The Warren Buffett Shareholder: Stories from Inside the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
The Warren Buffett Shareholder: Stories from Inside the Berkshire Hathaway Annual Meeting
I have gone to the meeting for the past 5 years, but missed this one. After getting over my initial FOMO, I was delighted to find out that this book would arrive just in time for me to enjoy while I watched the webcast of the meeting.

And then I REALLY had FOMO.

Cunningham/Cuba do a phenomenal job of curating and arranging these perspectives to imitate the environment of the meeting and surrounding weekend events, and will really make it feel like you're there. If you don't go, you'll really wish to be a part of the events/networking/ethos.

One thing that I was very impressed with was a constant theme of humility. These are accounts from some of the most studied scholars and biggest names in investing and finance, and there was a constant sense of respect and lifelong learning. In Cunningham's forward, he speaks about "coaching" the essayists not to use the regular tropes-- "woodstock of capitalism," etc-- Cunningham's guidance REALLY made the difference when it came to these essays. I was afraid they would get repetitive, especially having been to Omaha a couple of times myself, but no, each essay was extremely enthralling to the very end.
Power Habits: 50 Habits to Model from the Rich and Famous to Become Successful Immediately
Power Habits: 50 Habits to Model from the Rich and Famous to Become Successful Immediately
“The worst thing is living without a passion. Think of life where you wake up daily full of motivation and energized by what is ahead of you. Does this in any way reflect your life right now?”

We all desire power and success, however many of us lack the ability to do more than dream. There are secrets to attain and Primo has given us the ultimate guide to those secrets. With 50 power habits this is more than a simple charged-up motivational speech. There is real useful information within these pages. I enjoyed reading about how some of the greats have achieved success with their own personal self-challenges and rules. Mark Twain, Benjamin Franklin, Jay Z and Bill Gates to name a few. My favorite was Mark Zuckerberg’s annual challenge to improve himself that has nothing to do with his career. And this is just some of an extensive list of rich and famous that includes all walks of life, which keep their selves challenged and motivated to do more in their lives. I found the book to be very well written, the habits were not overwhelming or difficult, but very doable and allowed for one to create their own inspiration to success. Take your dream of success and power to reality and become, the more you long to be.

I'm a self-taught trader that's been trading for about 3 yrs now. Went through a few dvd's of the "guru's" out there, but I still had so many unanswered questions. For me, I loved everything about this book. It was easily read and answered all my questions, and then some, about the different patterns. Right now, I'm more of a technical trader and this book was exactly what I was looking for. I got a used first edition because of the neg comments about the book construction of the 2nd. My win to loss is not ideal right now, but after reading and studying I feel more confident. I made reference cards that I laminated to help memorize the different patterns. The patterns are not named the same as western patterns. I would find the western name for the patterns if you plan on screening patterns. That's the only thing I can see as a neg. This book was a great buy and addition to my library of books. I highly recommend to anyone trying to find their edge. Forgive me for any mistakes in my comments, but just wanted to give some feedback. I wish you all the best and good luck on your journey. Cheers!
The Game of Life and How to Play It
The Game of Life and How to Play It
Does it work? You betcha, yes!

After beginning only the first chapter, I decided to follow suit on one of the anecdotes the author shares --as an example to the methodology at work here as a means to manifestation. Several pages in she references a time when during one of her daily travels she happened to be walking somewhere and stopped and found herself gazing at a lovely rose tree displayed inside the window of a florist. She wished to receive one, and stated and intended it so, exactly as she teaches in the book, and went about her merry way. A few days later, she was hosting Easter, when she received a pre gathering delivery from one of her guests...the rose tree...turns out the guest actually had requested that Easter lilies be sent, but the florist ~mixed~ the order up, and the author ended up with exactly what she had intended.

Well..having read that, I decided to put that exact suggestion into use, intending that I would receive flowers in the next few days-- figuring Start small, with no actual attachment to the outcome.

This afternoon, my husband called, saying he was hitting the grocery store on the way home, did I want anything? Between the time of the call and his arrival home, I remembered the flowers, and thought to myself, oh good, hopefully he will pick up the standard white roses we often grab to put on the table in our kitchen area, but without my prompting.. In he came with all the bags, and no flowers. I wasn't phased, figured, I'd maintain my intention, and that was that.

A minute or two later he went back out to close the garage door or whatever. I, at this point, was busy going through the mail, so had my back to him. When I happened to turn back around to say something, there in my line of sight were, yes, you already guessed it-- flowers! Not the white roses, but instead an exquisite arrangement of red and white roses mixed in with branches of cherry blossoms, and a lovely assortment of beautiful flowers. I was absolutely and utterly stunned, and still am. I don't know about you, but that was all the proof I could possibly need, and will be continuing my studies with Ms Florence Scovel Shinn, and this book!

I do want to add --- I have been avidly and actively reading quite a few of the prayers in Susan Shumsky's books as well--- they are profound in the depth of their power, and I cannot recommend them enough - Instant Healing and Miracle Prayers are my go to's; I have to give additional credit where it is unquestionably due. The prayers are truly healing in removing a multitude of blocks, fears, and other issues in my life, and I'm now a strict believer and dedicated to reading them aloud at least once daily. Some of those prayers deal with healing our mindsets of lack to not feeling we deserve the highest and best things that God/the Universe/our higher selves/whatever higher power you believe in has to offer. And will offer us if we remember to ask, work on our mindsets in thinking and speaking positively, and trusting that no matter what, the outcome will come about as good, if not better than we could ever have expected (white roses vs gorgeous bouquet), with focus, surrender, and persistence in following the steps ... Start simple, go from there, and you can count on seeing the results in the blink of an eye as I did...

Mike Oldfield - A Life Dedicated To Music
Mike Oldfield - A Life Dedicated To Music
Well, I managed to get to the end of the book and found the appendices, two of which were pretty interesting. As for the main body, no. Oh no. No no no no.

Sporadic snippets of info interspersed with tedious lightweight anecdotes written in a teen fanzine style with little proof-reading so that we end up with irritatingly repeated words which are irritating.

There's also far too much personal opinion & fawning and not enough actual insight, critical comment or detailed biography. Perhaps I was expecting too much.

Here's an example: "...Getting spoilt rotten by British Airways when upgraded into an empty first class cabin on my return from Seoul, I had Amarok pumping full volume into my ears whilst being whisked home over the Siberian plains. The music matched the experience perfectly, the absolute joy captured in the music still managing to raise the hairs on the back of my neck and I'm not embarrassed to say, move me to tears. Absolutely first class!"

Not for me. On the plus side I bought the digital copy not the hardback so it only cost me a few quid.

To paraphrase Marc Chagall describing David Niven's painting "poor, poor words"

This is a great source for the "foundations" of machine work. From measuring instruments to hand tools to heavy machines, it covers the basics, definitions, proper uses, design features etc. Whether just starting machining as a hobby, or a more experienced user looking for explanations for why operations are done a certain way, this is a good, but not exhaustive resource. From a visual standpoint, it was produced on a manual typeset, so some letters are offset slightly, or darker/lighter than others. It is not annoying at all, but a testimony to its era, and I find it interesting.

