The Most Productive People in History: 18 Extraordinarily Prolific Inventors, Artists, and Entrepreneurs, from Archimedes to Elon Musk
The Most Productive People in History: 18 Extraordinarily Prolific Inventors, Artists, and Entrepreneurs, from Archimedes to Elon Musk
Although this book of interesting facts reads a bit like an encyclopedia I think, in fairness, it would have been challenging to write it in any other way than devoting a chapter to each person. The choice of 18 inventors, artists and entrepreneurs through the ages is daunting and would probably vary greatly depending on one’s own idea of which productive people most influenced our world.
The author includes Archimedes, Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Elon Musk (fascinating stuff), Leonardo da Vinci, Georg Phillip Telemann, Richard Francis Burton, Isaac Asimov, Julius Caesar, Justinian the Great, Philip II of Spain, Napoleon Bonaparte, Theodore Roosevelt, Ibn Sina, Thomas Aquinas, Charles Spurgeon. Oh, and one woman, Saint Catherine of Siena.
I was floored on this point, honestly, which cost the book dearly in stars. What about Marie Curie, Ann Tsukamoto, Grace Hopper, to name just a very few. Perhaps even Rosalind Franklin, the British biophysicist who captured the first photographic image of the DNA double helix, giving rise to modern molecular biology (she, unfortunately, died at age 37, before she could receive it, amidst speculation that colleagues Watson and Crick walked off with her Nobel prize, although they retrospectively acknowledged their debt to her)? Not only were these women productive in the extreme; they contributed to humankind in spectacular ways. My rating is thus 2.5 stars.
Burt Rutan: Aeronautical and Space Legend
Burt Rutan: Aeronautical and Space Legend
Burt Rutan is one of my modern heroes, and I have read a number of books and articles about him. Daniel Alef's work is one of the best I have read. It flows smoothly from Burt Rutan's early life up to the present, and it captures all the details and highlights without bogging-down on every single aircraft ever designed.

Yet this book isn't just a biography of Burt Rutan. It's also a fantastic business text. In addition to my day job developing and licensing university intellectual property, I'm an entrepreneur after hours. There are numerous examples and tidbits of Burt's business acumen and strategy.

I would love to meet with Burt to talk about science, engineering, design and business, but short of an actual meeting, this book is the next best thing.

Planet Waves
Planet Waves
Early 1974's "Planet Waves" was the bridging album between the folky/country material of the late sixties/early seventies and the acoustic-driven rock poetry that was "Blood On The Tracks". It is also as emotionally complex as that album too, no lightweight country pie on here. It is an album that grows on you with each listen, as I listen to it now, I am thinking that the album is better than I had previously thought. The sound is excellent, by the way, unlike the rather harsh sounding "New Morning".

TRACK LISTING

1. On A Night Like This
2. Going. Going, Gone
3. Tough Mama
4. Hazel
5. Something There Is About You
6. Forever Young
7. Forever Young (fast version)
8. Dirge
9. You Angel You
10. Never Say Goodbye
11. Wedding Song

"On A Night Like This" is an energetic, swirling throwback to the days of 1966, with The Band on top form backing Dylan once again and his delivery enthusiastically upbeat. A beautiful, melodic, deep bass underpins the gorgeous "Going, Going, Gone". This is definitely a precursor to "Blood On The Tracks". It is a dignified, sombre track with a great sound to the backing on it. Robbie Robertson comes up with one hell of a guitar solo to finish the track. "Tough Mama" is a "Basement Tapes"-style bluesy romp, with Garth Hudson's organ blowing and circling around all over the place, like an idiot wind. "Hazel" with her "dirty blonde hair" is a love song from Dylan to another mercurial woman and most entrancing it is too. There are very slight shades of 1983's "Licence To Kill" in there somewhere, just before the "touch of your love" part. Dylan delivers a delicious harmonica too.

"Something There Is About You" has Dylan being nostalgic about the "old Duluth" of his youth. This is harmonica-driven blues rock song that wouldn't have sounded out of place on either "Blood On The Tracks" or, indeed, "Desire". Tracks like this remind one that Dylan hadn't really laid down anything this powerful since "John Wesley Harding" and possibly "Blonde On Blonde". Forget all that country twanging and folk odes, this was proper Dylan.

