Reconciliation Day (Bibliomysteries Book 30)
Reconciliation Day (Bibliomysteries Book 30)
Carter is a Bram Stoker collector/fanatic of questionable ethics. His purpose is to acquire the mythical first draft of Dracula with its additional texts that describe the Count's library and includes an "alternate ending." His quest takes him to Romania where he thinks the "Blue volume" is hidden. When he gets there all he has to do is steal it. But this is Romania, a place where gypsies issue curses and the legend of Vlad the Impaler is very alive.

I like the concept of the Bibliomystery series since I am something of a bibliophile. I take it that the purpose of the series is to take a text and write a story around it; in this case, the text is Dracula by Bram Stoker.

We are treated to short chapters from the alternative, mythical version of Stoker's novel, which were pretty interesting. There was also a lot of biographical about Stoker and bibliographical information about Dracula. Unfortunately, it seems that all of this detail is hogswallop. Stoker was not impoverished; although he died in poverty because of his ill health, he actually had a good living running a playhouse for Henry Irving, who the most famous actor of his time, which involved him in traveling around the world, as part of which he met American presidents and was friends with Arthur Conan Doyle and James Whistler. Stoker didn't write Dracula in a competition with a swindler; he worked on Dracula for seven years. It is true that the original manuscript of Dracula - then entitled "The Undead" - was found in 1980, but it was found in Pennsylvania. The typescript was purchased by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, not returned to Romania.

Messing with factual details like that is unfortunate.

Nonetheless, the story seemed to be moving along, until it neared its conclusion. What happened at the end? Was it a hallucination or something else, I couldn't tell. All in all, I found the ending to be a disappointment.

Your mileage may differ.
The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing: Fifth Edition
The Neatest Little Guide to Stock Market Investing: Fifth Edition
The reviewer who said that this book is meant for the "serious beginner" said it best. This is not a fluffy book -- it's more like a 3-month investment course packed into a well-written small volume and designed to make the reader fully conversant in the language of the market. Before I picked up this book, I thought that the Dow was an exchange, like the NASDAQ. No joke. After I read it, I knew more about long-term investing strategies, market terminology, and identifying companies with value than any of my attorney colleagues who have invested in the market for years. Most individual investors seem to invest blindly in large- and mid-cap companies like Target or Apple and in mutual funds without conducting their own research. This book is for you if you want to understand not only why traders care about P/E ratios, but also how you hedge against inflated earnings calculations by analyzing other fundamental criteria, like profit margins; not only how a dividend yield is calculated, but why it matters in determining whether a stock is undervalued; and not only how Dow companies are chosen but also how to reap the benefits of leverage when investing in Dow companies.

That said, this book is not designed for swing traders or day traders. While Jason Kelly claims to espouse both value and growth approaches to investing, I'd say that the balance is 80% in favor of value (identifying good companies with long-term profitability). He explains the fundamentals of technical analysis, but his primary purpose is not to teach how to speculate or predict trends using Bollinger bands or stochastic curves. His point seems to be that an investor should use graphs and technical criteria as just one of her tools to know when to buy, how to limit the downside potential of leveraged investments.

Their isn't much self-promotion. The writing is so clear that it takes the author's personal philosophies out of the equation and focuses instead on the more broadly applicable teaching points (bullet-pointed, even, after each section). If identifying value is not a strategy that appeals to you, you won't like this book. The book is basically a love letter to Warren Buffett and has very little of Kelly jumping off the pages, other than when we mentions his own free newsletter and website in a list of a dozen or so other newsletters and websites. (By the way this list included Kelly's reviews of many stock screener tools, good financial magazines, and the most useful stock newsletters. I used it to build my internet favorites folder, which I look at everyday.)

This book provides a comprehensive treatment of fundamental investing concepts and strategies. You can turn to other, more detailed texts if you want to learn how to trade like a trader, not like an investor.

Steve Jobs.

