The Millionaire Next Door (Millionaire Set Book 2)
The Millionaire Next Door (Millionaire Set Book 2)
The info in the book can be summarised in one sentence- live frugally. That’s is all. It is probably worth to get the sample first before buying. There is a lot of useless statistic that extend the book and provide no useful info, for example - a few pages written about the background of millionaires (German, English,,Italian etc.) with conclusion that the background does not matter at all. Then there is info about what credit cards millionaires use - not sure what was the point here. And the bottom line is they use Visa and MasterCard. Wow!!! What a surprise and yes, they do use loyalty cards. Why? Because they live frugally!
Moreover, it jumps from various point with no logic it will start describing info in a line of ‘3 out of 192 millionaires wear a watch worth more than 5k; out of these watches one was given as a gift; 7 of 192 millionaires have never spent lots than 1k on a watch;175 out of 192 wear a watch worth less than 500 etc’, this makes it not only a super boring read but leads to a point completely unrelated like their background, which then will lead tot he fact they write a budget and stick to it, to how much they spend on alcohol to someone life story to god knows what else- I did not even finish it but can already Imagine a few pegs written about 80% of 168 out 192 millionaires’ clothing is black or grey so when it is dirty so you cannot see that and 75% do laundry only once a month which allows them to save on the cost of laundry (detergent, water and electricity) ;P

If you are very early on in your wealth creation journey you may find this info eye-opening. If you believe that millionaires drive Ferrari and wear designer clothes you will quickly change your opinion but if you already know that frugality is crucial or in fact you want to drive Ferrari then this book is pointless.

The only info that I found of interest was that they live on 7% of their wealth.

Let My People GO!: 21 Days Fasting and Prayers for Breakthrough and Deliverance
Let My People GO!: 21 Days Fasting and Prayers for Breakthrough and Deliverance
This is another gem by Senior Pastor J E Charles, an insightful and biblical teaching on effective self deliverance and breakthrough through a process of 21 days of fasting and prayers.

This book teaches biblically on how to break evil covenants, yokes, soul ties, destroy evil altars, deal with evil spiritual gatekeeper, break black magic curses and hexes, divine restoration etc.

The days we are living in are evil and withcraft are rampant due to greed, pride and wickedness of human' heart. It has been repackage and it will be our folly not to recognise and deal with it effectively as a child of God, Jesus Christ. I still frequently pray the prayers in this book for myself and family members even after the conclusion of 21 days fast and prayers program.

Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese: Guitar and Bass Transcriptions (Play-It-Like-It-Is)
All the songs I am able to play (all songs being on a 4 sting), I knew previously how to play them by ear. I can tell you that all of the tabs in this book are almost exactly how I figured them out to be. Upon a greater reveiw of the songs, there are very little differences to how they are actualy played. Overall a great buy for any bassist, an excellent buy for any Les Claypool or Primus fan. Owning a 6 string will give you full use out of this book since about half of the songs are on a 6 string.
The Fellowship of the Ring (Dramatized)
The Fellowship of the Ring (Dramatized)
This item is referred to as "The Fellowship of the Ring (BBC Full-Cast Dramatization) [UNABRIDGED]". Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines "unabridged" as "2 : being the most complete of its class : not based on one larger". This definition led me to believe that I would be receiving the whole story. I should have looked at the number of disks (or tapes) and the 4 hour time given. This is not an unabridged version of the first boook of The LOTR trilogy. It might be an unabridged version of the BBC rendition, but who knows. This is just slightly longer than the movie version, so still no Tom B, no Barrow Downs, etc.

I have not purchased the other BBC dramatications of the LOTR series, but I did notice that they are not labled "UNABRIDGED"!

Shattered
Ok, I realize this is very old, outdated, and Koontz' first major publication. It was a quick and easy read, and very predictable yet still enjoyable enough. I am currently on a mission to read all of Koontz' works. I just read Demon Seed, and now Shattered. I am reading them all in order. Although I should have saved Demon Seed for when it was updated. Which is why I am leaving Winter Moon and Icebound for their revised dates and moving on to Night Chills next.

I found myself in Europe for a funeral and just happened to be reading Hesse when we were walking in Tübingen and stumbled across his old work studio, which you had to go down a long narrow hallway to get to. I would highly recommend checking it out. A brilliant, charming woman was managing the studio and she went into a long history about Hesse and his theological studies and interests in India. Overall this experience proved to be a very good reason to have learned German!

