Hands-On Full Stack Web Development with Angular 6 and Laravel 5: Become fluent in both frontend and backend web development with Docker, Angular and Laravel
I'm an experienced angular developer and I have been searching for a book that will help me to make the step for the full-stack world. I know NG but docker and PHP were not my sting side till now.
Have read several but this one really did the trick for me. The writer guides you in a friendly and warm language., which makes the reading experience light and fun.
The Warren Buffetts Next Door: The World's Greatest Investors You've Never Heard Of and What You Can Learn From Them
The Warren Buffetts Next Door: The World's Greatest Investors You've Never Heard Of and What You Can Learn From Them
I did enjoy most of the stories and the investment strategies profiled in this book. However, I did not think investors who relied on quant's and what I would classify as day trading belonged in a book with Warren Buffett's name in the title. Mr. Buffett would most likely be very amused when some of the investors didn't know the name of the company they invested in because they used mathematical formulas or charts as a basis for buying part of a company.

Some of the investment returns seemed unrealistic because the amount of money invested in a virtual portfolio was in the millions of dollars. However, the author did say he did not look at the one investors brokerage statement to verify actual rates of return leading one to believe he was able to verify real the rates of return for the other investors profiled.

If you are looking for a book that teaches you how to invest, this book will not get the job done. On the back cover, one of the endorsements says "... their unique styles may not be replicable..." and I have to agree. Some of the participants would not fully disclose exactly how they made their investment decisions.

The take away from this book is anyone can be a successful investor if they are willing to first educate themselves and then put in the time necessary for research to generate above average returns. Overall this is a good book and it may give you some ideas how to improve your own investment returns as some investors reveal screening criteria and the websites they use to perform their due diligence. If nothing else, this book will inspire you to work at improving your own investment returns. And since Mr. Buffett's own investment strategy is not replicable, isn't that why we read books with his name in the title?

Facebook for Business: How to Create a Facebook Business Page That Works -- From the Basics to Using Facebook's Advanced Mark Up Language (FBML)
A first rate book for anyone creating a Facebook business page. I downloaded other highly reviewed Kindle books before this one that didn't really help much. Rebecca Robinson put this book together with Facebook screenshots that walked me through the process. She made the concepts understandable.

I'm new to Facebook, will be working on my FB biz page to complement my EuroPartsHouse.com website where I sell parts for European cars.

This book is the most useful of the several Facebook kindle books that I bought and the one that I'm using first in creating the business page.

Thanks again,

The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of the 2000s: An Oral History
The Office: The Untold Story of the Greatest Sitcom of the 2000s: An Oral History
Ok...admission #1: I have yet to read most of this book. Why I am even bothering? Why am I bothering you? Because sometimes you just know. It's like meeting someone for the first time and after only a moment you just "know". You click. You're soul mates. You're in love. Or at least "in like". Admission #2: I haven't really watched the show. My daughter has been obsessed with it and my daughter is much more clever and intelligent and with-it than I can ever hope to be. If she says something is good then it's certainly worth my time to investigate, dabble and peruse. So, through her I've seen bits and pieces of it over the years. (Am I the only one who's experienced the oddity of never having seen something other than a snippet and then coming across it serendipitously channel surfing or looking over a daughter's shoulder find that you're seeing the exact same scene you saw the one other time you caught the program?). I've chuckled a time or two. Admission #3: I LOVE oral histories ('that's what she said') Seeing this was an oral history and having this program on my bucket list AND this being the second week of my life being on hold along with millions of others because of Covid-19 (I'm sensing a future 'oral history' of these strange days) I've decided to start Mr Greene's book AND begin binge-watching THE OFFICE starting with the original British version. I'll read along as I watch. Admission #4: Although true that I haven't actually read this book before audaciously 'reviewing' it, I have read through chapter 2 and have snuck enough of a peek at the rest to feel confident that my 5-Star rating will hold. Sometimes you just know.
Investing for Beginners: A Short Read on the Basics of Investing
Investing for Beginners: A Short Read on the Basics of Investing
This book was informative to me as a total newbie in investing. It was a quick and easy read. It did not give me enough info to actually start investing, but it did give me some confidence and knowledge for reading more. It addresses the basic types of investments you can make. There is not much detail though- it's only 30ish pages. I would have liked more practical guidance for how to start an investment, like trustworthy banks or choosing an advisor or broker. There are some helpful links though, which led me to good articles where I was able to get more info. I think this is a good starter pamphlet and informative considering its very short length.