UPDATE: after allowing some of the coffee roasted with the Nesco roaster to sit for a few weeks in an airtight container (while I enjoyed some different coffee), a funny thing happened that I wasn't expecting and have never experienced before: the coffee got better. Dramatically so. So much so that I really enjoyed it. Maybe this "aging" process is something that frequently occurs but that I've just never read about, but whatever occurred, it ended up taking fantastic.

That earns a swift and well deserved upgrade from 2 stars to 5!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've been slowly getting into home coffee roasting after a friend with a Nesco home roaster let me sample several of the coffee's he's done, which he's purchased on Amazon from Lavanta. A Kenya blend he had was simply outstanding and sold me that home roasting was something I had to try.

Traditionally, I've always liked Sumatra medium/dark roasts. I purchased Sumatra Peaberry as a way to roast something I was already familiar with from many other coffee companies, hopefully to give me a baseline of how Lavanta's coffee measured up.

I started with an air popper (ghetto garage style) after reading many online reviews, tutorials, and opinions on this process. The roasting process was simple and the beans roasted beautifully. I turned off the popper right as 2C started, and immediately cooled them down to stop the roasting process. Waited 24 hours for them to off-gas and then got ready to try it. The beans smelled great. I used my hand-crank burr grinder to grind them for my AeroPress and the grounds smelled great. I made it in the usual manner and they bloomed right up - or even more so than I expected. First sips were decent, but really didn't blow me away. I finished my cup with mixed feelings, but just figured I could adjust the roast for the next batch.

The next day I went to make another cup of coffee with the same fresh roasted Sumatra Peaberry, and I don't know what happened in the beans, but I literally couldn't finish the cup. It tasted very ashy, and almost...sour?

I tried a couple of other batches of roasts and never had the same experience with it tasting "sour", but never achieved anything other than average-at-best 7-Eleven mini mart style coffee. I had about 1/2 pound left and asked my friend with the Nesco roaster to roast up the last of it so that I could at least compare THAT roast against my air popper roast(s). It was marginally better, but not dramatically at all.

What I thought might have been the result of the ghetto air popper roasting process, I think actually was the batch of beans I had. I don't know if it was the Peaberry beans, or if it's their Sumatra blends in general. I'm not going to give up and want to try at least two other roasts before I give up on Lavanta, but for what it's worth, their Sumatra Peaberry isn't ever worth purchasing again if it continues to taste like that.
Sparkling Ice, Grape Raspberry Sparkling Water, with Antioxidants and Vitamins, Zero Sugar, 17 fl oz Bottles (Pack of 12)
Sparkling Ice, Grape Raspberry Sparkling Water, with Antioxidants and Vitamins, Zero Sugar, 17 fl oz Bottles (Pack of 12)
Update March 2019: I have been a regular subscriber of 3 cases a month of Sparkling Ice for a few years. I LOVED the stuff. It was plenty diabetic/keto-friendly with its 3% real juice and it tasted not merelt great, but REALISTIC. Then, sometime in the last year or so, I just stopped wanting to drink it as much. The flavor was no longer exciting. The mock mulled cider I made with it this Christmas fell flat. I thought I’d just lost my taste for it until I saw that another reviewer had noticed that the juice content went from 3% to 1%. I looked at my bottles and all the flavors indeed now say 1% juice.

The company said it was to conform to its zero-sugar claim but I don’t believe it - 3% of 179mL (one serving) would be about 5g of juice, which would contain about half a gram of sugar, which can legally be labeled as 0 grams. They could have replaced the aromatics and maintained the flavor but that would probably have been more expensive than just using real juice.

Now these drinks taste about the same as any other diet soda. The flavors are now flat instead of complex and realistic like they used to be.

I AM CANCELLING MY SUBSCRIPTION FOR ALL THREE CASES PER MONTH. ARE YOU LISTENING, TALKING RAIN INC?

I also intend to complain to Amazon about allowing Sparkling Ice to keep its past high ratings for what is no longer the same product. It is very misleading if reviews don’t all refer to the same thing being reviewed.

Old review: Crisp Apple Sparkling Ice tastes almost exactly like Martinelli's sparkling cider

Being on a carb-restricted diet, one of the things I miss most is the taste of fruit, and especially the intense flavor of fruit juices. To my palate (accustomed as it is to most artificial sweeteners), Crisp Apple Sparkling Ice tastes almost exactly like Martinelli's sparkling cider.

Crisp Apple, Coconut Pineapple, and Pink Grapefruit are in my opinion, the most realistic flavors of Sparkling Ice.

At $1 a bottle, it's not quite cheap but it is an affordable treat.

Update: at Christmastime, I used Crisp Apple as a base for zero-carb mulled “cider.” Lacking proper mulling spices, a Constant Comment tea bag with its cinnamon/orange peel/clove flavoring did the trick nicely. A touch of malic acid restored the tanginess lost from heating the fizz (carbonic acid) out of it.
Bellabeat Leaf Urban Smart Jewelry Health Tracker
Bellabeat Leaf Urban Smart Jewelry Health Tracker
I really wanted to love this. I have waited a few months before writing this review so that I could really live with it before giving my feedback. I was excited when I bought it. I am not a fitness person, so I didn't mind the reviews that criticized the accuracy of the step count etc. I got it because I wanted to monitor (give or take) my overall activity, sleep and stress levels. I also dislike the look of the fitbit. I am a working mom, so not super glamorous, but still wanted something pretty to look at. On paper I thought the bellabeat had everything I wanted.
First, the pros: I like the fact that you can track you sleep, steps, stress and even your meditation. So the idea of it is good. My favorite is the step tracker.
The cons:
1) It is much too big. This is much larger than a standard woman's watch. When I carry my son with my arm on which I wear the bellabeat, he complains that it hurts him because it digs in his sides.
2) The bracelet it comes with is worthless. I started wearing it and it doesn't close completely so it was falling off everywhere. Even when I wasn't doing anything super active. So I had to buy a bracelet on Etsy, with lobster claws and I didn't love it either. Finally I had to have one specially made that makes it look OK, but still not ideal. Finally the specialty bracelets made for it ended up costing me more than the bellabeat itself.
3) The sleep tracker is way off. This was one of the main reasons I got it. I wanted to track my sleep. But I end up having to enter it in manually every day as the tracker does not pick up when I am sleeping - or sometimes picks up that I am sleeping when I am wide awake. I thought I had to enter it manually the first few weeks to get used to my schedule and then it would start to know my habits, but it still doesn't track my sleep properly after wearing it for 3 months straight.
Conclusion, the only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because I think the idea of a "well rounded" fitness tracker for women is really good. I just think they need to make it much smaller so it can really look like jewelry and of course improve the sleep tracker, and bracelet.
Edecoa 2000W Power Inverter 12V DC to 110V AC Power Converter with Remote Controller with USB
Edecoa 2000W Power Inverter 12V DC to 110V AC Power Converter with Remote Controller with USB
When I opened the box, the screen was damaged such that I coudn't read anything, presumably from shipping. But it still powered up, so I tried running my 1500 watt water boiler I use for coffee. I hooked it up to a fully charged marine deep cycle battery that was fairly new. Immediately an alarm started going off, presumably for low input voltage due to the draw. Also the wires to the battery got very hot to the touch. They were a smaller gauge than they should have been. But it did power the water boiler without shutting down. I ended up returning it because the display was cracked. Then I found the iRulu 2000W inverter which came with much thicker gauge wire for the battery, and that thing stayed nice and cool, and powered my water boiler with no alarm. It was also less than half the price of this EDECOA model. Although today I don't see the 2000W iRulu model offered on amazon anymore. That is too bad.
Google - Pixel 3a with 64GB Memory Cell Phone (Unlocked) - Just Black
Google - Pixel 3a with 64GB Memory Cell Phone (Unlocked) - Just Black
I've never spent more than $200 on average for a phone. I paid the price with suspect quality, since I mainly bought new Android phones for that price range. Every phone didn't last more than two years, most even started to have issues after a few months (i.e. GPS losing accuracy, charging slot losing contact, etc.) Of course the OS never gets updated so you set yourself up to be hacked on an old, unpatched release. The worst is the camera varying degrees of terrible. So I bought a prepaid iPhone 6 about 1.5 years ago but you know how well iOS runs on old hardware and it will probably not make the jump to the next update.