I am in my mid twenties and this book about struggling with a spiritual sense of homelessness was very profound and timely. I found it humbling, calming, and creatively motivating. Siddhartha is excellent too. I was not the biggest fan of Steppenwolf but I understand in its time it was probably very stunning. Overall if you are a Hesse fan please read this book. It's good for the mind!

Harry Potter, The World Of: 2010 Desk Calendar
I am a HUGE Harry Potter Fan and I've been buying this desk calendar [Andrews McMeel Publishing LLC, Series] as my personal day planner since 2006. The 2010 Desk Calendar did not surprise me at all... it reminds me of the 2007 edition: same concept (stills/pictures from all the HP movies). I am a little disappointed. Still, it has the beautiful Hogwarts's crest in the back. Also, nice spaces to write and a VERY, VERY STRONG cover, so you can carry it anywhere! As always, Amazon delivered it in perfect condition. I just truly hope next year will be better. As a matter of fact, a black cover for the 'Deathly Hallows' would be amazing!!!!!

HARRY POTTER 2-FILM COLLECTION YEAR 7 - THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 1 & PART 2 DVD (2016)
Not at all what is displayed in the pictures. So far the discs seem to work fine and I like the special features. As displayed, the discs are supposed to come in one package, instead they arrived in two separate cases, with completely different art work. The 2nd part of the movie has 3 discs (1 Blu-ray, 1 DVD, and 1 special features), and the little thing that hold the discs and flips back and forth was already broken when it arrived, and the plastic wrap didn’t seem to be completely sealed. They also each came with vouchers and codes for digital copies movies, which I was initially excited about, but both of the codes are long since EXPIRED (one expired in 2017 and the other in 2013). At this point it doesn’t seem worth it to return or exchange it since the discs are fine but it is TERRIBLE advertisement/subpar packaging and I am VERY ANNOYED about the expired Digital Copy codes. I literally just wanted to replace one damaged disc in my complete set of Harry Potter movies and got stuck with this. Very bad.

This Bible is a very nice Bible. We gave it as a gift to one of our friends and she loved it. She thought it would be very helpful. We can use it to bridge our language differences. It is wouderful that it has the Chinese and English Scriptures on the same page. It is the perfect Bible to help us compare and understand God's Word in both languages. Thanks Mark.

HARRY POTTER Jumbo Coloring Book: 11" X 8" with Bonus Bookmarks! 64 Pages!! Red Cover!
Coloring book was okay. I bought it for my seven year old (who is infatuated with Harry Potter since our trip to Universal) and even I find it that the pages contain very detailed components. This coloring book would definitely be more appropriate for an older child (10 years and older), but I would stay away from it if you have a younger one.

Funko Pop Rocks: Music - Mariah Carey Christmas Collectible Figure, Multicolor
Funko has an amazing ability to capture someone's likeness, real or fiction, despite the limits of their very unique stylization. Sometimes they miss the mark, but from her trademark curls cascading over the right side of her face (Her left side is her good side) to her beauty mark they've captured her perfectly!
As a long time fan, merchandise like this is hard to come by.. so to finally have her immortalized in vinyl is something I've been waiting for since I can remember!

Dell S2317HWi 23" Screen LED-Lit Monitor with Wireless Connect and Wireless Charging Stand
Dell S2317HWi 23" Screen LED-Lit Monitor with Wireless Connect and Wireless Charging Stand
Be careful when reading these reviews! Amazon has the reviews for 4 monitors pooled together here. They are similar, but not the same. There are definitely features that some of these have that others don't! Some are glossy, and some are matte! That being said, I have all 4 of these monitors. So I've got a smorgasbord review. I'm sorry it's so long, but I'm not sure how else to accurately review when I have multiple monitors from the same page that are alike but so different! The short review: I really like these monitors, but make sure you get the one that has the features you want because they're all 4 different in some ways!