Bob Dylan - Limited Edition Catalog Box Set
Bob Dylan - Limited Edition Catalog Box Set
In other words, this is by far the best sounding set available right now (although the packaging lacks in the usual "We don't try hardest" American sub-standard spirit).
The good things about this set are:
1. For regular CD listeners, the DSD mastering is brilliant and pristine. To use the worn out cliché; it is like hearing them again for the first time.
2. The SACD multi-track remixes are beyond expectation. If you do not already own one, this set is a major selling point for finding a SACD player.
3. The packaging is almost good. Thank goodness no plastic jewel cases. I particularly dislike them because they break and use up too much shelf space. Better than the Digipacks would have been Mini-LP format (see below).
4. The price amortizes out to a reasonable cost per CD (not great, just reasonable).
The bad things about this set are:
1. I swear this box is only made to hold 14 CDs and not the 15 that are stuffed into it.
2. They should have packaged all the CDs in Mini-LP format packages, precisely duplicating the original, historic LP designs via the all-the-rage Japanese special editions.
3. Some seriously necessary titles are still needed (Box 2?) such as Bob Dylan, The Times They Are A Changin', Self Portrait, Before The Flood, Pat Garrett, The Basement Tapes, Budokan, Shot Of Love, Time Out Of Mind, etc.
After all, it is mainly about the music. For that reason this set is very highly recommended. Now The Beatles? Eno? Springsteen?
To all those who are distraught over the Justin Timberlake fan's review: I hate to ruin your incensed rants, but I think you have been had. It sounds like a joke to me.

Marvel Studios Cinematic Collection Phase 1 [Blu-ray]
Marvel Studios Cinematic Collection Phase 1 [Blu-ray]
Movie Hunt
If you are an action movie lover, then this is the product for you. Marvel movies are action filled, with a vast storyline to go along with it. Dating back to 2008, almost every year Marvel Cinematic Universe has come out with films based on superheroes that were based on the characters in Marvel Comics. Marvel has produced and released 20 films to date, with 11 more in the stages of production. If you are someone who enjoys the Marvel movies and is a huge fan of movie marathons, then this is the perfect product for you. Finding a product that including all of the films in the series, for a lesser amount of money was difficult, but seeing this product on Amazon was an incredible relief and end of the search.

About the Bundle
There are currently three movie bundles available for purchase on Amazon. They are all separate, and the cost of them is excellent. Each movie individually is roughly $20 each, and that tends to add up if you were to buy every single film. The bundles each include six or seven discs, and they cost less as a bundle than individually. Each package is a different phase of the movie series. They organized the bundles in a way that is easy to access and use each movie. The packaging is beautiful and is made of cardboard. The package includes posters and art cards that the real fans can hang up around their place. Buying all three bundles is well worth the money spent. After looking for different collections of the Marvel series, the bundle here is the best one found. Collectors will love the design of the box art for each phase. After Captain Marvel and Avengers: End Game are released, they will release Phase 3, part 2, and it will be purchased as well.

Why Buy
Buying these bundles packs of the Marvel movies was a significant investment. You get 20 or so movies, art decals, posters, and a great box display for a great price. The Blu-ray discs work well in the United States, where others have expressed their problems with it. Works on the PS4 or Xbox One X with no problem. Amazon is excellent with their packaging and shipping, ordered the products and received them within two days with Amazon Prime. They organize the movies well in the bundle, with slots for each film, that you can place within them to keep them organized and in the case when you are not using them.

Overview
Overall, this bundle is the best choice financially and for those who are collectors of movies. The packaging is beautiful and organized, with many positives including the add-ons of posters and decals. The Collector's Edition includes six-plus discs in each phase, for a lesser price of all of them individually, and you get to keep them organized in the beautifully designed case. Each movie includes all of the bonus features, as well as a bonus disc which includes deleted scenes and Phil Coulson's introductions to each film. If you are a Marvel fan, this is the collector's edition for you.
Tragedy Girls
Tragedy Girls
In Tragedy Girls (2017), two teen girls set social media on fire by kidnapping and unleashing a pet serial killer. Will they—or their friendship—survive this newfound notoriety? Written and directed by Tyler MacIntyre with contributions by Chris Lee Hill, Tragedy Girls is a fresh, contemporary take on the genre. MacIntyre and Hill also collaborated on several other projects, including the horror-comedy Patchwork (2015), and the film undoubtedly benefited from their rapport.

Sadie Cunningham (Brianna Hildebrand) and McKayla Hooper (Alexandra Shipp) are high school cheerleaders who run an unpopular true crime blog. They hatch a plan to kidnap local serial killer Lowell (Kevin Durand) and convince him to work together. He refuses, so Sadie and McKayla opt for plan B: commit sensational murders and blame them on Lowell, all while increasing their readership with exclusive inside information on the crimes.