No matter how much I tried to convince myself, I just couldn't buy a new XR, even after I sold my DSLR (b/c I just never bring it with me no matter how good the pictures/lens is/was). However, when Google launched this phone, my last international family trip convinced me that I need to jump at the chance - pictures you have forever, you want the best camera/phone to capture your experiences. Plus, they are offering an insane $250 trade-in for my iPhone and $100 from the Google store credit, plus my company is giving me $100 for BYOD, so the phone is essentially free to me.

Ordering was flawless, plus they (I ordered from the Google Store) provided a trade-in kit at the same time. I got it in 2 days after Google announced it. Box was your typical white box, looks almost exactly like a Apple box with color, design, packaging, etc. Phone powered right up. Slight hiccup to get it activated on Sprint in that you can't just move the nano SIM card over, you have to go to a Sprint store and activate a completely new SIM. Also make sure it's a corporate store b/c affiliates don't seem to have these SIMs. I went to Best Buy and they had me running in 20 minutes.

Phone is awesome. I got the XL and it's large but for a person who wears glasses it just makes it easier to do things. I know people say it's not fast but I don't game or edit videos so it's plenty fast/responsive. Most importantly, the camera is awesome. Photos are not blurry so far and super clear. I haven't even used any of the special portrait and night options. I'm telling you if a camera can take low light photos that is golden and why I jumped at it. Even with a DSLR it's a challenge trying to take low light photos (do you have the right lens with a large aperture but then you can't have zoom, etc.)

It seems pretty fragile so I'm going to get some sort of case, especially since it's plastic and the case is not removable. However, make sure you get a full case and not a case that just clips on the edges. I made the mistake of buying one for my iPhone and sand/dirt got wedged in and ended up scratching the phone itself. The Android OS is quite a bit different than iOS but I'm coping. Can't say it's worst, just different. The best part is the it being a Google phone will get updated for at least 3 years. I have no big input on the exterior design of the outside, really all phones look the same - we have Apple to blame for that. The fingerprint unlock is a huge plus and love it for all my iPads, computers.

Very pleased so far (will update if that changes). Since this phone is free to me, I plan to use my $100 Google store credit to buy another Pixel 3a for my wife. She has a 2 year old Huawei Honor 8 that has held up pretty well, aside from every government in the world banning them.

Update after 1 month
Best phone I've ever had. Best camera I've ever had bar none, better than any Canon/Nikon DSLR I've had, etc. I've take pictures from moving buses, etc. and each pictures looks like a million bucks...the first time. I've used the camera for some professional portrait quality pictures. Battery life is great. I have had some data disconnection problems but not sure if it's a Sprint problem or otherwise but only happened a few times. I'll monitor to see if it is a real issue. I did end up buying a second 3a XL for spouse and she loves it too, still waiting for my google credit though...

6 months update
Here is my update on both my wife and my experience after almost 1/2 a year. So we both have Pixel 3a XL's. Overall, they have been awesome. Camera is awesome, no change. For anyone who just wants to point and click, there is no equal for the price (same as all the media articles). Battery life is great, no complaints. Size is great, especially for reading for those of us who need bigger fonts. So some issues. I had an issue that took a long time to resolve where I was not getting notifications of new voicemails left (using Sprint). Long story short after going to Sprint, working online with Google support, etc. the only way to fix it was to add an app called visual voicemail and sprint hub. This is counter intuitive but it took a huge amount of effort and troubleshooting to resolve. My wife, who had Best Buy setup the phone did not have any issue. She does however have data connection lost issues that is resolved by restarting and I have had it also but not as often. Essentially, the phone stops talking to the Internet. I'm going to try to reset the phone to resolve and then will escalate to Google if it doesn't resolve. Overall, still very pleased with the phones.

Almost 1 year update
Oh well, I had hoped the Pixel 3a would be rock solid. Over the course of a year it’s developed 2 major issues that require mention. One is it keeps losing data access. The fix is to turn network/airplane mode on/off so there is a quick fix but it’s annoying nonetheless. It happens about 30% of time, usually indoors or in a place that should have access but is maybe a bit difficult. I usually don’t notice it until I bring up a browser or e-mail and it says network unavailable. The other issue is worst. The call volume has become so low that people are unintelligible on calls with bad connections or on speaker phones with low volume. If you search Pixel 3a and can’t hear people you’ll find plenty of threads on their support site. I went through the whole support hurdles to get a replacement but what they do is send you to get it fixed at a contracted store. So the local shop spent over two hours replacing the speaker and I can say that it seems better but time will tell. I’ve never had a problem like this where the volume is so low that you can’t hear people. Some theories are it’s bad hardware others believe it was a bad software update. The repair shop said they’ve had many replace and for some the replacement works and for others it doesn’t. I’m knocking off a ton of stars because a phone shouldn’t die in the first year for any reason, certainly not a near flagship from a top tier manufacturer. I’ll watch it for the next month and if I still have issues I’ll insist on a replacement. My wife whom I also bought a 3a XL also has issues and she uses a headset to make it usable. The speaker phone doesn’t have this issue. Maybe Apple does know how to make phones that are good quality...but at 2x or 3x the cost?

BIC 4-Color Shine Ballpoint Pen, Purple Barrel, Medium Point (1.0mm), Assorted Inks, 3-Count
I like the Bic 4 color pens. They are not expensive so no great loss if lost and sometimes I just give them away. They write well and allow for multiple colors for note taking or drawing. I ordered with the expectation of receiving the all black pro model (shiny black top and bottom with orange ring between) but instead received the black grip (black grip bottom with dark grey top). I didn't read reviews prior to ordering so partially my fault. The pens work fine and I will use them, plus I do like the softer grip section when writing for long periods of time, just not what I was expecting when I ordered. I did some more research and, as far as I can ascertain, the all black pro model (the black pen shown in photo) is only available in Europe. You can find it on Amazon but comes in pack of 12 and you have to pay shipping from UK Amazon- ends up being about $24 with shipping, I ordered them and will take a couple of weeks to arrive.