I have all 4 of the below:
1. S2317HWi -- 23" with wireless charging stand and wireless connect
2. U2417HWi -- ultrasharp 24" with wireless connect (but no wireless charging)
3. S2317HJ -- 23" with wireless charging (but no wireless connect)
4. U2417HJ -- I do not have the ultrasharp 24" with the wireless charging stand (but no wireless connect)

--The Screen Review
The screens are all beautiful from what I've seen. All 4 are IPS which means better viewing angles and more colors (but often some light bleed at the edges when looking at something VERY dark). The refresh rate on IPS isn't as fast, so they're only casual gaming. The 23" are both glossy and the 24" are both matte. This is the most important distinction to me! Some people like glossy because it makes the color pop. Some people like matte because they don't like the reflections you can see in glossy screens. They all have the very small bezel around the edge. I really think they're all bright, colorful, and amazing. The 24 inch panels are a little better panels--little better color range and come calibrated. If I bring up test images I can tell the difference, but I've really not noticed any difference in real use. The 23 don't seem to get quite as bright as the 24, but it may just be the reflective glossy playing tricks with the overhead office lights here.

They're all 16:9 and 1920x1080. You do start to see higher resolution panels, but I don't want higher resolutions for this size. I think it's the right resolution for 23" and 24" monitors.

All 4 monitors have spots you can touch on the bottom corner rather than real buttons for power and monitor controls. I prefer real buttons, but the touch spots have worked fine so far. I just find that sometimes I have to touch twice for touch spots to work. A slight annoyance since I don't use the buttons often.

--Wireless Display Connection

The U2417HWi and the S2317HWi have wireless connect. The other two monitors don't. It allows you to connect a Wifi Direct phones, tablets, and laptops to this computer without plugging in a cord. It uses Miracast which is a subset of Wifi Direct. I have laptops and tablets that support Wifi Direct, but I've really never thought to use it. But I've now tested Wifi Direct from my laptop to both of these monitors. It works really well! I haven't tried to game, but with normal work and Netflix work well! It's not the full frame rate you see on your monitor, but it's definitely usable. I'm not sure I'd want to watch an action flick, but I can work, show people pictures/video/presentations. I like it a lot! Oh, and you can duplicate the display from your laptop or you can have the monitor as a whole second screen (I think from most phones or tablets that you can probably only duplicate, but I'm not sure).

There is an annoyance with the wireless connect. If you have wireless connect on, but don't use it often, the monitor goes into wireless connect mode every time the computer physically plugged into the monitor is turned off or reboots. If you're using it with a plugged in computer all or most of the time, you'll want to turn off auto connect in the monitor settings (settings using the monitor buttons). Otherwise, every time you turn on the computer you'll have to switch the monitor from wireless to HDMI.

Windows 8 and windows 10, it's really easy to connect wirelessly (if you're laptop/tablet supports it). Before you try to connect the computer, set the monitor to wifi input. On the monitor go to the menu, input source, and choose wireless before you try to connect. In windows 8 or windows 8.1, go to the side bar (charms bar), click devices, then click project. After that, you should see the monitor you want to connect to. In windows 10 open start, go to settings, click on devices, click add device, pick your monitor. After you click on the monitor for the first time, you will need to push a button on the monitor to approve the connection (the next time you connect the same computer to the same monitor it doesn't need approval).

Then it just works! I'm actually typing on my laptop right this instant and its showing up on both my laptop and the monitor--no cords connected! And it automatically puts the sound through the monitor too! (the 23" monitors have speakers built in, you have to plug speakers into the 24" ones). It's really much cooler than I thought!

--Wireless Charging

Three of these monitors support wireless charging: S2317HWi, S2317HJ , and U2417HJ. (So only one of the two 23 inch monitors, the S2317HWi does both wireless display and wireless). Wireless charging is much less interesting to me. It allows a Qi or PMA wirless charging phone or device to sit on the monitor base and charge wirelessly. I'm an iPhone person and they don't support wireless charging. Also I change phones a lot more than I change monitors. My fear is that if I change phones and there's a new standard that I paid for a worthless feature. So I think I would rather have a separate charging mat. But these monitors do support both Qi and PMA which are the only two wireless standards available today. If your phone or device will do wireless charging, it should work with these monitors!

The 23" wireless charging and the 24" wireless charging are slightly different. The 23" wireless charging have an external power adapter (like a laptop power adapter) that goes to the stand first and then a cord goes from the stand to the monitor to power the monitor (uses the stand as a pass through). The 24" wireless charging monitor has a standard computer power cord that plugs into the monitor. Then a micro usb cord goes from the monitor to the stand to power the wireless charging.

