient it is. And if you don't have severe allergies, asthma, and/or rhinitis like I do, maybe you don't need a model this efficient. I think it's actually very reasonably priced, in comparison to the models I've tried in the past, particularly given how helpful it is for me. I can say it is quieter than the models I had in college and law school, smaller and more compact, and I'm positive it's working because my allergy attacks went from having one after a few hours in our new house to living in our new house for 6 weeks without a single attack. My dream home remains my dream home! But again, I can't attest to how well it works on smells or other allergens (smoke, mold, mildew, etc.) - I'm reviewing this solely on my experience as someone highly sensitive to dust and wood particles, and in that sense, I couldn't be happier.

Note: I have not tired the timer function, because I leave mine running 24/7. So I didn't review that, but I'm sure it works great!

I bought this in Dec 2019. It was never a smooth process to get it to work. I didn’t use it heavily so it was not an issue with wear and tear. I have had issues with clogging, air in the lines, resetting not working at times but I have managed to fix those issues thanks to like minded folks who already went through the pain I found on the web.
However, a new problem with the printer not recognizing yellow is my latest uncorrectable issue. I have tried everything the community of sublimaters posted as potential solutions including rolling back any firmware updates but nothing is working. I am not so sure what is so special about yellow but many others are having issues with this particular color,

I normally wouldn’t go back and post an update but like me I am sure you work hard for your money and are tired of throwing it away on low quality, maybe it will work, maybe sellers or manufacturers will stand behind their products-products. It hasn’t been a year yet and I have maybe printed around 100 total sheets with it.

My opinion, you are gambling by buying this but I have run across any bullet proof solutions yet either. Like most people, I don’t mind paying a little more for something that I know will work but this isn’t it.