Cooking for Henry: The Memories and Recipes of Chef Jan Willemse, Former Pastry Chef at Dearborn Inn and Personal Party Chef for Henry Ford I
I own this book, and besides the many bread and dessert recipes, you will find soups, salads and dressing, vegetable dishes and main courses. Of particular interest are a wide variety of recipes using the soybean and its products, as Mr. Ford was instrumental in the research and development of soy as a human food source. "Mr. Ford... once said that, next to the Model T, he considered his soybean research to be his greatest work." It is no lightweight cookbook, as it contains 234 recipes, by my count. I just got it, so i haven't cooked any up yet, but look forward to enjoying this bite of local history. (Go, Dearborn!)
God, Trump, and the 2020 Election: Why He Must Win and What's at Stake for Christians if He Loses
God, Trump, and the 2020 Election: Why He Must Win and What's at Stake for Christians if He Loses
The author divided this book into three parts: Part 1 is 'What's at Stake in 2020''; Part II is 'Understanding Donald Trump' and Part III is ;Understanding the Spiritual Dimension'. The third part is the one that had the most difficult parts for me. The reason I say that is that a couple of the chapters discuss things that I do not believe wholeheartedly. Examples are: Prophecies and signs in the Heavens and is Donald Trump foreshadowed in the Bible?

On the other hand, however, the author has presented a clear picture of the Trump Derangement Syndrome and the Equality Act that failed to pass. He also states the reasons that President Trump must win....and, then in the next chapter he does say that he could lose. I found this a balanced representation of both sides of this equation.

The author suggested reading this with an open mind which I did. The portion on Christianity and Secularism affords the readers to think seriously about where they stand in this realm. And, many pastors are having difficulty speaking what they believe because of their congregation(s). (This area had to do with abortion).

Lots of points to ponder in this book. May not be your cup of tea but the author has presented a concise and thoughtful inside look at the political climate and spiritual warfare. Interesting read for me.

Highly recommended.

DND DC Duo Gel + Polish - 137 Pina Colada
Love this color and formula! My nail salon that I go to uses this and I was in love with the color and durability of the regular polish. Haven't used the gel yet, but I won't do that myself. This is the most perfect pale pink nail polish and very flattering on all skin tones, even us pale princesses! Will definitely order more.