--What's in the box, Warranty, Plugs and ports:
Here's where it gets confusing:

S2317HJ--23" with wireless charging (no wireless video connect) glossy
-video inputs: hdmi, VGA
-has sound output 3.5mm hole and 3.5mm sound input hole (can also do sound in over HDMI)
-has speakers built in
-wireless charging of devices on stand
-has a 2.0 usb hub: has one connection that goes to the computer and gives you two usb ports on the back bottom of the monitor
-comes with: external power adapter which is a standard dell laptop 75 watt adapter and a HDMI cord. Does not come with the needed USB micro cable to use the hub! (weird, huh?)
-1 year advance replacement warranty (Dell will ship you the replacement monitor first and pay for the return shipping)
-Did not come calibrated: 82% or 72% color range, 16.7 million colors so I would assume 8 bit panel

S2317HWi-- 23" with wireless charging and wireless video connect, glossy
-video inputs: hdmi, wifi-direct (no vga!)
-has sound output 3.5mm hole (no sound in hole, sound in comes from HDMI or wifi-direct)

U2417HWi-- 24" with wireless video connect (no wireless charging), matte
(some of the info on Dell's website is wrong)
-video inputs: hdmi, wifi-direct (no vga!)
-has sound output 3.5mm hole (dell website is wrong)
-no speakers built in (if you plug in speakers it can play computer sound from the HDMI or wifi-direct sound from wifi devices)
-no wireless charging
-has 3.0 USB hub: has one connection that goes to the computer and then has 4 USB 3.0 ports on the bottom back. Dell website currently says one of the 4 ports is on the back and charges when the computer is off but that information is incorrect!
-comes with: USB cable cable to connect computer and monitor (for hub), standard computer power cord, HDMI cable
-3 year advance replacement warranty (Dell will ship you the replacement monitor first and pay for the return shipping)
-came calibrated from Dell with calibration paper in the box: 96% adobe RGB 16.7 million colors so I assume 8 bit panel

U2417HJ-- 24" with wireless charging (no wireless video connect)
-video inputs--2xhdmi, DisplayPort, mini-Displayport (also has DisplayPort out to daisy chain monitors) (no VGA!)
-has speaker output 3.5mm hole
-no speakers built in
-wireless charging of devices on stand
-has 3.0 USB hub: has one connection that goes to the computer and then has 3 USB 3.0 ports on the bottom back. It also has one USB 3.0 port on the back that always charges even when the computer is off. The always on usb port is the one you connect to base so the wireless phone charger works. If you use one of the other ports it won't charge your phone when your computer is off!
-comes with: USB cable cable to connect computer and monitor (for hub), USB micro cord for wireless charging stand, standard computer power cord, DisplayPort to mini DisplayPort cable (it does not come with an HDMI cable as the Dell site states)
-3 year advance replacement warranty (Dell will ship you the replacement monitor first and pay for the return shipping)
-came calibrated from Dell with calibration paper in the box: 96% adobe RGB 16.7 million colors so I assume 8 bit panel

--Wall mounting and stand.
The two 24" moitors, the U2417HJ and the U2417HWi have a removable stand and have VESA mounting holes behind the stand. The two 23" monitors are not wall mountable. If you mount the 24" U2417HJ, you lose the wireless charging since that is a feature in the stand.

The two 23" monitors have a stand that only tilts forward and back. The 24" monitors have the much better ultrasharp stand. The 24" monitor stand lets the monitor raise and lower, tilt, twist, and turn--you can turn the 24" monitors 90 degrees in either direction and use them sideways in portrait mode (you can configure your computer to output sideways so it looks normal, just really tall!). If you use them in portrait, the monitor can bump the stand if you push it down too low. Also, the monitor corner will bump the stand when turning from portrait to landscape unless you do what the instructions say: push the monitor all the way up, tilt the bottom of the monitor all the way forward, then turn the monitor sideways.