The plan goes awry when Lowell convinces McKayla that Sadie wants to take all the fame and notoriety for herself. He eventually escapes and tracks Sadie to her friend Jordan’s house. Jordan (Jack Quaid) is son of Sheriff Welch (Timothy V. Murphy). He has a crush on Sadie but suspects McKayla is really the serial killer. Lowell stabs Jordan, but Sadie wakes Sheriff Welch and he chases Lowell off.

The girls’ rift deepens as Sadie and Jordan fall in love and McKayla continues her life of crime with Lowell. I won’t spoil the ending, but Tragedy Girls concludes with a fiery prom night that will make anyone sensitive to the topic of school violence cringe. The film’s ending reinforces the notion that attractive, popular girls are perceived as incapable of being vicious killers.

Tragedy Girls tries to upend the traditional horror movie trope of male killers attacking female victims. Here, the killers are teen girls and their victims are predominantly men. Coupled with the relationship between two best friends, it’s stylistically similar to films like Jennifer’s Body (2009) and Ginger Snaps (2000), but without the supernatural elements. However, it shares with Ingrid Goes West (2017) the theme of social media triggering insanity.

The use of murder to accumulate Twitter likes and followers is a unique and interesting plot device. Research has shown that posting and interacting on social media produces dopamine hits to the brain, which can be very addicting. It’s not unrealistic to think someone already predisposed to homicidal tendencies might act on them if they believed it would bring additional fame through social media. There is a well-established connection between school shooters and terrorist groups, for instance, and seeking “internet notoriety.”

Violent killers are predominantly men, and female killers prefer more “subtle” methods like poisoning. Tragedy Girls at least tries to acknowledge this reality, and Sadie and McKayla resort to trickery and manipulation or surprise rather than brute force. Only by working together do they overcome their prey. By incorporating these believable elements, Tragedy Girls’ already outlandish premise avoids being too over the top.

Tragedy Girls saw a limited release in theaters and only grossed $62,000 at the box office, though it won Best Screenplay at the 2017 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival. It currently has an 81% favorability rating from critics and 67% from audiences on RottenTomatoes. It’s a shame this film didn’t receive wider release. I thought the interaction between the lead cast was great, and the dialogue was sharp and witty. I’m looking forward to seeing future projects from these filmmakers.
Black Panther The Young Prince
Black Panther The Young Prince
My students are eating this one up and, being a super nerdy fan of both Marvel and Black Panther, I definitely wanted to read this one.
I enjoyed learning more about T’Challa as a young boy, as well as some interesting connections to other Marvel characters that I didn’t expect. I would have liked a little more development of some of the characters, and a resolution to T’Challa’s relationship with his brother. And, I REALLY missed Shuri. All in all, however, I was thoroughly entertained and gobbled this up in a day!!
Icebound: A Novel
Icebound: A Novel
First of all, I'm a great Koontz fan. He is a superlative writer, and this early book--updated by the author--is an example of his extraordinary talent. FEW writers can combine great adventure and plot WITH excellent characterization. Koontz is a master of doing just this.
Icebound is a departure from Koontz's horror genre. This is strictly a techno-thriller. The action is nonstop--never a dull moment, and all very, very well done. It is about a group of scientists who are carrying out an assignment in the arctic...very believable scenario, I might add. As a result of severe weather storm conditions and sub-oceanic quakes, a large chunk of ice breaks off and they find themselves stranded on an iceberg upon which they had implanted explosives scheduled to go off in 12 hours. There are no American ships that can rescue them because of their distance and the severe weather. Only a Russian sub on a clandestine mission is close enough and has the ability to possibly rescue the team of scientists.
The stories of the men, especially the submarine captain, make you really care about the outcome. Although Koontz, in his afterword, is humble enough to diminish his technological detail as compared with a Tom Clancy, I found the whole thing so real that I was there! I love submarine adventures and to me, this numbers with the best of them.
Noteworthy is the graphic detail of what it must be like to work in such an extreme environment. The descriptions of the arctic and the weather conditions are awesome. Even the death scene where one man dies through drowning is so realistic I could imagine vividly what it felt like to die this way.
On top of the natural perils they face, there is a one twisted mind with them who is obsessively determined to commit murder. This portion of the story is also very well executed.
In short (I should have said this some paragraphs back!), I can find nothing negative to say about this story or writing style. I read it at breakneck speed because it was so riveting. I heartily recommend this book to not only Koontz fans but to anyone who enjoys a techno-thriller.
If you're looking only for a supernatural horror story, this is not the ticket. But...if you love Koontz's immense talent and want to read an exciting thriller, have at it!
The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon [L'Amour's Original Text]
The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon [L'Amour's Original Text]
First began reading Louis' over fifty years ago as an adjunct to young boy books. Thought that I had read everything he scribbled, but recently found this as a Kindle offering while surfing and didn't recall it as ever being in my library. I had to download it. First, there has never been a more readable writer than Louis; he presents a good drama and always starts his stories with an attention grabbing opening sentence. If you like an oater, there is none better than Louis to take you back to the the West and provide a romantic glimpse to the frontier and the people and characters that opened it up and made the the American West. Peach Meadow is not his best, but who cares? It is readable, gives good heroic characters, and passes a couple of hours very pleasantly.