aeliussine 1000 watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter 12v dc to ac 120v with LCD Displaywith Remote Switch Power Inverter for Car Off Grid Solar Power System (1000w12v LCD)
As part of my off-grid solar system, I'm cautiously optimistic this 2000w 24v "pure sine" inverter may fit the bill. It's been in and working reliably for a week now - though admittedly I'm still treating it with kid gloves. I pushed it to only 1100w and that for about 15 minutes straight, but many hours at a time with between 35 and 600 watts. Full size refrigerator, vacuum cleaner, glue gun, fan, and a cheap electric leaf blower, are all loads which I have tried, sometimes in combination, which seemed to work fine. I've been using the included cables (1 set) which seem adequate for now and only got a bit warm at most. I will definitely upgrade by adding a second set.
- PROS: Low cost! Seems to be true sine wave since nothing runs "oddly", though I have no way of testing this conclusively. Pretty good backlit LCD display which shows valuable information. Seems well built inside and out, and it has not overheated yet. Internal (4) 20A blade fuses have not blown, and the unit comes with (4) spares. System starts beeping loudly when voltage reached around 22v.
- CONS: Fans are noisy and cycle on/off with even fairly small loads (150w) in a 75 degree F environment. I would not expect it to do well in a very warm or hot space especially if pushed to its limits. A definite peeve is the orientation of the display. I'd love to see it turned 180 degrees since it is difficult to get a good angle on it when mounted normally on a backboard. I looked at turning it around myself which at first seemed doable, but unfortunately it's offset which makes this impossible without doing a case modification. Apparently no remote or on/off panel option is available.
One star off due to the cons. BUT - because of the price point - if this thing handles increased loads (1500w - 2000w) without blowing up then that star easily gets added back despite the quibbles. I'll be back after a few months to update.
Memories of Tomorrow (Nameless Book 6)
Memories of Tomorrow (Nameless Book 6)
Memories of Tomorrow, the sixth and final story in Dean Koontz’s Nameless series, was the shortest and most straightforward mission as Koontz dedicated half the story to finally revealing the back story of the life of Nameless. In the final series, Nameless is sent to Indiana to track down a psychopath named Chilton Cutter who has murdered his wife, kidnapped his step son Jamie and is now hiding in a remote cave. Nameless is directed, as always, by the Ace of Diamonds, whose endless resources make it easy for the team to track down Cutter, even though local law enforcement has given up and moved on to the next crisis. The justice that is delivered by Nameless is the least exciting and rewarding of the series but this story serves more as a catalyst to force Nameless to face his past and make a decision on how he wants to live his future.

I will not spoil any of the plot the leads to our discovery of the history of Nameless. Koontz brings Nameless to the brink through a typical apocalyptic thunder storm with rain driving down in sheets and lighting piercing the skies at a rural truck stop filled with big rigs, heavy equipment and evil. It is vintage Koontz. Finally, our agent of truth, who has been ironically running from the truth of his past, is forced to stop and confront his own truth. It is a satisfying ending and a fitting conclusion to a very well written and unique series. My only regret is that I do not have a nice hard bound copy to stack on my shelf next to the rest of my Koontz editions. Welcome to the future!

Sturz der Titanen
Drei Länder. Drei Familien.

Terror Keep
Terror Keep
This is a J. G. Reeder book, and while it's not a rigorously plotted piece of work (few Wallace books are) I liked it much better than the more famous volume, Wallace's collection of short stories THE MIND OF J. G. REEDER. Wallace was not really a mystery writer, per se, his books are not known for their elaborate plots or their fair play puzzles,

Wallace was a thriller writer, and this is really a thriller novel with some "classical detection" elements. In that way this book rather accurately presages modern crime fiction, which tends to have just this blending of action, suspense, and just some puzzles to keep you involved.

Reeder sends his assistant/sort of love interest away because his arch enemy has escaped from the criminal asylum -- but somehow where she's ended up is no better, and the two stories reconverge. Plot makes almost no sense (why did Reeder send his love interest to the one spot where she'd be in danger?, and the climax is ill-imagined, but I still liked this one. Reeder is much more appealing here than he is in the short stories -- he's actually a real character, and not just a knockoff of Sherlock Holmes -- the subsidiary characters are amusing, and there's a lot of fun little bits: Reeder waving a stick (? I forget) in front of him on a staircase while a cop looks on agog, Reeder operating under the worst crush a man has apparently ever felt for anyone, ever; Reeder staying up all night to beat an assasination attempt. And more.