--Conclusion
I really like these monitors. I love the Wifi-Connect that two of them have. The wireless charging is fine, but doesn't do anything for me. I like the 24" one with Wifi-Direct the best, but both of the wireless connect ones are really nice. As I said, I prefer the matte 24" monitors rather than the glossy 23" screens--but I know some prefer glossy. Just make sure you really look at the specs because there are 4 monitors on the page and they all have different specs! If the one you're getting has the specs you want, I think it's a good monitor. I have three monitors on my main computer now: This U2417HWi and two U2415. If you don't need the Wifi-Direct or the wireless charging, the U2415 is a slightly superior monitor by being 16:10. But, these are really nice monitors and I like the extra features.

Justifying Historical Descriptions (Cambridge Studies in Philosophy)
Justifying Historical Descriptions (Cambridge Studies in Philosophy)
McCullagh does as good as any other critic of historical writing and the discipline of history, in laying valid and helpful criteria for analyzing the truth or falsehood of a thesis and its evidence. He discusses the

- comprehensiveness of the evidence,

- its explanatory scope (including the usage of varying sources),

- its explanatory power for the observable sources,

- its plausibility and coherence with existing understandings of truth,

- the thesis's avoidance of claims not already accepted by the discipline

- its ability to not imply many false statements, when combined with other existing and compelling theses,

- and the thesis's overall persuasiveness when matched with rival theses, based on its ability to fulfill the previous six conditions.

The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Series (DVD)
The Big Bang Theory: The Complete Series (DVD)
There’s always something in each episode that makes me laugh out loud. Rarely does a sit-com does that. Some parts are so funny that my aunt laughs until tears run down her cheeks. This set features nice extras such as cast interviews, Paley Fest and talk show appearances. There’s mini documentaries about different aspects of the show.
The packaging is so-so. My set came in sturdy clamshell cases. But they aren’t the best quality. The hubs on the plastic inserts are not deep enough so it’s easy for the DVDs to slip off.
Also—Caveat—the clamshell cases/inserts are made of a shiny plastic. This type of plastic has a slick oily feel. Eventually your DVDs will react with this plastic and cloud up and/or rot. I ended up putting the discs in separate envelopes. I pulled out the plastic inserts and placed the enveloped discs in the clamshell case. It’s not the best system but I've had DVDs clouded by shiny plastic cases or plastic envelopes with microfiber backing. Eventually I hope to find a better quality clamshell case with inserts and matte-finished plastic interior. Other than the packaging this is a great set and will provide you with hours of laughs. All the seasons are included plus a small booklet with episode listings/descriptions. My set did not come with the pop-up book, which was disappointing.

I was able to get this set at a special deal Amazon had so watch for those. It cost way less than the UK version I had ordered last year but had to return due to shipping damage.

I used the screen for the first time for an event I hosted.
It worked great.
But there are some tricks to using it successfully.

I do recommend to play with your setup before you go out into the wild for the first time.

For example I wanted it to be back projected.
My event was going to be at night in a semi dark in the room.
Keep in mind you do see or can see the projector lens itself depending on the angle in which you position it at.
I.e. like a light bulb in the back of the screen.

Best if you can position the projector lower and angle it up or higher and angle it down if you're going to back display.
It is hard to set this up in daylight or in a lit room.
Even though I have a 6500lem projector.

And I noticed is what I thought was good setup wasn't that good once i could see clearly in darker conditions.
Both left and right position and focus was off.

Keep this in mind that you probably will have to adjust again in a low-light condition if you setup in daylight.

I will shave that you do this a few times and I'm sure gets to be old hat..

Also I might recommend when done with the screen seal in a plastic bag, the screen material itself.

I think it might be a great way to keep the screen in good condition and unsmudged and dirt free.

After conducting research, I chose this laptop for my business purposes: both running day to day online operations, but more importantly powerful enough to use in 3D modeling for new development of physical products and additive manufacturing.

The machine arrived quickly, but I should have expected something to be wrong when I noted there was no packaging material in the shipping box. I opened the interior package containing the laptop and the factory packaging appeared undamaged as well as reasonably robust.

Then I began the process of starting up my new device. In the middle of the screen the system was clearly having problems. Note the attached pictures. I went went to the manufacturer's website and made sure the latest drivers were downloaded and installed. I conducted the manufacturers online tests and this did not remedy the issue. Sadly I would have to return/replace this.