The individual units don't stay closed. It would appear the fastening flap is either off center or too short. Nightmare to work with the Diamond Gems, for diamond painting. Close one unit another pops open. The design is a really good idea, but due to the fact they won't stay closed, I wouldn't buy these again.

Bamboo Toothbrushes Eco Friendly | 4 Pack | Wooden Bamboo Handle | 100% BPA Free | Soft Charcoal Bristle | Bio degradable
I’ve used a bunch of different wooden toothbrushes, and so far, this one is my favorite. The size of the brush head isn’t too big or small. I can reach every surface of my teeth without a problem. I also like how the bristles are black, and they haven’t faded in color.

When buying toothbrushes, I always try to find a reviewer that mentions if they’re heavy handed or not. Me personally, I am and I tend to go through toothbrushes fast. With this toothbrush, I am being mindful of how hard I’m scrubbing, but no where as much as the other brands I’ve tried.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: THE SECRET FILES
Captain America: The Winter Soldier: THE SECRET FILES
The junior novelization of MCU movies took a strange turn in Phase 2. For some reason the books have decided to leave out the finales. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is no exception. This book alone should not be anyone's sole experience of the story. The reader has to watch the film in order to get the whole tale. I gave it three stars because it fulfills a very specific purpose for me as a parent. My policy is "read the book, then you can see the movie." It's the meat-before-the-pudding approach. My kid wanted to see the movie so she had to read the book. The book is so full of mistakes though, (the hangar doors are not part of the aircraft!) I had to pre-read it and make notes every time I found one. If used as an educational exercise, to build vocabulary and reading comprehension, it has merit. I think reading it also helped my daughter follow the plot when we watched the film.
Wolverine Men's W04727 Wolverine Boot
Wolverine Men's W04727 Wolverine Boot
After being a loyal customer for Timberland boots for many years, after not finding their new products meeting their old quality standards, I went looking for alternatives. I came across these Wolverines on Amazon. While the leather is imported, this particular boot is made in the U.S. The soles are sewn on, not just glued. The rubber tread gives good traction and is comfortable to walk around in or work in. I normally get standard cowhide leather boots but took a chance with these in Nubuck. These boots fit like they were made for me. I normally buy shoes and boots in 10 1/2 wide or 11 wide depending on the brand. These are regular size 11 and they fit just fine. I used silicone spray to waterproof the boots because we have a lot of rain and humidity in the area I live in. The boots I purchased arrived in perfect condition and does not have any issues of loose stitching or material defects. It was really nice to put on a new pair of boots that fit so well that I knew I would not have to work to break these in. They were ready to go out of the box. When I do wear the soles of these boots out, at least I will have the option to take them in to get resoled. Hopefully you too will get a pair of these boots that fit like mine so you can enjoy the pleasure I had in trying them on for the first time. Made my feet happy and has made me a solid Wolverine fan.
Foreign Agent: A Thriller (The Scot Harvath Series Book 15)
Foreign Agent: A Thriller (The Scot Harvath Series Book 15)
Brad Thor's latest book, Foreign Agent, is another solid thriller in this franchise. This time out, Horvath must track down the source responsible for not only interfering with his own missions, but also is responsible for assassinating the US Secretary of Defense, all with the intent of dragging the US further into the Middle East mess. Horvath traipses all over Europe, slowly peeling back the cover of a rogue pseudo-ISIS mastermind. Along the way, he engages with several new colleagues, including a German police officer and a couple of Syrian resistance fighters, all while going toe-to-toe with Russian agents. At the same time, he reconnects with an old colleague. Both old and new colleagues may be additional fodder for future installments.

The tradecraft is pure Horvath which can be over the top at times, but are a bit subdued this time out. There's an emphasis on pure detective style sleuthing as well as operating in hostile territory. Thor has scaled back the involvement of Nicolas, the pygmy cyber genius to more realistic contributions and Scott continues to struggle with the irreconcilable nature of his professional versus private life. Whether this introspection remains an ongoing theme or provides a bridge to shifting gears remains to be seen, but it's hard to imagine Horvath changing his spots for simple domestic bliss. While the story and plot is obviously purely fictional, Thor has captured essential elements of current geopolitics and general Middle East tensions making for an eminently plausible tale. As usual, the writing is tight with excellent pacing.
Doctor Strange Vol. 5: Secret Empire (Doctor Strange (2015-2018))
Doctor Strange Vol. 5: Secret Empire (Doctor Strange (2015-2018))
You get three stories here. The first arc ties into the Secret Empire crossover event. It is an unusual team up with Strange and an assortment of heroes and villains (including the Kingpin!) fighting to protect New York from Baron Mordo. The remaining reprints are stand-alone issues with Strange training his new apprentice, Zelma. The first story features a flashback to an "previous" adventure where Strange (rather like John Constantine) messed up and now has to deal with the consequences of his actions. The second story has Strange and Zelma seeking for mystic artifacts, but things go wrong.

The stories weren't bad (and the art was mostly consistent), but not much happened in terms of the series arc. The are no references to Strange's actions last collection, and nothing on Wong's whereabouts. You might skip this and not miss much.

A further note, be advised that Amazon continues to have issues shipping comics. If you like your books unbent, try elsewhere.

i dont do reviews normally but once i had tried this i decided to give it a go.now im not gifted with a very good sense of smell my nose having had several breakages throughout the years, but this scent is a really nice fresh and strong one not like your everyday aftershave and lasts a good 5 to 6 hours of course this is due to the fact that it is an eau de toilette which are normally that bit stronger at the price i got this from amazon (daily deal price) it is a steal and i would go further to say that even at the regular price it is worth the money i tend to shy away from celebrity smellies but this one time i have tried i am pleased i did and will certainly be getting restocked if ever it does run out which i dont think it will because you hardly need to use any of it in the first place as a side note whilst i was wearing this scent i did get many people commenting how nice it was both male and female so i guess it is fair to say that many people will also like it too on to my score of four stars well i am hesitant to give anything five stars only my mother gets that :)