Really more like three and a half stars. Not Wallace's finest moment, but worth a look and a good example of Wallace at his prime.
Detective Cross (Alex Cross)
Detective Cross (Alex Cross)
Suspended from the force, Alex has reopened his psychology practice and is trying to help a young vet named Kate.  At the same time his wife, Bree, is getting phone calls from someone that wants to "wake everybody up"-with bombs.  The people are scared, the city seems mad.  Can they find the culprit before it's too late?
For me, this was a fantastic bookshot and a good addition to the Cross series.  I enjoyed the fact that we got to see more of Bree, and  I really liked the new characters.  What really drew me forward was the fact that I got to know the culprit as well, and to like them.  Patterson has a way of making good, interesting bad guys.  I loved the story line, and the flow of the book.  It's also nice being able to see Nana Mama and Ali.  As a long time reader of this series these characters are very special to me.  One thing I did not like, though, was that it seemed to come up right after the last installment, but there was no talk of Sampson whatsoever.  I had been waiting for news, as one does with a beloved character.  Still, it was a fast and intensely interesting read.  I give it five stars.
As far as the adult content goes, there is some language and a lot of violence.  Neither are too very graphic though.  I give it a four.
La confesión / The Confession (Best Seller) (Spanish Edition)
La confesión / The Confession (Best Seller) (Spanish Edition)
I have read several of John Grisham's books, and he is an exceptional writer, wit ample experience and knowledge of Law. But
I must say that although this book is interesting, I feel that its not one of his best. He gets into long, extensive and slightly tiring
descriptions about various instances which i will not mention to avoid disclosing the trama. There were times when I felt like giving
up my reading, but I continued because Grisham deserves that we follow his work. Again, a good book which in my humble opinión
should have been shorter, avoiding some long and repeated events. But I will continue reading John Grisham after giving him and
myself a break on Law stories.
Nevada
Nevada
This book was the sequel to another book, which made it just a little difficult to keep people straight as I was caught up from the original book (which I have never read) up to the beginning of this book. Nevada was apparently the central character in the other book, and is again in this book, only he is known by a different name to different people. The Ides, who have moved to Arizona to buy a frontier cattle ranch and try to locate Nevada know him by that name. He worked in Arizona for the Judge for two years as Texas Jack, and most others know him as Jim Lacy. A real good story as he works under different names to rid the area of cattle rustlers. Complicated adventure book of deception and romance, but very good. Aggravatingly, this book does not have a working table of contents which makes navigation through the book difficult.
The Young Forester annotated
The Young Forester annotated
The Young Forester is one of Zane Grey's "Ken Ward" books for boys, but don't let that deter you from buying it. It has all the flavor and tenor of any Zane Grey book with its descriptive quality and its action sequences as Ken gets into all kinds of trouble in Arizona riding mustangs, hunting bears, and lions in the Grand Canyon and vicinity. He meets many "characters" along the way who help educate him to the ways of the West. This is a great book of outdoor adventure for the young and the young at heart, and fills out any Zane Grey collection. Enjoy it for what it is and appreciate it as you would any of his books, and watch as a master story teller learns his craft in one of his early works. Highly recommended.

Tolkien Classics (The Hobbit, the Fellowship of the Ring, the Two Towers, the Return of the King, the Silmarillion)
I read the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series first in the early 70's. They are those stay up all night books, can't put it down. Can't get much better than this. I've read and re-read them many times over the years. J.R.R. Tolkien got it right. (fyi- I do not enjoy his son's renditions or Silmarillion) People will always be trying to live up to J.R.R. Tolkien for generations to come.
Hibernation (First Step Nonfiction ― Discovering Nature's Cycles)
Hibernation (First Step Nonfiction ― Discovering Nature's Cycles)
The snow-covered evergreens and hardwoods show no sign of animal life because "It is winter." There are no animals in sight because many of them hibernate. We can see bats hanging inside a cave and a squirrel curled up on the underside of a log. When animals hibernate, it is as if they are in "a deep sleep." This is part of their life cycle and they "hibernate to survive the winter." It's not easy to find food in the wintertime because the "snow hides plants and other food." Bears will sleep in dens during the winter only to "wake up and come out" in the spring. A few types of snakes hibernate, but "most ground squirrels" do. In this book the young student can read about and see photographs of animals who are hibernating and they will learn about the cycle.