Talking of proper Dylan. "Forever Young" is next. Uplifting inspiring, heartbreaking. One of my favourite Dylan songs of all time. It never fails to get me all emotional. Superb. I remember seeing Dylan in concert with Mark Knopfler at the Hammersmith Odeon a few years back and Knopfler sang this as the encore, with Dylan sitting regally behind the keyboards. Mark turned to him to deliver the line "may your song always be sung" and the great man, just nodded, like The Queen waving to her subjects. A priceless moment. The faster version of the same song that comes next doesn't do it for me. The slow version is the definitive one, in my opinion. This slightly rockabilly version of it deprives of of its soul, its emotion. It should have stayed on the cutting room floor, maybe replaced by "Nobody 'Cept You".

Only Dylan could title his own song "Dirge". Here he is backed by Robertson, while he plays piano. It is a stark, emotions bared song that, at the time people presumed was about his marriage. Robertson's guitar is sumptuous and while the song is stark and bleak, it is no dirge. Listening to it, you realise "Blood On The Tracks" is on the way. "You Angel You" is a Band-style mid-tempo rocker. "If this is love give me more, more, more" pleads Dylan over another magnificent organ break. "Never Say Goodbye" starts with some searing guitar and is a beguiling, romantic slow burner, once again, it is very Band-like. It is so good to have Dylan back, listening to this. We had missed him. "Wedding Song" is a stark, acoustic guitar and harmonica love song that is in the "Blood On The Tracks" style.

There is no question that this is, by far, Bob Dylan's finest album since "John Wesley Harding". He was now entering a four year halcyon period, the third great one of his career.
Bob Dylan - The Little Black Songbook: Revised & Expanded Edition
Bob Dylan - The Little Black Songbook: Revised & Expanded Edition
There are unfortunately some glaring omissions in this book, some key Dylan songs are not included, like With God On Our Side, Tombstone Blues, Buckets of Rain, Highway 61 Revisited, It takes a lot to laugh it takes a train to cry, Highway 51 Blues, Pretty Peggy-O, Baby let me follow you down. Instead, a bunch of throw away outtakes and filler material have been included. The author made a poor selection, and I can't give it more than 2 stars.

Crestware 40-Inch Pizza Oven Brush
used this half a dozen times now in a 4 deck oven. the blade is great for removing cheese from calzones or strombolis that may ooze cheese onto the stone while cooking. the brush works as expected and the thick handle is comfortable. the thread cap is machine pressed onto the handle and it wobbles slightly but makes a solid connection to the brush itself. time will tell when it comes to the overall quality of this item but I feel this was a worthwhile purchase. I did find this item for cheaper elsewhere on the web however.
Nora Roberts Stars of Mithra Series: Hidden Star, Captive Star and Secret Star
Nora Roberts Stars of Mithra Series: Hidden Star, Captive Star and Secret Star
Nora has done it again! And by that I mean, tricked me into buying a book that I thought (and it says in the description) had a publication date of 2013. And maybe that's just the box-set publication, but when I open the individual books they show an original publication date of 1997. Aha, I thought so. Nobody has a cell phone and if they need to look something up on the internet they have to "boot up" the computer. I'm a long-time reader of Nora and I do really love her style; nobody can create a character like her. But some of these earlier books definitely have a dated feel and sometimes the interaction between the m/f protagonists is old-fashioned. Like the woman can be spunky and independent, but ultimately has to give in to the man, and sometimes the sex is physically rough and though Nora is careful to write that the woman wants it and the guy is always sorry after, it inexplicably brings them to a better, more meaningful place in the relationship. I don't know what I'm trying to say here, I'm not a hyper-feminist, but I guess my general awakening to subliminal messages in books and media regarding gender roles has sensitized me and I'm slightly uncomfortable during these chapters but I don't know why... Hrrmmm. Anyway, quick, fun read, I do very much like the story, tho it is fairly predictable. If you are familiar with Nora's trilogies and like them, you won't be disappointed.
Alexander Pushkin: Complete Prose Fiction
Alexander Pushkin: Complete Prose Fiction
What makes this book so beautiful is that word "Complete". In one handy reference you can enjoy all of Pushkin's prose. Mr. Debreczeny's translation of Pushkin's work is hearty. I believe it's nearly as close as we can come to feeling the work outside of really knowing Russian.
That would be amazing for me: to know Russian and read Pushkin in the language that he raised high in the face of the patrician encroachment of French that had relegated Russian to servant status. Each language must have a unique and valuable propriety in it's innermost meanings, and in reading this work (plus knowing something of Russian culture), I believe you can feel that unique Russian "thing" even through this translation.
You have about fifteen pieces plus Pushkin's own pre-work/research and some fragments. Mr. Debreczeny has arranged them such that you walk through the development of Pushkin as a prose writer. Early on, he did have quite a disdain for prose in comparison to poetry. To paraphrase Debreczeny, Pushkin's first serious writing treated prose as a necessary evil, writing with technical correctness but approaching parody of itself with strict adherence to the concept of prose as a sterile, low medium for expression.
I the later works, you will see the layering of complex themes and characters into prose that for me felt like driving a standard shift with power-assisted steering -- You get just enough resistance to feel the road and keep you engaged and thinking. Also, you just plain enjoy the ride.
Mr. Debreczeny is an excellent guide in his commentary and in his translation.
Dragon Ball, Vol. 10: Return To The Tournament (Dragon Ball: Shonen Jump Graphic Novel)
Dragon Ball, Vol. 10: Return To The Tournament (Dragon Ball: Shonen Jump Graphic Novel)
10 volumes in and, if I didn’t know better, I’d say Dragon Ball is starting to feel alarmingly repetitive. Reich Pilaf returns to make another ham-fisted attempt at stealing the Dragon Balls from Goku, Shenlong the Dragon God appears for the second time to grant a wish, the Dragon Balls scatter again, and then it’s time for another Strongest Under the Heavens tournament!