A Bond Undone: Legends of the Condor Heroes Vol. 2
A Bond Undone: Legends of the Condor Heroes Vol. 2
This is THE classic story from Jin Yong, my favorite Wuxia author. Guo Jing's adventure continues as he learns more and more powerful kungfu from great masters. It is an engrossing read.

Minus one star for the naming convention. I understand why they may have chosen some of the names to not confuse English readers with too many Chinese names, but it does take away from the authenticity of the work somewhat. If Guo Jing and Yang Kang get to keep their names, why does Huang Rong become Lotus. Other names that jump out: Apothecary Huang (seriously, this is the only real name he is afforded in this translation), Count Seven Hong, Zephyr Lu, and so on. I've gotten used to it, but it still irks me somewhat.

Six out of Five stars.
I know, you can only give five stars. but this is easily a star better than several books I’ve review that deserved five stars. And lest you think I’m simply a hopeless Patterson fanboy, I only gave four stars to the last book of his I reviewed.
What he did right:
First of all, a great story and plot. This is a thriller and it was thrilling.
Second, he succeeds where he fail once before. He’s writing first person singular (FPS) as a female. That is a tall order for a male writer. In my humble opinion, he pulls it off in this endeavor.
In the last Patterson book I read, I dinged him a star because in an FPS narrative, he simply jumped, willy nilly, to a Third Party Omnipotent (TPO) narrative. I found that distracting, and frankly cheating. If you write FPS, then you can only tell the reader about things the narrator knows. Andy Weir pulled off a loop hole with the artifact of a journal kept by one of his characters. Half of the book is TPO, while the other half allows us to experience the personal hopes and fears of the journal writer. (FPS)
In this book, Patterson uses a similar artifact in the “Graham sessions.” Not only does he use this to effectively tell us things the the protagonist doesn’t know, he uses it for another purpose. I won’t spoil it in this review, but I will shout from the roof tops that it is pure genius.
The story takes turns that I’d like to say are surprising, but four chapter from the end I had an idea of where the end was going. Two chapter out I was convinced. Even though I had the ending figured out, it was still an enjoyable read, because I wasn’t sure. I felt validated when we got to the end.