This book provides an excellent way to introduce the young student to animals and hibernation science. The emergent to early fluent readers will benefit from the large print and the vibrant photographs accompanying the text. Difficult words such as "hibernating" are highlighted in bold throughout the text and explained in the glossary. Each page has a single sentence with the exception of a one page discussion about hibernation at the end. This can be read aloud to a classroom or tackled by the early fluent or confident reader.

In the back of the book there is an index, a glossary, and some interesting "Fun Facts." A typical example is similar to this: "Here are some other animals that hibernate-chipmunks, hamsters, skunks, bats, prairie dogs, frogs, lizards, snakes, turtles, and some insects like bees and ladybugs." This is one in a series of six in the "discovering Nature's Cycles," an interesting nonfiction series you may wish to add to your homeschool or classroom shelves!

I noticed one viewer say that this show "was a ghetto version of Barney, Yikes!" I say this show is very educational, informative, and a motivational tool to learn. This show has great music and is fun packed with educational learning for kids. Great show! Just wished this show and all the seasons were added to prime. By the way, this show is way better than Barney, and would recommend to anyone who has kids.

It's a pretty good postcard book, but the lenticular cards that i got it for, are not so great. I don't wanna see a blurry 5 minute clip from the movie. I think the best kind of lenticulars are the ones that just look three dimensional, and these kinda don't

I got the XXL and it is way bigger than I was anticipating. I should have gone with the XL option. It will work and is good material. Inside is nice and smooth for wearing. Perfect height for me as well.

Overall I'm very pleased with this, it will work great for my halloween costume

I contacted Asurion by chat on May 09 to file a claim for a broken screen on a Motorola MogoG model XTI925-6. They accepted the claim and said I would hear from them within two business. days. On May 12, the emailed and said, "We are already coordinating with our back office team in order to complete your claim. Please allow 2 more business days for us to work on your claim and we will get back to you until Tuesday, May 14." Wednesday night, May 15, I still had not heard back and emailed them asking for an update. I gave the names of nearby cities where there might be a repair center within 100 mile radius of my house. They called the next day and said they were going to elevate it to a supervisor who called the next day and said they were "having issues with the model number" and were working with their back office and would call me in two days. On May 20, they emailed back with the same story, "We are still coordinating this claim with our back office team and we will email or call you back for updates and resolution within 2 business days." May 22, I still hadn't heard back so I emailed again and asked if I could have the phone repaired locally and send them the repair bill. Their response is, "We apologize for the delay. We are still coordinating with our back office team to have the model number of your phone w/c is Moto G6 32GB Blk XT1925-6 added on our system to proceed with the claim." I don't know what a back office team is or why it's taking 14 days to enter a phone in their system. All I know is I am STILL WAITING!

Waterproof Case for Apple Watch,IP68 Waterproof Dust-Proof Shockproof Case with Watchband for Apple Watch Black (38mm Apple Watch Waterproof Case)
When I first took it out of the box I thought they sent me the wrong size because it seemed so huge compared to the size of my watch. It’s just huge but it the right one for my 40mm. I have a series 5 and it works fine even tho it says series 4. I can not attest for its extra abilities under water but I have watered and played in the garden and washed my face several times with it on and it worked just fine. The screen protector is thin and does not effect to use of the watch. It takes some getting use to because of its size but the ease of mind not worrying about it getting wet and knocking it around is worth it to me. I also kind of like that it doesn’t really look like an Apple Watch any more just a really industrial sports watch. I wish it came in colors or I could change the straps for colored ones to just add some fun but love the function and ease of instal!
Quickwits Party Card Game -- A Fun and Social Adult Tabletop Game
Quickwits Party Card Game -- A Fun and Social Adult Tabletop Game
I bought this game on a whim, after comparing it to a few similar card games, and my friends and I LOVED it!! I played it with my grad school friends, we had class early in the morning, but were up ALL night playing this dang game. We just couldn't stop, it's such a kick.