Is this all Dragon Ball is, or are we going to get any variations on the winning formula before Dragon Ball Z? I think I’ve answered my own question with “winning formula” because why fix something if it ain’t broke? And, even though I’d kind of like to go after Akira Toriyama for double-dipping, the Strongest Under the Heavens tournament was the best part of the series so far, and, despite returning to it again, it’s still awesome with a new set of fighters. Because, really, what else do you need in a martial arts comic?

I liked that Upa’s dad came back from the dead and, this not being a Stephen King novel, he didn’t come back as a zombie or anything and resumed life as if he’d only been sleeping in a grave. And I liked that Goku was smart enough to grab his grandpa’s Dragon Ball before they scattered so he wouldn’t have to go on another Dragon Ball quest to get it back.

I was surprised that Goku’s training was skipped entirely. From one page to the next, 3 years conveniently pass and then the gang are reunited for the tournament (which comes around every 3 years). I would’ve liked to have seen Goku’s adventures rather than another Strongest Under the Heavens tournament, especially as he’s in the crucial stages of becoming a better fighter. But maybe that 3 year gap is to be explored in later volumes or maybe Toriyama left himself some space for if he ever wanted to go back and do some more kid Son Goku adventures?

The Turtle Master is given a rival in the Crane Master because this time around it’s not about Goku fighting Jackie Chun (aka the Turtle Master in disguise) but about giving him a different narrative: the good guys (Turtles) against the bad guys (Cranes). The Crane Master’s even revealed to be the brother of that psycho assassin Taopaipai who died fighting Goku a couple books ago!

So even if I was wary going in, “here we go again”, once it got going, it was still super-exciting and fun. Goku, Kuririn, Yamcha, and Jackie Chun go up against a couple of disposable baddies and the evil Crane Master’s students, Tenshinhan (who has a third eye in his forehead), and Chaozu (who looks like a living doll with psychic powers). As always, Toriyama does action superbly and the first fights between Yamcha and Tenshinhan, and Jackie Chun and Man-Wolf are brilliant. This volume ends in the middle of Kuririn and Chaozu’s fight so make sure you’ve got the next volume to hand so you don’t miss a beat!

Toriyama takes us back to the Strongest Under the Heavens tournament once again with a few notable tweaks in the form of new characters, yet still manages to pull off a highly entertaining volume. That said, I’m hoping he tries some different plotlines in the remaining six volumes.

Wildfire and The Heritage of the Desert: Two Complete Novels
Wildfire and The Heritage of the Desert: Two Complete Novels
Incorporated in this double volume are the first true "western" Zane Grey wrote, The Heritage of the Desert, and the book that did for horses what Jack London did for dogs, Wildfire. Both are excellent reads by the author who defined what a "western" is, or at least what the public at the time, and still today think of when they think "western". The Heritage of the Desert is my personal favorite even surpassing Riders of the Purple Sage which was the next novel Zane Grey wrote. In this book Zane Grey is favorable to the Mormons and many of the lead characters are patterned after men he met during his first extended trip out west with Buffalo Jones in 1907. It is classic story telling with all the things a person expects to find in a "western". Wildfire gives the reader a glimpse into Monument Valley, a place later to become one of the most recognizable landscapes used in the movies, especially by director John Ford. Here amongst this background a wild and free spirited girl meets a catcher and breaker of wild horses, and the thrilling conclusion set in a death race between horse and a raging wild fire is yet to be topped by any writer. These two books have everything Zane Grey is known for--beautiful descriptions of landscape, fascinating characters, and animals that you come to love. A great addition to any Zane Grey library of books.
Flying Ga ... Ku [Japanese Edition] (Volume # 1)
Flying Ga ... Ku [Japanese Edition] (Volume # 1)

Hot Zone: A Suspenseful Story in Wild Wyoming (Ballistic Cowboys Book 1713)
Hot Zone: A Suspenseful Story in Wild Wyoming (Ballistic Cowboys Book 1713)
I'm really trying to like this series, but every book is the same. The heroine needs a bodyguard and the hero is an elite military soldier on loan to Homeland Security in a small town to find suspected terrorists.