VELVEETA Original Microwavable Shells & Cheese Cups, 8 Count Box | Single Serving Cups with Delicious Velveeta Cheese Sauce | Convenient & Ready in 3.5 Minutes
Not sure how wonderful I feel about feeding the kiddos microwave instant anything meals but lets be real, sometimes its just gatta happen. With 3 kids between 3 and 15 we are constantly coming and going between activities, School, sports - you name it and sometimes someone is hungry and this is super convenient to have on hand! For every feeling of "should I feed my kiddos this" theres an equal, its so easy and they LOVE it to balance that out. They often ask for it for dinner which we try to avoid but its certainly a popular snack and quick meal around here. We Subscribe and save which makes the price awesome and run on the when its gone its gone till next month mantra so we know we arent over doing it on the additives and preservatives
Lastly. This is an awesome travel buddy. We keep them in the camper, 2 in our travel bag (with toys and extra clothes that goes along to babysitters or grandparents houses) when we travel and stay in hotels to visit family- this comes too. A great shelf stable EASY meal that all you need is water and a microwave to make
Convenience and how much my kids LOVE this, merits 5 stars
The Fellowship of the Ring (Dramatized)
The Fellowship of the Ring (Dramatized)
This item is referred to as "The Fellowship of the Ring (BBC Full-Cast Dramatization) [UNABRIDGED]". Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines "unabridged" as "2 : being the most complete of its class : not based on one larger". This definition led me to believe that I would be receiving the whole story. I should have looked at the number of disks (or tapes) and the 4 hour time given. This is not an unabridged version of the first boook of The LOTR trilogy. It might be an unabridged version of the BBC rendition, but who knows. This is just slightly longer than the movie version, so still no Tom B, no Barrow Downs, etc.

I have not purchased the other BBC dramatications of the LOTR series, but I did notice that they are not labled "UNABRIDGED"!
Howl
Howl
I gave this movie 5 stars based upon the credibility of the story as far as the genre is concerned as well as the excellent acting, With echoes of Terror Train (from 1980 with Jamie Lee Curtis) and a specific scene from the first Underworld (from 2005 with Kate Beckinsale), we have a group of late night travellers on a British train suddenly brought to a halt and stuck in a desolated area with a dense forest along one side. How will the passengers deal with each other? How will they deal with an outside threat that slowly but surely moves upon them as they remain stranded and imprisoned within the confines of the detained train? What exactly is the threat? Can they withstand it or counter it in some way? As usual, unexpected heroes and villains emerge in a film of this kind. Ed Speelers is outstanding as a young guard who unexpectedly rises to the occasion. He wasn't even supposed to be on this shift originally. Another surprise is a young man played by Sam Gittins who has guts and some helpful technical skills. A couple of the young ladies are no slouches either. But is it enough? The passengers display a considerable amount of defiance and ingenuity once the threat becomes more imminent. However, a greater danger is pure human nature and the selfish need to survive regardless of the cost. Sean Pertwee (most recently the "butler" in the TV show GOTHAM) in what amounts to an almost cameo role plays the part of the train's engineer. A mix of both genders and various ages
comprises the motley crew that must defend itself in this uncompromising battle. There are a couple of glaring "loopholes" that have to do with distances travelled and particular technical issues. Certain situations are also a bit contrived and implausible but this is, after all, a
horror/SciFi movie. On the whole, it will keep you on the edge of your seat or bed. Keep a drink and a bag of popcorn handy.
The Next Always: Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy, Book 1
The Next Always: Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy, Book 1
I originally posted this as a comment to someone else's review. I hadn't finished it yet, so I was not confident in submitting it as a review of my own. I am cognizant of the impact these can have and wanted to be fair before giving it a rating that could add into the total number of the stars this piece receives.

From the very start, I felt this: "I'm trying to force myself through this piece of garbage because it was the single most expensive Kindle download that I've ever purchased of hers. I'm trying not to acknowledge that I spent $13.00 on one of the worst books I've ever read AND that was for a lousy digital download. Normally I like her work. It's predictable or rather decidedly formulaic, but I've always relied on that from her writing. This time, it's literally painful to push through it."

I have FINALLY finished it after taking breaks in between so as not to want to kill the shallowly portrayed "heroine" and to shake the cobwebs of sheer boredom over the ornate descriptions of PUNCH LISTS. From the very first few chapters I was already fed up with hearing the details of the Inn rehab. Seriously....electrical outlet placement??? But after forcing through it to get to the "meat" I found that the "main" female character Clare was so flat and basically obnoxious in her stating repetitively how important her self-reliance was, that my only conclusion regarding her male counterpart is that he is secretly masochistic. Why else would he be even vaguely interested in her? She's not nice. She's got three children in tow and every other chapter she's either snapping on someone or apologizing for doing it by "explaining" her repetitively bad behavior.

In reading this I found that we had to suffer through endless descriptives about, (as I mentioned above,) the electrical wiring including the outlet boxes, drywall and a miserably long interlude into tile installation complete with grouting and spacers. Don't think that you'll just be getting a really romantic "how to" on any of these things. There is no instructional benefit here. There's just endless and in my opinion, mindless descriptives about absolutely nothing of value to the story. At one point I said to myself, "If they mention those piano spindles on the front porch again, I may be sick." Fortunately they moved on to fawning incessantly over the entranceway "tile rug".

In this nightmare disguised as a romance novel, we were treated to such gems as a weekend of a flu bug with two of Clare's kids. This included one vomiting and another's refusal to eat until the grandparents brought in groceries that had to include Chicken and Stars Soup. Her wonderful, loving parents brought over groceries for Clare and didn't take any money for them. That's it. That's what we know about the grandparents so far, but we know all you can imagine about the drywall and electrical outlets!

There was one other delightful description. There were a few pages describing Clare walking each of her sleepy sons to go pee, tugging down their pants etc, and not flushing in between so that.....I dunno why. Just to gross me out I think. Are you bored with my review notes, yet? Welcome to my world. That's the book, folks. Honest.

This is such a terrible piece of writing that I can honestly say that if it had been the first thing of hers I had ever read, it would most certainly be my last.

Fortunately they offered a snippet of volume two in this trilogy at the end of the download. In it we started again with....you guessed it, a complete review of the rehabbing of the hotel complete with the inset "tile rug" again. This reassured me in my decision NOT to purchase it. This is the sort of book that should come with a refund option!
Black Hills
Black Hills
Another exciting book from a very prolific writer, this one in the black hills of South Dakota on the land that used to belong to the great Sue Nation Indians.
The setting is a couple of young children on fairly large farm and ranches. As the kids grow up they begin having feelings for one another and develop a relationship that wanes after the male decides to go to New York to attend the Police Academy, while the female goes to college to become a Doctor in animal care with a specialty in large cats, traveling to several laces around the world as she obtains her expertise.
Upon her return home to the animal preserve she and her family have established she finds the man she was in love with, 10 years earlier is back working on his grand parents farm.
Their relationship begins to grow again slowly as she is reserved as she feels he left her long ago. He feels their love has always been the same.
Enter a psycho that believes he is a descendant from the great Indian Chiefs and that anyone living on the land is desecrating it and deserves to die. The psycho believes that he has inherited and trained himself to be an excellent tracker, and in fact hs already killed several people through the area.
The story line runs through major disturbances at the preserve caused by the psycho and focuses on him deciding the female doctor need to die and would be an exciting challenge for him to hunt and kill.
The hero comes to the rescue with the aid of one of the big cats from the preserve and ends up saving the doctor.
As usual with this writer the book is enjoyable reading and maintains the ability for the reader to stay interested in the book, weather reading straight through or at a leisurely pace. It is easy for the reader to become involved again and never lose the theme. Overall an exciting book.