The game was so easy to play that people were able to just jump in and play and learn the rules after a couple of rounds. Essentally, the deck goes in the middle, then everyone takes turns drawing a card until two people match. The first person to name something from their opponent's category shown on the other person's card (Ex: vodka, bald actors, STD, and it gets worse from there haha) wins and takes that card. There are a few other twists in there such as battles and mystery cards, but it's all very simple and can be taught in a matter of minutes.

Would I play this with the whole family? No way, not my family at least! It has some naughty cards in there that just wouldn't fly with my parents, but some of my friends were saying they couldn't wait to buy it and play it over the holidays with their families. So it just depends!

Kids game? Definitely not, please do not play this with your kids haha!
Ring Fit Adventure - Nintendo Switch
Ring Fit Adventure - Nintendo Switch
I'm honoured to be the first to review this product on Amazon (assuming no one beats me to it while I'm typing this). This marks two unusualities (yes I'm aware that's not a word) for me in two days. The latter being writing a review on Amazon (or writing reviews in general), which I hardly if ever do. The first was yesterday when I exercised for the first time in approximately 2-3 years playing Ring Fit Adventure. That's not to say I've been completely sedentary for the last 2 years (for example, I spent two months in Europe this summer, did a fair amount of walking) but truly *working out* yeah, it's been a hot minute.

Some quick background info, I'm a 29-year-old female law student. I spend approx 93% of my time studying. The other 7% is split between eating and sleeping, so there isn't a whole lot of time for me to suit up and head to a gym. Sure, there's a gym in my apartment's basement, as well as on my school's campus (also in the basement) but what would I do? hit the treadmill for 35mins? Sure, I could do that and probably to my benefit. Would be good cardio. But I don't do that either. Why? I just don't wanna. /shrug.

I played Ring Fit Adventure for about an hour yesterday (probably closer to 40 mins of total gameplay) and let me just say - I'm SORE today. My arms and shoulders FEEL like they had a good workout. And the crazy bit is... I can't wait to do it again!! Literally about to pop on my leggings right now and go for round two (though I'll probably try to focus a bit more on my core and legs) but what's nice is I *CAN* do that! The variety in this game is nuts. I never played Wii Fit (or owned a Wii) but I heard it was just "ok" and didn't *really* give you a workout. Mostly yoga poses and maybe some core work. Here, you have TONS of options to choose from, and what's great is each exercise tells you exactly what part of your body it's targeting, and gives you proper form and posture. It's up to you to do the moves correctly, but honestly, if you're trying your best to match Tipp (your posture guide - how cute!) you're probably gonna be fine.

Before you even start playing, the game guides you through a really clear set-up and calibration process. The calibration is key because it, along with inputting your weight and fitness level, will help the game adjust to your needs. But don't worry about messing up because you can recalibrate whenever you want. It's honestly pretty cool. The game starts you off with only a handful of moves, expanding as you level up (and each move has a "recharge" time so you can't just keep spamming the ones that you like/are good at). But you can access ANY of the moves by going into "quick play" or "custom" if you just want a quick workout and don't want to go into the game. Every set you start (whether it's a level or world in the game or your own selection) will tell you how long (approximately) it should take, and the calories you should expect to burn. Every time you complete a workout you can hold your thumb over the IR sensor in the right joycon and it will take a measure of your heart rate, letting you know if you're in the right zone for fitness. I checked this reading against my Apple Watch, and it seemed fairly accurate.

You don't actually even need to turn on the game to get in a bit of a workout. If your Switch is in sleep mode and you click in the joystick, the game will register every time you flex the RingCon. So you can be passively pacing around your house, squeezing the RingCon (with /really/ satisfying auditory feedback, might I add) and be racking up points in the game! I'm not sure I've ever called a game or game accessory "genius" but holy cow... it's genius.