Emmy is an FBI annalist. She’s good, but the death of her sister seems to have derailed her. Around the same time her boss retaliates against her because she rejected his inappropriate sexual advances. Now she is desperate to find and stop the killer she believes is responsible for her sister’s death. The killer is brilliant and the powers that be have declared the incidents as accidents. They are not thrilled at the prospect of the embarrassment when the truth comes out.
This broken woman desperately tries to protect the public and get justice for her sister. She turns to an old colleague/lover for help. The end takes a surprising twist that will keep the reader on his toes right up til the last page. This is one of those books that will keep you up past your bedtime, promising “just one more chapter.”
Confessions: The Murder of an Angel
Confessions: The Murder of an Angel
I think the series itself was fantastic. I really enjoyed everything that went on and all that but I'm a little disappointed that there were still unresolved issues. What about James and CP? Was she ever planning on putting an end to that or was the sarcastic meeting in the middle of the book the end of it? Those 2 kids made her life a living hell but also gave her some of the best years of her life. What's going on....
Wish You Well
Wish You Well
This movie is based on an early Baldacci novel, and fans of his more recent works will find this a different sort of story. It's set in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia in a time when mining was a major industry in need of more land containing coal. This sets up a conflict between a strong-willed, scrupulously honest grandmother who has recently lost her son, who had left for the area for city life, and now has responsibility for her two grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, who has been injured in her husband's fatal car crash. The grandmother makes her living from farming the land and feels it is her duty to preserve it, She does her best to pass on her feelings and knowledge to her grandchildren. The coal company wants the mineral rights to her land and has been pressuring her to sell at a time when she is just barely making ends meet. She has a local attorney who is her friend and who is on her side. The story masterfully develops relationships between grandmother and grandchildren, grandchildren and other young people of the area, and people who want to ensure the land stays in the family and those who would do almost anything to put the land into the hands of the coal company. The suspense is well built and leads to a bittersweet conclusion. It is in the building to this conclusion that the movie shines. The acting is believable, and the viewer is left nodding in agreement that the ending is as it should be. It's a bonus that the movie was filmed in Giles County, Virginia, a place of awe-inspiring beauty.
Tender Loving Care (UK)
Tender Loving Care (UK)
All in all, I did get some enjoyment out of Tender Loving Care. You have two actors out of four leads delivering pretty good performances, it's mostly fairly well shot, and I love the concept of interactive movies. However, there were some major pitfalls:
1. The settings are incredibly stagnant. They should have varied the locations much, much more.
2. This film moves at a snail's pace. Too much time is spent on too little plot, and though the dialogue isn't badly written, there is simply too much of it. This story should have taken about half the time it did to unfold.
3. Not enough variety. As with the forerunner of the interactive film, the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books of the '80s, I want drastically different paths to be available to me by my choices.
4. Bad acting from John Hurt (whose role is that of a redundant, annoyingly intrusive narrator) and Marie Caldare (as catatonic wife Allison), whose pussycat whining gets annoying incredibly quickly. Michael Esposito and Beth Tegarden fare much better, one with his complicated character and the other with her enigmatic seductiveness, though because of the overlong script, even they wear thin.
5. Too many questions. At a certain point, I just want to keep moving rather than click, click, click.
You need a lot of patience to get through this one. I did find it fun overall, but Tender Loving Care is far from the complete "coming of age" of interactive movies.

I have owned a (now very fragile) copy of the paperback of this book (along with loads of other Denise Robins books) since my 20s (which is longer ago than I like to mention). I was THRILLED that amazon have issued so many of her books for kindle but in particular this one which is my absolute favourite. I don't know why, just that the characters are so compelling as is their story. A beautiful read.
The Burroughs Encyclopaedia: Characters, Places, Fauna, Flora, Technologies, Languages, Ideas and Terminologies Found in the Works of Edgar Rice Burroughs
The Burroughs Encyclopaedia: Characters, Places, Fauna, Flora, Technologies, Languages, Ideas and Terminologies Found in the Works of Edgar Rice Burroughs
I found this book to be very interesting, as it contains everything one needs to find out about Edgar Rice Burroughs' stories during his career of both creating worlds and characters, which stemmed from the mind of a dreamer and not just an author, but also he had the ability to made them so real that they adhered to one's mind, unlike so many authors since.

The main section (the Cyclopedia itself) is the fascinating part of this book as it compiles everything associated with the books. For the Burroughs' fan it would be the 'Holy Grail' if they wanted to find something particular.

In the preface Mr. Brady states, I quote, "Thus the reader will find not only things drawn entirely from Burroughs' mind, but also real-world terms, which would have been familiar to the reading public of the first half of the twentieth century but perhaps not to the modern reader." unquote.

I tend to agree and disagree with this, as I was not around in Mr. Burroughs' time, but when I first came in contact with his books was when I was a boy collecting Tarzan comics and playing Tarzan with my friends. Then, when I first saw the movie "Tarzan's Fight for Life" at the age of 15, I was affected emotionally, and the rest is history. In this way, I believe that some people today who (although maybe not to the same extent) become fans of Mr. Burroughs, starts by being affected in some way. I was a fan before I even knew I was, then I was pushed by my emotions and was hooked. This process would be the same for each generation of fans.