Here is where it becomes absurd. I drove to the Amazon store at Park Meadows Mall in Lone Tree, Colorado. I wanted to expedite the return process, and I conceived of Amazon being interested in getting a replacement to me quickly. I offered to come back to this location the next day if they could replace it quickly. They would not be able to replace it quickly. Not only was this not possible (and I may have been too hopeful for this outcome) the Amazon store would NOT accept the return at the location. Instead I was required to drive to a UPS store to make the return.

Along with this laptop I ordered a laptop fan to aid in keeping the device cool and performing well. Since I was not keeping the laptop I returned this item right there at the Amazon store. However, I was not allowed to turn return this broken laptop costing over $2000 in the same location. This makes NO SENSE. Why would a company that sold a product require the customer to use more third parties rather than its own agent/location in order to return it? The customer service person on-site had no explanation.

I drove another 9 miles across town to the nearest UPS store. Just before it closed. I re-initiated the return process via my smart phone. Instead of being providing a scan code to provide to UPS... I was required to email myself, and the UPS store a copy of the shipping label, then pay the UPS store additional money to print Amazon's return label.

The process was absurd.

I was really looking forward to using this device as the online reviews (not necessarily Amazon's) led me to believe this was a great computer. I do not know if the damaged screen was caused by shipment or a factory flaw.

I do know that Amazon made this process difficult. I will now be waiting for "7 days" to get my refund issued, so that I can find a replacement and it will not be from Amazon.

I will not be taking the risk of buying high-end electronics through Amazon again. At this point it may be better to buy directly from the manufacturer or a local store.

UPDATE: Between Amazon's absurd return requirements, and UPS incompetence, my time and money were totally wasted. After two weeks of waiting, worrying, tracking and nonsense, I still do not have my money back for a defective product. DO NOT BUY FROM AMAZON. They are the 21st Century version of "The telephone company". Too big to care.

I owned another ASUS router - AC87U model before and decided to go with ASUS again. AC87U had some really nasty overheating issues so it was sitting on a laptop cooling pad working 24/7 for entire three years of its life. Finally died on me when I needed it the most since my entire family is working and studying from home nowadays.
Picking GT-AC5300 over RT-AC5300 was a no-brainer for me since despite of what a lot of people are saying ROG versions is way more powerful and has 2 year ASUS warranty out of box. I've been dealing with ASUS service centre before and had absolutely zero issues with the whole process so I am absolutely confident of them backing their products.
Even though this model is lacking the newest and brightest wi-fi 6 AX capabilities no devices in my house are supporting this future standard anyways. The previous one I owned was a two-band router and I had no bandwidth issues with it despite of having 6 PCs, 4 Cell Phones and a couple Smart House devices connected to it. through Wi-Fi. Multiple high-definition video streams, conference calls and meetings are handled by this modem simultaneously without issues so far. The modem was up for 14 days now and I haven't witnessed any glitches or drop in speed.
I have this modem installed on the first floor in another end of my house and even 5G signal strength in the furthest rooms is excellent, despite of walls, ceiling and probably 70 feet distance. The signal strength is so good that I can still pick it up 100 feet away from my house when I go to pick up the mail.
Router switches radios flawlessly (it has a total of three of them 2.4 5-1 and 5-2) - if I go from one modem to another during conference call there is zero issues but maybe a slight barely noticeable delay which I could have never even caught otherwise.
Don't get confused by advertised bandwidth though - 5334 MBs advertised are shared between all three internal radios. It will NOT give you any faster connections if you already own a decent 5G AC-capable router.
It can however provide you with mode bandwidth since it effectively has two independent 5G radios - 5-1 and 5-2.
5G performance for this modem is pretty the same as what I had with AC87U. Both signal strength and speed.
However, now I can distribute devices between two radios instead of one which potentially guarantees better stability for those connections. Once again - I was unable to ever exceed even single 5G radio capabilities in AC87U so GT-AC5300 which essentially doubles it should never reach its hardware limits.
I an NOT using any advanced QoS, Family or bandwidth management features since ASUS basically got that part of their firmware provided by Trend Micro which openly tells you that they reserve the right to intercept and forward ANY of your private information to their server at their own discretion and SELL your private usage information to whoever they wish. Really? LOL.
And if you are a big fan of ASUS Merlin firmware (which I am) you may forget about it using any ROG series routers since they are NOT supported by Merlin and will never be supported in the future.