The RingCon is STURDY and well-made, and feels GREAT in the hand. The grips are made of this beautiful sweat soaking material (so you never feel like your palms are gross and sweaty) that you can remove and wash, and the ring itself is made out of a really nice soft, velvety feeling plastic. And honestly, the resistance is perfect. Yes, I'm an out-of-shape law student, but really, do enough reps and you're going to be feeling it too. They started me at level 10 based on the calibration and information I gave them. That doesn't necessarily mean 10 reps for every move though, and I haven't quite figured out the difficulty leveling system yet (is 10 just the maximum they'll give me? still playing around with that) but I've seen video reviews online of pretty fit men playing the game and it set them at say, level 30. This isn't your in-game level, just your personal difficulty level. You'll always start the game at level 1.

Now, who is this game for? Well, as I said, I'm an almost-30-year-old-law-student, and I'm loving it. However, someone with more /refined/ or /mature/ tastes may find the game a little cringey/cutesy (I'm referring only to "Adventure" mode). I've seen reviews that say the game isn't sure if it's targeting kids or adults, but IMHO, anybody can play this game and feel like it's "for" them. Some people may find Ring's voice annoying but I find it motivating, so you'll have to decide that for yourself. What I will say is, if you already own a Switch, and game on it, you'll probably be fine with it. Adventure mode is cute and endearing, and the villain Drageaux is hilarious.

Bottom Line:
This review has gone on far too long at this point, so congratulations if you've read this far. But if you're like me, and have zero motivation to exercise, but WANT to make a lifestyle change, I feel like this might be it. Will I be able to keep this up on a regular or semi-regular basis? I don't know. I hope so! Will I get bored of it? I really hope not. But for now, all I know is I really enjoyed my time with it yesterday, and am ready to get back into it today. 5/5 Stars.

***I'm updating this review below due to customer service.*** I received an email from the company offering to replace/refund the charging cords because they should not overheat like that. I appreciate good customer service, always. I will reorder because other reviews are positive. Maybe mine were defective. the cords worked well aside from the heat and I'd like to give them another try!

I bought these for my daughters who are forever losing and/or breaking their charging cords. I gave them each one and put the third away. At first and In general they're ok and good value. They seem no different -better/worse- than store bought ones other than price and convenience.... after a few weeks of them using them though they begin to heat up. I unplugged one yesterday and it was hot to the touch. Nothing that will burn you but definitely worth mentioning. I pulled out the cord I had put away and left it plugged in a few hours and it was normal temperature which leads me to think this is an issue caused by use... both my girls are teenagers so you can trust these cords have many. Many, hours on them!

These little things are amazing! I live in a super tiny apartment that was built in the 40's. So, it's musty and stuffy in there a lot. I purchased 2 of these; one for my livingroom and one for my bedroom. I've noticed a difference from the first day. The air smells and feels cleaner. It's not stuffy like it usually is and, these have actually cooled my rooms way down. These are very quiet. You can hear the air blowing but very discreetly. I am absolutely in love with these. I also have a cat and I am glad to know that these will keep down the dander and allergens. Very happy with these for the few days I've had them so far!
Lakrids No 1 Sweet Licorice
Lakrids No 1 Sweet Licorice
For my palate Panda plain black licorice is still the best. While Lakrids beats drugstore brands, such as Twizzlers and Red Vines, in both quality and flavor, I didn't find Lakrids superior to the Australian-style licorice also ordinarily sold in drugstores.

Arriving on schedule from Amazon, the contents of the jar I received looked and tasted fresh -- no complaints there -- but I find the texture overly tarry. Perhaps that's due to the rice flour that's used instead of wheat, but I'm only guessing.

So, for those who must remain gluten free, Lakrids might be just fine. From my perspective, however, especially considering the steep price, I won't buy Lakrids licorice in the future.