Trace "Hawkeye" Walsh is the soldier in this book. While out at the site of the murder in the last book, he comes across someone he needs to look into further. A chase on four-wheelers ensues.

Olivia Dawson returns home to bury her father, supposedly who died from an accident. Considering her father was an excellent horseman, she can't believe his falling off a horse and dying is really what happened. While talking about it with the ranch foreman, they're in an accident when a four-wheeler comes out of no where and they hit a tree to avert a crash with it.

Hawkeye rescues Olivia and her foreman from the crashed ranch truck. OF course Olivia suspects he's the reason for the crash when she sees the four-wheeler. Yet, when she's with law enforcement, she doesn't bring up these suspicions? If someone runs you off the road, wouldn't you report it? Guess not. Hawkeye figures out why she's angry with him and finally tells her he was chasing the four-wheeler that ran them off the road. Lo and behold, Olivia now needs a bodyguard. Lo and behold, of all the soldiers loaned out to this temporary assignment, Hawkeye is the only one around to do it.

This book also has characters hard to keep up with. Olivia refers to him as Hawkeye, a problem I've had with the entire series. The women in their lives should not be calling them by their military nicknames. It indicates a lack of intimacy to me.

He rescues her one final time, but doesn't really lead the series story anywhere. With one final book in the series to go, looping in all these characters is going to be a challenge.

I'm hopeful Elle James can bring to closure all these couples at the end of the final book. Each ending seemed all over the place. Soldiers determined to return to their units seems conflicted.

I wasn't expecting realism in this book since the first two didn't. Looks like it will all rest on the shoulders of "T-Rex" in the final book to close this out.
Saving Stacey (Florida Veterans Book 2)
Saving Stacey (Florida Veterans Book 2)
Stacey is running from a violent ex husband and Hudson is the guy who has a soft spot for a damsel in distress. Still dealing with a drug addict ex wife Hudson feels he should know better than to get involved with women but something about Stacey calls to him.

i didn't feel I really got to know the characters at all. They didn't overly share anything. Just the main chunks to make the story move forward. The sex scenes would have been better if a connection had been made with the characters. The plot line would have been great if there was more added depth to it and more character development. The final climax to the story was fairly underwhelming. We knew absolutely nothing about Stacey's ex husband, in fact he hardly featured in the story at all. To then bring him and Hudons ex wife's story together just really didn't work for me at all.

I'm sorry I can't recommend but I didn't finish reading with the sense of satisfaction that I get with others.
Bleach, Vol. 3
Bleach, Vol. 3
This volume of Bleach follows Ichigo as he remembers his mother and the circumstances behind her death. Eventually, a hollow shows up to wreck Ichigo's day of mourning, yet this hollow seems to have a direct connection to Ichigo's mother's death, and this is one connection Ichigo can't forgive. Along the way, we are introduced to Kon, the teddy bear body of the mod soul introduced in the previous volume. And Orihime and Tatsuki, Ichigo's classmates, discuss the events surrounding Ichigo's mother's death.

Most of this volume is back story and the fighting of the same creature, so it lost a little of the speed that was introduced in the first volume. But this was one of those inevitable slow-downs, as the events in this volume are important in making the characters more lovable, especially Ichigo. Seeing him as a cry-baby youngster and seeing the change that happened because of his mother's death really solidifies his tough-guy attitude, which is really a defense mechanism to keep people away from him and out of danger. This will become obvious to you once you read this volume (and I assure you, this isn't a spoiler as none of this is mentioned).

Still, even though this volume slowed a bit I still have to recommend it, mainly because of the ending cliff-hanger, as it appears to introduce a true antagonistic force. Plus, the art is still the same and comedy, when it's there, is enough to smile at, even if most of it is unoriginal.