Bonjour.
Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Ascendancy (Jason Bourne series Book 12)
Robert Ludlum's (TM) The Bourne Ascendancy (Jason Bourne series Book 12)
A terrible read. A convoluted story line that is impossible to keep track of. Jason is wearing a disguise, this other guy is wearing a disguise so and so is kidnapped forcing Jason to do the kidnappers bidding, how normal is that Jason being the guy getting ordered around. We keep flashing back and forth to the kidnapped victim and her daughter and the author loves spending time on that plot line. This is a terrible book and unless you speak Farsi and can pronounce all the unusual names to help keep the story straight you are doomed. I keep backing up ten or so pages to sort out the story as I try to get back into the book and it's killing me.

I loved the Dragon ball Z series and love how they put the manga's in this huge books. The company vizbig is putting a lot of manga content in this books. If you love a good read and haven't watch the dbz anime don't worry, reading it is as good.they also have the dragon ball series if you also haven't seen or read the begging of the story of Goku's adventure with his friends, they have them too.
Private Berlin
Private Berlin
This story takes place primarily in Germany when the communists took it over and after the Berlin Wall came down. That appealed to me because I was in Germany for a couple of days a few years ago and vividly remember seeing parts of the Berlin Wall and a few of the guard stations that were left standing for tourists to see. We the reader almost immediately learns that a team of investigators are trying to track one of their own who is missing. Mattie, who is associated with the team, had been engaged to Chris - also on the team - has been missing for at least a day. Mattie and her family and a few people become real for me in this story. This book also used an interesting device in which periodically a chapter was written in the first person but without that person letting the reader know the name of who was speaking. This make it both cryptic and kind of scary or "yucky", giving a sense of what kind of person the killer might be.

What I didn't particularly like was that quickly, as the investigation increased, too many people and names were introduced without my being able to take them in as real persons or having a sense of who they are. That aspect seems like too many details and overly complicated. Through most of the broad middle of the book, I felt as if Grisham was off his game or that he or Sullivan wrote separately; I was quite disappointed.
Flora of Middle-Earth: Plants of J.R.R. Tolkien's Legendarium
Flora of Middle-Earth: Plants of J.R.R. Tolkien's Legendarium
Insightful and light and entertaining to read. Tolkien's love of plants and nature, expressed throughout his vast legendarium, helps us dive into his created world and makes it more believable. Flora of Middle-Earth not only contextualizes both real and invented plants according to their biomes, tracing parallels between our very real (and endangered) ecosystems and those of Middle-Earth, but also maps Middle-Earth's plants by place and according to their importance in the stories in which they appear. The woodcut illustrations are beautiful and help us identifying the plants and remembering the passages in which they become crucial points of Tolkien's narrative. It's a great book for all those interested in going further into Tolkien's universe, and I believe it'll be especially insightful to those interested in writing fantasy stories, as it illustrates well how the world we live in can help build a more believable fantasy world if we pay more attention to nature.

Beatrix Potter Collection: Volume Two (Wordsworth Children's Classics)
Beatrix Potter's best children stories published into two volumes by Wordsworth Classics. I love these two books even if they include original illustrations by the author but printed in black and white. However, it is a wonderful collection for little children but also a great occasion for grown up people to rediscover the enchanted world of Peter Rabbit and his unforgattable friends.

Debbie Macomber does it again. I enjoyed both books very much. The only similarity was these were both office romances. I can't get enough of her stories. I especially love the unabridged books. You do have to pay attention because the 2nd book starts in the middle of disk 4 but you definitely know where they end. Don't want to give anything away you have to listen or read these books.

Vital Signs (A Medical Thriller)
Set in the 'IVF business' of American medicine, this novel is a real page turner from start to finish. It takes the reader from Manhatten to Australia to Hong Kong and the excitment runs right through from start to finish. Obviously there are a few twists along the way as any Cook fan will know, but the story is a good one and well worth a read.

The Modern Japanese Print: An Appreciation
This is a terrific book -- in its original form, which I am fortunate to have a copy -- a limited edition of 450 copies.

The images in the Kindle version are very poor quality, for which the is no excuse--it's potentially a very good medium.

Also, one of the outstanding aspects of the original is the perfection in typography, totally lost in the Kindle version (again, not for lack of capability of the Kindle)

This rendition is far more like a dime novel than the incredible beauty of the original.

Shame!

The Funko pop box was torn up, and his wand was broken when this arrived. The description left no indicator that this was a used item that was busted up. I was led to believe I was buying a brand new product. I also purchased Grindelwald and had a similar experience with his condition as well.

I ordered a large even though I’m normally a medium because I thought they would shrink a little in the wash. The bottoms did shrink but they are still a little too loose in the waist. Hopefully in a few more washes they will fit better. As others have said, it would be great if they had been made with a drawstring around the waist.

Otherwise, they are soft and very cute. Love the colors and design.

Update: After a few washes the pants have shrunk in just a bit in the length, but the waist band is still too large for me. But I fold them over. So I suggest to order the size you are and don’t size up.

Mrs. Houdini: A Novel
Mrs. Houdini: A Novel
Unequivocal praise for and recommendation of this historical novel. Historical novels are not usually on my radar since I prefer non-fiction. The only other historical novel I read before Victoria’s was Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow, and that was published in 1975. However Victoria is a fellow poet whom I met at a reading of her poems, and I am so glad that I got the opportunity to read her first novel. Victoria’s story about Bess Houdini is poetic, psychological, mystical, and creates vivid pictures in your mind of the eras involved (1899 to 1929, primarily) and the compelling characters that Mrs. Houdini meets along her journey through life with her famous husband. Her writing style is like silk, smooth and elegant. And it is seemingly effortless. But as a writer myself, I know that getting to that kind of silkiness and effortlessness requires hard work. She also asks the question that Mary Higgins Clark, whom I met several years ago, said she always asks when she imagines a story: “What if?” That question loomed large when Victoria set out to write a novel about Harry Houdini’s wife. Like the magic that Houdini was a master at, I will not reveal the plot, but I will leave the magic of this enthralling story for you to discover from the masterful pen of Victoria Kelly.
Escape!: The Story of The Great Houdini
Escape!: The Story of The Great Houdini
This was a reasonable, if not especially in depth look at Houdini and his life. I was surprised when I received it to find it had very large print and rather easy prose - it turned out that this is a young adult book aimed at the 11 to 15 age group, hence large print and simple text and lack of great depth and analysis. Taking it as a Young Adult book it's not bad, but the point is it was not clear on the description on Amazon that this was a book for young readers or I would have chosen another biography on Houdini, so be careful if thinking about this one - for a young reader it is a decent introduction to Houdini, but for most adults it is little use and bad marks to Amazon for failing to make very clear that this is a child's book.

I work outside and about a week in this thing got drenched and coated in mud. I rinsed off all the mud, no stains were left, writing in pencil stayed put very well.
But then I noticed when it dried, the pages were wavy. I put it under heavy books for a few days to try and iron it out but it does no good. Its no longer easy to write on, the pencil markings are very light and you obviously can’t write anything in it with ink.
I found it odd that this super popular (and somewhat pricey) waterproof notebook became almost ruined and unusable after one run-in with water...