Like Mr. Brady, we true fans of Mr. Burroughs, still hope that Tarzan, John Carter and the rest still live in their worlds fighting for what they believe in.

Mr. Brady has done an excellent job of compiling all of the information together, even in the appendices the information is useful. I give this book five stars and recommend it to any new or old Burroughs' fans alike.

NIKE Older Kids' Tanjun Sneakers
I love these Nikes. First off, I have to say how impressed I am with the shipping. It only took 7 days to get here after I ordered, even though if came front the U.K. To U.S. I love the color, even more in person. The only thing is they're slightly smaller than the Roshes I have so I would have gone a half size bigger had I known. For reference, I typically wear a 7.5-8 in women's depending on the shoe and a 6Y kid sizes. Both my Roshes and these are in a 6Y and these are just slightly smaller, maybe closer to a 7 - 7.5. They still fit, but my big toe rubs at the end which is slightly uncomfortable. None the less, they're super cute so I still give 5/5.

Outlaws on Horseback: The History of the Organized Bands of Bank and Train Robbers Who Terrorized the Prairie Towns of Missouri, Kansas, Indian Territory, and Oklahoma for Half a Century
This book tells some great stories about the outlaws that roamed Oklahoma I.T. & North Texas, following the MK&T RR lines. They followed the RR lines so they could rob the trains. The James Gang almost put the MK&T out of business at one time due to the many robberies they pulled off. This book is for someone that enjoys history, especially history about outlaws & of the post civil war era in the U.S.A. I read this book about 20 years ago & was entertained throughout the entire book. I learned quite a bit about the outlaws as well as learning many historical facts. Very enjoyable reading!

Ultra Security 84261 Mobile Home Tulip Knob Door Lock Entry Set with Keys, Stainless Steel, KD/KW1
Ultra Security 84261 Mobile Home Tulip Knob Door Lock Entry Set with Keys, Stainless Steel, KD/KW1
There is a difference of door thickness, so I discovered the hard way.
Regular entryway door sets do not tighten up enough to use on a thinner mobile home door, and the bolts are different shapes as well.
This door entry set for mobile homes is exactly what I needed when it was time to replace my entryway door knob set.
This set was easy to install and operates smoothly.
My door had an odd backset on the bore, so I had to include a set of simple round backer plates for a good fit/seal.
Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future (Essential Texts for Nonprofit and Public Leadership and Management)
Smart Communities: How Citizens and Local Leaders Can Use Strategic Thinking to Build a Brighter Future (Essential Texts for Nonprofit and Public Leadership and Management)
Finally, an exceedingly hopeful book about how to effect meaningful change in a community, large or small. Here, Dr. Suzanne Morse, in her characteristic lively and to-the-point style, has given us a guide, repleat with documented examples of how to move the needle on those issues we're all too familiar with: poverty, lack of a board base of leadership, chidren's welfare. Armed with more than 10 years of hands on experience working with groups in communities all across the country, Dr. Morse's book, as well as many of her other supportive pieces such as What Works, guarantees us all that we no longer have to start at square one. If you were depressed by Robert Putnam's novel a few years back, Bowling Alone, which bemoaned the lack of citizen involvement in communities today, this book and the work of Dr. Morse will give you not only hope but the tools to join forces with others where you live to make a difference.
Read it for the cheer joy of finding out how this is done, and done well. Each chapter ends with, How to Get Started in Your Community, a virtual workbook for action. Her reference section will also help guide you in fruitful directions.Putnam's latest book, Better Together: Restoring the American Community, speaks of a hint that citizens are beginning to "bowl together". Dr. Morse's book is proof that they are and have been doing so effectively for the past decade.Enjoy--an exhilerating read.
Small Signal Audio Design
Small Signal Audio Design
This is the second edition of Small Signal Design. It's a fascinating book if you are interested in electronic design in the audio field. Mr. Self has included very through explanations of transistor and op amp circuits related to small signal audio design. He explains how circuits work and which characteristics of circuits are important. He builds many of the circuits to prove out theory and his simulations. He then explains the use of these circuits in various pieces of electronic equipment.