Wild Justice
Wild Justice
I have read all Wilbur Smith's books. And I mean ALL OF THEM.
This book was, however, disappointing.
The story has some good ideas, but it becomes extremely gruesome and violent at a stage, to the point where I felt physically nauseous. This book is the sequel to Those in Peril, which I enjoyed immensely as it was relevant to pirates off the coast of East Africa at the time when the book was released, and even the violence in Those in Peril seemed appropriate and realistic given the area and characters in that book (Those in Peril).

I was quite disturbed by a certain part of this book (Wild Justice) where humans are fed to man eating pigs. Then I recently watched the 2001 movie "Hannibal' (about Hannibal Lecter) (and I saw this movie after I read WIld Justice) and it is my opinion that that the idea about pigs eating humans was taken from this movie which disappointed me as it seems a bit unoriginal...

Wilbur Smith has written truly great books, such as the Courtney and Ballantyne series which are quite old by now, but still excellent reads. I actually read these series every 5-10 years again because I enjoy them so much.

I will, however, not read this book again, and I don't recommend it. It is almost out of character for Wilbur Smith. I can't believe he wrote this book. I only finished it because it is a Wilbur Smith book and I was expecting it to become better as I was reading, but sadly not. :(
Hallmark Keepsake Harry Potter Ornament, Hagrid Storytellers With Light and Sound
Hallmark Keepsake Harry Potter Ornament, Hagrid Storytellers With Light and Sound
Nice Hallmark HP interactive ornament. It is sort of big, but not too heavy for my HP tree. The details are better than all of the other HP characters I own. This is definitely a standout one in comparison to the other HP interactive character ornaments. I would say this Hagrid HP ornament was worth the money just off of the strength that the details on it is phenomenal and clean looking, no paint errors. The box looked like it was put through a hot mess in some spots for this to be a brand new product, but I am keeping it. Supposedly it's the last HP interactive ornament Hallmark is making from the HP line, plus I can tell the ornament is brand new. FYI It is well protected in a semi-hard plastic inside the box.

Ayesha Curry Home Collection Stainless Steel Nonstick Frying Pan / Fry Pan / Skillet - 12.5 Inch, Silver
Ayesha Curry Home Collection Stainless Steel Nonstick Frying Pan / Fry Pan / Skillet - 12.5 Inch, Silver
I searched all over for a set of pans and went back and forth over a good set of non-stick versus stainless steel pans. I ultimately went with this non-stick set because of the price ($40/set versus $100+ for a good set of stainless) and the good reviews found here.

The finish of the product is good and the surface coating seems to be pretty durable but I only use silicon, wood or plastic utensils as to not scratch it. I noticed that the pan heats up quickly and retains heat a lot longer than my previous pans. While it is a great thing, the ONLY downside of this pan is that heat then transfers to the handle. After ~15mins of cooking, the handle is uncomfortably hot.

If I can make a recommendation to the manufacturer, these pans could great benefit from having an additional two inches added to the handle. This would allow more material to absorb heat before it is difficult to handle the pan. I think with that added, this would be a 5 star product!

Bought this little guy along with about 10 other Christmas funko’s.

This is one of the few that came with a defect. The eyes have what look like dried glue on them. Was buying for the sake of collecting. This condition is unacceptable for a product like this.

Waterproof Case for Apple Watch,IP68 Waterproof Dust-Proof Shockproof Case with Watchband for Apple Watch Black (38mm Apple Watch Waterproof Case)
When I first took it out of the box I thought they sent me the wrong size because it seemed so huge compared to the size of my watch. It’s just huge but it the right one for my 40mm. I have a series 5 and it works fine even tho it says series 4. I can not attest for its extra abilities under water but I have watered and played in the garden and washed my face several times with it on and it worked just fine. The screen protector is thin and does not effect to use of the watch. It takes some getting use to because of its size but the ease of mind not worrying about it getting wet and knocking it around is worth it to me. I also kind of like that it doesn’t really look like an Apple Watch any more just a really industrial sports watch. I wish it came in colors or I could change the straps for colored ones to just add some fun but love the function and ease of instal!
The 101 Best Freshwater Nano Species: How to Choose & Keep Hardy, Brilliant, Fascinating Nano Fishes, Plants & Invertebrates (Adventurous Aquarist Guide™)
The 101 Best Freshwater Nano Species: How to Choose & Keep Hardy, Brilliant, Fascinating Nano Fishes, Plants & Invertebrates (Adventurous Aquarist Guide™)
This is a great book on the topic of having a nano tank. I'd been out of fish-keeping for a number of years and so, when I dug up my old 10 gallon I was surprised to see that it is now classified as "nano." That used to be the size the average person had for an aquarium. But, times have changed. Nano tanks are anything up to and including 20 gallons.