This is a very solid cabinet lock. It stays in place and is the most secure locking mechanism that I have installed. Others become loose or can easily be undone with a little effort, not so with this lock. It has a larger footprint than a simple keyed cabinet lock but the security more than makes up for the size difference.

Pastel Rainbow Balloons 100 Pack,12 Inches Assorted Color Balloons Premium Party Balloon Colorful Latex Balloons for Baby Shower Wedding Party Decoration
I bought these balloons for my daughters first birthday to make a balloon arch! The quality of these balloons are amazing! To be honest when I opened the package I had some doubts about how many were actually in the bag, but there was 100. Out of the 100 balloons, only two of them had holes in them. I wish there would have been a few more of the salmon-coral coloured balloons! Once blown up they held up really well.. There were many toddlers who decided to pull apart the ballon arch at one point of the party to take the balloons to play in our play house area, and make a balloon filled mosh pit.. only one balloon popped. I will add, that I didn't have them fully inflated, so that may be why they held up as well as they did. Honestly for the price they are 100% worth it. Just make sure you wash your hands when your down handling them in the inflating process, they left our hands very dirty. 100/10 recommend!!
Power Rangers Movie Interactive Megazord with Ranger Figures
Power Rangers Movie Interactive Megazord with Ranger Figures
My son has a real hard time opening some of the little compartments. He brings it to me to open & I have broken at least 3-4 nails opening them, or attempting to open. I don't know if it is just ours or if it is awkwardly made or what, but we rarely get it open on the 1st, or 5th try. The little Power Rangers that come with it are cheaply made & are probably about 1 1/2 inches tall. Perfect size to fit in the compartments & perfect size to lose quickly or get eaten by a family pet, if left lying around because you can't get the daggum compartment open to put them back up!
Power Rangers Movie Pterodactyl Battle Zord with Pink Ranger Figure
Power Rangers Movie Pterodactyl Battle Zord with Pink Ranger Figure
I purchased the Pterodactyl Zord and pink Ranger, the packaging was in great condition and all the parts were there. I have not opened it yet as it is a gift for my kid’s birthday. If anything changes I’ll be sure to update my review.

I would like to add that the Zord itself does seem to be cheaper looking than I thought it would. I think the plastic mold lacks detail and any depth but I seriously doubt my five year old would critique it to such degree. I think it will make a great birthday gift!
Lucky Brand Women's Short Sleeve Crew Neck Framed Bandana Tee
Lucky Brand Women's Short Sleeve Crew Neck Framed Bandana Tee
Fits close to the body, sort of what you might call women’s tee fit rather than unisex. I got a large because I like a looser fit and this was a nice surprise, looks a bit almost dressier than a boxy cut tee. Based in the chart, would have been a medium but I like this size very much. Be aware, it is a darker blue than the photo, not really navy, more like a washed indigo.

Charging Dock Compatible New 2DS XL with Hand Grip, AFUNTA Charging Station Cradle Stand With Mini USB Cable and Plastic Handle Compatible 2017 2DS LL - Black
I love the hand grips! I was concerned they would be too small for extra large hands, but I was pleasantly surprised. I game for a few hours at a time and these keep me comfortable. I wish the charging dock would accommodate charging with the hand grips as they were sold together and I really don't want to have to take the grips off. I find myself not even using the charging dock because of this. The small issues I had with the grips are that it was a pretty tight fit for the system at first and I was afraid the "securing notches" on it would hurt the system as I took it on and off. It loosened up after about 10 times of taking it off and its perfect now! Also the hand grips blocks a bit of sound quality, as they only leave a small space for the sounds to come out of, but the New 2DS didn't have amazing sound to begin with. Also comes with an extra cable, which I can always use more of, it's like to have a USB option instead of the wall plug in that the 2DS comes with.
The Christmas Album
The Christmas Album
This man won a Tony Award for Hamilton for a reason.

To hear his voice for the holidays is a refreshing new invitation for anyone who finds the timbre of his voice pleasing, which I do. I grew up listening to people like Luther Vandross and just like my mom's generation love Mathis and Sinatra, Leslie's voice is one that is across time, culture, and spirit. I purchased his Simply Christmas, also available here, and just his rendition of My Favorite Things blew me away, and that's technically from The Sound of Music, which is now a holiday favorite.

I'm a huge fan of male tenors and mid-range voices are always fantastic when it comes to holiday music, that has to appeal to everyone. This is the perfect holiday music that mixes up with traditional music selections.
Orange Seal Cycling Tubeless Tire Sealant with Injection System
Orange Seal Cycling Tubeless Tire Sealant with Injection System
UPDATE: It's been over four months, and I have had zero problems, despite continuing to commute daily on the same route that was destroying my tires. In that time I have added air to my tires exactly once. Haven't needed to add any more of this product, still working great. I could not be more thrilled with how well this is working.

Original review:

I've never used a product like this before, and I haven't compared it with other comparable products. What I can say is, wow, this stuff really made a huge difference in my life. A month or so ago, my office moved and I started biking to work. Every day I would get a flat tire, or two, or more -- like the day I walked my bike the last bit in to work with a flat rear tire, changed the tube in the parking lot, reinflated it before going home, got a flat front tire going home, and saw the rear tire go flat again later that evening. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out what was going on. Maybe the tubes I'm buying are no good? Maybe there's a lot of glass or other sharp debris on the route I'm taking? Maybe I'm not changing the tire correctly? Could my tires be underinflated or overinflated? Am I getting the wrong kind of tube? Is there something sharp stuck in the tire? Long story short, now I don't have to care about the answers to any of those questions because after pumping an ounce or two of this stuff into two fresh tubes, I've had zero problems. In fact, last Friday I was riding home and noticed a weird sound that turned out to be made by a chunk of glass embedded in my front tire. I pulled it off and immediately heard the sound of air escaping. So I ignored it and kept going, and after a few seconds the air sound trailed off and stopped. Got home and checked the pressure and it was 100% fine, and continues to be fine. I haven't changed a tube at all since buying this stuff and using it once, and both tires are holding pressure very well. My bike is my main means of transportation to and from work, and it's also just about the only exercise I get, so it's really been a lifesaver for me. Plus I learned that Schrader valves have cores, and how to remove and replace one, I had no idea, I ended up using some largeish tweezers to unscrew the core and it worked great, much less intimidating than I thought, 100x easier than changing a tube even once let alone multiple times a day.

Silk Road Concepts High Pile Fluffy Sheepskin Rug, 2' x 3', White
I bought this little rug for my reading nook. I wanted something inexpensive, nice and cozy. It successfully is all of these things. Since my dog has decided she enjoys it too, I hope it will be easy to clean. Great, small purchase that really added a whole level of comfort to my home.