This latest edition has a lot more material on design of circuitry that interfaces with for example; phone cartridges. I'm not interested in designing such circuitry, but I still found those sections very interesting and worthwhile, because they added to my overall knowledge of design. This latest edition must be at least 100 pages longer than the first edition, which I also own, and the added pages are very valuable.

I use the knowledge I have gained from Mr. Self's books to better understand audio equipment and to help decide which equipment is well designed. These aren't easy subjects and a couple of readings of the books are required; but, I've found that after reading this book and Mr. Self's book on power amplifiers, I can often look pictures of circuits boards from various pieces of equipment, or the circuit boards themselves, and have an excellent idea of their actual circuitry. I can reference datasheets from say op amps, and tell which ones have better specifications for a particular application. That means Mr. Self is doing a great job of educating me; with some work on my part!

If you enjoy the technical part of audio, especially electronics, this a wonderful book. I also enjoy Mr. Self's humor which makes the material much more interesting.
Be a Network Marketing Leader: Build a Community to Build Your Empire
Be a Network Marketing Leader: Build a Community to Build Your Empire
This is an interesting book that I almost did not read. The reason being, full disclosure here is that I am not really a fan of network marketing per se.
I know people have made a lot of money with it. I know that companies like Amway and Mary Kay offer people a great and vibrant way to make a living but it’s just not my thing, not the way I like to do business. But then…
This book intrigued me. It kept calling me back. For some reason I felt that I might learn something from this book by Networking expert Mary Christensen so I finally picked it up one Friday afternoon and gave it a read. And you know I was right. There was a lot in this book then I ended up learning from. No I have to admit that I still will never be a network marketing person. I am not one of those people that interested in person to person sales but here is what I did learn from this book.
I learned how to grow a network of qualified .buyers. They do not have to be buyers in a direct marketing chain, but they are my customers the kind of customer I sell my consulting services to.
I learned how to use social to grow my own personal base. The chapter on social media is excellent.
I learned how to better get along with people, how to not only exchange ideas, but also how to help one another so that we can all succeed.
I learned how to create my own network of like-minded people. Not to sell things to one another but rather to help one another succeed in selling our goods and services to common customers; and how to put our skills and services together in a cooperative and complementary way offering our customers and deeper and wider solution.
I learn how to be a better communicator. How to more effectively get my message across and how to better relay my story to my customer base.
So in the end I did pick this book up and I did read it and I did learn quite a bit. As I said earlier I will never be a Network Marketing leader in the way the people in this book are. But I will be a better marketing person based on what I learned in this book.
So all I can say is whatever your personal preference. Whatever you are selling this is still a book you should read and learn from.
Aahu Barah Basmati Sela Rice 10lb
Aahu Barah Basmati Sela Rice 10lb
I became interested in Indian cuisine a year or so ago and did most of my shopping at a local family-owned (LOVELY family!) specialty store. With Covid-19 (I'm very high risk), I'm doing whatever I need to do to stay safe, so I've been acquiring food differently than I ever imagined.

I really like "real" basmati rice and was out, so I tried Amazon. Yes, it's more expensive than the local store, but services cost money. Getting stuff delivered from the supermarket costs more too. It's just how it is. Hopefully, none of us will have to live through another pandemic in our lifetimes!

ANYway...I tried this rice and was blown away by the fragrance when I opened the bag- it was WONDERFUL! It cooks up well, too (I don't soak it, but I do rinse it until the water runs clear). And if I wasn't a complete klutz and always dropping things, I wouldn't be buying it again quite so soon!

The Xtra Thick base heats quickly and retains heat well making it suitable for use on all gas, electric, ceramic and induction cooktops.

The beautiful black finish due to hard anodizing has two benefits. It makes the pressure cooker absorb heat faster, making it more energy-efficient. And the pressure cooker stays looking new for years.

With a capacity of 3 liter, this pressure cooker lets you comfortably prepare a meal for three to four people.

This cooker is Made in India but carries US UL certification. DO NOT PUT THIS PRESSURE COOKER IN DISH WASHER – If you do so, you will lose shine of hard Anodizing. I have learnt that lesson after destroying shine of one such cooker.

LA TETERA AZUL Infusión De Rooibos Premium Con Tila, Melisa Y Azahar. Infusión Relajante. Rooibos Relax. Bote A Granel De 115 Gramos Para 46 Infusiones.