So, I picked up this book, more or less after I'd already decided on how to stock my 10 gallon. But, as I also had this great old terrarium glass container of about 4 to 5 gallons, I wanted to see what I could do w/that as an aquarium and how to stock it (I'd gotten that up and running while I was cleaning out the old calcified tank".

The book is divided into sections:

--The nano-system about set-up and aquascaping for the most part.
--Model nano communities, samples of what the author(s) feel(s) would be good stocking setups, including plants
--The bulk of the book is considered a field guide with a picture of the fish, an overview, native range, max size (VERY important for small tanks), min. aquarium size (recommended by author), water parameters, feeding, and behavior & care.
--Section on plants that remain small w/ above info
--Section on invertebrates also w/above info

This didn't include the Bloodfin Tetras I'd chosen,or the Albino Corydoras, but it did include the White Cloud Mountain Minnows and several other Corys and of course tetras along with the other of the 101 species.

The field guide has color coding on the edge of the page so you see what size aquarium is recommended, 5, 10, and 15 are the choices the author fits the fish into.

I did feel that most of the fish in the book were schooling fish and most of those were recommended at having 8-10 of the species being discussed. While I'm sure I'd forgotten more about fish-keeping than I remembered, I figure there have to be a few more species ok for a "nano" tank? I mean that would take up the stocking for the 10 gallon right there!

But, as a guideline, this book is great! If you're lucky enough to have a great LFS than you will have people you can ask specific questions. I've picked out several from the book and then go in and ask and they say yay or nay, depending upon things they've learned, i.e., temperature range may not be as important as consistent temperature. So, for my unheated tanks, even though the fish in the book recommend 76-80 degrees for example and mine stay at 75 in summer and 70 in winter, that may be ok for some species.

In any case, this is an excellent book and I have referred to it often. I believe they have several others in the series (saltwater and non-nano being the 2 I remember, there may be a 3rd or 4th). Also, price at Amazon was $5 cheaper than at Petco, where I originally saw the book.

UPDATE
I've had this with me on several occasions at my LFS (and this is a great local store not a big box one) and one of the managers liked it so much she ordered it for the store!

ALSO, the old thought of an inch per fish doesn't really apply all the time. So, my comment above about being discouraged re the 8-10 schooling fish tank size needed, is a bit out dated. Although many will balk at this of course. I now have 6 nano tanks up and running and getting a 7th ready. I have 1 or 2 that can be used as quarantine. So, right now one of the 10 Gals is quarantining 2 new Bloodfins along with an Amano Shrimp. The other 10 gal is Bloodfins, waiting to add the new to the school as I lost 2 to fish TB. 5.5 gal currently waiting to trade with the 10 as quarantine for 8 Ember Tetras and 2 Sparkling Gouramis. One 2.5 Gal with a Betta. One 2.5 with 6 Chili Rasboras and 6 Dwarf Salt and Pepper Corydoras. A 4 gal Red Cherry Shrimp tank with a small shrimp colony and 6 Chili Rasboras. The parameters in ALL of the tanks are very nearly perfect. They are not overstocked and most of the fish are all VERY NANO. This book is a TREMENDOUS help in stocking! Thank you thank you thank you Ms Jinxed and co.

The Power of Collaborative Solutions: Six Principles and Effective Tools for Building Healthy Communities
Book Review:
The Power of Collaborative Solutions by Tom Wolff
The book The Power of Collaborative Solutions proves once again that Tom Wolff is one of the preeminent voices in the country today, on building healthy communities through collaboration. As the Director of the Santa Barbara Pro-Youth Coalition (PYC), I witnessed Tom's unique ability to empower all segments of our community to identify and solve our seemingly most complex social and community issues through collaboration.
Tom's sincere, informed and humble manner and his vast hands-on experience with communities across the nation, at once inspired a close to unbelievable trust among the parents and youth that PYC sought to serve. Almost ten years later and some of these youth are parents themselves - they still ask about Mr. Wolff.
Anyone who is seriously seeking solutions to whatever community issues face them must read this book. Tom does not just identify problems - Tom offers practical, attainable solutions which are still vital to today's pressing community issues.