Saibit Inflatable Travel Pillow, Ergonomic Comfortable and Protable Flight Sleep Inflatable Pillow for Airplanes and Trains Travel, Office Napping, Camping etc. (Black)
I am dreading my first ever long haul flight of 11 hours. I could barely sit still on a 6 hour flight. If you're like me and are not one of those lucky devils that can fall to sleep in an upright position, then please buy this!! Its so easy to inflate and deflate and it's so sturdy and strong to help fall to sleep on those long dreaded journey's. It does have a slight weird plastic smell when you first get it out, so do get it out before your journey and leave around the house for a day or two before packing it back away for your trip. I love that i finally found a black one too so not overly obvious you're a plane accessory geek lol

IQrouter – IQRV3 Self-Optimizing Router with Dual Band WiFi adapts to Your line for Improved Quality
IQrouter – IQRV3 Self-Optimizing Router with Dual Band WiFi adapts to Your line for Improved Quality
I have been using the IQrouter v3 for a few weeks now. It is replacing a Netgear R7000 and connected to my Windstream provided Arris DG2460.

1. With one caveat, performance is better than with the R7000 and DG2460 combo
2. Bufferbloat on my Windstream 100 Mbps cable line dropped from over a second to sub-50ms latencies, and is generally in the 20ms range.
3. DSLReports Speedtest is a great way to test your bufferbloat and internet access performance. I went from an F on bufferbloat and quality to an A and A+ respectively by switching to the IQrouter v3.
4. The IQRouter UI is very easy to use. The setup wizard worked great.
a . The hardest part of the setup was configuring my Windstream provided Arris DG2460 to allow the IQRouter to sit in the DMZ. Evenroute.com has documentation for handful for ISP devices but not the DG2460.
5. One of the things Evenroute does not advertise enough is the fact that the IQrouter runs a recent version of Linux and is currently on the 4.14 kernel with latest security patches. My Arris DG2460 has not been updated since 2015 and requires ISP interaction. The R7000 has well documented challenges with its latest firmware.
6. The IQrouter dashboard is very useful for understanding line speeds and how the IQRouter is managing your bandwidth.
a. One important thing to note, the IQrouter takes some time to find the best configuration for your network. You can track its progress on the dashboard. The IQrouter automatically identified my ISP and how much bandwidth it had to work with.
b. The dashboard is also useful for understanding line drops. Since installing the IQrouter, I have lost network connectivity 3 times and received a couple of unstable line change alerts. It is a very easy way to see how stable your ISP connection is.
8. The IQrouter also automatically setup my UPnP redirect.
9. I run both a corporate VPN and personal VPN on a number of devices. So far, I have had no issues doing everything I need to do over VPN.
10. Internal streaming from my media PC to my Apple TV and from services like Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney+ work great.

As to the caveat, the 5 GHz wireless AC signal strength is not as strong as the signal on my R7000. This could be a temporary condition as Evenroute has informed me that have a firmware patch coming in the next few weeks that should address some of the signal strength issues. I, also, understand they plan to introduce WPA3 in the near future giving the IQrouter v3 an additional security boost.

Linsoul KZ ZS10 Pro 4BA+1DD 5 Driver in-Ear HiFi Metal Earphones with Stainless Steel Faceplate, 2 Pin Detachable Cable (with Mic, Purple)
While I’ve questioned the design of some previous KZ models with ZS10 pro they went for their own original look and they did a fantastic job! Right out of the box the earpieces look dope. Box, packaging and accessories are simple but who cares about that. The polished mirror-like stainless steel plates are super cool and there’s a little bit of heft to them which I like. Solid build quality overall for the price. Size is significantly smaller than ZS6 or AS10 and fit for my ears is way better. Even my girlfriend who according to her “has the smallest ears in the world” managed to get a good fit. Cable is the typical 2 pin for KZ, nothing too exciting but this iem is definitely getting a nice aftermarket cable since is quickly becoming my favorite budget earphone in my collection. And it’s all because of the sound:
The tuning of the ZS10 pro is a mildly V shaped. I expected the dual dynamic driver to provide a good slam in the lower frequencies and I wasn’t disappointed. Bass is good! It hits hard but remains controlled. It makes edm, hip hop and pretty much most of modern genres sound fun. It might lack a little bit of the resolution of a balanced armature driver (AS10 for comparison) but it has better extension in the sub bass and more energy overall. The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Old thing back” puts a smile on my face listening with ZS10 pros. “Royals” by Lorde - another song with good bass that this iem plays right.
I was listening “A kiss to build a dream on” by Amber Rubarth” and comparing back and fourth to my 10X more expensive 8 BA Fearless Audio set I was surprised how well the KZ held its own. Sounds stage was open and natural and while the midds (her voice and acoustic instruments) were lacking a little resolution compared to the much more expensive one the tonality sounded right and her voice was still emotional and nuanced.
But the biggest improvement for me from other KZs on this set is the treble area. ZS10 pro is tuned for more relaxed listening with the highs rolled off where it counts. No sibilance with female voices and retaining nice resolution.
To put it simply at the moment this is the best model that KZ has made yet. Excellent build quality combined with very pleasing, open and relaxed playback makes ZS10 a great budget all-arounder with value that is hard to beat
Additional thoughts: for everyone who likes their ZS10 pro but wants a better cable, Linsoul offers an upgrade- Tripowin C8 cable with QDC connectors

If you have order this product previously, brace yourself for a major change. As of 5/28/2014 the grains of sugar are brown and small, prior to this the grains of sugar were a beautiful deep amber color and large (over 2x the size of the current batch). I have posted a photo of the old and new batches of sugar side by side - please see this for clarification. The other thing that I noticed is that the odor of the new batch of sugar smells heavily of molasses (more than even dark brown sugar), the previous batch does not have this strong of a molasses odor. I purchased the previous batch about 3 months ago.

I have been using this sugar for the past 5 years and love it. I _really_ hope this is a temporary issue with the product.

**UPDATE**
After using the sugar to make iced tea several times I noticed that the viscosity (thickness) of the tea had drastically changed compared to the sugar received prior. More than that, I always brew my tea in 1 container and make a simple syrup in another mason jar with boiling water and this raw sugar -- when the boiling water hits this (the new batch) sugar it seems that the brown coloring (molasses) washes right off of the sugar and white sugar crystals are left at the bottom of the jar. This did not happen with the prior batches of this sugar - the deep amber coloring of that sugar seemed to be the entire crystal, but on this batch the brown coloring seems to be just on the outside of the crystals.

Scotte Captain Tobacco Pipe Red Smoking Pipe
Scotte Captain Tobacco Pipe Red Smoking Pipe
I don't know if I'd technically consider this a "pipe". It's more of a hybrid between a bowl and a tobacco pipe. It looks and feels like a pipe, but does it smoke like one? The answer is a sound yes.

Captain by Scotte does not require screens or metal balls. Just place your tobacco, herb or other smokable in the built-in bowl and fire away! It hits really well and smooth. The design is a neat redish-brown color with a cool pattern.

My only complaint is that is does have to be cleaned quite often. However, despite this minor setback, you can't go wrong with the Captain.