Great quality materials and very well made. The canvas used to make these bags is thick and heavy weight the color is even and beautiful there's a top zipper for the large main compartment and a zipper on the small interior pocket both zippers are smooth, strong and also very well made. We got these for a hospital stay my wife was having to prepare for and they worked perfect they are a great size for a overnight bag or in her case a several night stay but they are also the perfect size for a day at the beach or lake. After the initial use she repacked two of the bags right away one as a bag for our 18 month old Granddaughter's cloth's and small toys to take when we take her out and one as a emergency overnight bag to take when we go fishing out of town and they are great fro both uses. We use two of these bags as replacements for two bags we keep packed and at the ready and we kept the third free to use if and when any type of emergency comes up. We got the Red and the color is crisp, clean, bright and easy to find the overall quality of these is excellent. We have already recommended these to family and friends and have had a couple family members

I happened to see this by renting it because the plotline sounded interesting. Although I didn't expect a hit because it is considered a B movie, I loved it. Personally I enjoy action movies with a mixed group of people that need to pitch in together to fight off a common foe. In this case a crazed biker gang. A hodge podge of people board a bus in Texas not realizing several will die getting to their destination. The bus is attacked by some bikers. The events that follow cause the bikers to decide to trail the bus for kicks because they are so doped up they really don't care about anything or anybody. As we know fast moving buses don't always stay on the road so the rag tag group must seek shelter in a junkyard to avoid the attack of the killer bikers. I don't expect this movie to earn critical acclaim, but the average action thriller fan won't be disappointed.

Fred Ward isn't on the bus but is a military officer after an AWOL soldier that is on the bus. Ward doesn't have as large a part as the other notable actors but every scene you see him in you wished they used him more. The key roles are the bus passengers and they are all excellent in their parts. Although the overall storyline isn't new, we have all seen bikers attack families, other gangs, et cetera, but what they do with their little group is great. I never quite knew what to expect and when each passengers talent comes to light you should be entertained with how it is done. I have to say I enjoyed this as much as
2020 Collector Car Price Guide
2020 Collector Car Price Guide
This book, and earlier editions of it, have helped me in purchasing several "antique" cars. One has to really understand the rating system to use it properly but, in general, the rating system is described pretty well.
The book, current and past, have also kept me from purchasing overpriced cars - thankfully.
I have been using this guide for a good 20 years.

I like this charger a lot but with a few reservations. Note that I don't use the buds (yet) and have not attempted to charge any yet
The good;
It looks really nice and has a soft feel finish.
Its fairly compact and fits well on my nightstand.
Nice strip light runs along the base that shows the charging status and adds a nice cosmetic touch.
My iPhone X fits perfectly. The bottom sits on a rubber non-slip strip that keeps it in place.
My Apple Watch 4 clings well to the magnetic charger.
Both phone and watch charge at about normal speeds.

Not so good.
This is really not suitable for travel due to the shape. It fits well on a night stand and looks very nice, but in todays travel environment where airlines charge premium prices to check luggage, many folks travel lighter and this would be good if it folded but it doesn't so I don't really think its suitable unless you plant to check in a larger bag.
Also, the Apple Watch charger is not included. This was quite a disappointment and had to use a spare. The space provided for the charging wire is quite cramped and the wire barely fit.

Still, taking everything into account, I really like this for the night-stand use. and as long as you are not traveling, and have an extra Apple Watch charging cable handy, I recommend this...

I use to love this magazine but I'm not sure whats going on with it recently. There are so many ads (like usual for a magazine) but really I feel like they have increased the number of ads and decreased the number of interesting articles. Once in a while I like a article but the print or pictures are so small (in my 30's so no I'm not old with failing eyesight) and I feel like they cut the article short and put tons of ads in its place. I also am not personally that interested in the pages and pages of recipes. I want to see the homes, I want to get ideas, I want to see if I can achieve that...but I don't feel like that anymore. Also I am really, really disappointed lately with the with the "I did it" section (use to be the last page of mag but now put it in the middle). There use to be really cool diy stuff now it's "I put a desk out and some holders from ikea wow look what i did"...not impressive anymore. There are cooler things you can find on Pinterest. Sorry not resubscribing.

ASURION 3 Year Electronics Protection Plan with Tech Support $40-49.99
The camera I bought was working wonderfully and I do mean wonderful great picture quality then all of the sudden it atemy $40 micro SD card. 1st I call Amazon he didn't realize that I had purchased the warranty but he didn't seem to care that the thing 8 my memory card either that was $40 he just was going to exchange it well I'm sorry it shouldn't eat my memory card the card was installed properly and it ate it it it's like they left too much wiggle Room in the thing and it slips when I called the warranty company they didn't seem to care either that it was costing me money out of pockets because of the flaw of their design Son I am stuck with a camera that is useless for when I go out driving for Uber and the reason I bought in the 1st place is because a man backed into me at a stop sign instead of going forward he put his car in reverse and hit me son I have no camera I won't get my SD card back and I'm not very happy at all about this whole situation. eats memory cards So if you don't need to use a memory card and recording while you're driving around to make sure that someone doesn't hit you. So if it's eats your memory card.and doesn't record basically you have a decoration in your car that is useless in the case that someone hits you. I would love to hear back from Amazon about this one
Massage Gun Deep Tissue Muscle Massager, Vigorun Powerful Handheld Percussion Massager, 20 Speed Levels, 8 Massage Heads, LCD Touch Display Quiet Brushless Motor, Muscle Pain Relief in Gym Office Home
Massage Gun Deep Tissue Muscle Massager, Vigorun Powerful Handheld Percussion Massager, 20 Speed Levels, 8 Massage Heads, LCD Touch Display Quiet Brushless Motor, Muscle Pain Relief in Gym Office Home
If you're assuming the massage functions on this massage gun are weak, don't. There are 20 different speeds you can set the massage gun to and even speed 1 is kind of intense. 20 is too uncomfortable for me personally and I don't see myself using this at anything above a 10-11.

The massage gun comes in a sturdy, zipped carrying case that has an attached handle. Inside are different compartments for the gun, charger, and attachment heads. There is also a stretchy mesh pocket that contains the user manual and an additional bag of attachment heads (8 attachments total). The touch screen display shows the battery life with a ranking of 10 (fully charged) to 1 (in need of a charge), as well as a plus/minus buttons that allow you to change the massage speed (1-20).

Pros: Lots of varied massage speeds, can be adjusted to your liking
A ton of different attachments
Comes with a charger
Nice carrying case with a spot for everything so nothing will be sliding around
Compact, easy to store away when not in use
LED light around the bottom indicates when in need of a charge
Simple touchscreen display looks nice and is easy to use
Easy to swap to different attachments

Cons: Slightly heavy, would possibly get tiring after extended use on shoulder or back
Intense massage settings, even at setting 1
No guide as to what the different attachments are for, you kind of have to experiment yourself or look them up online

Overall I really like this product and it feels high-end with the touchscreen display and all of the attachments. The weight of it isn't a problem for me personally as I don't see myself using it for extended periods of time. Once you play around with the different speeds and attachments you'll be able to find what works for you, but there will probably be a few attachments and speeds that you find are too intense.

Elechomes P1801 Air Purifiers for Large Room Bedroom Home Allergies and Pets Hair Smokers, True H13 HEPA Filter with 4 Stage Filtration, 22dB Quiet Air Purifier Cleaner Odor Eliminators for 269 sq.ft Room
I was skeptical about if an air purifier really works and makes a difference. After having the Elechomes P1081 for a little over a week all I can say is it really does improve the air quality. We have two large dogs that shed a lot and it helps with the dander also I have noticed that I am not as stuffy when I wake up in the morning. We bought the Elechomes P1081 with the idea to see if air purifiers are worth it and if so we would buy a large one, but after using this one and being happy with it we will just buy one for every room in the house because it has worked out well for us and its really quite. I now enjoy waking up without itchy eyes and a stuffy nose, a must have for a babies or kids room. This has been a good buy.

Green Lantern: Blackest Night
Green Lantern: Blackest Night
I read all the reviews prior to embarking on this epic read reading Blackest Night (BN) and Blackest Night Green Lantern (GL43-52) simultaneously in the order they were published: basically BN0-BN6 switching back and forth with GL43-49 followed by GL50-51, BN7, GL 52 and finally concluding in BN8. Does it help that much understanding this story? Not that much with the exception BN8 wraps things up and is the bridge to Brightest Day. You could read these 2 graphic novels independently and remain just as confused. It does help to read the books prior to this especially the 2 preludes to Blackest Night which are Rage of the Red Lanterns (red power of rage) and Agent Orange (Orange power of Avarice), less so on the endless Sinestro Corps (the yellow power of fear).

I give the art work 5 stars and the story 3 stars. The story is very very long if we go back to the various preludes such as Rebirth and Fear leading to Sinestro Corps with endless battles, endless flashbacks, annoying redundancies. It is a classic battle of evil (black, death) and good (white, life). It's uniqueness is to be found in the use of different colored lantern corps with assigned emotions or attributes. Only through the combination of these colors and powers/emotions/attributes does light (absence of color) emerge victorious, the exact opposite you would expect, since all colors combined really equal blackness. This quasi-philosophical graphical novel is entertaining but drags and we learn that chaotic and emotional life is better than a boring universe which is at peace through the blackness of death. So now we wait for Brightest Day for the conclusion.
